i worked as a server at the waffle house (store # 1231) in Springfield Missouri and was fired over a bad upper respiratory infection they filed it as a attendance violation an apparently there was a complaint on me saying religious remarks even though i know for a fact i wont even speak religion in work period but was released on the attendance violation even though i had permission from my district manager to have a couple days off as long as i had my doctors note. well i had a doctors note and showed it and that didn't even save me. Now i haven't even gotten my w-2 and its February 12th. i could care less that that they put me as eligable for rehire i just want my w-2 hell it was even on my birthday they fired me dec 30th i nean what crap is that i was always on time i always went an hour early for just in case they needed someone to help and always went in when they needed hours filled. they fire me over a sickness but they don't fire the cook that was 3 hours late and i had to cook. hell they didn't even give me my red star certification test and i was there 5 months. PLUS im not even trained to cook but the store manager had me do it. anyone have any ideas on what i can do here... jclayton899@live.com

last night at7:45 your williamsburg road location, I asked for hot tea, extra lemon and sweet and low. With only family members in the store that called the waitress mom , they were well taken care of and no chore undone for them. After asking for sweet and low and lemon 2 times that never came, I got up and left at 8:10. how far down the I.Q. ladder do you need to be to work at one of your locations? I see the same type of service at other place's here except Broad street store.

I just wanted to let the public know waffle house will be getting sued for failure to protect patrons from nasty thugs that they serve.Maybe when you go to eat next time bring a gun and defend yourself .... i will

my daughter, myself, and two grandsons just came from the waffle house in piqua, ohio. we ordered 3 chicken & egg meals, and the breakfast meal that comes with a waffle. I requested soft scrambled eggs, and the boys & their mom well done eggs. mine were no where near soft scrambled, but that I could deal with. Not many people get soft scrambled eggs right. But the other 3 ordered well done eggs. How hard should that be??? Two were cooked up so that they resembled some bakery puff thing, not noticeable as fried eggs! Other grandson received sausage on saucer, then approximately 5 mins later plate with egg & toast on it. this egg was soft in the middle,runny yoke all over his plate. That one was sent back. The young male cook placed that one back on the grill to cook more. Didnt think that was the right thing, but was willing to see what he came up with. Not good! requested he start over. Then brought something to the table so overdone I would have been ashamed to serve to my family at home, much less place before a paying customer!!! My daughter and I requested onions with our hashbrowns. First time I've had hashbrowns delivered to me topped with raw, completely uncooked onions. Needless to say, at this point I was ready to snap!! Incompetence is not my thing!! Manager, a slender blonde, had waitress suggest 20% off for the egg fiasco. As if that is sufficient. I will be contacting district manager Lisa at wapakoneta store tomorrow a.m., as well as contacting corporate headquarters. This young man is not ready to be cooking alone, without supervision and guidance!! What I'd like is for the person who made the decision to put him out there as a cook to have to come there and eat eggs prepared as ours were!! Eating out is about enjoying ourselves, as well as feeding the hunger. Needless to say, this was such a frustrating experience, there was no enjoyment!!

The waffle house in Blairsville, GA is awful!!!!!!!!!!!!! The owner rushes you out so others can sit, when you havn't even finish your meal. The food is nothing to write home about at all. It didn't take long if it had came out right. All I heard were the wait staff complaing about each other how hard they all work and thier MOTHER ownes two waffle houses. I won't be going back in there at all... Do they do drug testing there?? Maybe they should. I don't know about all shifts, but I'm talking about the morning 8:00am til maybe 2:oopm.........

I was a server in $ different waffle houses, two in canton,oh and two near warren,oh. The waffle houses in canton,oh unit #1638 and #1747 have the worst district manager. He does not care about his employees and I was cussed out for calling off because i hurt my back. How am i supposed to waitress a 10 hour shift with twisted ligaments in my back? Unit 1638 need better management and employees who care about theyre customers not just the money. And definatly not so rude.

well i also worked for the waffle house here in wilson and i had some good days and some bad days, i treated my customers with the greatest respect and when i was terminated that was cool with me because i have another job and i love it . i will not never work at the waffle house anymore because the way they fired me was uncallfor and that is all i can say for that issue.

I work in lafayette louisiana and I got fired because i developed a servere cough... I called the manager to tell her that I need to leave because two orders came back because they saw me coughing at the grill... I ended up leaving and going to the er... I have servere bronchitis... they fired me for that...

My family loves waffle house.!. We are eating here as I am writing this. We live in Grove Oklahoma and would love for a waffle house to come to Grove we currently drive at least 45 min to eat here. So if you could get it closer to us that would be awesome

Went to a waffle house on hwy 80 ga near Pooler the chef their didn't even glance at the gloves that he was supposed to be using ( state law) cut open a steak and continued to cook 3 other orders without washing his hands or using gloves I refused to the food this is not clean or sanitary by any means and action should be taken!!!

