It's very unfortunate that you have to give these a**holes at least one star. I was renting a washer/dryer set, and after I was able to buy my own through someone else, I called RAC asking for them to pick up the set. They never showed up during the time and date that they had given me, so the next day my family and I went on a vacation. To our SHOCK, when we returned, we found that RAC had broken into our house, taken the washer and dryer, and PERSONAL ITEMS INCLUDING OUR RENT MONEY!! They admitted to taking the washer and dryer, (as it was back in their store already) but wouldn't admit to stealing our other things. We currently have a lawsuit against RAC. DO NOT EVER RENT FROM THESE CROOKS!!!

I'm truly unhappy with your business practices. In reading the above complaints, I really don't think this company cares. I purchased a 65" TV and stand from your company a year ago for Father's Day. It was the first time I dealt with RAC for any reason. While looking over the products before the delivery, I noticed the nice TV stand had scratches and marks on it. I brought this to the Manager, Debbie's attention, only to be told it was the only stand in stock at that time that would accomodate the TV that I was purchasing. Debbie (Who manages a St. Cloud, Florida store) pretended to care and stated that she would get a new stand in or lower the price of the used table that had scratch marks on it. After about a year of payments (on time), Debbie has yet to switch the used stand for a new stand or adjust the contract purchase price. I have spoken with several employees from this store regarding this matter and I have requested on each phone call (approximately 12 over a 5 month period)to speak with Debbie the store manager. Each time I call or they call me the day of a payment, I am told that she is busy with a customer and will call back. Up to this date, I have not received a call back from Debbie, nor has the company replaced my used stand for a new stand. The last phone call between your company and myself took place on Wednesday Mar. 9th, 2011, where I was advised by an employee that basicly Debbie would not be returning my call so if I did not want to pay for the stand they would be happy to pick it up. If this is the way your company practices their business then I don't ever want to deal with them again and I will never encourage anyone else to do so. However, I will make it my personal crusade to let those in the Kissimmee, Florida area, as well as the St.Cloud, Florida area that this managing team and team of employees are liars, dishonest, and extremely unprofessional and not to deal with Rent A Center.

I have been a frequent customer of rentacenter for many years and have previously paid off an item...i now have a laptop wich i stupidly am paying almost 1500.00 for and it is almost paid off. I am on unemployment and draw 80 a week i have gotten behind before and they always worked with me now i am a week behind but get paid tomorrow and they are absolutely refusing to work with me now. i understand that they need to come and get the washer and dryer since its a new item and im not upset about that i wouldnt have the funds to pay for it right now anyway but i am terribly upset about the computer for it is my husbands only way of communicating with his potential clients since he has now started a landscaping business. I will no longer rent, purchase or even recommend anything or anyone to use rentacenter from this point on. Terribly dissatisfied with their customer service relations and poor nasty attitudes (johnny). Don't purchase anything from the gadsden alabama store ....this store is lacking professional customer service attributes!

I am totyall disappointed, in this store, its located in Durham NC on North Duke Street...I was refered to them, it took them a very unsusaul time to verify my information to even get furniture from them, afetr verifying my job and lease, and the 10 references that they ask for and called. The buisness ethics are HORIBLE.....My son passed....they asked me to let them come get the furniture, I agreed but it had to be when I returned back home after the funeral...they asked me could i come back before the funeral so they can retrieve the merchandise.......SMDH....I was 2 days behind because it slipped my mind about the payment.....furniture my son....furniture my son.....was I wrong for hanging up on them and the funeral arrangemets hadnt been completed

