I have shopped at Food Lion ever since I moved to Cherokee, NC. Once in a while I had to go to the local IGA. It closed and I only have the choice of Food Lion unless I want to drive to Ingles (25 miles away) or 30 miles someplace else. I liked Food Lion in Cherokee but it is getting harder and harder to get the things I used to get and liked being able to get. They once had some instant frozen potatoes that you put so many in a bowl and zap it in the microwave. My husband is a picky eater and he liked them. They were good. A few weeks later, they were no more. My husband likes getting the cinnamon altoids to curb his smoking. They don't get them anymore either. Now, for some crazy reason, the jars of instant tea are all gone and they are replaced by tea bags of many flavors, tea canisters that are the teas with lemon flavor. I kid you not, almost every one of them were teas with lemon. I don't like lemon in my tea. I don't care for the ones with any other flavor in them. I do like my sweet tea though. Why would they do that? I know they have their jugs of premade sweet tea but I can't always afford that. I need to buy what I can get the most from and can afford. I know a lot of people liked the cinnamon altoids to. For the most part, they are friendly, but I can't understand why they stop having things people like and replace it with all the same flavor.I feel like it is going down hill.

WHILE GROCERY SHOPPING AT FOOD LION 2543 IT STARTED RAINING VERY HARD. WHEN FINISHED I PULLED MY CAR AS CLOSE TO THE OVER HANG AS POSSIBLE AND LOADED MY GROCERIES WHILE 5 NO LESS YOUNG EMPLOYEES SAT IN FRONT OF THE STORE SMOKING AND LAUGHING NEVER OFFERED TO HELP. GOOD RIDDENS FOOD LION

I love the FOOD LION in Pembroke NC They are always nice to me :-)

Food Lion is putting itself out of business with some of the ridiculous prices on some or many of the items sold. The staff seems grouchy, they don't know or just don't care about their store and company.

seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!you are closing down the food lion in bristol virginia off of lee highway.you know it makes me very angry that you put your money before your consideration of others.these people that work at store #1679 are the sweetest most kind people that you could meet, they have not only became my friends but part of my family.i have called a 1800 number and expressed my concern but because i am just an "average"person i was told that i probably wouldnt get in touch with the so called "big guy".you know not only did you hurt your used to be customers, and your employers but you also hurt there familys there children there husbands/wifes.how would you like it if you was just trying to make a living and provide for your family, then on a drop of a dime was informed that you was loosing your job.oh wait.......your mind cant think like that because its up to high in the sky and not getting enough oxygen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!FOOD LION IS VERY INCONSIDERATE OF OTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are closing our small neighborhood store in Smyrna, TN. It is just that. A small neighborhood store. And it does well. Perfectly located to several large subdivisions . I have shopped there since I believe, 1985. I do not need any other grocery store because of the convenience. If you are under the impression that the 100's of people in those neighborhoods, that use that store for it's convenience, are going to now bypass the Krogers and Wal-Mart and Publix to reach your other larger store, you are mistaken. Food Lion just lost a lot of customers in Smyrna. Please reconsider this closing. Thanks.

I have been trying to settle the damage to my 2008 Cadillac since August 2011. I've sent to estimates to you and I was finally contacted by a Dan Conally, after a while we lost contact. This is about the 10th letter I have sent. I would like to settle this matter. The estimates I sent has went up 10% due to inflation. PLEASE DON'T CLOSE OUR FOOD LION ON HOUSTON ROAD IN MACON GEORGIA! We shop there constantly and are very happy with the store - the stock, the staff, and especially, the location.

I am very saddened about the closings of the Food Lions in Stanford and Danville KY. I live in Somerset where our Food Lion closed a few years ago. When it closed I started going to the one in Stanford and often to the one in Danville. We went every week without fail. What is the problem???? Why are these stores closing? Is this something that we can blame on the almighty Walmart?? Not everybody wants to go to Walmart! They want the friendly folks and the good service from stores like Food Lion!!

What are you thibking by closing the store in Port Orange, Florida. We have so many elderly people who don't drive that don't drive who walk to that store. With this store closing it means the closest store around will be the Walmart which is about 2 miles away. This store is always busy. We love the employees and are just like one big happy family. Just last year thyey did a complete renovation. This was just money wasted. PLEASE RETHINK THIS OVER AND LEAVE OUR STORE OPEN.

Why are you closing the Food Lion that is right outside of a major military base... Mayport Naval Base, Atlantic Beach, Florida. I like shopping at that store, the people were friendly, the store is so convinent, you had good prices on the food, and I know you did the business cause you were always out of things. Now you are closing it and leaving the area without a store that is close. Wow way to let the community down.

