I suggest avoiding Jiffy Lube on Rt. 55 near Rt. 54. They’re not what they used to be. I brought a new truck there. The manager was a tallish with a goatee with some gray hair. I asked if they would be careful to leave the interior clean. He indignantly said, “We’ll do our best.” He wasn’t reassuring of that one thing--it should’ve been my cue to leave but I needed the service. My “finished” truck had oil everywhere. I called him over, showed him oil spots and he wiped them down, saying it was fine (rudely) and left. I called him back 5 times! He was unapologetic about messing up my truck, acted like oil was nothing—as if it was on me to clean up after a $60 oil change, and got nastier each time I called him back. He made comments like “I don’t know what condition it was in when it got here”, trying to blame the filth on me and said something similar when I pointed out motor oil on my steering wheel;“Yeah, ok I oiled up my wheel just before coming here.” Give me a break! The clincher, when it looked cleaned up after 10 minutes of this, because the boss had no iniative, I got in, grabbed my gearshift and got oil all over my palm. They should get rid of that guy—at $60 a pop, I’ll have Hendrick do it instead and get a free car wash in the deal!
Sirs, I submitted an email via your feedback web page aoril 11 and have had no reply to date regarding a problem with one of your facilities in Casa Grande Az.(#3293). Apparently the attendants there failed to replace the screws that cover the undercarriage to facilitae changing oil on 3/26/11. During the trip back to Texas on April 9, the flap partially loosened and tore, causing other protective covers underneath my 05 Jetta to also loosen and tear. The bottom line, It just cost me $275.00 to replace same. I would like to know what you can do do recoup my outlay. Hopefully, I will get a reply to this email.
There are no other words that I can use to express it........they are F****** crooks...besides the $39.00 for inspection (which is normal) they charged me $4.99 for "battery cleaning"which was not authorized I have no idea whether windshield wipers come under items that must pass for inspection. All I know is they claimed that they do and they charged me $33.98 for a pair of them. I discovered a newly opened supermarket in my area in the past several months and have been encouraging everyone I come in contact to shop there becazuse of the excellent prices & service. Many of come back to thank me for doing so It should come as no surprise to you that I will be telling twice as many people to avoid doing any business with Jiffy Lube. I may appear to be bragging, but I know that I am a rather influential person. Like the old TV commercial, "When Smith-Barney speaks, people listen". I can personally guarantee that at least the location where I was yesterday will lose far more dollars than the inflated price they charged me. I am not a malicious nor vindicative purpose but you might want to say that they made their bed, now THEY can lie in it.
On 2/11/11 I took my Toyota 4Runner to Jiffy Lube in Stafford Va. for an oil change. As I pulled up to the oil change bay I was greeted by a Tech.I advised him right away that the hood support struts on the hood were weak and that he would have to use a prop rod for the hood. He said "no problem,we have those".During the oil change I observed a Tech. had laid a clipboard on top of the engine.I also observed the Manager Zack drop the oil fill cap down into the "PIT". I then looked up under my hood where the insulation is and noticed a new hole in it just above where the clipboard was. Zack then moved the clipboard to a center podium. I continued to watch the entire service on my vehicle to be sure nothing else was damaged. After they were done I went to the counter and spoke with with an employee named Mark.I explained that I had just washed my truck and had cleaned the engine compartment earlier that morning and I knew for a fact there was no damage when I arrived to have an oil change.I told him what I had observed during the service. I told him if we open the hood there will be a hole the exact size and shape as the metal clip part of the clipboard. He told the Tech to open the hood and I reached over to the podium and grabbed the clipboard. I then held the clipboard up to the hole...it was a perfect match. He then called his Manager Zack over and I explained again to him this time what I observed. He took out his phone and took a couple of photos of the damage.Zack then tried to pull out the indented and torn hole with his finger. He offered to put a piece of tape over the hole to repair it.I explained that this is my wifes NEW truck and that would NOT be an acceptable repair!Zack then said that they would order the new part(new hood insulation) and that they would call when it is in.After several attempts,to resolve this matter I asked another Mgr.Doug who the District manager was. I called Dennis Shae on 2/24/11 and left a message. Called again 2/25/11, no return call. Finally called on 3/3/11 and spoke with Dennis. He said he was aware of the situation and the part has been ordered.Dennis said they will call back to schedule to install the part.It is now 4/7/11 and after several more calls to Dennis we have yet to have this issue resolved. As of today if nothing is done we go another route!!Corporate calls may not work as I have read other complaints.Better Business Bureau and possibly an Attorney may be out next moves. Its not a costly repair as some customers have experienced now it is just the princible of the whole matter.
