As a matter of fact.....your rating is extremely Poor and a 1 is truly pushing it.

Danbury, CT Abercrombie/Fitch store has the world's worst employees. Had my 13 year old granddaughter and her mom shopping for clothes for this child....was spending a fortune on summer clothes. Asked salesgirls many different times for other colors, different sizes...whether an item was available from another store. Each time I asked, either I was ignored or salesperson asked another girl....The reality is that these employees are paid to fold clothes....but most just stand around looking cute. They are clueless and useless and extremely poorly trained. The fact that shopping took us 3 hours and we spent close to $600 made me rather sick to be giving this store my money. The clothes are great. The staff is beyond horrible. WHy isn't some corporate exec reading these comments and fix the problem?? Employees at Abercrombie and Fitch, my daughter in law says are equally bad in NYC and Florida...so it's not just this one store in CT. Yikes...a nightmare to shop there~

I went to store on 6/21/2011 around 5:00 p.m. located at Galleria Shopping Mall at Redondo Beach (Redondo Beach & Hawthorne)in California. The customer service is very poor. There were a lot of people were working but only one cashier. The line was long but they did not open another cashier. The workers at that store were mostly young kids and they were busy talking. I don't think I am going to visit that store again. There was a black lady with long hair was very rude and no customer skills what so ever.

I'm an employee at Abercrombie and Fitch. The one complain of many would be your concept of "call ins". I understand the purpose of it. You have a call in, in case people don't come to work or you are low in staff. Abercrombie and Fitch hires so many individuals to work for the store which allows no hours for anyone. The most I've ever worked is at least 10 hours a week or 5 hours and a call in. With the limited amount of hours as we grow up we have to find other jobs. Call ins interfere with them because we evolve our day whether we have to work or not. The concept is not necessary for Abercrombie. If it was a hospital call ins are perfect but Abercrombie and Fitch is far from it. I would also like to state that the managers and the whole Abercrombie brand defines themselves as diverse but throughout the store everyone looks the image and their is no individuality. Also, how can we purchase the clothes if the hours are bad. The pay is horrible. The corporate does not care for their employees. I know many, many people who work for Abercrombie and they stick with it because it is a job here and there but the satisfaction of those employees are very low. Employees are customers as well. They buy and bring in revenue when they are off their shift. I'm not even sure if writing this was worth while because I doubt you guys even care. In order to improve the company we have to learn to listen. So please listen and take some time to work this whole situation out. Thanks.

I just had a horrible shopping experience at the Orland Park, IL store today (5/28/2011) and cannot believe the "butt-chew" a manager gave a girl at the front who tried to help me. I was in the store for almost two hours shopping. I observed the girl folding clothes at the front tables as she greeting customers. When I told her I wanted to try on clothes but couldn't get into the fitting room, she called for someone to come to the fitting rooms. I waited and waited and waited. She finally went to the front desk and got a key to the women's dressing room. When I came out I overheard the manager chewing her butt because she left the front tables. I felt so bad because there was absolutely NO ONE else on the floor to ask for help. I had asked her for help and she got into big trouble. This girl was working hard and was friendly and helpful. She proceeded to help other customers because nobody else could be found on the floor. I walked both sides of the store and could not find another person to help me. I waited 20 minutes to get into the dressing room. That girl got into trouble two more times. I overheard her call numerous times for someone to open fitting rooms for other customers. No one responded and no one came. This is without a doubt the most poorly run store I have ever seen. She called for a manager repeatedly and no one came. She kept calling and calling. NO ONE responded. The corporate office should definitely check out this store and its poor management staff. The girl who got into trouble seemed to be the only one trying to help people or even in the store. She was moving fast and trying to make up for those missing in action. The managers are so worried about protecting their merchandise that nobody can try stuff on or make a purchase.

