I love the new look of the Food Lion in Rockingham,NC The one on hwy74 But please turn up the air ,I was in there at 2 pm today and it was way to warm ,I had noticed it a couple days ago also .Now that we have a nicer store, please make it more comfortable
All negative... and the CEO sucks at making commercials!!! Food Lion is the WORST company to work for , shop at and be associated with in general. That felt good!!
I've been working for you company for seven and half, almost eight years. Through good times and bad. Mostly bad. I've been located at the same store [0707] for all of my career with the delhaize/food lion family. I enjoy my job, my co-workers, and my customers. There has been often many times that I've gone into work, after having a bad day in my personal life, and thirty minutes into working, the pleasant attitudes of my fellow co-workers have lifted my spirits. I need to brag on a few of these People. Asst. Manager: Carl davis, Office persons: Joshua Blackmon, Phillip Pruitt, and Kathryn [can't remember her last name] Helen Craig. Fellow Sales associates/Cashiers: Matt Kinsey, Tim [last name forgotten], and Jalenn Farrar. Other associates that are pleasant to work with, and build a strong Crew: Leslie Mcgraw, Wanda Lane, Phyllis[ can't remember last name], Brinda, and Kathryn Ross. As wodnerful as the associates and Customers are, I'm disheartened by Foodlion. For the past three years[possibly longer], my hours have been cut severely. Often times, I get maybe one or two five hour shifts. I've held up my end of the obligations to Delhaize/foodlion. I feel they have not held up their obligations. I know if this gets read, that someone can do something about it. I appreciate your time for reading this.
Long time employee with the company and like most jobs you have good days and bad ones. I started as a bagger and worked my way up to a Store Manager. This was done by people believing in my and my visions. To the Lady who commented on the Berlin MD store around over production this is a focus. Please understand we don't produce product to give away we produce to sell it. If we continue to over produce those increased cost will be Passed onto the consumer. I have a great relationship with my local food bank and they purchase around $3,000 a month from me. I give them bottom line pricing. See your local manager and he/she will help you out
I have a problem with Laura Schiefle at the Blackstone VA store. Apparently she thinks she owns that store and she has free reign to do as she pleases. If you are a cashier you can't get your schedule until Saturday night for the next week. You cannot plan your week or if you have a babysitter they cannot make plans either. How in the world does Foodlion allow this? I called the corporate office and was told they couldn't do anything. If the main office can't help then who the heck do you contact? I wonder what the employees at the corporate office would do if they got their schedule the night before?
My husband and I were out of town and we went to a Food Lion in Rock Hill SC, store # 2155. The best impression I received from this store was the cashier whose name is Betsy. I usually shop at Food Lion in my hometown but the ones I shop at none of the cashiers were like Betsy. She made me feel welcomed and it almost felt like we were friends. My husband and I own a small business. Wow.. if I could only have an employee such as Betsy...what a blessing it would be for us. It would be awesome if you could use her to train ALL your cashiers. Most of the management stink...VERY unfriendly, hardly will speak to you...they have a title and believe they are better than anyone! If our business could truly afford it we would snatch her up in an instant! I hope you do realize what an asset you have in this young lady. I really hope you consider using her to train other cashiers. It almost makes me want to move to Rock Hill.. to get this WONDERFUL customer service! Your store is truly blessed with her!
Food Lion, Beaver Pond, Rocky Mount. I as verbally abusive by a Food Lion manager while dining at a restaurant. And the manager was on break ordering a beer at 1:00 P.M. She speeded into the restaurant parking lot, took a handicap parking space and came inches from hitting my car as I was trying to get into the handicap spot. Plate # ZSV3067 Honda, Name A.N.R Yes, I am handicap and was with my sister who is in a wheelchair. This mid 20’s person, not a lady, called me a B which I then asked her where her handicap sticker was. She gave me the finger and continued to call me B, F this F that. Once I got into the restaurant she again came into my face and yelled F this F that, B this B that. She said she was handicap because she was 4 months pregnant and she did not need a handicap sticker. PG and drinking a beer, some mother that will be. Management asked her to leave and she started this behavior with them. She was escorted out finally. A few hours after we stopped at FL and she was there working and gave me the finger again and put her fist up. I am calling the police on her and filing a omplaint. Someone with this kind of language working for such a company is not the kind of person I want to do business with. Sitting at a bar at 1:00 P.M., taking handicap space without a sticker, driving reckless in a busy parking lot is not a good example for the standards of Food Lion
I work for store 2563 and I have to say that the manager is very unprofessional. Talks dirty to employees (sexual harassment) and whenever HR is called nothing is done about it! the manager is a good buddy with Mister Chris Holmes, so tends to get whatever he wants. There has been many occasions when an employee(s) is promised a position and ends up bringing another person in from another store or hiring someone completely new!!!! These employees deserve much better and have had no reason to be denied a promotion (according to they're yearly evaluation) especially when there is a higher position needed to be filled! I for one am one of those employees. was promised to be placed in Office (after being a head cashier for over a year) and instead a guy that had been there only a few months was promoted. Even after in my evaluation the CSM stated that she would like to see me in office and thinks i would be a great addition to the Office team. yeah, right. And Food Lion2563 wonders why no one wants to come in and work when they really need the help! haha. if the cashiers (or all the employees for that matter) was treated better and actually felt appreciated it might not be that hard to find reliable people.. just saying.