Let me tell you my story, Iv'e gone to Jiffy Lube for service before and it was just OK and I am a gear head meaning I know about engines cars ect. This guy here in Longview , Wa. told me that I needed to change my rear end gear oil and transfer case oil,and it was leaking? Well Two days before I hade just put a complete NEW rear end in and had all the seals replaced in trans., and transfer case and all I wanted was just the oil changed and this guy told me that I needed new seals in everything I just had replaced, he thought I was a dummy I guess well I never had an oil leak but now I do. I also saw him over sell this LADY on what she thought would be a complete overhaul the way he made it sound like that she needed, they sold it to her all right but when she left all they did was change her oil and grease her car for around $250.00 I watched them screw her and now I am mad as hell about the practice of this Jiffy Lube and can no longer trust anyone to change my oil unless I am under the car myself observing!!Bye the way I have several cars and I would rather have WAL MART change my oil now.
My recipt shows coolant was full, then they told me they need to "top off the coolant" contradicting themselves. When I took a clser look at the receipt, the seems to be 3 taxing issues "taxable, "non-taxble then "tax" I have NO idea what this is all about. I did ask and they couldn't seem to come up with answer. They also tried to tell me I need a new air filter / just bought one myself! And they said I need a fuel filter / per the manufacturer - the fuel filter in my vehicle is inside the tank therefore, could not and will never need to be replaced. They also neglected to check my tire pressure. Shady shady shay. Do NOT have your oil changed there.
If I could give less that a 1 star rating, I certainly would! Beware if you have a car with over 75000 miles, because these jerks will tell you that your manual says that your car requires High Mileage Oil. Basically what it means is that....WE ARE GOING TO CHARGE YOU AN EXTRA $20 FOR AN OIL CHANGE! Then my personal favorite was that the car needed anti-freeze. So for 2 quarts (translated, 2 quarts = 1/2 gallon) they charge another $9, yet I can buy a gallon of anit-freeze for $8. Pretty much if you go to Jiffy Lube, you might as well bend over because they are gonna screw you over....& most likely with High Mileage Oil!
IM NOT TO HAPPY WITH JIFFY LUBE FRANCHISE, LITTLE DID I KNOW I WAS DEALING WITH PEOPLE THAT DONT RETURN YOUR CALLS ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY KNOW THEY VERIFIED AND COMFIRMED IT WAS THEIR FAULT, AFTER VIEWING THE CAMERAS, THIS IS MY THIRD INCIDENT AND IM TAKING IT TO COURT. JIFFY LUBE MADE SEVERAL PROMISES INCLUDING REIMBURSING ME FOR A RENTAL CAR AND REPLACING MY ENGINE WITH GOOD WARRANTY, THEY NOT ONLY ALTERED MY CERTIFIED 7 YEAR 100K MILE WARRANTY ON MY TOYOTA TUNDRA TRUCK BUT DECIDED TO MAKE A POOR DECISION BY IGNORING MY CALLS AND THE 2ND INCIDENT, JIFFY LUBE NOTICED MY HONDA ACCORD DID NOT HAVE OIL SO THEY JUST FILLED IT UP THERE AND THEN. I NEVER THOUGHT JIFFY LUBE OPERATED IN ANY WAY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNETHICAL AND DISHONEST, BUT THIS TIME I CAN CONFIRM. NOT TO MENTION ABOUT A FEW YEARS AGO, I TOOK MY TOYOTA CAMRY LE TO JIFFY LUBE AND I JUST CONFIRMED WTIH MY DEALERSHIP RIGHT AFTER THE-SO-CALL-OIL-CHANGE. I MADE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP JUST IN TIME TO TRADE IN MY BURNED ENGINE CAMRY I HAD RECENTLY PURCHASED AND I HAD TO TRADE IT IN FOR A NEW HONDA CIVIC 99. IM NOT GOING INTO DETAIL JUST A BRIEF SUMMARY SO WE CAN SETTLE THIS OUT OF COURT. PLEASE EMAIL ME ASAP. IM NOT TO HAPPY AND YES I DID NOTIFY MY INSURANCE AND MY MECHANIC AND MY DEALERSHIP I HAVE EVERYTHING ON RECORD. MY EMAIL IS CHICARACELI@AOL.COM.
Be very careful! I will never return to a Jiffy Lube again. I went for an oil change recently. While patiently waiting in an uncomfortable plastic chair, the mechanic approached me with curious various colored stains on an estimate sheet. He claimed that my previous mechanic had put the wrong fluids in for the transmisson and numerous other mechanical issues needed to be fixed immediately. What was suppose to be under $40 was now escalating to over $400. Despite the "instructional" sales tactic, I insisted that only my oil was to be changed. I recently received a reminder for my next oil change from this facility. They addressed it to "Piggy." (Not my name...) Can they REALLY be that stupid? Too bad I didn't read these reviews before I swung in for car maintenance.
