I too am a disgruntled previous an employee , Not only did they work you grueling hours and have to make mincemeat out of customers degrading them when they already feel less then human bc of there poor credit scores.. The company sucks and it pisses me off they use the poor to get rich when alot of the customers are just trying rebuild a life.. I dont care what anyone says our country is turning communist!!

Been a customer of RAC for years over 7 never had a problem till recently then when I had a tv through them the speakers did not work and sent it for repair all I got was the run around when talking to the manager to get a loaner the loaners they brought out did not work. I ended up having to take it up to them and getting another on my own gas my own time then had to travel to another store to get the remote. The manager Annette at the flint mi store lied to me about the tv getting repaired. Then to top it off. When my husband went into make payment while we are still waiting on Chris the district manager to call back he lies and says that hes been trying to call us when i have the phone records to prove that he never tried. They only take a one week payment when I owe two and my husband told them we are here to make our payment they start calling my house 13 + times per day starting that night saying I never made a payment I told them I have my receipt. Then they send two thugs to my house Dave and some moron at 8.45pm demanding cash payment. Now one I dont appreciate the lies two I was with a working tv for over a week. Three Ive been a loyal customer for years. I will never use them again and I have also told everyone I know including my husbands Military friends to never ever use RAC

I just got a bad from RAC and MY first payment was late cause I told the guy that take care me that I wasnt able to make my first payment on the on 11/15/11 I call and told them that I was moving and could not make my payment untill till 11/29/11 and he put the manager on the phone. The manager told me that he cant only way till 11/25/11 for day before my pay day. When I got home from work RAC had been in my house telling myo room made to open my door so they can get the bad. my room made refuse so they left but came back the next day to said that they will bring the police, hahahah that is how I feel about RAC cause when they can make deliver on time you cant charge you fucking guys so if a hard working person miss a payment they want your shit back so they can make more money on it. I want to buy a new bad and that is what I did and if RAC think that I will return my bad and on 11/29/11 come to pay and they will tell me they sold it and try to give me a use bad, you may as well come and get your shit cause Iam going to BBB

Very Very poor customer service. We have been with RAC since Jan 2010. Almost 2 years and we have a 7 pc living room set, 51" TV, TV cabinet, bedroom set and washer and dryer. We will have all of our stuff paid off in less then 7 months. We missed a week of payment CALLED THEM TO TELL THEM and they said they would work with us on catching up. So when the next payment came due we made the $137 payment +$75 extra from the previous payment missed and informed them I would pay the remaining balance when the next payment was due. They call me the VERY NEXT DAY asking when we plan on catching up. I explain the situation and the guy says "Oh ok I did not know"... Then the NEXT DAY I get a call from someone else at the store!!! The same questions. I explain to him as well. My husband works down the street from there and he got stopped on his way to grab lunch by one of the guys that works there who asks him "when are you going to catch up?" my husband explains the entire situation and the guy tells my husband "god I hate you guys you need to manage your money better". The very next day I get a call from SOMEONE ELSE with the same questions. At this point my "nice" was gone!!! I completely chewed him out told him to talk to the manager (whom we spoke with when we missed the payment) and the other 2 guys and hung up on him. The manager promptly calls to find out why I was so upset. I explained it to him and he apologized over and over and said he would try to get the issue resolved. I told him we would be in 11/19/2011 to make our payment INCLUDING the past due. I was ill all weekend and just got around yesterday to feeling better. I had every intention of going there after work today but I get a call from someone at the store I do not know and have never heard of telling me they are heading to my house to repossess our furniture because we are "4 days behind and we are done doing business with you"... 4 days behind after almost 2 years AND us keeping you updated on EVERYTHING and now this????? Yea we are done with RAC this is completely ridiculous.

I am trying to find out why RAC so full of poob, one sales person tell you one thing , and you go in there the next day someone tells you something else. RAC is full of mess. They are not never on the same page, you end up paying different amount every week. Their a rip of. especially in the black neighborhood.