My first visit to Abercrombie was not exactly a pleasant event. We went to the Florida Mall location and my daughter wanted some jeans. We were helped by a young girl, maybe seventeen or eighteen years of age. My daughter chose a pair of jean after a while and was happy with what she wanted. I waited outside while my wife and my daughter shopped because the store has no room to move in the aisles. I am not a big guy, six foot one hundred eighty pounds. After thirty minutes or so my wife asked me to come back inside to take a look at what she had picked out. I agreed and my daughter wanted to try them on. So we walked to the counter and their were approximately fifteen to twenty people standing in line waiting to use 1 of 2 dressing rooms that were open to try on clothes. It looked like Universal Studios at the dressing room. I say room because that's what they were using to assist all these customers. I stated to the assistant manager, " do you only have the one dressing room?" She said, "yes!" I said, " What about the other four you have over there?" She stated, " oh that's our storage because we have no where else to put our back stock." I said, " are you kidding me? You're going to make all your customers wait to purchase clothing?" Not only am i not happy about purchasing something here, now i have to wait a half hour to let my daughter try one pair of jeans on. I am one of the managers at the biggest wholesale clubs around and we would never let our members wait for this length of time. In this case we would probably discount the item for our lack of customer service. My daughter was being rewarded for her school work so I purchased the jeans and created positive reinforcement like a father should, even though i wanted to spend my time with my family. I felt like I should get on the phone and call your corporate offices and let upper management know that this store was totally sucking up your payroll with five people behind the registers and the lack of dressing rooms. Not only that, you can't move in the store especially if you have a stroller. It's totally a liability with the racks and tables so close. Along with the loss your'e going to incur with people shoplifting. That was my first visit. My second visit gets even better because we had to return the pants because they just did not fit her after one washing. So we packed up, drove to the mall, and walked in the store and again four people behind the counter. One young girl on the floor assisting customers. I kind of said to myself that would not happen at my place of business. We would be counseling the managers of that department. My wife walks to the counter with myself and asks to exchange the jeans the young girl says, "do you have the receipt?" My wife turns to me and asked if i had it. I said, "It's at home because i cleaned my wallet out, but I can give you the card I purchased them on. The girl behind the counter said, "We have to have the receipt." I thought to my self again, "If i ever talked to one of our customers that way i would be having a sit down with my boss." I stepped around my wife and said, "Let me speak to the store manager please!" She said, "Okay!" A girl about twenty walks out. I let her know what I wanted to do and she said, "I have to have the receipt." I said, "This is the card I purchased them on. Can't you just look it up?" She stated, "We have to have the receipt." I said, "Okay, could I speak to your boss?" I thought she was the store manager and she says, "Hold on, I will get him." I said to my wife, "Can you believe they would leave this store in the hands of a bunch of young inexperienced teenagers? Its obvious they are unaware that we pay for them to be in that place of business." We do everything under our power to make our customers happy so that they have a pleasant experience and want to return to our location. We strive for excellence to further our company. These kids need to be put through formal business training with the company before they lose business over a fifty dollar pair of jeans. We have so many people that would kill for a job let alone work somewhere while they were going to school. I was astonished. The store manager came out from the back and again he states the same thing. Then says to my wife, "You washed these wrong!" I'm saying to myself, "Are you kidding me? You're going to tell the customer that she washed the jeans correctly? How does he know?" With this my blood pressure is boiling as my wife says, "How do you know I washed these wrong?" He says, "You have to turn them inside out." Little does he know we own a daycare and my wife has done the kids clothes at our business for almost twenty years. "I said, "You know what? What is your'e name? He states, "Nate" I said, "Let me have your corporate number." He says, "We don't have a corporate number." He hands me a card and says, "Email them!" I said, " What are you serious?" I said, "What's your last name?" He says, "I'm not telling you." I said, "You already gave me the store number, is giving me your last name that big of a deal? They know your last name!" Anyway, its totally off the wall to me in my twenty years of dealing with irate customers and hard to deal with customers to experience the way my wife and I were treated in from of our 3 young children. We were treated very poorly at that store on 2 different occasions. Please place these management associates in some type of leadership training and teach this store manager Nate how to communicate with the people that are paying for him to sit in the back room and not be out on the floor selling clothing. This location was store #20233 This store manager Nate was very rude! All we wanted was for our daughter to have a pair of jeans that fit her for longer than 1 washing.

I worked with this company for 4 years and saw all of the in's and out's of the way they work. They are hands down the worst company to shop with. Why you ask? let me explain. We are instructed to follow African Americans when they enter the store. We are instructed to follow people who are overweight because the company assumes "they cannot fit into the clothes so they must be stealing". I have seen several phenomenal interviews while working there. The manager even agreed that the candidates gave perfect answers. However, they were not hired because they weren't attractive enough. "She was too ugly" - My ex managers words exactly. All customers doing returns are questioned as if they are criminals. Even those with a receipts. The managers are stuck up, condescending individuals with no common sense. They believe because they work for such an "awesome" company, that they can be rude, not only to customers, but to employees as well. We are not legally required to wear their clothes, but I've been told before if I don't buy and wear what they want me to wear, I would not receive any hours. Catch 22 right? I can't remember the last time I was given a break which is required by law. We rarely honor our price points. If something is ticketed wrong, even if it is our fault, we'll argue it. We were instructed that if a whole stack wasn't marked incorrectly, we are not allowed to change the price. Its a disgusting place of business that is sadly driven on by their decent clothing line. I finally quit last week and could not be happier to be gone.