Jiffy Lube in Clinton, MD has some issues regarding drugs. A young man that I volunteer with stated that when he applied to work there the General manager left him alone. Their weren't enough tools to do the job. This presents both a safety issue and quality issue.
Jiffy Lube in Lexington, MD has some issues regarding poor salesman ship. An employee there is pushing for un-needed service especially for those customers who are income restricted and are ederly. For example asking for a simple oil change and being told that the vehicle needs $1000 worth of preventive service.
On January 28 I took my 09 Jeep to Jiffy Lube #292 (Palos Heights, IL) store for a routine oil change. I've been going there for many years and never had a problem with them until this visit. Everything seemed fine with my car until I noticed the next day that both tires on the right hand side were completely flat. Nothing was wrong with the tires, but upon further inspection, we noticed that the tire pressure sensors were snapped at the top of the stem, causing a slow leak. I also noticed that when Jiffy Lube was checking the tire pressure that they never put the caps back on the stems because if they did, I would have had two flat tires right then and there. I went back to Jiffy Lube with the broken parts and all they could say was "Sorry for the inconvenience...there's nothing we can do about it." Really?! So $220 later after fixing my tires, I'm still waiting to hear back from Jiffy Lube. I've called the corporate office numerous times and was put on hold for 40 minutes or so just to speak to a live person. The customer service rep I spoke to said that a person from Jiffy Lube's SE Midwest Division would be contacting me, but I have never heard back from them. I've been trying to find this division's number, but to no avail and the customer service rep said that they would contact me. Needless to say I will NEVER use Jiffy Lube for anything and I encourage others to follow suit. I can't believe that Jiffy Lube would let me leave their shop with not only one potential hazard but two without informing me of the damage they caused to my car. All they did was hand me my keys and said "have a nice day" with a smile on their face.
Saturday Feb 05,2011 My 94 toyota pickup truck with manual transmission required fluid change. I called Jiffy Lube @ Laura Duncan rd, Apex, NC and they quoted me for $41.99. I drove by and it's crowded of people so I took my truck to this place (941 High House rd, Cary, NC). The lead technician want to charge me $119.99 for the job. I told him my truck is a manual and it's very easy to drain and fill. $119.99 is for Automatic transmission because it's harder to measure. The technician insisted that he has to use "electronic" to measure the level when fill and it will cost $119.99. I told him that he can measure the fluid with the finger at filler plug. He laughed at me and make fun with my "finger" comment. I told him that I want my truck out of the garage. He pulled it out and slammed the door hard! I took my truck back to Jiffy Lube @Laura Duncan rd. location and they did it in 15 min for $41.99 It's either these guys ( at High House Rd location) don't know what they are doing or they are con men! Please bring your business somewhere else or you will regret! I wrote a complain letter to Jiffy Lube's customer service but didn't hear back from them! What a shame.
I have gone to Jiffy Lube for years with the understanding that they do not have access to anything beyond the most basic maintenance--no air filter scams, no manufacturer's bulletin requiring change, nothing. Whenever I have been presented with one of their "mandatory" or "critical" fixes, I reply that I will take it under advisement and consult my mechanics but thank you just the same. Jiffy Lube gets you anyway, though, don't they. I went in for another one of my gas guzzling top-offs (I have a little '91 Honda CRX SI that has an oil leak), and the manager (I discovered during this visit), who invariably has to ask for the mileage at least twice, usually three times, was the one to top it off this time. He pops the hood and I see a little bit of him through the windshield bending forward to check the oil level and POW! Green coolant explodes up my windshied along with a muffled bang. I jump out of the car and ask what the he^% happened and he is standing there with coolant all over his face and down the front of his jacket. He said it just exploded but as we examined it, it was obvious he had leaned on the radiator cowling and broke it as there was a parallel crack the length of the mount on the engine side. When I said that I had not had any evidence of overheating, had just driven the day before back and forth to Santa Cruz (approx. 90 miles round trip from home), no coolant on the carport floor at home...nothing. His reply was that there was coolant on the floor now???!!! I couldn't believe it. It had just exploded up the windshield and all over him and he had the audacity to make some correlation that the fluid on the floor was anything other than what had just ejected from my radiator. Unbelievable stupidity. I just could not fathom if he was really that incompetent or if he was already trying to defer blame. Perhaps both. Yet, I still got on the phone and called my mechanic. I had to leave a msg. asking if there was any way, in his vast experience, in which a car that had exhibited no signs of overheating after driving extensively, no overheating on the gauges, no steam when he opened the hood and without any provocation, whatsoever, coolant spews at high velocity up to the windshield and into the face of this mechanic that is standing over the vehicle if that mechanic did NOT put pressure on that cowling to cause that parallel crack along the top of the radiator, consistent with