I bought my son illuminators that he had been waiting for for months. They were $50 roughly and he was only 5 1/2... within less than a couple months they stopped lighting up. it wasnt just my son's but two of our neighbors children had the exact same shoes with the same problem.. 4 or 5 months after i bought them the soles started to come apart and within 2 months after that the bottoms looked shredded just from playing outside. I called Skechers to see if there was a defect that had been corrected. The woman first told me they had never had a complaint and told me that about 3 to 6 months was normal for a sneaker to wear out. But it was for all brands. I told her I begged to differ since I have 5 kids and he is a my middle child and never had any issues with shoes falling apart so quickly. They were very rude and apparently don't care to address the issue.
My 1 1/2 year old has the twinkle toes. while we were driving in the car (she is teething) i kept telling her to stop biting on her shoes. Come to find out when i got her out of the car that she eat 29!!!! 29 of the beads off her shoes. We ended up in the ER because they were concerned about a blockage from having so many metal beads in her stomach. Thank God she is ok, but that is horrible how easily she was able to get these beads off. I am VERY disapointed! and will not be bying the sketcher brand again!
I've been wearing the same pair of Skechers Shape-Ups since December 2009. I wear them every day. They are comfortable shoes, and I like the way they feel on my feet. However, I have had excruciating hip pain in my hips since April 2011. I've been seeing a chiropractor for my pain, but it isn't helping. Ibuprofen does very little to alleviate my pain. The pain has gotten so bad that I am barely able to sleep 3 hours a night. It is uncomfortable for me to sit or stand, and I can no longer walk long distances without having excruciating pain. I cannot work, and it has gotten to the point where I am having difficulty performing everyday tasks at home, like washing dishes and cooking, because it requires me to stand in one spot. Just today I realized that maybe my hip problems are caused by the shoes. They are not worn out or falling apart, and there is still adequate tread on the bottoms of the shoes. There is no disclaimer that I can find that says that you should get rid of the shoes after having walked a specific distance on the same pair of Skechers Shape-Ups, say 150-200 miles, before getting a new pair. I wear my shoes like I drive my cars, until they're falling apart. I have a brand new pair of Nike walking shoes that I'm going to wear to see if the pain lessens. That should tell me whether or not it was the Shape-Ups. I went to Google Skechers Shape-Ups and hip pain, and was shocked at the number of claims that are popping up that are very similar in nature to mine. I'm going to ask my chiropractor to take x-rays of my back and hips this week for documentation.
OMG!!! I swear by Skechers Shape-ups, I am on my feet over 12 hours a day as a healthcare worker and had developed plantar faciitis. The pain was incredible. On the suggestion of a friend, I bought these shoes and within days I could walk without pain and didn't even want to take them off! I recommend them to anyone I can, warning them of course that they may not work for them but they did WONDERS for me. The money I saved avoiding the potential surgery alone makes the purchase of this shoe worthwhile...
Bought a pair of working sketchers shoes at sears lasted 4 months tried to get a new pair but they say nothing could be done will never buy sketchers again
I thought I had problems with my skechers but after reading the above reviews, decided my problem wasn't as bad ss some of theirs. I thought I just had a faulty pair. However it appears the larger percentages of your shoes must be faulty and that makes it pretty expensive for people who really can't afford such expenseive shoes and do with out other things to buy them. You are making fools out of the customers and I an unfortunate to be one of them. Seems you dodn't make any effort to correct a wrong and in your case a lot of wrongs. You should be ashamed cheating the public like you are doing. HWP of California
Hi I would just like to tell you that your Shape ups are fabulous I am 68 years young and have worn most of your shoe and trainer styles. I have neuropathy and arthiritis so I have pain all the time in my feet and your products especially shape ups make it easier to wlak. i have told all the older people with walking problems to try your range and that it makes walking life easier. i am actually addicted to skechers i have so many pairs my daughter says I need therapy if I see different ones in shop I buy them. thank you you have made an old lady very happy. Love you Skechers.
I purchased a pair of Skechers Tone-ups while on vacation and in less than an hour of wearing them, my feet were cut up. In trying to work with Skechers customer service, or should I say "no customer service", group, I kept getting the same response. Send the things to them, at my cost; IF they find the are defective they will replace them. If they find they are NOT defective, and I want them back, I will have to pay to have them returned to me. What a deal -- NOT!!!! THIS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE?!?!?!?!? I tried to explain to them that I believe the cut of the style I purchased is not good for me and would just like a replacement with a different style (a month after all of this, I still have scars where the cuts were). What answer do I get -- same one -- send them back to check if they are defective, pay shipping both ways if I want them back.