I rented a lap top computer at a rate of $72.00 every two weeks from your store on 75th & Thomas in Phoenix, Arizona. I called the store to inquire when my last payment was due and was told it would be due on the 25th of February. On the 25th of Feb. I went into the store to make my last payment of $45.00 and was told I was a day late and if I wanted the computer it would cost me an additional $289.00 more because I was late. I did not believe I was late as I was told the date was the 25th. The manager said that was a mistake and it was due on the 24th. I should not be held responsible for their error. They took my payment of $72.00 (which I thought would be the last payment) but again was told that I had to start all over again with payment if I wanted to keep the computer. PLEASE HELP. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. I feel as if I'm being held hostage and if I don't continue making payments on a computer that I cannot own but should have already made the last payment your store is going to ruin my credit. I never missed a payment, never. I made my payment in person every two weeks. Although your store found it necessary to call me every two weeks to let me know that my payment was due. Is this the way your company does business? I am a single mother and a professional housekeeper. If you cannot resolve this issue in a timely manner I am prepared to take it to my local TV station. My husband just brought me the RAC paper from our mailbox. He thought we should get a living room set, stove and flat screen television from them. However, after reading all of these complaints on this page, I have decided to look elsewhere (especially since the store we would have gone to is actually listed above by their address)! I'm sure there are much more reputable places to purchase items from that don't use threats, scare tactics and repeated phone calls. Sorry RAC, you just lost our business!

The driver of the renter truck was very high on drugs after he droped off the the product he ran into my car and did a lot of damange we have called and called this company and to get their insurance information they claim that I have to talk to the branch manager we have called several times and no answer.

we purchased some merchandise from a texas furniture which was aquired by rent a center,and payed on wendsday,we scheduled a delivery for friday and when we went back to falllow up they put us off till the fallowing monday,our daughter has no bed,we have no living room furniture,

THIS HAPPENS TO BE AN URGENT MATTER! THERE IS A STORE IN MILWAUKEE, WI ON TEUTONIA AVE. (P93) THERE HAVE BEEN SOME SERIUOS ISSUES WITH THIS STORE. THE MANAGEMENT THERE IS RIPPING CUSTOMERS OFF AND BLAMING EVERYTHING ON THEIR DELIEVERY DRIVERS! MANAGEMENT IS CHARGING CUSTOMERS FOR NEW FURNITURE AND SENDING THEM USED FURNITURE INSTEAD. AND IF/WHEN THE CUSTOMER CALLS AND COMPLAINS ABOUT IT, THEY BLAME IT ON THE DELIEVERY DRIVERS AND TELL THE CUSTOMERS THAT ANY DAMAGE WAS DONE BY THEM. I KNOW THIS INFO DUE TO THE FACT THAT I'VE TALKED TO THE DRIVERS BECAUSE IVE KNOWN THEM FOR AWHILE NOW. AND I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OF IT. THEY ARE CONSTANTLY GETTING YELLED AT IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS AT THE STORE AND ARE ASK TO DO WORK OUTSIDE OF THEIR JOB DESCRIBTION THAT MANAGEMENT IS SUPPOSE TO BE DOING. MANAGEMENT HAS ALSO BEEN ASKING THEM TO MOVE AND PICK UP FURNITURE WITHOUT PROPER PAPERWORK! NOW, MOST RECENTLY, THESE POOR DRIVERS ARE BEING ACCUSED OF STEELING SOME LABTOPS FROM THE STORE IN WHICH SOMEONE (IN MAMGEMENT) ASKED THEM TO GO REPO FROM A CUSTOMER WHICH CAUSE THEM TO GET BACK TO THE STORE AFTER HOURS. (THIS HAPPENS ALOT) WHEN THEY GOT BACK TO THE STORE, THEY CALL THE SAME GUY WHO SENT THEM(I BELIEVE HIS NAME WAS GIOVANNI)BECAUSE HE ALREADY LEFT AND LOCKED UP THE STORE, TO SEE WHAT THEY WERE TO DO WITH THE LABTOPS. I GUESS HE HAD TOLD THEM TO TAKE THEM HOME SO THEY WEREN'T LEFT IN THE VAN OVERNIGHT. GIOVANNI ALSO ASKED THEM TO CHECK THEM OUT TO MAKE SURE THEY STILL WORKED. WELL ONE OF THE DRIVERS LIKED THE LABTOP, THAT HE HAD SPOKE WITH GIOVANNI AND ASKED ABOUT PURCHASING IT. THE DRIVER WAS TOLD TO KEEP THE LABTOPS AND BRING THEM BACK ON WEDNESDAY (CONVERSATION HAPPENED SATURDAY EVENING) BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT EVEN SCHEDULED FOR REPO TILL THEN. AND OF COURSE, THERE WAS NO PAPERWORK!!!! SO NOW, THESE DRIVERS ARE GETTING ACCUSSED OF STEALING! LISTEN...I DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND OF BUISNESS YOU ARE TRYING TO RUN HERE, BUT IM EXTREMELY APPALLED AT ALL OF THIS! I KNOW THAT THESE DRIVERS WOULD NOT TRY STEALING ANYTHING FROM YOUR COMPANY! SOMETHING SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THE MANAGEMENT AT THIS STORE!! IF I FIND OUT THAT THESE DRIVERS GOT FIRED DUE TO BEING WRONGFULLY ACCUSSED OF SOMETHING OR ANY LEGAL ACTION IS HELD AGAINST THEM, YOU BETTER BELIEVE THAT I WILL BE CONTACTING THE MEDIA WITH THIS! Being late on payments does NOT make it ok for RAC to harrass friends and family. It is NOT ok to follow someone to work or out and about...it is NOT ok to go to one's house and scare them. You are RAC not the mafia. Unless you really want the tables turned and I can start following YOU around and see how you like it? They call me from employee phones BEFORE the store is open on the day the payment is due. If I pay it THE DAY IT IS DUE...THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT LATE. I called them the number they called me from last week at 830 this morning (store opens at 9) and he flipped out because it is his personal cell and the store wasn't open. BUT IT'S OK FOR YOU TO CALL ME LIKE THAT?? Next step is going to his house and banging on his doors. :)

