I have never dealt with such a horrible customer service department . We bought a gas range for a spec log home we built. After two years we moved into the home. To my dismay, after using the stove for a few months, the grates finish bubbled! I thought it might be our fault so we had a Kitchenaide Tech come out and adjust the flames on our burners. I ordered two more grates, another $400 and the same thing happened. I called "customer no service" and they told me they couldn't help me. I asked for the manager and I was denied access to anyone! We bought all kitchen aide appliances, however, it will be the last time I spend the extra money for the supposed top of the line appliance. I feel the grates should be replaced by Kitchenaide.

Upon getting married in 1968 I decided the KitchenAide blender was a "must have" in my kitchen as I am an avid baker. It is the "classic" model. About 2 years I accidently dropped it on a heavy tile floor. I cringed because I was certain that it would be unoperable. Not true! It is still functioning properly (the floor is fine too), and I truly believe this is the best small appliance purchase I have ever made. 42 years later and it's still doing its thing................ I believe it is getting close to purchasing a more updated model. Mine is white and I am thinking a different color with the added accessories. My model came with three attachments and that was a bout it. I think the "scatter shield" would be a very good addition. Thank you for such an awesome product.

I purchased a Kitchenaid dishwasher because of past good experience with my old kitchenaid dishwasher. after using the new appliance 5 times during 3 weeks, I had 3 service repairs. I contacted the office to demand a new appliance or my money back. I was told I could only get the machine repaired, PERIOD...I spoke to a man named Lucas in Benton Harbor,MI. He said he was the top of the chain and I had no recourse other than getting yet another repair. I will never buy or recommend a Kitchenaid to anyone. $700 down the drain, what a lemon and poor quality service.

I HAVE A OUTSIDE KITCHEN WITH A LOT OF YOUR EQIPMENT INSTALLED. I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH YOUR SEARER GRILL MODEL # KBEU121TSS SERIAL # XJU1801076. THE BURNER HAS A HOLE IN THE GRID. INFRARED . I HAD THE LOCAL APPLIANCE SERVICE PEOPLE LOOK AT IT AND THEY ORDERED THE PART FROM YOU. 0VER $250.00 PART. I HAVE BEEN WAITING 3 WEEKS AND I JUST GOT A CALL FROM THEM TELLING ME THAT THAT PART IS BACK ORDERED. WILL NOT BE IN UNTIL DECEMBER 31 2011. THE SERVICE COMPANY IS EXCELSIOR APPLIANCE EXCELSIOR MUNNESOTA. THIS IS NOT EXCEPTABLE. THE BURNER SHOULD NEVER GONE BAD IN THE FIRST PLACE. $250.00 PUUS LABOR IS A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY TO SPEND ON A 3 YEAR OLD $1000.00 GRILL.

We purchased a KA dual-fuel range in 2003. Worked well until about the second time we cleaned it and the thermostat fired. Warranty covered it. Cleaned several times, thermostat fried once again. Extended warranty covered it. 8 years later, oven doesn;t work again. No warranty, so we're on our own. We accept that. Here's where the fun begins: -KA referred servicer arrives and, somewhat understandably, hedges on what the problem could be. Does find that the thermostat is no good so replaces. Tests the oven which goes well beyond the set temperature. Feels it's either a 'board', a 'controller' or both. Leaves me with a $500+ list of parts that are needed should we decide to have fixed. -We decide to go ahead. In ordering the parts, factory tells me that one of the part #s is obsolete and has become one of the other nymbers on the list. OK,things happen. Parts are ordered. -Parts arrive, service call re-scheduled (second vacation day). Tech arrives and announces that he's not going to fix it today as he has personal things to do. He calls his office. Comes back in and says that he will start the job but is leaving at 430 (service window was 1-5p). -Looks at parts and claims they're wrong. Explained that I ordered what was on the printout that he left after the initial call and that's what part warhouse explained. -He asked, 'who was I going to believe, the parts guy, or the tech he was on the phone with'. -AT his point I'm dumb-founded. -He calls comoany and tells them to un-cancel the appointment he cancelled to get to me, then leaves. -Call to KA, supervisor, absolutley useless. Referred to another company, who of course, will charge another diagnostoc fee. Will theystand behind any of this? Of course not. But in ending the call, 'is there anything else I can do for you today?' Advised that we will never again buy anything sold by KA (don;t think they really cared.) Now 1230 and still waiting to hear from second repair firm. We understand that the oven is 8 years old, we're willing o pay o have it fixed, and they still can't get it right. We are utterly appalled...