I been an employee for 6 years and majority of my checks are given back when I buy groceries. I would love if employee discounts could be considered. This would boost employee morale as well. Our bonus checks been taken so could we do this at least.

My husband works for foodlion. He takes so much crap from them and Im going to put a stop to it no matter what it takes. If I was him they would have already fired me because I would not tolerate what he does. First he starts in produce and is promised a min 30 hours. Then they cut and cut and cut and then give him the frozen food position which is suppose to give him full time and a raise. Well come to find out AFTER he took the position another associate is coded for that posistion but does not work it, my husband has the position and works it!! He does the job without the pay and some weeks is only scheduled 25 hours. Recently the manager wanted to give him the dairy position. The store manager is great by the way, it is the details inbetween that is messed up. But anyways back to dairy, the manager wanted to give it to him because he is always there never misses a day and works extrememly hard even come in on days off if needed. It was up to the regional to approve the posistion change. The regional said no because he did not like his hair or earings!!!!!!! How fucked up is that?????? That is discrimination! The regional never even came to my husband to tell him he did not approve and DID NOT give him the opportunity to change his hair or earings he just said no based on discrimination bull shit.
Your location at 2935 WT Harris Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28215 denied my wife the rights to use her wic vouchers at there location. The store manager made some lousy excuse saying why they couldn't accept the vouchers. My wife is nine months pregnant and were denied her rights. I highly recommend that no one shops at this location due to there poor service and lack of customer care. This wont be last you hear from me with this issues. I am disgusted that they did not assist my wife with her needs due to her being so far along in her pregnancy. I will never shop at this location or any other Food Lion.

As a former employee I am extremely disappointed in how HR handled my situation when I called in asking questions. The New Store manager Janice at 2665 (Stanley, NC) was the main reason that I quit. She is a horribly nasty person and extremely unprofessional. As far as that goes The front end supervisor Jennifer and assistant supervisor Greg are extremely unprofessional as well. For the almost year and a half that I was employed at this store I saw on many occasions the customers being treated disrespectfully by Jennifer and even apologized to my customers for her behavior. Seeing from the inside out, I am not surprised at the stores that are closing down.If this company continues to be run the way it is, I foresee Food Loin being a business of the past..
I have been working at food lion for 2 years now. I started as a cashier and now I am the specialty merchandiser. When I was offered the job I was told that I would be a full time job. Now I'm getting told that my job only requires 10 hours to do. I don't understand how my store thinks that they can drop someones hours so drastically and still think they will have gas money to drive to the job for 10-15 hrs a week. I am also disappointed in the fact that almost every employee has had to go thru hoops to get a number to called for hr on our heartless manager. She has gone out of her way to offend almost everyone there personally numerous times. Also I have tried for days and the only numbers to call don't even work. I need my hours and my job requires way more than 10 a week. I have to do a truck, maint, backstock, new items, pull dates, ect and I only have 10 hours to do it. I takes 10 hours to do the truck alone. I'm the only one who does the job. No help. This company is gonna go out of business if they don't take care of there employees or there customers. I have seen so many customers stop shopping at our store. I believe we have lost 25% of our customers. And the loyal customers are mad at the way the employees are treated daily. Even the customers can see how we are getting treated. That's messed up. Taking away peoples hours in a depression in a state/county that is known as a "broke county" isn't right. Especially when people are willing to work and need hours to live and eat.
I was hired on January 18,2012 by one of youre managers. I have a package for part time lead customer service. I have went to store on 5 occasions spoke with manager about hours. Manager replied how 300 stores have closed. I asked Manage about getting my training hours.I worked and recieve paycheck and didnt finish training hours. I did no wrong and ask at another store to be transfered no one called me back on any explanation. Im lost on this I was really thriiled about working with youre team. I worked with youre company in high school had no problems working with youre company.