I work at rent a center in Asheboro NC. I hate my job. No time to spend with your family..Always at work. Be careful of previously rented items. They are cleaned very well by me, however if you saw the item or the home it came from you would not want it. I have picked up items covered in pet urine and feces. Been in insect infested homes, stepped over clothes,food and things i dont like to think about. i had a tampon applicator fall out of a couch once from a repo. The company does NOT provide anything to keep us safe or protected from what we come in contact with.. You will be lucky to find an employee that delivers to be in a good mood or happy under the stress of not seeing his/her family and dealing with rude customers (not all of them) but more than 75% are the worst customers imaginable. Not to mention being harrassed to get good credit numbers and work over 48 hours a week. We have no time to spend with our families and live constantly in fear of being terminated and loosing our means to feed and support our families by being phone shopped and RAC has """Unrealistic Expectations""" for the employees to meet. Even HAZMAT gets paid more than I do and the protective gear to enter some residences...

It saddens me and hurts my feelings to see all of these complaints. I am an assistant manager at a store in Nashville, TN and I love my job here at RAC. I don't know too much about the business as of yet, but one thing I do know is that I treat my customers with the utmost respect. I like to look at it like I don't work for RAC, I work for all of you. You guys make it possible for me to take care of my family, and for that, I'd go out of my way for every one of you. My customers are wonderful people in my eyes, even when they are past due. I want to appologize to you all for the way you've been treated, and I hope that someday in the future you give us another chance. If any of you happen to move to Nashville, please look me up. Again, my sincere appologies to you all. We, as a company do not condone this type of behavior by any means. i bought some clearane deal from rac in july of 2011. i did the 90 day same as cash plan.... my total cost was $487.00 including tax. I made it so i was paying $165.00 pr month to pay off my furniture on time within 90 days. well my last payment was due october 30....... i called saturday and said well my final payment is due tomorrow (sunday) can i drop a money order/check in drop slot on sunday. well the "acct manager" couldnt answer this her name is Angie from the Norwood, OH store..... called back hour later and talked to GM and he said that 90 days same as cash will expire on 10/30/11 and that was that no extensions. i said well ur location is closed can you provide me with an alternate way to pay on 10/30/11 he said no i must pay by 29th i said that is only 89 days not the 90 i was promised...... GM was a "prick" and wouldnt work with me...... figured id just pay it on monday 31st n e way.......HUGE MISTAKE they tacked on $137.00 to my rental agreement saying it was some plan that hits after 90 days....... so my new balance was now $295.00.... yea i only owed 158.36 was my balance but after the charge they fukked me.....now eveytime i pay only 50% of my payment is applied and they added that to my acct...... i dont wanna return merch cuz i love my couches and i need them but i feel ripped off and feel like there is nothing i can do...... dont ever rent from RAC they are scams that get over on people that cannot afford large outright purchases...... I did right by them and they fukked me 1 day early on my final payment.....I feel this is wrong and was a way to for them to get more money out of me since they knew i was a great customer...... always paid on time and paid in excess to hit the 90 days same as cash! they fukked up cuz i had plans to get a tv and dinnette but i guess they dont look at it this way..... considering the employees are all mcdonalds graduates that moved into the "corporate world" hahahahaha o well

i purchased a flat screen tv and stand. every month i send in my payments. the rent a center is calling me saying my payments are late. i send in 4 days before. they have also called one of friends herrassing her also.yesterday i got a call saying i cannot pay it on line. i'm tried of this .also when they call they are very nasty and rude. if this is not fixed i will have my attorney on this. this is very embrassing.