Well this is a major disappointment, but no surprise. Corporate Greed at its finest. I nearly bought the new KitchenAid gas double oven range. But no way now. I will save for a viking, or commercial brand. The knowledge it won't breakdown will be worth the wait and the money. None of the residential models for any brands are showing customer satisfaction. These companies take generations to buid a reputation of quality and then in just a short time million dollar yuppies suck the life out of it and destroy it while walking away with a serverance. Just completely sad. Even my formerly german made PFAFF embroidery machine is now in china. To Bad...

This is a real kicker!! I bought a kichenaid refrigerator. It was delivered. After the installer left I noticed on the front door was the name MAYTAG. Inside the frige is a sticker which says Kitchenaid I called the store and talked to the sales person. He says that these two products are made by the same company and are the same refrigerator. HA! Which idiot is responsible to make sure the correct name is on the front. In these times of depression WHY are we treated this way. First, I didn't really have the money for a new refrigerator. Second, I felt I was KICKED aside. Really now---is this the way to succeed in business? I am in the upper age range and am a single woman. I have had many appliances throughout these years. I simpathize with AMERICAN MADE. I won't be buying kichen- aid again. I should have read some of these reviews before shopping. Companies cry all you want! I have no compassion for you.

We bought 3 Kitchen Aid appliances for our renovated kitchen. One was just installed yesterday-the intake pop-up kitchen vent. It was a special order, so we had to wait 2-3 weeks for it to arrive. After our contrator installed it, it wouldn't work right, so he had an electrician look at it. He also said there was something wrong with it. It "hummed" but wouldn't go up and down. Finally it "decided' to work, but only for a second. Then it closed down and went to sleep." I was told to contact the store where we bought it.. They called their service technician who just left. He said it needed a whole new circuit board--that it was "messed-up." This will take another week to get the part in and have it fixed. This is a brand new product. Will someone please explain to me how this could have happened? It's a little scary to think about how the other appliances will work. We are VERY dissappointed.

Wow, its amazing that I am not alone in being completely disgusted with my KitchenAid stove. I paid 1100 dollars for it in 1999. Top of the line then. Twice I have had to have it repaired because of a design flaw. A boil over on the ceramic top results in liquid going down the vent which then contacts wiring and "pop" --a short which disables the oven. The first two times it happened the oven was on. Even though I have tried to be extremely careful to have no boil overs, it has happened again (third time) and this time the oven wasn't even being used!! The repairs have been expensive. I asked KitchenAid to replace my stove the second time it happened. Their credit they did pay part of the repair. What now?? I have called the number listed above. It is apparently not a working number!!! No more KitchenAid for me if I have to buy a new stove!!!

I am buying a Kitchen Aid Dishwasher for two reasons: 1) I have always had one, and 2) It is made in the USA. If it weren't I wouldn't buy it. Thank you for your loyalty to our wonderful country.

WOW WOW WOW.... My son is serving in Afghanistan and his debit card # was stolen... KITCHENAID is the only company that has charges against it that would not help... Basically said it wasn't thier problem and my bank needed to handle it... All other companies blocked that card from being used..... Kitchenaid charges keep coming in and even though the card is cancelled it posts for up to a week and overdraws the account.... RIDICULOUS customer service....

We purchased a KitchenAid oven in March 2008. Yesterday, when I shut the door, the out glass shattered, sending shards flying 5 feet to the right and left of the door. When I called KitchenAid today to report this, I was informed that as the oven was over a year old, this was not covered, even if it was a defect. When I suggested that it was dangerous, the lovely representative informed me that KitchenAid ovens are inherently dangerous (as stated on page 3 of their care guide) and that, furthermore, since no one was hurt, it was NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. Apparently if my son had been standing there and received glass shards in his face, it would have been a safety issue. So, be warned -- KitchenAId is happy to admit that its ovens are dangerous.

