Wow! Same as everyone is claiming, terrible customers service. They do not stand by their products. Appliances are terrible, they'll give the run-around and to top it off the replacement equipment/valves are defective. Never purchase anything manufactured by kitchenaid...and never go through Pacific Sales to purchase anything. They also do not stand behind what they sell. When going through customer service be sure to stay away from David at ext 6340. He is extremely inappropriate when dealing with customers. Don't know why he is in the position of "customer service". Guess this company will have another lawsuit on their hands. They don't even deserve the rating of "1 star". I would make 0 an option on the scroll down menu.
I recently purchased a kitchenAid Gas grill for nearly $800.OO AT Lowes. The very first time my wife used it she got a very nasty cut because of the very sharp edges of the metal. After closer inspection it was pretty obvious this was not a safe product to use. We took it back and bought a Weber instead. I was very disapointed to learn, like most junk you buy today, Kitchen Aid was no longer made in America and like most quality companies have sold out their quality and loyalty for the almighty dollar to China. Now I advertize to everyone I know about the misconseption that your products are still made in the USA. As far as my house is concerned we are done with Kitchen Aid China made products. What a shame.

KITCHEN AID ---- (JUNK ) Purchased a fridge cost me $ 2699.00 Feb 15,2012 Already replaced all doors because had rust !!! compressor went out !! And now Control Board for Ice &water has stop working !!! Now another service call! I'm sick of missing work over this . Customer service is a JOKE !!! I think ALL of us unhappy customer's should write letters to the Better business bureau !!! This product is made by Whirlpool /Kitchen Aid. All I know is I will NEVER buy this Cheap Made Crap EVER again !!!!!!
I will never buy another Kitchen Aid appliance again and I suggest that anyone who is reading this and it contemplating buying one, reconsider!!! I re-did my kitchen 6 years ago and bought all high end Kitchen Aid appliances....since then the board on my wall over went twice (one month after the one year warranty expired), the ice make on the refridgerator went and now the microwave motor is bad and useless. I do not abuse my appliances nor do I overwork them. I just know that everything they make is garbage and not made to last.....goodbye forever Kitchen Aid --- from me and everyone I can tell .....
my mom still has the original kitchenaid dishwasher from may 1970 when they moved into this house we still reside in!!!! used once/twice a week..still working!!! TEN STARS TO THE KITCHENAIDE FOLKS FOR A FABULOUS WELL MADE PIECE OF MACHINERY!!!
Didn't want to give any stars. Kitchenaid used to be a name connected with quality. Well no more. My refridgerater didn't last 4 years. Expensive to fix so we just junked it & bought a whirlpool. My mixer is wonderful but it is really old & probably made in America.
I cannot award less than one star for UK "Customer Unservice". I am sick of emailing them with a simple request for advice regarding my KitchenAid Mixer. Simply when the equipment is in use, the hinge pin keeps working out. Can I get a response? NO, just silence.
I purchased a black double oven Kitchen Aid gas range which was delivered on 1/31/12. The cost of this range was $2100. Four and one-half months later, I noticed the black finish in the area of the knobs showed signs of blistering in two places. Within a couple of days, the finish began peeling off exposing a base metal surface. I called customer service who stated that cosmetic damage is not covered in the warranty. I argued that this was a manufacturing defect. The customer service rep, Lucas, stated that it probably was a manufacturing problem, but since they did not know if there were any environmental hazards in my home that caused the problem, they were unwilling to replace the part. I could not believe the rational or lack thereof. After much arguing, he agreed to send a replacement part free of charge but I would have to pay any labor charges to install it. Luckily, the store from which I purchased the stove replaced it free of charge. After reading the comments that precede mine, I feel fortunate to have received any accommodation at all. When I purchased a KITCHEN AID product, I assumed I was purchasing a quality item from an honest company who took pride in their products. I was very, very mistaken. These people could care less. It appears that an integral part of their sales and marketing practice is "gottcha" Never, ever again will I buy Kitchen Aid products.
I bought an expensive home from a reputable builder who made the mistake of lading the kitchen with KitcheAid appliances. In 18 months every single KitchenAid appliance has ben repaired or replaced. The latest episode was the straw that broke the camel's back. The instant hot water heater (Model #KHWC260VCR) blew up and caused severe burns in my right forearm. On examination it has been determined that the very cheap plastic tank (made in China) burst under pressure from the hot water. KitcheAide's answer was that the water heater was 18 months old and out of warranty. They refused to acknowledge the fact that this is a safety issue. So, as much as I am against law suits I have decided to give this case to the nastiest attorney in town.
My new KA dishwasher ( 1-2012 in service) does a reasonably good job of cleaning the dishes. It is also very quiet and energy efficient. However , one would think the company engineers could design a durable silverware holder. The plastic hinge tops on the holder survive the drying heat with warped tabs. Thank God for zip ties, but the tops are no longer "hinge-able". Details do count. Time will tell on durability of the entire unit.

