Friday, August 19, 2011 Rent A Center Corporate Office | Headquarters 5700 Tennyson Parkway Plano, TX 75024 (972)398-5800 To whom it may concern; I have a small complaint, I usually do not complain but this matter has me a bit set back as to what is considered professionalism in a business. I know that Rent A Center thieves for the up most professional staff they can get. They are very particular of who they select and how each staff conducts themselves within the company. Knowing this I was a bit upset with your butte Rent a Center location and lack of professionalism from them. I called on Monday August 15th, 2011 to inquire about when I will be having my third interview with Mike the store Manger, as he had called me on Aug. 9th at 12:31 PM informing me my interview went well with both Tiffany at corporate and Bill the assistant Manger at the store and he would call me in a few days to set up an interview with him. He asked me if child care would be an issue since I had a last minute change on our original date set for the interview which was only a few hours after speaking with Mike about my application. My husband was mandated to work an over time. I explained in no way this would be an issue, that I have two sitters lined up and school will be starting shortly so I am ready and more than willing to work for such a reputable company. I waited until today to call Mike back to inquire when he was going to set up a final interview knowing my skills in management, retail, and customer services was exceptional to include my drive to succeed with Rent a Center company. Mike said he had no idea when he would be holding another set of interviews and took my home phone number once again, I explained my Cell phone was broken and I would prefer him to try my house phone. I was informed today Friday August 19, 2011 by Bill that they hired someone already but they would keep me in mind. I have NEVER known such unprofessionalism when dealing with hiring practices as I have come across with Mike. If this is what is considered professional from a manager than your company needs to revamp your Montana Rent a Center and its manager! A manager is the impression of the company! The employees represent the store I was not impressed by the lack of professionalism from Mike. I will be investigating more into this matter and the person hired to make sure that the qualification exceeds mine. I have more knowledge on how to run a company, maintain sales, bring in new customers, and retain customers from my many years in management and working with the public. I can personally tell you why Butte Rent a center does so poor in sales compared to Aarons that is a few blocks down the Street. It’s the people you have working there, the lack of motivation, and disoriginaztion of even your Manager! I am sorry to complain but I think this matter needs to be addressed properly. This has put a bad taste in my mouth and will discourage me from ever applying again to Rent a Center. If you look at my work history I have a stable work history, worked two years for Snap Fitness and took that company to new levels. I could have done the same for Rent a Center, I would have been a very valuable asset to Rent a Center. Thank you Golda Beaupre

iam so upset they did not deliver my dryer from rent a center for the 2nd time i was waiting all day sat for a delivery noone showed. so what am i to belive from this crazy wacked out company the clarksville ind. store sucks. noone every go there they lie they are rude and crude and need help
I had the worst experience with RAC. The manager talked to me like I was a 5yr old. They charged me an extra week and thought I wasnt going to notice. When I asked why it was so much this week he just told me thats what I owed. I told them to come get the item and he told me I had to bring it back myself. Another man told me that I wasnt charged an extra week but when I showed him the reciept he didnt know what to say about it. I will NEVER go back there again. And Im telling every1 not to go there. They dont know what cumstomer service is or how to handle their customers with respect!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THEY LIE ABOUT PAYMENTS...THEY TREAT U LIKE A LIL KID!!!! THEY DONT KNW ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE...THEY TRIED TO ADD AN EXTRA PAYMENT TO MY ACCOUNT WHEN I WAS ONLY 2DAYS LATE AND I WENT AND TOLD THEM I WAS GONNA BE 2DAYS LATE. THE MANAGER LOOKED AT ME LIKE I WAS CRAZY AND DEMANDED THAT HE GOT PAID TODAY OR WAS COMING TO GET THEIR STUFF. SO I TOLD HIM TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK AND COME GET THEY SHIT!! HE REFUSED TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK.
