I rented 3 items from rac in goodyear az the day my payments are due I get phone calls as early as 8 am asking if I want to make a payment they harrass you even if ur not late once I pay it off I will never be bothered with this company again I'm done

I have been a RAC Costumer for 14 years, and I have never had a problem with any stores until I moved to DC. I complaint about this store In Washington DC, Alabama AV. 3 times allready. The Costumer service there is very poor, I recently was 4 days late on my payment, called in at the day when my payment was due, and could not come in when I said I would, but I called and told them I was in on a certain day and time. This was not good enough for them, I got harrased. They came to my house on the day I called and told them I was in that Saturday. Then they came back the next day while at work and jumped on my porch. I called Costumer Service and they told me the District Manager is going to call me, but never did. I called the Store and talked to the new Store Manager, I told him that if his guysjump on my porch again I get them arrested, he told me I can't do this, they have some kinda contract, I never heard anything like this before. He then told me that he could call the police and tell them I have stolen goods in my house. How can that be stolen goods when I have the contract. I am not a very happy costumer right now. This is the first store I would not recommend to anybody.

The quality has gone completely out when it comes to the furniture. And the title customer service does not apply. Troy & Hulk should remove themselves from being associated with this company. I rented washer/dryer set. Came down to wanting to pay off. Same situation as one above customer. They would not give me pay off information without me making a payment. Yet it seems the payoff was never-ending. From last I was told, it was $120. When I wanted to pay that, they wanted me to make a regular payment & then pay off was higher? I had rented a sofa/loveseat set. 1 day of ownership...just 1 day...the cushions that were tufted popped!!! We have no children...it just popped!! So I sent it back. Now mind you here's were lack of customer service comes in. When I ordered it, I set a time & was first appointment made for that date. Were they on time...no! I made 3 calls trying to find out what was going on. They made the cable guy look more reliable! So, I decided to try a different set of sofa/loveseat combo. Once again 1st appointment entered for that day...sat & waited...3 phone calls to them because God forbid they should call you back on their own...stated it was going to be another hour!! So I cancelled order completely. I then get a refund check on what was paid to furniture that was defective, because you have to still pay. Then told I can't use the credit for difference on washer/dryer units...after I complained about lack of service & quality. And did not want to risk money on furniture that is badly manufactured. Now they hound my husbands job & threaten to go to his place of employment to harrass him more!!! All because the store manager is lazy & lacks customer service skills. This is the most horrible rental company & experience I've ever had.

I have bought SEVERAL items from RAC and recently got a TV. It was a 42" Plasma and when I signed the contract the manager talked me into buying extra insurance that I thought was to cover ANYTHING that happens to the TV. (so thats what she said) Anyways the TV broke and now they said I have to pay for a TV that is broke. This Company is THE very WORSE EVER!!!! 100% customer satisfaction guarentee is a JOKE!!! It's Criminal! its Fraud!! whatever word you want to use? CROOKS is a good one also. they are ONLY out to make that bottom line and don't care about the customers at all. Atleast in Berlin N.H. They pray on us POOR people and INTREST us to death. A Company like this in the UNITED STATES is unreal! How can the law let this company use these practices?? It's downright CRIMINAL and people need to STOP buying from them cause they RIP us off because THEY CAN!!!!

THE RAC IN BAKERSFIELD,CA ON WHITE LANE SUCKS!!!!THE NEW MANAGER JOHN SUCKS EVEN MORE!! ALL THEY DO IS GIVE ONE THE RUN AROUND. MY frigerator's ice maker has not worked since Dec.still waiting for them to do something. they never call I have to be calling them. Last time I spoke to the Ass-hole manager, I asked him how long were they going to give me the run around. He got rude and told me he was doing me a favor by trying to find the part! can't believe that he said that. I told him.... Me ur doing me a favor? I have a 2yr ins on the dam thing and We paid it off in 9-2010 it is now 5-211. Never going back. and by the way they do take the time to call and tell us about their sales. Hahaaa what a joke the one star is too much of a rating for them. I am about to call our local News to complain about them, they will go out there and find out what the deal is about the run around.bet they find the part we need real fast then when they are put on the spot on TV so the whole town will see.Can't wait to see how they like that.

