PALATINE'S RENT-A- CENTER IS A BIG TIME RIP OFF.THERE STUFF SUCK LIKE THERE COMPUTER'S.THE WORKERS ARE VERY RUDE.THEY ALL NEED TO GO .THEY GIVE AWAY FREE STUFF TO SOME PEOPLE AND NOT OTHERS.KATHY IS THE BIGGEST ONE TO DO NOTTING SHE DOES NOT HELP U WHEN U COME IN THE STORE SHE WALKS AWAY SHAKEING HER HEAD. DO SOME THING ABOUT YOUR STORE WORKERS

I wouldn't recommend Rac to anybody they harrass your family.They dont want to work with you no matter how long you been renting from you.I've called because my money would be a day late or I lost my visa card.They act as if I was lieing.I even brought the envelop my new card that came in through ups.No one apolygized.Customers are not treated as customers.I told them to pick up the couch and washer so they would stop calling my family.The refrigator I've been paying for 3 months is almost paid off.I got a deposit on my card today but wont get it till tommorrow because the delay of christmas I have to worry about them coming to get it or harrasing me till tommorrw.They said I can complain to corp.but it proably wont change out of there own mouth!!!!!

I rented a kitchen set which was supposed to be brand new. Well when the manager himself brought it he scratched the thing causing the paint to chip off. I then returned that one to get another one. The second set was cheaper than the first but still I am paying the same as the first one. I also rented a X-Box game system which I was charged for 4 days that I didnt have it. I was told I had to pay upfront so that the store could ship it to the store i rented from. I wasnt given credit for the days I didnt have the system, I am very upset because I was setting up the game and the the cords were missing for the plug in!!! I also noticed there were roaches coming out of the system. I called them and complained, I told them I rented a game system not roaches, but they didnt care. Didnt offer anything for the hassle, but now theyre calling me wanting their payment!!!! Im going to that store again right now to give them a piece of my mind!! Do not rent from RENT A CENTER!!!!! They need to change their name to like RENT SOME ROACHES!!! :{

this is in response to really? well im so happy for you that you have had a great life where things dont happen such as deaths, loss of a job,decrease in your income, recession, ect. we all know that it is a rental place but the workers treat you horribly bad if yoyur a day late like i rented it from themm personally and now they cant feed thier families. i paid over the internet like i have for the past 4 months and it didnt go thru on thier end not mine. i got a confirmation number but they said they never recieved the payment but the card statement says it went thru,so so i deseve numerous calls, nasty people telling me i owe them money? in the real world things unfortunitly happen and if we all had money and outstanding credit would we be renting things at rent a center?

Too bad they don't have a "no star" option. We have been paying on a dinette set for 2 years and we have only 5 payment left at $15.00 a week. Because of harrasing tactics and abusive behavior by the store we purchased/rented the dinette from we asked to have our account transferred to the other store in the area. Today we get a call from the new store manager (buddies with the other area store manager)demanding an exact time that we will be in to pay our $15. My husband told Mike the manager that we would be in to pay it today as this is the day our payment is due. My husband asked him at what time does the store close. The manager proceeded to tell him that it doesn't matter what time the store closes he needed an EXACT time that we would be in to pay. Mind you we are not late and the payment is not due until the end of the day. So again my husband stated that we would be in before the store closes. The manager proceeded to rant that this was a BS answer and that my husband was trying to be argumentitive for not giving him an exact time. My husband again calmly stated that as we would be out shopping and would be meeting up with other people that we could not give him an exact time. Mike would not accept this reply and got very rude. As my husband just got out of the hospital late last evening I got on the phone and said my husband does not need this added stress today we told you we would be in today before closing. I also stated that we are not late and we have every right to go in at ANYTIME today to make the payment. Mike then rants that he demands all his customers give an exact time an it is store policy to call (and harras) people the day the payment is due to get a stop in time. The manager proceeded to threaten me with taking our dinette if we wanted to be argumentative. I told him in reply that no, they could not take it as we are not late in paying or behind on any payments. Mike then tells me that they can take back the dinette we have already payed almost completly off for any reason wether we are late or not and that we should read our contract. PLEASE beware people... you can make all your payments, you do NOT have to be late and they can still come and take your things. It's in their contract. DO NOT trust this company they are rip off artist. Whats worse is I just found out from a store employee that they had someone in the store looking for a dinette just like the one we have... seems to me they are trying to steal my payed for dinette right as our obligation is fullfilled to give to another unsuspecting customer while we lose out on all our payments. They will NOT get my dinette... I'll use it for firewood before I let them take it.

I have had nothing but trouble at the Edgewood MD, location for 1, 3years ago I ordered a bed room set witch never came, 3 weeks ago I get a 40in TV and have nothing but problems with it, I went into the store today to pay my bill and try to have the TV fixed and the MANAGER tells me in front of other people they dont want to do business with me Because I hung up on here well im sorry anyone who talks down to me or insults me on raises there voice on the phone with me will be hung up on I do beleive I pay the phone bill..And as for saying they dont want to do business I have a contract and no place in said contract does it say I must not hang up a phone nor talk in a rude manner as long as I py the bill I should be good..Im going to contact the consumer general here in Maryland cause the law states all signed statement are a binding contract must be honored as writen on contract..so the 4800,00 sale may just be a freebe after the courts are done thank you AND TRY Aarons rentals......