We rent from RAC on S. 11th St in Springfield Illinois. The employees at this store are very rude. I understand the courtesy calls, however after the initial call, within an hour we have several calls coming in saying that we need to be in within an hour to make the payment or they are coming to get the tv. The store opens at 9am, by 9:05am we get the courtesy call. By 10am and atleast 3 more time before noon we get calls saying we have to be there within an hour. Every call is a different employee. We call the store manager and he says that they are just doing their jobs. Then we have an acct manager named Fate who is as ignorant as a human can be. He will call, speek to either myself or my husband, and then an hour or so later he shows up at our door. He will start by yelling at my dogs to shut the hell up when they bark at the door when the doorbell is rung. Then he says that he has tried calling all morning with no answer.. Really? Then he never gets his information right. It's payment due day, our payments are about $40... He will tell us that we have to pay CASH to him but he says the payment due is $95! I've asked to get a different acct manager and they refuse. Then there is Monica. She isn't much smarter. She will call multiple times a day- ON PAYMENT DUE DAY- and say if the payment isn't in by noon, we will have to make 2 payments and a $15 late fee... How is that. Then when I call the store manager he says she is just trying to get us in there. I'm tired of the bullshit. The tv is almost paid off and we will never be back there. They are rude and scam artists and we will never rent from there again. We have dealt with RAC for 6 years. We moved and decided to deal with this store cause it was alot closer. We will never be back!

I have been a customer of RAC for many years .. Just finished paying off my 50in tv a few weeks ago and was told they will give me my certificate later well i called today for my certiicate and she tells me she can't print one unless its the day you pay it off, wtf is that then i asked about getting a steroeo and she tells me i have to pay for a whole month. They just lost a good customer of 12 years now i will go to Aarons.Very unsatisfied customer...

renting a computer having problems for the third time with they said they would give me a loaner until mine is fixed but they want to give me a shit computer and pay the same price as im paying for this computer which is supposed to be top of the line. then the sales people were yelling at me when i refused and also hung up on me i have been dealing with this same store for over 20 years i have been there longer then the store manager or any of them have been there as a matter of fact the i havebeen dealing with this store when our district manager was just a saleman and he became a store manager and now he is our district mananger and of course the computer is almst paid off but i will lose the money i paid into it im going to aarrons!!!!!!!!!!!!

The RAC in Jackson MI on Argyle has gone to crap since the awesome asst. manager left. Today I had the cops show up to my house to with RAC to HOLD my T.V. When I asked the manager to call me back this afternoon. No Phone Call, when I called I had to talk to the new Asst.Mang we will call him SHERRIFF PRICK. He was rude on the phone told me he was gunna bust up in my house,So instead he pussyed out and called the cops to go with them. I have complained to the home office we will see what happens.

I am not a customer of Rent A Center, but someone in my household is. It's seems that the store she rents from has a old skool loan shark mentality. Rep ring my doorbell, and I can tell them all day long the person is not there, however they will tell me that they are not leaving my front door. This past weekend I have experienced the WORST form of harassment by this company. the Rep returned for a second time within an hour and begin to bang on my doors and windows scaring my 11 year old dauhter. WHEN DOES IT STOP. This is the Moreno Valley California Store on Sunnymead Blvd. I called the customer service number 800/422-8186. I request that the district and regional managers call me about the actions that his store reps have taken. It's been six days and I have spoken to the district manager a few times but the regional manager has not called back as of yet. So it's on to writing a letter to the corporate office. Good Luck to everyone, contact customer service. This bullying must stop.

R.A.C is the worst place ever. I purchased a table from. Every time the payment was due as a courtesy they would call me, to go make a payment. The last payment that was due for $200. on a friday they never called to remind me but they did call me Monday to inform me that now my bill with them was 647. So i kept making payments it got so bad and the customer service was so poor, they started contacting all my family member and friends telling them what i purchased i needed to go make a payment the amount, Because i was so upset and emberass of what they has done i contacted them in Nov 2010 and told them to please pick the table. The following year Feb 2011 they contacted me and told I had a 700. credit. So i go into the store and they tell i have to get a used table, but they dont have one so i leave. Then i received a letter stating that i have a credit of 700 dollars and i can purchase something new or used. The store manager Darly refuse. He says i have to get something used even though they dont have nothing available and they can only credit 300 not 700. Today i went into the store in less than 5 minutes the store manager approach was very rude and told me leave. This is at the Fontana, CA store do not go there R.A.C is a scam they try to steal your money....