I live in atmore, alabama... warning to anyone who is thinking of going to RAC Around here. They Will Call You From 5 to 10 Times A Day on The Day Of Your Payment. Which Is Illegal and Harrassment And A Lawsuit from $2500.00 to $7500.00 for each call and is more illegal to call you from their personal cell phone like they have been doing me. Slanderous and dirty messages have been left time after time on my phone. Going To Talk To Corporate 1st about This and Then Maybe I Will File Charges After That..If You Have Had This Problem Just Letting You Know It Is Illegal. stand Up For Your Rights
2 yrs ago we rented to own and then paid off a washer at (rent a center 1420 B blackiston mill rd in clarksville ind,.47129. we had good results with it, so then when our own dryer went out in late july 2011 we rented to own a dryer from the same Rent a center store. We live in a apartment down the street 4 blocks from rent a center, so we rented a dryer 2 weeks ago , yesterday fri 8/12/2011 it stopped working about 10:00 a:m so I went to the Rent A center and expl and the girl in the front office said. oh you have all those boxes in your utilty room and they would need removed. and i said they are heavy i cant move the boxes we use for storage and my husband is at work. she said i will come out with delivery,m iam a superv and i will take care of it. she never showed up so about 6:00pm i drove back to the store she said I have been so so buzy today i forgot. so then the girl said well we will shedule a delivery for sat aug 13 2o11 aT 2:00 PM. WELL ITS 3 hrs past iam soooooo mad., my husband said we will give the dryer back and loose our money we have paid into it and go buy one used, because we are not going to play the game that Rent a center has. this is the 2nd lie she told we have waited all day for delivery , i did yesterday no one showed iam not gfoing back to that store every again they have lost our business....their number is 812)284-1540 for the store. and i am not calling them aain we are so oooooo disppointed in your store and company,, the african american girl who runs the store is a liar she was talking to a customer yest about her kids and her apt and her sound system un professinal.. this place needs help. and she cant give it. they were suppose to remove the existing dryer to repair it and bring a loaner. and apparently they dont want to show up bad business pracctices i advise everyone not to do buesinees with rent a center rip off stor eon blackstion mill rd clarksville indiana 47129
again iam making a formal complaint AGAINST THE STORE AT 1420B BLACKISTON MILL RD CLARKSVILLE IND, 47129 812-284-1540 I WANT A SUPERVISOR TO CALL ME AND NOT ! THE LITTLE AFRICAN AMERICAN GIRL WHO SAID SHE IS A SUPERVISOR. SHE HAS LIED TWICE IN TWO DAYS. we rented to own a washer and made payements to this rent a center store all went well we paid it off. We had a dryer of our own go bad. so we rented a dryer from this rent a center store in clarksville indiana. and i have had it two weeks and it stopped working yesterday fri aug 12,2011. i went in the store as soon as i found it was not working at 10:00a:m this african american girl said hi how are you, she remembered me when we rented it and she remembered my husband.when they delivered the dryer to our apartment ) we have a utlilty room we use part of it for storage it has some heavy boxes behind the door. the lady said can you remove those boxes so we can bring a loner dryer and take the other and have it repaired and return it and i said yes.. but my husband is at work i need help to remove them so icant remove the boxes with no help. so she said I will come out with a delivery guy about noon today the 12th of AUG. i waited all day she never showed up at my home so at 6:00 pm i went to the store about 4 blocks from my apartment and the same girl said oh iam so sorry i got so buzy. she told another customr iam taking of her u can step up to the register. she was not helping me. i stayed and waited 40 min. and i said are you going to reschedule a delivery she said oh yes i forgot again oh no. well how about 2:00 pm tommorow sat. aug 13, 2011 i said great i said it nice and kind and sweet and joked witht hem i said my husband will be home tommrow from work and can assist with removing the washer first so the dryer can be removed. she said ok. its now four hours past delivery time and no one has called or come to our apt. i have waited all day and no Rent A center i just drove by the store and there sits there truck,.. ok my husband works 7 days a week normally it is rare he is off today on a saturday he could have helped he cant this week he works 12 hr days. he wont be home when they can come out. so i feel i was lied to and they need to apologize for the lies and they need to send two men and i canniot remove the boxes so i dont want a complaint from them over the boxes in my utility room they will have to remove the washer first which my husband was going to do today and then they will need remove the dryer with no! complaints. or iam sueing this store for falsisfications,.