someone bearing their weight on it and it giving way? Has that ever happened? This person was not going to take responsibility and when it became clear that he was the manager and still was not going to own up to it, I asked for his manager's name, to which he replied, "he's not here." I didn't ask if he was here, what is his name, "Brian." It was like pulling teeth. I had to ask another worker. I finally got the full name. There was nothing more to be done there. So, I left. I went immediately to my mechanic and as expected the damage was due to his leaning on the radiator. To be completely honest, the car is older and the radiator is the original. My mechanic pointed out that it had minor leaks down below and that in time, it would have needed replacing. And that is the point--his actions forced the repair at a cost of $475.00 + rental car at $46.00. So, there is no question for all of his insistence that he did not lean on the cowling, of course he did. However, I don't think it will make any difference, whatsoever, after reading all of these testimonials. So, I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and will file a complaint against them. We have no power as consumer unless we use those agencies that are in place to protect us...and the Better Business Bureau is one of them. It sounds to me as if Jiffy Lube needs to be put out of business with a business model such as theirs or bought up by someone who cares that younger workers learn that ethics matter. They hire young people who either do or don't have a sense of what is right and wrong. They seem to be helping them down the path to lying, deceiving and evading their most basic obligation to take responsibility for their actions...or mistakes, depending on how you look at it. We certainly don't need more of that in this world, do we? After what we have all been through with the financial markets in the last few years, goodness gracious. Business isn't all lightness and flowers, I get that. Your customers would eat you alive, but there a place somewhere closer to the middle where most of your customers believe you stand for something right and correct. There will always be outliers, always and they are the "can't please everyones". We know that. But testimonials like these should worry a company...1=10,10=100,100=1000. We've all seen the metric in marketing classes of how word of mouth spreads and bad word of mouth spreads like wild fire. I hope they figure it out. I will never risk my car to their care again.
I took my 2006 Toyota Corolla to Jiffy Lube in December. After draining the oil out of the car the attendentforgot to put oil back in the car. This caused the motor to burn up.resulting in $5,000 damage to the motor.
My brother started working at a Jiffy Lube in Colorado at the beginning of 2011. He was fired today because he didn't know the Jiffy Lube Mission Statement. I cannot believe in our economic times like this, that one would be fired for something like this. I can see being fired for coming in late, missing work, not working when they are suppose to be working but THIS!! I will NEVER be taking my vehicle to a Jiffy Lub ever again because of this. Jiffy Lube should be ashamed.
I took my 2001 Porsche Boxster into store # 2298 (Houston Area) for state inspection. The inspector scratched the dashboard severly while removing the old sticker. The store manager (Mwey Robinson) at first was very accommodating and anxious to resolve the issue. I acknowledged that the car was 10-years old and that I didn't expect that the dashboard be replaced only have a upholstery shop sand and use upholstery paint to lessen the visual impact of all the scratches. It's now been 6-weeks and Mr. Robinson has done nothing.
I recently took my truck to the Jacksonville, NC store (452 Western Blvd) and the staff was awesome, but the shining star was DOUG! This guy is amazing ......and if he is not the manager he should be. The guy is a little whiz who greets everyone by name and is so attentive to our vehicles. I had to leave and come back because my son had an event and he was so gracious. Give him a raise, because whatever he makes is not enough. And make him manager if he is not, because he deserves it. Thank you Doug!
I was switching careers and needed some part time work. I took a job at jiffy lube in Hillsboro, OR and quit a week latter. The practices I seen there where absolutely amateur. If they had a lot of cars waiting they would play under your hood to look like they are doing something, drain your oil only half way, lie to people to get them to pay. On top of that they would talk down to each other in front of customers. I would of rather took a job at Taco Bell, and I am a commercial diver by trade. What a joke.
On 11|8|10 my wife took her caddy to the jiffy lube at 55 daily rd.in camarillo calif.for a simple routine oil change. One evening two weeks latter after she came home from work she told me her car was making a funny noise so i went out and started the car and i herd the valve lifters ticking.I turned off the car pulled out the oil dip stick and it showed a little dab of oil on it.I had to pour four quarts of synthetic oil into her car to get the oil to go to the full mark on the dip stick, her car needs five quarts of oil for a complete oil change.I had my mechanic check her car for oil leakes and he said there was none.My wifes caddy has low mileage it dosnt burn four quarts of synthetic oil in two weeks. Her car seems to be ok but we are upset and in disbelive that jiffy lube can make those kind of mistakes. No pride or shame.I had advised her not to go there because THEY ARE NOT MECHANICS and i heard of there bad servise. So dont spin the wheel of chance and your # comes up and you become one of there victims of bad service.Use your mechanic not these stooges.