I am very overwhelmed with their poor service & wish I could do a minus 5 stars. I have never had such horrible service in my entire life. The Store Managers are so nice when trying to get you to purchase their crappy stuff, but do not deliver great products. I have had problems since the day it was getting delivered. They were 3 hours late, I had to contact them 5 times to get them out there. And once they did come out they had no dryer plug and said oops they forgot it. Then didnt even hook the dryer up, my husband did and it didnt work. This was suppose to be a brand new unit. So the next day they brought a used dryer and said it was a loaner but will have a new one delivered on monday, so today is tuesday & I just called and was told they will send out my dryer to be serviced tomorrow and wont have till next week. I told them no, i wasnt using a used dryer due to risk of fire with them. He stated no new ones in any of the stores ( like that was the truth) and that the loaner will get the job done and that is their promise & all he could do. I told him to come & ge the unit and would never ever go there, and will tell everyone I can to Not go to this store. Which is the one on Breckinridge Lane... They are real winners at that store, in the short bus way.... I will see how long my refund takes to get creditied to my card... BUYERS BE AWARE

i recently became a customer with rent a center.. and have twice been stalked by the company! the first time i had a roommate that had a bunch of furniture he lost his job and i evicted him and made a deal with rent a center to take over the payments they then proceeded to stalk me within the first day of a missed payment due to financial situation.. i didnt like this harrassment so i asked them to come pick the stuff up.. thinking that would be the end of it the continued to call and try to talk me into doing buisness with them again.. i needed furniture and was in a better place financially so i decided to take on a tv and living room set.. i had asked them upon signing paper work to not call me at work because it is for emergencies only. due to bad weather and illness i fell into another tight situation.. they had proceeded to call friends and different members of my family including my brother who lives out of state.. they had been calling me 4 times a day every single day while i was at work irritating my supervisor.. this is over my bill only being 2 weeks late.. i felt anxiety because of this and no longer desired to do buisness with them and felt so much anxiety i avoided their store completely. is this what they call proffessionalism??? STALKING THEIR CUSTOMERS???