I was shopping in youe store on yesterday. I bought five shirts for my daughter. She decided that she didn't want them so I handed her the receipt and told her to take it right back. When she went in to return the items the staff was very rude and nasty!!!!! When she came out the store she looked very annoyed. I asked her for the receipt so I could make sure that they put the money back on my credit card. To may surprise they give her a gift card. Why a gift card,I don't know when I just made the purchase with my credit card. When I went in the store to have them make the adjustment I was met with something that I had never experience before RACISM in 2011!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The sales clerk was so RUDE and NASTY. He talked to me as if I was some kind of uneducated fool. What he didn't know was my father is the head of the NAACP!!!!! So,yes we will be possibly filing a lawsuite!!!!! Please teach your sale clerks to treat people with respect and kindness. After all, if it wasn't for us the consumers, they would be out of a job.

Have an issue with a manager and an employee in the Chino Hills store. Communicating by email is terrible. I have sent several emails and all I get is an automated response or no response at all. If the employees are rude to the mall management, I can only imagine how they are to the customers.

I am a member of One Million Moms and we are appalled that you would market a "push-up/padded" bikini top for girls, little girls from 7-14.It shows a lack of concern for the saftey of these children as you pander to the tastes or preferences or pedofiles and perverts. We would like to see this sort of thing halted before a tragedy occurs, not after. These children will also grow up feeling as if they're not adequate since they are told by society they should have marked curves at that age; when nature dictates otherwise.

A PADDED BRA FOR 7 YEAR OLDS?????????????? WHAT THE $%^& IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The store located in Alderwood Mall, Lynnwood, WA is the worst store I have ever been in from the South West to the North West! The managers have no clue what customer service is. Who insults workers in front of a store full of customers? There is no professionalism whatsoever! I was so embarrassed and had to drop an arm full of clothes that took me sometime to choose. Where are they picking up these incompetent "managers"? They might as well hire more 16 year olds and give them the manager title. I’m so glad my kids don’t work there!!!

Please be advised effective today, my family and I (5 members) will no longer purchase from or support your brand. The promotion and sale of padded bikini tops for LITTLE girls 7 to 8 years old is absolutely appalling!!!!! I'm extremely disapointed in what the brand has become and the direction it is going. I hope you reconsider your marketing efforts. Its not healthy for our youth or our society. Thank you for your attention! A very concerned parent......

I came very close to punching the store manager in the face today. She accused me of wearing the clothes I was returning and said she refused to exchange them. She was very very rude and insinuated that I was a liar. after a five minute argument she finally agreed to exchange them. I was not going to leave the store until I got my way and luckily I did get my way otherwise I would be writing this in jail right now.

my husbands credit card number was stolen and used to purchase goods online and Abercrombie refused to give us the "ship to" address so we could pursue legal action. WE have to jump through hoops to bring this young punk to justice while THEY protect his theft. I will NEVER purchase another thing from this place. We WILL get this information by going through the hoops but I find it to be unfair and unjust treatment of a theft victim. THEY should be held accountable for the over $500.00 purchase for not confirming the cardholder identity properly. BEWARE!

It's obvious Abercrombie employees do NOT check id when purchases are being made. I had $400 dollars stolen out of my checking account due to fraud. This would of never happened if the employees were trained on checking id AT ALL TIMES!!! This is not ok and corporate needs to know about this problem!

I agree with mary ann!! They did me the same way! I do not appreciate that...people deserve no type of respect frum us as customers...no longer will I shop there! To hollister I go!!

I wear Abercrombie & Fitch clothing, but I do not pay for them. After many rude encounters at their store, including once when a female employee intentionally bumped into me, then I overheard her talking to another associate, saying she couldn't stand all the ugly people in the store at christmas time. I then decided that I would no longer pay for their bullshit. Their loud music, dark stores and horrible customer service make my life so much easier. I've saved around 4,000 dollars helping myself to the excellent selection of trendy clothing. Thanks Abercrombie, for hiring the dumbest people on the face of the earth.

This is wrong information! The above phone number is NOT A & F - its DSW. good heavens get your information correct. A&F does have children running the operation! Terrible Customer Service.