I used the lowest rating which is 1 star (poor). I'd give them -5 stars if I could. The quality of Kitchenaid/Whirlpool/Maytag products is so bad I will be happy if they simply don't burn my new house down. I spent $7,000 on kitchen appliances, $1,000 for installation and $1100 for a washer anmd dryer. I moved in Sept. 16, 2011 and started having problems almost immediately. The Service people from Easton PA have been great (except for the first one who didn't fix the problem with my ice maker, ordered parts and never came back or called back) but they have been here far to frequently. Without the boring details of broken products, the results have been looded floors, screaming smoke alarms, sweating fridge doors, scalding hot pots, burnt meals....yada, yada, yada. I won't call the Pres./CEO based on what I've read here. I am working on a plan to get the company and their products on 60 Minutes. The icing on my cake is a recent letter offering me an extended 3 year service plan for only $690 for just the kitchen stuff. What a company!!!
I bought 5 KitchenAid Appliances in 2008 (stainless steel refrigerator, stainless steel range, stainless steel washing machine, stainless steel microwave and garbage disposal). These appliances were expensive and I thought that since I was pauing top dollar (over $5,000) I was getting a trusted brand that would last a long time. Over the 4 years I have owned the appliances I have had to replace the motor in my range for the convection oven as it broke after two years ($350 to fix). I have had to replace the motor for the automatic ice dispenser in my refrigerator which cost over $400. The fridge broke after two years as well. Just today my dishwasher has a bad motor and I have been told that it will cost $550 to replace. Please do me a favor. I have had the worst experience with KitchenAid and when I ask for help I am told sorry your warranty has expired so we cant help. You are suppose to build products that last longer than two years and I feel the motors especially in your products are worthless. Maybe you should revisit your contract with your motor manufacturer in China. Worst products ever and will never ever buy again.
Can I give a zero star....My entire kitchen is high end Kitchen Aid appliances. I have had my dish drawers dishwasher for 6 years....seldom use the bottom and do not use the top but about once or twice per week...small family and we eat out a lot. Kitchen Aid stopped manufacturing our type of dishwasher due to quality problems a couple of years ago. I now own a 1500.00 piece of crap that is not supported by Kitchen Aid whatsoever. No one can fix it and Kitchen Aid will not give me any trade in value or break on cost of circuit boards. After 3 service calls and several to Kitchen Aid, I am convinced no one knows how to service this thing. As MUCH as I liked my dish drawers, I cannot replace or fix them. Although I would like for all of my appliances to match...hell will freeze over before I buy another Kitchen Aid anything. Their customer service sucks...they all sound like robots that repeat the same sentence...you are out of your 2 year warranty period....My front loader Kenmore expensive washer and dryer are going strong...10 years later....
I bought a brand new kitchaid refrigerator and kitchenaid dishwasher. Refrigerator installed in Jan 2012 and dishwasher installed in middle of April 2012. Part of refrigerator labe inside already peeling off. Service guy said that something like that is considered "cosmetic" and that would only be covered for 30 days. I said really...so if the lable is peeling after 2 months, hum...wonder how the rest of the refrig will hold up. He said use somem super glue and glue it back. I thought that was interesting but I let it go. My big PROBLEM is my brand new kitchenaid dishwasher which does not work. I have had it a month. It has never cleaned an entire load of dishes. I called the co I bought it from and they said they could offer a new one but I'd loose 20% up front because it is now a "used" dishwasher. I was shocked. They suggested calling service. I did. They came out. The checked it and said use (1) less detergent (2) put vinegar in sometimes (3) buy another product at the store to help with the grime left on the dishes (4) make sure I have cleaned the dishes because it is not a garbage disposal... I had already done all of these things...he didn't know what else to do. I called the co again I bought it from. They would do nothing but give a new one once I pay the additional 20%. I called customer service at 18004221230 and spoke to someone that took my complaint and I asked what happens now. She said nothing. She couldn't guarantee anyone would call me. I said so I am stuck with a lemon dishwasher and she said yes. So I called the corporate ofice to speak to Jeff Fettig and they said he was out of the country and did not speak to consumers anyway. I spoke to a member of his Executive Team, who also said that she does not normally talk to customers. I shared my issues and got the exact same response from her. The representatives of Kitchenaid have told me that they are aware I may have a lemon and there is nothing that they can do. I am shocked by the response that I've received from people representing Kitchenaid. Oh, also, the service person reminded me that these products will not last more than 10 years and so I shouldn't expect that they will. Wow - American - good job. I'd like to go back to the day when my Mo bought a refrig or any appliance and would know that it would last 20 years. We have really progressed.?? I am pretty frustrated and don't really know where to go. Guess I will run down and do my dishes by hand. I can just look at the face of the new SS dishwaser and appreciate the look I suppose. That is all I can do since it does not work. Kitchenaid - Whirlpool - you should be ashamed!
One nasty dishwasher, I will never buy anything associated with KitchenAid. The control pad electronics suck,
We are all willing to be proud of Made in America products. It requires investments in customer service training and it seems that KitchenAid does not care about it. It's sad.
My Kitchenaid dishwasher (Model No. Model KUD S3 0 I VWH3) is horrible and deserves zero stars. It doesn't clean the dishes (glasses, etc) in the top rack. 5 service calls in 2+ years have produced NO satisfying results. The often conflicting advice from service techs would be funny if it weren't so sad--try dishwasher cleaner, put the dish soap in the back of the tub (not the compartment on the door), put the dish soap in the compartment, and finally "wash the dishes before you put them in the dishwasher" (what should they call the appliance, then, a dish warmer/holder?). How does Kitchenaid get away with such poor quality appliances?