Ilive in ventura, ca and i have to tell you about an employee by the name of Adrianna. She is the most Rude, unhappy, and in considerate person that i have ever met. Times have been tough and money is a little tight so i have my wife call up and see if we can make a double payment on our rentals because we pay weekly and we did not have the money this week to pay, my wife tells her sthe situation because she also had to go out of town for a family emergency which left me home to watch my 10 y o daughter. My wife tells me that every thing is fine Adrianna said it was fine, then she sends an employee by the name of Victor who is cool, i don't have any problem with him, to collect money for this week. So I tell Victor what is going on and he calls the store and talks to Adrianna, Adrianna gets pissed because someone was home and she assumed no one was home, so now she changes her tune and demands the money be paid to day or to surrender our rentals. She thinks that because i was home that i should be able to pay. NO. my wife was also going to get help with some money so we can get squared up with our agreement. I know an Agreement is an Agreement, but sometimes stuff happens, and people like adrianna don't Give a damn I don't care for her attitude and if something doesn't get done I will Go to another place like Aaron's or something after i pay my rentals off. Very unsatisfied!

Me and my husband have been renting from RAC off and on for almost 2 years. When we lost a job we would tell them we couldnt make payments and take it back. Here withing the past 4 months we had been paying on a flat screen and the new xbox 360 with kinect. We were paying $40 a week which is $160 a month for just the xbox, with the tv we were paying $75 a week, $300 a week. after a month we asked how much we still owed and they said 53 payments on the tv and 33 on the xbox. When we tried to take the tv back they told us to take it back home because we had won a drawing for a free week. The next week we took the tv back and went to pay on the xbox and they told us we were a week behind. Then we got into an argument over that. we finally got that worked out and they sent us a voucher for $450. We went in to look at tvs and they told us with the voucher we didnt have to pay the week upfront. The next week when we went to make the 2nd to last payment on the xbox and asked what was left they told us $150 instead of $45! Come to find out they took money from what we had paid on the xbox and put it towards the tv! without telling us or checking with us. When we went and started reading the agreement at home we found out they wanted us to pay over $800 for a used tv. After the $450 voucher it was $360, for a used 32 in flat screen magnovox tv with scratches and scuff marks!!! Me and my husband started talking and I told him to take it back since a used tv is not worth that much unless its huge! The day we were to make the payment they called us 4 times! My husband said to not answer the phone and they can come get the tv themselves! For the past week they have called us no less than 4 times a day!Apparently they arent too worried about the tv since they havent came and got it. And not to mention the fact that they couldnt even find the correct remote for our tv.
company sold me a bed set from online and brought me something different .when i complained about the heigth they told me buy a piece of plywood and fix it myself . i am the customer and i wish for something to be done about this . companies are supposed to fix the problem that the cause . i will contact corporate
I was an employee for Rent A Center 407 Ive been with the company about 6 years.I was fired for not hitting a 5.9% on saturdays which was company standard. I have been looking for a job every since i been out of work. know this company must be bad mouthing me because every where I apply i dont get an answer and I have been out of work close to 2 years now.
I was rent a 36in hd tv almost evey 2 weeks I had late charges, an when I got 1 week behind they tried to take it. I had them fallow me around in my car. I had them refuse payment had to call main office to get them to take payment. the closer I got to paying it off the more I had to pay. for late payment 2 days late 100$ late payment?? I finaly wound up letting them take it. cause a family crises an couldn't make the 80$ payment bought it for 200$ cash two weeks later. that was almost a year ago. I wanted to get a laptop.swallowed my pride went down there today to rent it from them was told to wait for thier store manager. so I went home an called him was told NO. they won't rent to me?? what happend to thier we rent to anyone mato??
I rented a laptop only because I didn't know what kind I wanted. I took the 1200.00 Sony. Went back 2weks later n switched it for a acer. 90 days same as cash. Said I could switch for like purchases and money would transfer. Paid 500.00 in 2 weeks. 2 weeks later went to pay off the last 400.00 and they said i owed 600.00. They started me over on a new contract and pocketed my first payment...Wtf. when I tried to take to them they got real ghetto on me saying "I signed the contract and there is nothing I can do about it. I'm not wanting to give them the laptop back or another dime unless a judge who has heard my case tells me to. I'm so mad I'm ready to go to jail over this. I know it sounds dumb. But does anyone think a judge will side with me? They shouldn't have started a new contract. I would have had my laptop paid off in 30 days! They didn't stand behind their end of the contract so why should I?