I'm wandering why you are closing the Food Lion in Rossville, Ga. I have recently started shopping more frequently at Food Lion in the last three months. The quality of the food is much better. Most of the staff are very nice and the wait is usually not long. Bi-Lo, the Dollar General Market, and Wal-Mart prices have started to go up. The Food Lion in my area has special marked down prices that are competitive with other stores and the food quality is better than I ever seen it at Food Lion. I believe your store in Rossville, Ga has regained the trust and confidence of customers as I have noticed an marked increase in customers in the last two months. I think you should reconsider closing the store and continue building this store's credibility.

We learned today that the Food Lion store in Danville, Ky will be closing in 30 days. This saddens me and my family a lot. This has been our neighborhood grocery store for the past 20 yrs. It is always very clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. We will certainly miss this store very much. Sorry to see you close and you will be missed by many. As for the employees, I wish you all the best in finding another job in this struggling economy.

Let me start by saying , On Jan. 4, 2012, A friend who happens to work at food lion was asked to leave from his place of residence, on a whim I toke him in , I live in Concord NC, which is about 8 miles from the food lion in Mint Hill. On Jan.8,2012 I called the local food lion, asking if I could bring an employee in at a later time then he was scheduled to be at work , (it might not have been my place to call) but, I felt, me being the person who is gonna drive him to work I had the right to ask if this was possible . But she (mrs. rolllins)told me that she would n't do this that he had to be there on time, within his scheduled time, I said "fine" , by the time came to pick him up from his work scheduled time off , she kept him an extra hour ,because she asked another employee to let him stay with her daughter in Charlotte NC on Pence Road, about 15 miles away. Because I couldn't get him to work that day which was the 9th, the nexr day. She had arranged for him to stay with a co-worker which I was fine with, (less BS)for daughter and I . That's when the it hit the fan . She (mrs. rollins) stated to the co-worker that I was a drug addict, and therefore I couldn't bring him in on time, which is BS... Now within food lion, I am a target for looks of discrimation, and racial profiling. "New" manager which is mrs. rollins has been following me around the store and asking questions to her employees about me I called on the 10th. of Jan.2012. I have spoken to the (jacob) the customer service manager about a incident was told that the headquarters contact information wasn't given out to the public, I had to look up the information either by internet or by calling other food lion stores, Me as a customer, I have be insulted, threated and belittle by the DM and GM , MR. Trio and Mrs. Kim Rollins. Because I have a NEW YORK Accent and attitude and PUERTORICAN. I have been a customer at the Mint Hill NC food lion #(1371)for about 3 yrs. Mrs rollins has been asking questions about me, how do the employees know me? She has already assumed that I am a drug addict. The employees are being threated to be terminated for speaking or associating with me. It has been getting worst since the begining of the yr, now she is telling people that I have threated her, by word of mouth, secondary... (mr. trio-DM)I wanted to go thur the chain of command, I have called the customer service # which is 1800-210-9569 , spoke to a customer service representative (nicole) she place an email to mr. trio about the incident, was told it would that is going to be handled in a professional manner, mr. trio called me about 11am on 01-12-2012, I told him the situtation with mrs. rollins. I told him about how this lady(mrs. rollins) has been accusing me of being a drug addict and asking questions, but he just made it worst by adding fuel to the fire ,instead of handling the problem as a DM he told her what we spoke about. Lo and behold now she going to terminated all the employees who know me personally. All I wanted was to shop peacefully and with no one standing behide me or talking trash about me. Mrs rollins thought that it wasn't going to get back to me the stuff she has said about me, knowing that they know me !So imagine how they talk behind your(customers)backs (yes, the store managers and assistants)..You will be belittled, you will be humiliated, mrs. rollins has the whole store buzzin about the incident , in fact it has gotten to a employee's Mother which lives in Wisconson, Mrs Howard called me threatin me to stay away from her son. Of course she also believes what mrs. rollins is saying about me .I always wondered why food lion having 10 different managers in one store)can cause so much stress for you that you have no option except to quit going to that location or stop shopping at food lion all together.