I bought my daughter a pair of Twinkle Toes less than 2 months ago. The material on the toe of the shoe around the lights is fraying away from the show. The flowers and peace sign design on the side are peeling off. They look absolutely horrible! I am very disapointed by this product. My daughter is only 2.5 and only wears them 1-2 times a week and never to play outside in. These shoes are poorer quality than the cheap shoes you can buy at Walmart/freds for $10! Do not buy them for your child unless you like wasting money!
i bought a pair of work sketchers in dec and now the toe is out of both shoes..paid over 70 dollars..upset they didnt last no time
I bought a pair of outdoor lifestyles sandals to wear at my landscaping job. They are very comfy, but I had less than a week and the soles of the shoes are falling apart already. I find it sad to spend good money on something that claims to be for outdoors but doesn't hold up.
I have been wearing Shetcher shape-ups for 2-yrs but my last pair was a Christmas present and I now have severe pain in my left hip going down my leg into my foot! Will not buy another pair!
I just want to tell you how wonderful the salesperson was at the Universal City, CA location. Her name is Arpi and she was not only friendly, but very knowledgable.
I bought my 5 yr old for his birthday a pair of the headlights shoes he wore them one time to school and comes home the headlight is stuck on and wont go off almost 60.00 54.99 plus tax for these shoes he only wore one time the shoes are very cheepley made but yet so exspensive
i bought a pair of sketchers in dec and they have fallen apart,, very poor workman ship
I have wore nothing but sketchers since they came out. I have done hair for over 20 years, and now I am managining my families diner. I started wearing these shoes do to bone spurs. Everyone laughed at first because they weren't very attractive. I just laughed. I didn't care they made my feet feel good. I then started having bad knee and hip problems, but didn't assoicate them with the shoes. It wasn't until I started reading about everyone else having the same problems. My right knee swell so bad right underneath. My hip keeps my awake at night. I don't know what to do. They do help my feet, but are causing alot of other problems. I even notice that my feet seem to rolling.
I purchased two pairs of Sketchers toning shoes. One to wear outside and one for the treadmill. Before wearing them, I was walking over an hour nearly everyday and in great shape. I watched the dvd and started out slow with short increments of time. I never fell or twisted an ankle or anything like that but after one month of wearing these shoes... I have a pain in my butt area where the thigh meets and pain down the back of my leg...since October. My knee hurts now too coming down stairs. The pain won't go away. I soak in the hot bath tub and stretch and it won't stop hurting. It's even painful to sit at my desk now and have to keep flipping over in bed at night. I miss taking my walks! It hurts to sit.
After buying Sketchers Shape-ups I was excited to have them as the concept seemed like it would be a great investment. I bought the new model called TONERS. They don't have the back of the shoe cut out but do the same things but from the inside design that drops your heal. I wore them for my workout sessions and for walking. Now my heals are very painful. I have shooting pains like firing currents, like a needle is sticking in them. I can hardly walk! The shooting pain is through the ridge on the edge of my heals, and it makes my whole foot feel sore. I have never had any kind of foot problems. I cannot go on walks or push my feet very far as it just makes it worse. I wouldn't even put those shoes on again! Seems the design rubs the edge of your heal with each step until the nerves get set-off! Irresponsible design. Am calling the company. They should be recalled.
My Wife's foot folded over today and she broke her leg at the ankle in three places. These shoes are dangerous. Please stay away from them.
I too had purchased a pair of Sketchers. At the time I was quite impressed with the comfort as well as the overall appearance of the shoe, believing I had made a decent investment in a decent product. After just a period of 2 months, it was evident that the stiching was fraying and now, 3 months into the game, all the seams are coming apart. I contacted the store where the shoes were purchased as I was having trouble finding the receipt only to be informed that as 2 months had passed, even with the receipt, the best they could do would be to resew the areas which were coming apart. It is so disheartening that so many of the products we buy, and pay a lot of money for, are so poorly made. It is even more disheartening when the institutions that sell these products close the doors on the consumer the minute the purchase is made. It's hard to love the world sometimes!!! boomdiada, boomdiada, boomdiada,etc.. Not so great a world afterall!!!