I love going to the Waffle House on hwy 29 behind the on the run gas station. The 3rd shift is great and the 2nd shift is funny. They are very kind and you can tell they really know their customers. The laugh with you and still do a good job at serving you. Cadillac is great on 3rd and very fun to be around. Jessie on 2nd is a blast, you can never be in a bad mood around her. This waffle house is the greatest one i've ever been too and i've even worked at waffle house before. (not this one though) But never have i been in a waffle house so clean and fun as this one. we went to the waffle house in Batesburg-Leesville, SC. it was AWFUL. the staff acted like they didn't want to wait on us, they had a cook who looked like he was aobut 18 and didn't have a clue. Shame. my husband and i enjoy eating at Waffle House, most are really nice, but this one was REALLY BAD.

I worked at waffle house for 3 years in the last year i worked Hurt my back in the store and had really bad back pain the next day after my shift i went to the hospital and had test run. I had hurt my back bad one of my disc in my back had slipped i took the paper work from the hospital to my manager and it took them almost a week and a half to get workmens comp filed. it was a joke. shortly after X-Mas I was fired I was never writen up or signed any paper work I know Ga. is a right to work state but i know they still have to let you know. After i was informed that I was on the DHL list it took me from the first of the year till june to be removed once i was removed i went and reaplyed for my job back but at another store, at theat time I was 6 months pregnant but was hired back i work about a total of 2 weeks and then was taken of the scadual being told by the district manager at store #747 that he did not want to have to put up with a pregnant woman in his store this was 3 weeks latter after i had worked to clean the store from the pig pin it was to looking half way nice. I was fired becasue i was pregnant and having mood swings which I fill was wrong. at the time Greg Berk was the district manager at this store i dont know if he still is or not but he needs to be fired and put on the DHL list.

The waffle house on Taylorsville Rd in Louisville KY needs to be looked at, they are really rude! I placed a carry out order and asked for my total I was told to call back and they would have my total thought this was strange, but did so anyway when I called back up there to get my total I was told that the waitress didn't have time to get my total and to just come get my food. Wondering how hard it is to add numbers into a register or calculator I know they have them!

the staff @ unit 871 in conover nc is the friendliest upbeat staff ive ever seen @ a waffle house with a few exceptions when things go wrong as an employee of the food service industry i understand that. however the manager there is absolutely horrible!!!! He has absolutely no idea what he is doing how he finished his managers training is beyond me, I have visited this location on many occasions and on all 3 shifts and always get good food and friendly service but you need to do something with the manager

i have read your posts, and i also have seen the mistreatment of employees regarding theft, poor management, etc...i quit, but felt like i had no choice, because i was dreading coming in to a job which i loved to do. have been with waffle house since 1994. beause i walked out, with good reason, i have been "blackballed" by new management, to work at any waffle house...the ones that call out and don't show...still have their jobs...anybody who would like to contact me, feel free to at: ambergrisk@yahoo.com would like to talk more in depth of your experiences...

THE WORST WAFFLE HOUSE I HAVE EVER BEEN IN......STORE # 922... the 2 people working, acted like they didn't even want to be there, they didn't want to take orders. Ordered the All-star and our food came out at all different times, with our waffle coming out after we had eaten. It sat on the counter for 10 minutes and was cold. The plate of bacon came out after the plate of food came out. There was a lady complaining about her eggs in her take out order, so I guess the cook was mad about it. The cook was throwing plates across the room from the cookline to the dirty dish bin under the counter. The drawers underneath the grill was open so the the cook took his foot and kicked it closed. That was pretty bad considering everyone can sit there and watch you. We sat at the counter and saw this take place. I was never asked if I wanted a refill, and after the food arrived the waitress never came back to check on us except to bring the food at different times. This by far was the worst experience I have ever had at a Waffle House.

The evening of Dec. 28 my husband and I had dinner at the Waffle House in Denton, Tx. The food was delicious and the waitress did everything right. My gripe was with allowing two obnoxious customers to sit in the small area and puff one cigarette after another. I could hardly breathe and by the time we left my throat was sore. My husband, many years ago, lost part of a lung indulging in the stupid habit of smoking. He HAD to quit 46 years ago!!!!!!! The doctor told him never to come back for a checkup if he didn't. In that era no one had the information as to how devastating smoking and especially second hand smoke is a destruction of the human repiratory system. Why the personnel let those two (one male and one female) smoke and smoke and smoke and never ordered a thing. That couple had better not think that incessant chain smoking will not harm them. That is what all smokers think nowadays. With all the information that is available, NO ONE SHOULD SMOKE especially in a restaurant.