I have been a customer for Rac for years. I have bought and paid for several items. Never have I had any problems until now. Keith the asst. manager at my store is great. I bought a dining table and four chairs. Paid off early. I ask if they could order me 2 more chairs, they said yes. This was in Sept. I have already paid for these chairs and now they are saying that they won't be here until Thanksgiving almost 3 months from order time. Ask for my money back, was told they couldn't do that, they said they would have to get the chairs from another store if mine didn't come in by Thanksgiving. I am very upset right now. I purchased 1 touch screen system and a laptop both ACER's and about 6 months ago I was having major issues on getting both of them registered with ACER.Then I was told by a local store manger they were both registered. I call ACER's automated system tonight and found they were NOT ever registered nor did I ever have any kind of warrant on either of them. and paid just under 2500.00 for both of them.(this money was given to my from my deceased father for me to enjoy)guess not. I am extremely PO'ed and NEVER refer anyone to these people ever again. NEVER! Thanks R.A.C for taking my money with absolutley no anything and for lying to me.I now see how you people operate. This is very wrong! Now I'll have to get my attorney in all this mess. What a shame.

I was reading through these comments and noticed the comment about reading your agreedment. My response to that is..... if you are that illiterate to not realize that most of the people on here complaining are repeat and long time customers. Meaning they have read agreed and upheld the previous agreement and just expect respect and for RAC to uphold their part..... witch they don't. I rented about 4 years ago, a "NEW" laptop, because I needed one for school and did not want to wait 2 weeks to buy one. The first day I received it, it wouldn't turn on. Took it back and they stated they could fix it. About 2 weeks went past, I went in to not only pick it up ( on the day they designated ), but to also pay for it 90 days same as cash. They handed it to me all packed up and ready being as though I had already advised them of the full payment. Something told me to take it out and turn it on. Again it did not come on. So if RAC is so great why was a so called new laptop not turning one? Well I decided to leave without buying their merchandise and with them have their property. RAC is a scam. For you people that stand by them you are either stupid or part of the scam..... so " REALLY, ARE YOU SERIOUS " that.....!!!

I have also had a bad situation with rent a center where I had gotten some items from rent a center and a week later had sent a check for the full amount from the bank only to have rent a center call every week and ask for the payments and or to give back their property. Me and my wife have proof that the items were paid for and that the bank sent them the money. The district manager had told us that we did not send them any money and that we were liars and they are not going to listen to us and an officer was going to come out to our house and arrest us for stealing the property. We talked to the bank and wondered what had happened to the check and come to find out the manager had cashed the check and used it for his personal use and tried to blame us for not paying for it and when I called corporate they were very disrespectful and called us liars and stated that we stole from them and sold their items and we are stupid people. I want this resolved and this all happened in Bozeman Montana.

While you may be right about everything you say when it comes to customers breaking their rental agreements with RAC, it in no way shape or form gives RAC the right to break the law by harassing, stalking and threatening their customers who miss a payment. What the F*** gives RAC the right to call my house 6 times a day until payment is made, when PSE&G and the car dealership won't when I'm late on my car payment or the electric bill, which is significantly more per month than what I owe RAC? Excuse me for challenging your defense of RAC, but why in the hell would I return my laptop which is $47 from being paid off just to honor the rental agreement when I can't make a week's payment on it? Why should I have to worry about someone at RAC retrieving personal information from my laptop while they HOLD IT until I can make the next payment? What kind of logic dictates that if I can't make a week's payment on my GAS DRYER, I should still honor the rental agreement and have them come and disconnect the dryer, take it back for one week, just to have them bring it back when I can make the payment where I then have to either reconnect the gasline back up myself or pay the GAS company to come out and do it for me? If the manager at my RAC thinks he's perfectly within his legal rights to call me 6 times a day for his payment, then why does he stop calling my house when I threaten to file a complaint against him if he calls again. Balls in your court buddy