I bought a Kitchen Aid Dishwasher from Pacific Sales and two weeks later I had a leak! I called Pacific Sales first and they said it wasn't there responsibility and to contact repairman or kitchen Aid. Called for repair, the cost of parts was $264.00. Thanks to warranity I don't have to pay. Asked repair man if I could get exchange, and he said Kitchen Aid policy is if it can be repaired - repair it. I called Kitchen Aid and they stated the same, but maybe I could get Pacific Sales to make an exchange. Wow, what a merry-Go-Round! Nobody will assume responsibility for a 2 week old dishwasher that I thing will end up as a lemon. NO MORE PACIFIC SALES and NO MORE KITCHEN AID!

Please Forward to Upper Management. To whom it may concern, My name is David Lovelin and my wife and I chose to purchase an entire kitchen of Kitchen Aid appliances due to the reputation of being quality appliances. However, I am extremely disappointed when in just 4 years the $600.00+ microhood is not heating. I called the warranty department and they were great. I was told that they would send a technician to my house to diagnose the problem and then take care of the issue. I asked the customer service agent if there would be any costs associated with this and she informed me that it would all be taken care of and that there is no fee. I then took a half day off of work (I was told the work would take place between 8:00-12:00) to be home during the time of the repair. On the day of the repair I was called by the technician and he informed me that it would be a 129.99 service call and that I would be responsible for any parts and labor. I was incredibly upset and I canceled the service call. I then called back to the warranty department and was told that there is nothing they would do to rectify the issue. I then spoke to the manager and she just continued to tell me that my microwave was out of warranty and that I would be responsible for all costs. I would understand this if I purchased a $100.00 microwave but for over $600.00 I was completely appalled that they would not take care of this issue. Furthermore, because the warranty department misinformed me of the costs associated with this situation I was out a half day of work ($125.00), will have to recall a service technician (129.99), and take another half day off from work ($125.00) along with purchasing any parts associated with fixing this microwave. At this point I will be in this microwave for $379.99 before any parts are purchased. In speaking with the customer service manager, all I received was frustration. These appliances are supposed to be a top of the line product and unfortunately, for this appliance the workmanship is as of the same quality as the customer service. The manager only offered her apologies and nothing to rectify the situation. I know in my line of work when an employee of mine makes a mistake we take responsibility for it and make the situation right. I will be sure to let everyone I know that Kitchen Aid is a flakey company only interested in the bottom line. They do not care about the workmanship of their products or the experience of their customers. I will NEVER purchase a Kitchen Aid appliance or product ever again. I truly feel I would have been better off saving the money and buy a generic brand. David Lovelin

I purchased a Kitchenaid diswasher. It never worked correctly, in that it would remove the food particles but leave a massive odor. After over a year of scheduling service calls and telephone calls to the service department, there is no resolution. Kitchenaid is not interested in resolving the problem or replacing the dishwasher even though their cost of service calls probably exceeds the cost to replace the dishwasher. Kitchenaid provides the same canned response every time I call and offers no individualized assistance. I would never buy any Kitchenaid product again. I had a Whirlpool dishwasher previously which worked perfectly well. Perhaps the state Insurance Commissioner and/or Attorney General can assist. I have the extended warranty and a dishwasher that never worked and may be creating a health hazard and no assistance for Kitchenaid.