First off let me say I bought my Aspire Z5600 computer though a different company called Rent-One. The local Rent-A-Center tried repeatly to get me to come to thier store and get a computer instead. About three months into my purchase I get a call from (u guessed it) Rent-A-Center saying they purchased all the Rent-One accounts and I am now a Rent-A-Center customer. [First WTF Moment] I am not a fan of Rent-A-Center.So I have put up with them and they DID NOT honor the Rent One Bonus Bucks Deal either. It's been a year or so and I have a lot of lightning strikes in my area. So I had a storm fry my Network Card though the Ethernet line. They send it off for me to get fixed. Then the local manager losses my password because he sat a coke on the paper it was on. Extra week on repairs. Then it finally comes back on this past Monday. I get NO PHONE CALL. Tuesday, I GET NO PHONE CALL. Finally Tuesday evening I HAD TO CALL THEM. The manager says it was in Monday {WTF Number 2]. I said I will call them tomorrow. Then I call Today and this other guy that starts with a D says it was not Flagged as being in? But the manger said it was in last night? D said he would check. I wait an hour and call back. He said he forgot and he was eating? [WTF Number 3] I finally call back another two hours later and he said yes indeed it is there, but he has NO Delivery people working today? [WTF Number 4] So I break down and drive to go get it over 20 miles one way for me. I get my Acer Aspire Z5600 and go home. At home, I find the screen crack and no power cord. [WTF Number 5]. Call again. Another guy "A" says D and the manager are gone. OMFG! Then I drive another 20 miles back (third time=60 miles) He says I am S.O.L and then agrees to give me a power cord. I get all the way back home and discover that this isn't my power cord and even though it will fit the ground on the plug is broke off. [WTF Number 6]. SO for my 40 Dollars a week I get to drive 80 miles on my own dime, a broken touchscreen, being told S.O.L. and a power cord with no ground. [WTF Number 7]. I am totally pissed and very upset and dis-satisfied. email me @traviscavage@yahoo.com and the Rent-A-Center I am talking about is in a town that starts with "S" in West Tennessee. I Had to wait a month to get my PC fix and now it's messed up again. [WTF Number 8,9,10!!!]

I've yet to see a good or even average review for RAC. I hope they wake up soon, and realize that their current business practice will bring them down.

Let's see, where to begin.... I am from Northern Vermont, Ihave been a paying customer for over a year, at $101.17 per week for 52 weeks, that's a total of $5260.84.. I suddenly lost my job and you could not give me an extension... I thought I paid for insurance, or is that another scam you put fourth to make your millions off trusting, loyal, paying customers? My total purchase price was about $6000, and I still owe over $2000, even though I paid over $5000 in the last year.. Sounds fishy to me.. Now your threatening legal actions?? Well, go ahead. Look like a fool by bringing me to court! HA! I hope the judge laughs in your face! And I hope they vote in congress to shut scammers like you down, then you can have the feel of being jobless and trying to make your monthly billpayments. Karma will get you, all of you. And by the way, good luck taking my things back, you will not get through my front door! And I will put up a fight!

Delaware Ohio makes unauthorized transactions. I authorized for a less amount and Cody charge more. Watch out they will over charge your account. Do not trust them. They lie over the phone and I am not even an account holder. I only authorized for a certain amount. If corporate sees these complaints also drug test your employees. If you tape record phone calls you will see that they are illegal doing things from this store.

Buying a "new" washer, which was actually a defective piece of used junk. Called a few.times to get situation dealt with, and when two guys came out to check the defective washer, they flooded my kitchen and part of the dining room floor, which now the wood underneath has buckled. I have a "loaner" washer, which is as defective as the first one. Same problems as the first washer! So, I'm told because they messed my floors up, I will get a new washer; I thought That's what I was buying in the first place. Problem is, I have to wait for a third washer to come from Texas, and it will take 8-9 days, long enough for a payment and to be paid up before I get my washer. won't happen again......I already gave the 55" flatscreen back, this piece of junk is next.

Well I recently moved to Fort Worth,TX from Dallas were I had a really good record with my previous Rent a Center store on Ross Ave. I have purchase a living room set and washer and dryer. From them paid them off with in the 90 day same as cash policy. I might have went over on the sofas a few weeks but since I wanted to pay them off they honored the 90 day and gave me $100 off my next purchase. See how great they were to me. However I moved to Fort worth and went to my local rent a center to purchase a lap top for my son. I pay monthly and the total of the lap top with my coupon and same as 90 day was $480.00(used). I opened my own floral business and didnt fall behind paid 2 weekly payment. I went in yesturday to pay and see the pay off was since I went over 2week on my 90days same as cash and wanted to pay the lap top off WHAT!!! i was told total pay off was WAIT!!! $800.00 Ha ha. I talked to the manager that was eating lunch infront of me and said that was what i had to pay to pay it off. Well I said no way was i going to pay 2 times as much. I would return the laptop and take my business to the competion that I have also bought and paid for in full befor aswell to purchase another lap top. Aarons here I come. I just dont understand why the previous Manager I dealt with was good to me and will to work with me to pay off my purchases. And this guy here on Store# 2209 was not willing to work with me. Oh well rather loose 316.00 then to pay 800.00.more and with that said it was nice knowing you Rent a Center. Gladys Rodriguez