I rented a bed room suit, living room suit, and flat screen tv from rent a center. And ive paid two thousand dollars on it but money is still owed...Im wondering if i can get in troube for not paying it.

I recently paid off a 50 inch tv after paying on it for 24 months. I got the extra warranty and 3 weeks after I paid it off the television went out. Now I am being told that because I didnt get the extended warranty 2 or 3 months before I paid off the television I must pay for the repairs. I will be contacting my attorney because even the csr I worked with did not know that I needed to pay for it so many months prior to my paying off the television.

WE JUST MOVED HERE FROM MEMPHIS TN. We picked up a couch and a fridge from RAC n hav ben callin,in makin our payments faithful. Mr. Juan was so nice when we came in. MY HUSBAND HAD 2 SWITCH JOBS. He explained the situation to the not so nice this around Juan. He accused us of trying to make him feel bad and bbringing up our kids like we asked for sum type of pity party. He knew the situation we never avoided the phone calls but if u happen to be unable to answer the phone 1 time your whole family knows your business before they can leave you a message. Said that he would let us bring in 1 weeks pay and the rest in the Tues of the following week. That was fine but he schedules the time to pay when my husband gets off which is 2 we only have 1 car so explain the time he gets off claim payment has 2 b in before 2 or someone wil be at the door. I ask will the driver except the payment he avoids the question and keeps repeating the 2 oclock rule. Just wana know y r u guys so rude. Where is the love? If a customer communicates with you why cant you work with'em. This store is in arlington tx. If u can help it by any means..........DO NOT GO TO RENT A CENTER! As the Waterboys mom would say," They are the DEBIL!"

RAC has made a BIG mistake .Hulk Hogan is NOT the kind of person I want my children are anyone else in my family to be exposed to.It is hurting your ratings.I for one will never rent anything from U,because he is on your payroll.U should be ashamed of yourself for using him ,especially in x-mas ads. They sent the sheriff to my work place. I have been with them over 10 years. They do not practice good business practices.

RAC, Marshall TX Promised me a fee turkey upon delivery of my dryer, big screen TV, and all-in-one computer. I paid $107 down and received no turkey, a dryer that doesn't dry, a big screen TV and a Ghetto-computer with no speakers. I've called several times, while maintaining my payments and they have promised on several ocassions to replace the computer with the one I'm suppose to be purchasing. Due to a cold and losing my voice, I had my sister-in-law call and speak the the manager, Michael and she point blank explained my problem and asked him what he as a manager was going to do about it since I'd been getting nothing but a run-around. He told my sister in-law he did not appreciate her being "firm" with him, When she asked him about some kind of credit for the non-existent computer he very rudely said "I just went over that with you!" She replied, "you can't speak to me that way" He replied, No-you don't speak to me that way, ever since you got on the phone with me you have been firm. I reported this to the Corporate Offices in Plano, TX and Terry Semon is suppose to contact me within 24-hrs about the Manager and his inappropriate people skills. After reading all of these comments, I don't feel like much will be done by Corporate, but we'll see.

I purchased a flat screen TV from RAC. During the payment process, the TV is making a humming noise. Call the Bridgeport store to get it fixed. They came and took the TV back to the store and said they had to send it out for repair. In the meantime, I was trying to pay the TV off before my 90 days were up. It took 3 weeks for the TV to be fixed. They did give me a loaner TV during this time. When the TV came back to RAC the stand was broken.So now we have to wait to get that fixed. During that time I have now paid the TV off. They told me I had 30 after I got the TV back for any problems. Also was told to keep a warranty on it for a year @ $3.18 per month. So now the TV is returned to me a month an a half later. The cracked stand is fixed and the TV is still hummimg what I originally sent the TV in for. I am spinning my wheels with this TV and don't know what else to do HELP!!!

I was at Black Friday sale and because a problem with the address, I wasted half the day waitting on the 50 in Tv. So after that I called and they said that the adress was wrong and it would be a couplle day to conferm the adress. Ask to be refunded and the computer was down. After waitting few mins, they said it could be 20 min if the computer come up. At this time I be back in a day or so. As leaving the one of the employees said in a smartass way have a nice. That is not a way to run a business. With Arron's up the rosd.I will never rent at RAC again not at Gladstone store.

Not only is RAC a terrible place for customers, it is also a terrible place to work! Unless you have no alternatives, do not work for RAC!!

Rent A Center- has great products and I like their financing.

I have been using Rent A Center for about 5 years now. When I had received in the mail a post card for your October 29 & 30, 2010 post card that said if went rented on one of those two dates, we would get four weeks free, we were excited since we needed a new sofa and love seat. I got a phone call the other day (2 weeks later) wanting to remind me that my payment was due! When I questioned them about the four free weeks, I was told that it did not inclued new products, just used ones. I read that post card front and back and never saw were it made any statement or reference to the fact that the item needed to be used. The rental agent/manager asked to see our card at the time of our setting up the agreement, because she said she had only heard about it, but did not see these ads! I have argued with the entire store now about my not paying them until the 6th week since I paid for 2 weeks and should get the four free weeks! At this rate it your company insist on charging me for that four weeks there is another rental place right next door to my employer, I will take my business to them from now on! I hate liers and cheats! And that is exactly what it feels like is going on here!