I have a complaint about a Asstiant Manager Latonya Pomeroy as customer i walks up to the western union department I acknowledge that she has made verbally written threats towards her employees quoting that they the employees have one week to score a 96% we only have to cashiers at standard practice AND IF YOU CANT PREFORM AT STANDARD PRACTICE LEVEL I WILL PULL APPLICATION I WILL PULL ASSOCIATES WHO CAN....i mean in reality that a public display degrading staff depreciating there morale. But again as a frequent shopper i know that her excessive phone use took up time while i was in line that highly pissed me off she appears to be a wishy-washy asst. manager that needs help or removed from that position because she needs to lead be example because if that is who i had to look up to it would be many sad days. There are other employees there as well maybe headquarters should step in and watch the cameras truly i bet 100% you will see don't notify you are coming they will take off. I have came in many times this week and has taken notice that she publicly embarrasses her associates in front of customers in stead of handling things in a professional manner and confronting them in a private setting. She talks to her associates as if they kids telling them how things should be done instead of helping them improve. Personally i feel like she is not fit for that position as a assistant manager. How can she tell her associates what not to do if she is doing the same thing. Shouldn't associates follow by example what do u expect them to do if there assistant manager is doing the same thing.
I have to say I am sad,but not because of the Food Lion being wrong or bad;I was out of work for over a year due to the company I worked for closed down.I was hired by one of the greatest stores you guys have and that is store #674.I had been there for about three weeks when I was call to the office to be told they were going to have to let me go due to me putting a no on my my criminal history,witch was a mistake I did not do it trying to hide it,I just was so happy to be getting a job I rushed the app,it was my fault in full.The manger at my stores name is Mike and he is a great man,he seemed to be hurt by the fact he had to be the one to let me go.I am not a criminal and the reason I have what is on my report is because I bought some tools at the flea market that ended up being stolen,I had no idea till I was stoped in a police check and they were surching for stuff that had been missing around the county,just my luck and when I went to court even after telling my story I was charged with poss.But anyways I have to say working at Food Lion and the people there I worked with was great and I have never worked anywhere that I have enjoyed as much as the time I spent there.I will always want to go back to work at Food Lion and have high hopes for another chance someday. To all the people that work there I would like to say your are lucky,so be proud of what you do and proud of the company you work for.On the last day I worked there we all did a huddle and talked about how well our store was doing and how great it was looking,I am very glad to say when you stop by our store and as soon as you walk in the door the sweet site of cleaness and the smileing faces to great you,I was a part of that and will miss it. I was an employee for foodlion for a year and a half they fired me today becuz I was informed that my managers was tlkn junk behind my back about my personal business outside of work and it wasn't true.....I was goin to give them a two week notice becuz we were short an office assistant but he said I had an attitude n said I didn't need to work two weeks so I took that as being fired but they said I quit....the store manager acts like he's big and bad and others say they have been threaten of there jobs n says he's a bully....I'm goin to file a complaint and I want corporate to know that these managers are the ones running the customers and hard workers away I'm call BBB and do whatever I can to get these managers wat they deserve
I have been shopping at Food Lion since my 31 year old daughter was small, but no more. I shop at the store located at 1920 Centerville Turnpike, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. We don't live far from the store, so my 14 year old twin boys go in there from time to time, to get sodas/snacks, etc. They were complaining that everytime they go in there, a manager (she is a black lady, not sure of her name, but will be getting it) always follows them around, giving them dirty looks and telling them to leave. Well, I just figured they were being boys, until one day I was in there shopping and they were with me and I witnessed it for myself. I saw her walking the aisles with this look on her face, and heard her say to an associate, "there are boys in here without a parent". I then spoke up and said I am their parent, is there a problem? She said she thought they were in the store by themselves and they were running. I told her there should not be a problem with them being in the store and she should ask them to stop running. I then approached the boys, and they said they were running because she was starring at them. I went back to this lady and asked her why she was always telling my boys they have to leave the store, are they doing something wrong, have they done anything to your store??? Because they ARE shopping, picking up a soda/snack, etc. She said "NO", but they look up at her and make themselves look guilty. I said, WHAT????. They are not doing anything wrong, but because you hunt them down and stare at them, when they look up at you, it makes them look guilty??? She was making no sense, and I feel like they should not be made to feel like criminals, when they have never been caught doing anything wrong. I don't want my boys (who are good boys) to be treated like criminals when they are not. What message is that sending? I will never shop there again. You just lost a longtime patron and future patrons.