I am ASHAMED AND HUMILIATED. Can't go to work.....can't go out with my friends. Nobody will even ride in my car!!! my library books are infested. Poor Phoenix Library. We are not priority only people that these greedy people can manipulate. After all, we need credit and mostly likely most of us are Blue Collar workers and can't afford litigation. (I WAS a school teacher....do I really won't to teach again and give my children that are entrusted to me BEDBUGS????) I think not. I'm a Veteran and I go to the VA and eggs are hatching out of my clothes and are crawling all over me. (HOW EMBARRASSING...I USED TO WORK AT THE WHITE HOUSE AND THESE PEOPLE (my fellow veterans ) ARE MY COMBAT BUDDIES AT ARMS!!!! Pity RAC when the VA doe's and investigation. They are aware and have appointed me a VA attorney. My entire house is infested over a simple rental of a bed. The most insulting thing of all? They sent me a coupon good for 130.00 dollars over a purchase over a bed.....from Renta A Center!!!! Can you believe it???? Bring a bed into my bedbug infested house? I've been sleeping on the floor for a year. The secret is...spay the entire room with rubbing alcohol and they die instantly... Doesn't get the eggs hence the bugs hatching off my clothing. (The VA has me on steroids for my rash due to bedbugs) Long story short....they ADMITTED that they cause me bedbugs AND gave me a refund for the bed and delivered FOGGERS not once but twice. They sent in Truly Nolen...he said it's the WORST INFESTION THAT they ever saw. They are coming out of my light sockets, crawling down my walls I dig holes in my skin, they come out of my hair in the shower not to mention my poor animals. (if bedbugs can't get humans they go for animals including my bird) We are going national with this....Health Dept., You Tube (I have a really nice video of the devastation) as well as Truly Nolen claiming it's the worst they have ever seen!!!! First let me start off by saying I'm a current employee with RAC and I must say some of these comments are ridiculous. First we don't hassle people. Our contract specifically states that we don't have a grace period and do not tolerate late payments, so if you put your signature on this legal document, legally by law your saying you follow and abide these conditions. So why are you people complaining. We make courtesy calls the day your bill is due to remind you that your bill is due. And we don't harass people. If your not communicating with us and ignoring our calls of course were gonna call you and come by your house to get out stuff it's all on the contract you sign. I mean if you loaned someone $300 and they didn't give u the money back when they said they would you would do everything to get your money back. I mean you don't pay your rent or phone bill late so why RAC. And nine times out of ten if you tell us when you will be in we never call u. So to all you dead beats complaining on here, I'm sure your a lousy customer with porridge ethics. If u don't like RAC try aarons or something.

ohio i have also been a customer of rent a center for yrs and never had a problem until a month ago and discovered that the bedroom suite i purchased from my local rent a center gave me bed bugs, i called them and they never sent anyone out and had someone in dallas texas call me a claims adjuster. they waited three days before having someone from a pest control company they hired in columbus which is three hours away from my home come inspect, the inspector told me the bed bugs came from the headboard i bought from rent a center. they are treating me like i am lying and i still havent heard anything from them, i am scarred up from all the bites and must continue to sleep with these bugs so they wont go seek out my children and bite them. someone was supposed to come and get the headboard two days ago and never showed up. i dont know what to do. i dont have the money to have the bugs removed right now. i have to buy my things cash and carry from the rental places as i do not have a lot of money but want a nice home. i spoke to a jessa in claims who was very mean and impersonal, then her supervisor david wasnt helpful at all, they keep telling me its a process yet i am being bitten every night and getting scars on my hands face legs neck eveywhere. i am still waiting on someone to call me back i have left several messages. i have seen many bed bug complaints against rac and think we should all start a class action suit against the company. this is ridiculous. i even had terminex come in myself to inspect and they also determined the bed bugs came from the headboard.

I returned to R.A.C to resume payments on my flat screen TV and was kept there around a hour and a half filling out paperwork and waiting for responses on my references,was promised delivery that evening. I recieved a call from the manager,Ozzie, 5 hours later telling me that he still needed varafication of my lease,I volunteered to bring a copy to the store,he declined and said that the delivery person could pick up the copy of the lease.I got a call from him 2 hours saying he now could'nt deliver because he had to get approval to deliver and could'nt until that following monday. 7 and a half hours of shooting bull and blowing me off to get a sale.I've been a loyal customer to these people and even paid off stuff early with no missed payments. I rented a 55 inch tv from rent a center on utica ave in brooklyn new york. After making a few weeklly payments of 50 dollars i called the store and told them that i wouldnt be able to make my payment on saturdat the day it was due but on monday. They said i would have to pay cor two weeks which was not a problem. On the friday sosmeone from the store called my job saying they were the police looking for me. I know the because we have caller id. I called the store and everyone denied it until i said i can prove it with the phone record. Then soon as i get off the phone my co worker calls my cell phone to say a dark skinned tall heavy set guy came to my office looking for me. Wow. Then he leaves the missed you while you were gone paper with my supervisor.all of this when i had already arranged with marcus the supervisor to make a double payment on monday. On monday afternoon my daughters call me T my job to say they were t the xoor. I told tbem i was makinv my pYment on my lunch break.they told them i can go to jIl cause the tv is stolen.my daughters became upset due to their rudeness the reps told my daughters to go get their boyfriends. At this point my neighbor called cause she was worried. The rent a center guys went to my neighbors house and told them i had stole the tv. Oh i forgot i rented a 55 in but was given a loaner 46 in since they dropped.it on the way to my home. That was a month before my problems with the payment started.

This company acts like a collection agency. I mean seriously..everyone has caller ID and we know when you called us. We are not OBLIGATED by LAW to answer our phone. The most you are legally allowed to do is leave a message, not call my work. I think companies need to teach their employees not to call someone's work. Everyone knows it's illegal if I say not to call my work.