Hello i was wanting to say this because the rent a center that is on West Rd in Houston TX i have been paying and paying when i went in to rent my TV and my living room set they told me tat each month i had to pay 270 each month and i did then after that i called and asked them how much do i owe because on my paper i had signed up for a special and it left me to pay like 2200 and then when they told me how much more i had to pay it was damn there 6000 and something and i called them i was like hold why is my bill in the 6000s when all i had to pay was the 2200 off for the furniture to be mines then the person said well if you didn`t have it paid off within the 90days we give you then it goes back up to the original price and i told him you didn`t explain that to me all you said was i signed up for a month to month plain and that i had to pay each month until the 2200 was paid off then he was like what do you want to do i said i am going to keep my stuff because i had already paid almost 1300 for my stuff and they wasn`t going to come and take my stuff from me and resale it to someone else because i walked in on a special and that special shouldn`t have stopped until i was done paying off the 2200 then they tryed to drop the payments on my account and that`s how i figure that`s how they get over on people is by charging them extra if they haven`t paid it off in 90 days and so i haven`t paid made a payment yet and they call call call all day long and they constantly comes by my house knocking real hard and being disrespectful to me and my family then on top of that i had to bury my auntie because of a hit and run and i told one of the mend that work there i was going through so family issues he act like he didn`t understand what i was talking about all he as saying i have to feed my family and i told him i had to bury my family because of people like that don`t care about other peoples family and its just to where i ha to tell him if he don`t leave my house i was going to call the police on him then he still refused to leave and i called the rent a center and told them the same thing then the man decided to leave and i told them they not fixing to do me like they did everybody else just take my money them try to get the furniture back and resale it to someone else and then get there money and keep doing it over and over that`s the only way they figure they can make there money by getting over on people. but that was my story and i will stick with that until they leave me alone .

Still waiting for guy named German to get back to me. I only owe about 2and 1/2 payments and they are intimidating me over it! Making me think they'll take something I paid 2,000 dollars for. I'm in the midst of contacting attorney's because I'm already being lied to about this German guy, who by the way never called me back and I still try every day to catch this guy and they saY "OH i'M SORRY HE JUST STEPPED 'OUT" Of course I'm not that stupid. I know the guy is avoiding me. I know how to go higher on the chain. And I'm working on that since you never returned my plea for help.And one last thing Mr.German, I will fight for my rights. Just because I'm disabled does not mean I'm dumb!
So I went out of town last month I lost my job whn I went out of town so I was stuck in a hard so I culdnt make my payment the 2 weeks while I was gone but whn I got back I paid them all da money I was behind so da manager in coatsville,pa carmen threatened me tht if I make anotha late payment tht dey was gonna take my stuff n I really feel tht thts wrong she don't have any customer service skills n she talks with such an attitude I dnt wanna return it cause I paid so much on it I HATE RAC n never will never deal with dem again
I have been dealing on and off with RAC for 20 years. They have been convenient especially when I purchase my home. I was able to be updated, with my electronics my kitchen units, if I had company I had rented bunk beds, I even did an open house for my daughter housewarming, and they were sold on the merchandise, a entire living and dining room set. I've had some dishonest mangers who was fired for taking my money and dening it. They were removed once I talked with the Regional manager. The store manager gave me plenty of respect when I got mad at my friend who did not want to help on the msot expensive large television when they came out in maybe 95. I would call him and he would roll that television up and down my stairs bringing it back and forth to me. I've had some customer service problems, that I had the young men in fear when I walk in the door. The young lady manager would say Ms butler I would help but don't get upset. There was just too much immaturity at that time. My last and first purchase was mattresses. I had a fire in 2008 and I moved back into my home before all repairs was thru. So I rented a bedroom suite, along with a television. When the mattress arrived I was very concern that the mattress was not new and in plastic covering. All of my matress that I have ever received from them had been in a plastic and brand new. I was reassured that they were brand new and I was paying fro new mattress, despite the small ragged tears. I eventually had to put that particular mattress on my bed. since my brand new matress I want to purchase became one of those arguments mentioned above. That date of purchase was in 2009. In 2010 I had major surgery, I rarely slept in my bed because I needed assistant. So I slept on my brand new sectional I purchase. I moved into my bedroom in March of this year, I was bedridden for 10 months. I don't know nothing about bedbugs. But I do know it comes from used furniture, from my research, I called 2 wks ago, mentioned to one of the sales person, telling her that I think I have the in the matress. I finally eyewitness it. First I thought I was bitten by a flea, since I have a dog. I would prefer fleas at this time, but I have something that is hidden and I cannot find. I am devasted. My concern with RAC, would they just lie to a customer? Like that? How could I be so trusting? and that means all of my new furniture will be infected? Right now I am waiting on daylight to come.