Exactly 2 years ago we completely remodeled our kitchen and purchased over $10,000.00 in KitchenAid appliances. Our French door refrigerator never sat right. It always looked like it was falling into the wall. My husband tried to level it and was frustrated that there was no way to level this fridge from front to back. He went on line and called customer service and was told there was no way to level this fridge. Upon moving the fridge out we also noticed that there was a bolt on the left side of the bottom of the fridge that was sticking out and gauging our hardwood floor when moved. On several occasions when I had KitchenAid repairman out to my home I would mention the leveling issue on the fridge and kept getting the same answer. One service company told us that you had to put shims in to level it. I have never heard of putting shims in a fridge to level it. We called KitchenAid and told them our situation and that the fridge was also at this point making a lot of noise. This was a few months ago. We did opt to extend our KitchenAid warranty through what I originally thought was KitchenAid directly but it is a third party company called Assurant. We were frustrated that we were stuck with a less than 2 year old $2,500 refrigerator, that we had to put cardboard in for shims to try and make it level and was now making a lot of buzzing noises. I called the warranty company and they told me they don't come out for noises. Next I called KitchenAid directly and they advised us to call the warranty company back and ask for a second opinion company. While we were on the phone with KitchenAid my husband realized that the noise was coming from the under belly of the fridge. It was vibrating on our floor. After calling Assurant they scheduled an appointment with a service company who never showed after we waited from 8 am - 5 pm on a Saturday for them. I called the warranty company back not to happy but they scheduled Quaker City repair service to come out. They actually had been the company assigned to us by KitchenAid under the first year manufacturer warranty period. I was not very impressed with them from the get go. The repairman came, and looked at my fridge. After looking at it, I asked him what he thought and he refused to tell me anything. He said I would have to wait for a call for his report. He wanted to consult with someone else. I persistently tried to get some information out of him. I have never had a repairman not tell me what the problem was with an appliance for a service call. This only confirmed my poor impression with this company. After one week of waiting to hear from them I called the warranty company who lied and told me they had no report from the service company. The only thing he told me was that the noise it was making could not be addressed until somethings breaks and he told me to put a shim under the part that was making the noise underneath. What professional repair people. I called the service company and they read me the report and confirmed that the warranty company had a copy of the report. The service representative did read me a copy of the report which stated "Base of the unit is bent and preventing left right wheel to be on floor causing unit to be unbalanced." They told me that it was not able to be fixed. Assurant the warranty company will not fix the fridge or even address the issue because they are saying that the fridge was like this from the get go and KitchenAid says that it is out of the original 1 year warranty and will not fix it. We have spent countless hours on the phone with KitchenAid and the extended warranty company that KitchenAid uses and have gone round in circles. Neither will take responsibility for it. So right now we have a pretty new fridge that has shims under the back to try to level it and shims under the belly pan area to keep it from making loud annoying constant buzzing noises. Which is still does constantly. I am ready to kick it to the curb. We are totally frustrated. Everytime we call we have to go through the same story and you would think that after 10 or more phone calls it would be on file. Somehow KitchenAid and the warranty company can't find our information each time. We are probably posting this on this website in vain but I am on a mission to post this information everywhere until someone listens and does something about my defective refrigerator. We are very unhappy with the lack of professionalism from KitchenAid's customer service, the repair companies that they use and the extended warranty company that KitchenAid offers.

I hope I'm not jinxing myself -- but every day, I think this can't be possible; this has to be its last day! Not so, so far. My Kitchen Aid DW was installed in 1985. It runs like a singing-top and at 74 (me) years old, I can only hope that I go first! LOL!! In all these years, I've had two service calls -- both times for one of those little wheels that carry the bottom slide-out basket. Both my daughters have new high-tech kitchens and $1000.00 current chic-brand DW's . Mine is superior on all levels: capacity, endurance, performance, value, etc etc. Anytime you decide to do a commercial depicting happy customers, count me in.

Where do I begin? I had a beautiful built-in Kitchen Aid refrigerator freezer installed 11 years ago. We splurged on this appliance for our new home and paid$3000.00 as we expected it to be the last one we'd probably ever need. (we're in our 70's now) It's had very gentle use as only the two of us have lived here. A month ago it went out. The repair man said it was a PC board. (control) I have contacted every company on line, called customer service at Kitchen Aid and Whirlpool. I have tried every antique parts place for appliances and the bottom line is no one has or will replace this part. I will have to buy a new refrigerator/freezer after 11 years. I still have the sales slip from our original purchase. An old refrigerator 20 years old in the basement is now handling all my food until I can get this problem solved. Wouldn't it have been nice to have someone at Kitchen Aid offer to help, find, replace, or do something? So one might want to stay with this company? The fellow I talked to said, "It is discontinued. I am sorry but you will have to replace this appliance". I say it will NEVER again be with a Kitchen aid appliance! Ann

I am currently on the phone with Kitchen Aide customer service and am being told after purchasing over $4,000 in appliances, that the knobs (which are plastic)& have already been replaced 1x, on a 2 year old stove are not under warantee either by them or Lowe's who I took an extended warantee with. they put me on hold now for the 3rd time while I wait to see if they can do anything for me (after I insisted they get a supervisor??) I will let you know the outcome of all this but from the looks of the other peoples complaints above it doesnt look good for the customer on Kitchen Aid products...should have read this website before assuming they were a reputable company jf