The start rating doesn't even give you horrible!! I recently rented from their company. And I am currently in and out of the hospital suffering from cancer. I was in remission last year, came home after a trip with family for X-mas and found out it was back. My wife and sons were not aware that I was behind 2 payments, I did not want them to worry! Well last night my son was sleeping and didn't hear the door bell, and woke to the front door being busted in with the supposedly sheriff's dept. and 2 men from rent a center! They took the T.V. the lady sheriff was rude would not give my son her name or badge number. And the paperwork that they had to take me to court over 1 payment, 1 Payment!!!! Said I had not been in contact with them, that is not true, I have phone records showing I was talking to corporate office over the rudeness of the workers at that store! It just goes to show, how inconsiderate and uncaring business can be, when mother nature steps in to take your life, and you cannot do anything to stop it! I am so done with companies like RENT A CENTER, I will never rent, buy or even shop online, or in store with any of their stores ever again, if I beat this cancer! But my family and word of mouth goes along way. PLEASE BE AWARE TO CHECK OUT BLOGS, AND BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU BEFORE BUYING OR RENTING FROM THIS COMPANY! A VERY DISGRUNTLED CUSTOMER!!!

I rate this store poor due to way of bussiness. Store#2291 2311 s.w. Military Dr. San Antonio,Texas 78224 Phone 210-927-0277. Store Manager Leroy Borrayo and Assistant Don,. This is an occuring problem with them. Renting great easy fun. Money changes hands. Delivery as soon as can. Been using Rentacenter for over 20years . Started on W.W WHhite with Don. Bought a refridgerator. bought washer dryer. bought a t.v. bought a bedroom set. years ago got a washer dryer and had trouble at home had to have picked up. then rented another one and lost job. Now a big Screen t.v and center started out a weekly and changed to 2 weeks pay ck not on a given date. every 2 weeks but as falls. went to monthly fee 213.00 still one ck. is not the 8th due date . Told them said made notes only now calls starting a week early daily. your payment will be due need a date and time call . The day of due still sleeping I work late 16hr days. They know its noted. Told him Id come in on way to work, Then what time is that said before work he said time and ill be waiting. Went in to pay at 2.30 and he wants to know why i missed yesturday. told him at work yall know you called all phones and people. why do I need a work excuse, HE said you have to be on time next time our we will pick it up. I told him NO I pd 213.00 for 6 mo. and Im not a child. He preceded to act holly than thou told him I will after 20+ years never use again and he said well. Asked for a card and he gave me a paper card I actually have a real managers card. So many complaints I agree there are good and bad , but cannot ruin the good bussiness not right. There are other rent to own places glad for the opputunity to serve with a smile and curtousy. This store was one of them. Please take note of this it is an on going process with no end. On Friday 2-4-11 I had them come pick up a tv that I no longer wanted. I was not home when they came by but my oldest daughter, who is 18, was home. When i returned home 45 minutes later I found that not only had they taken the tv but also stole my son's brand new Ipod touch right off the coffee table in the livingroom. It didn't dawn on me right away that this was even gone until that evening when my son went to look for it and it was missing. I never even gave it a thought that it could have been this person in my home earlier that day either because you don't think about that. I repeatedly asked my son if he was sure that he hadn't moved it. He swore he hadn't touched and come to think of it I don't remember seeing it in my son's possession. I later questioned my daughter as to whether or not she had left this person alone at any point where he would have had the opprotunity to take it and she informed me that she had in fact left the room for almost the entire time he was here and never saw him again until she opened the door for him tom assist him out. I'm completely livid and heartbroken over this!! This was a gift and was engraved for xmas and belonged to a 12 yr old boy and this man stole it right out of my home. I have tried to contact the person and they refuse to even deny doin it. I made a police report and went right to the local RAC store. I'm really praying that someone can help me but things are looking bleak.