I have had the unfortunate displeasure of having to work for food lion when i got out of the military, honorably. In my time there, even with a college degree; living abroad for many years; going through deployments; 100's of hours of volunteer work and a few years of prior grocery experience, i was started out at minimum wage and promised a raise after 6 months. Four 6-month time periods passed, and two yearly evaluations, both which were stellar, and no raise. it did not matter that i cut and wrapped meat in the market; closed the market every single weekend; was head stocker; also ran dairy, frozen food and ice cream; set ads and did inventories. I even ordered trucks (yes, all in the same store, mind you.) Within food lion, unless you know how to bend down on your knee and kiss GM and DM booty, you will NOT succeed within this company, in fact it's the exact opposite. You will be belittled, you will be scorned, you will be humiliated and under appreciated, you will get no raises, you will get no benefits, you will get no help from your fellow employees. You will however bend over backwards doing everything you can for everyone, and they will still ask and use you for more, and if you don't, they will cut your hours, talk behind your back (yes, the store and assistant managers who do nothing all day. i always wondered why food lion wastes millions of dollars having 10 different managers in one store)and cause so much stress for you that you have no option except to quit or commit suicide. I have been working since i was 12-years old and i am now 28. Food lion is by far one of the worst experiences in my life, and i was on two deployments. They do not care about their employees. They use the "economy" to pay you as low of wages as possible yet they are recording all time record profits. Also, if you have a talent of any sort that people can use or take advantage of, I highly recommend say nothing to anyone about it. They will all use you for their personal gain and when you have nothing left to offer, they will toss you off to the side; talk behind your back; start rumors; etc. The most fake and unfriendly employees work there. I am pretty sure it is a prerequisite to know how to walk all over people; make people feel like they're worthless and abuse your "power." With that said, I will make it my life's work to now make sure all of these things get out to the public. Funny that I am not the only one with this story, huh Food Lion Executives? You selfish, greedy peckerheads. I can't even feed my family while you are all playing with your ipads and your camaros and your huge houses and boats. Regards, Brandon L. Boucher

Food Lion Store - Berlin, Maryland 21811 To whom it may concern, For the past several years Food Lion has been very supportive in helping the community of Berlin Maryland by way of donating left-over breads and cake products to the local food pantries and charitable organizations. However since the beginning of this year 2012 Food Lion has now decided to cut-back on their donations to the local food pantries because of cut backs due to economic circumstances where Food Lion considers that their production of bread products, in particular are being wasted and thus costly to the local Food Lion stores. I couldn’t disagree more with this assumption. I volunteer for a local church food pantry in my community and we supply food to the poor of our community, such as meat products, [chop meat, chicken, hot dogs] breakfast cereals, canned foods, [soups, vegetables, pasta sauces, etc.] bread products, pasta, cakes products, and much, much more. Over the course of the past recent months, the numbers of families visiting our food pantry has increased, and even doubled due to the failing economy. There are so many people out of work. There are so many families in need of the bare essentials that most of us that are more fortunate, just take for granted. What I am asking is for Food Lion to please reconsider its decision to cut back on giving and contributing to their local community food banks, especially the one’s sponsored by local churches and local charities throughout their regions. I want to especially thank Food Lion for its generosity, its compassion via its food contributions to their local food banks and food pantries and charitable organizations. Please, please reconsider your cut-backs policy in this area. There are so many people and families who go without. Food Lion is so blessed in having so many faithful and loyal customers, and giving back to the poor is not only a blessing to their communities, it’s also, {I believe} a responsibility to their community. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to partner with you {Food Lion} and I hope that you will once again reconsider your new 2012 policy and continue to support your local community by way of donating. Thank you again, Sincerely , Gary Grazioso Food Pantry Volunteer Berlin First Baptist Church 17 William Street Berlin, Maryland ggraz01@verizon.net

Before Christmas, I spent over $140 at Food Lion in Hickory, NC on Highway 127. A few days later, I returned and spent more. Two of the items I purchased were 2 packages of country ham (1 large, a smaller) which cost about 25-26 dollars; and 2 pints of Hilton's Willapoint oysters, at approx. $10 each. I did not save the receipt. I was to take the country ham to a Muslim country for a friend, and he contacted me just about 2 days after purchase. He told me that he could not eat the high salt content and please not to bring country ham. I took it back to the store for a refund. They said it was their policy not to refund without a receipt nor to give a certificate for future use in place of the item. I think that is ridiculous. The oysters were, of course, carefully refrigerated, and on the "sell by" date (Dec. 30) I opened one, only to discover that it had a terrible mettalic odor. I had to throw it out. I still have the other- frozen- but did not try to get my money back since I had no good response the first time. I shop frequently at the FL at Sunset Beach, NC, and have shopped there for years. I have never had any problem such as this experienced near my home. I will certainly resist any urge to shop at Food Lion in the future.

The FL in Callaway, Md.is clean and the people nice but they don't carry Gluten Free produces. Today, I couldn't even find Corn Flake crumbs! As alergies are on the rise in this country, this is a big mistake for Food Lion. I will now start shopping elsewhere, ie. Giant because they care about people alergic to wheat and even carry frozen products. Another thing that FL has stopped carrying is cheese cloth which is vital when you make stuffed ham. This is something that is made year round in southern Maryland and again you have to go to Giant or another store to purchase it. I guess if Food Lion doesn't mind losing business, this is how they will continue to manage this store.
