I am in total agreement with everybody in requards to customer service. A few days ago I installed a video card from which I bought from Dell. The card is defective and it needs to be sent back, its under warranty. I call Dell customer service for help and the same thing that is happening to a lot of you fine Americans out there I get people of the India persuasion. I spent over an hour of my valuable time trying to convince these people of some VERY BASIC THINGS. I needed the old card sent back, a new one sent. Sounds simple enough right....WRONG!!!! I got transferred so many times it would make your head spin. One particular rep ( India ) of course, made me purchase it all over again. To make a very long drawn out story short I spent the next TWO DAYS trying to get the neccesary numbers to ship back the old one and get credit for the new one. As of todays date I have not seen either. Finally I found a tech rep ( USA ) Horray!!!! named Amanda that took the Bull by the horns and helped me threw those NON HELPFUL outsourced reps. It now seems to be somewhat on track but I'll believe it more when I get my new part and more importantly my money back. No more Dell's for me either!!!!
Finding a power jack which is mounted inside the motherboard where AS adopter connects to is a NIGHTMARE I ordered from customer support twise the part for my customer's laptop which is not even two years old and twise I got the wrong part. For the 500th time I told and explained to customer supp that I want to make sure that you understood what I need, but again no results. After all they told me for the part do not have it,but will order it and will call me within 3-5 days. I never heard from them again.Three weeks have past and still nothing. Hope no more people complain about dell!!
Do you and your friends a favor, keep AWAY from DELL. "Dell The Machine of Hell" ... I was an avid supporter of Dell products for many years, have owned several have had friends buy several and my last purchase was an extreme nightmare. Dell Inspiron 2305 all-in-one touchscreen, graphics problems to no end. Continuously freezes, crashes and causes you to do a hard boot, which only makes the entire system all the much more unstable. I purchased mine a little over a year ago and it has been replaced once, then the hard drive replaced on the replacement machine. The integrated web cam NEVER WORKED and Dell sent me a stand alone cheap microsoft cam to fix it. So, why sell a computer with an integrated webcam if they have to send you a third party clip on to replace their design ? This is really sad, the quality of Dell has taken a nose dive into the toilet and you can rest assured I will be relaying this to any person that asks about computers again, as opposed to my previous of always suggesting they buy a Dell. NO MORE. I am done, lost a bucket load of money after being a Dell customer for numerous years, I will buy two cans & a string before every paying a nickel for another Dell. They also told me they were going to give me a $150.00 credit toward my next Dell purchase to help compensate for all the issues ... never got the credit, they must have just forgotten ? ... just as well, I would recommend this company to any consumer ever again. If I were aware of a class action suit, I'd be right there, no matter how much trouble it would be ... I'd do it just to shout out as yet another consumer ripped off by a conglomerate. Anyone hears of any action let me know darrtanyan | gmail.
I will never deal with Dell again. I spent $1500 on an XPS and a couple of hundred for AMERICAN customer suppot and service. When I call, I get India who tries to sell me additional customer support and service, cannot answer my questions, and refuses to connect me with America. Once you get your computer, you will never hear an American voice again. Corporate doesn't care once they have sold you the product.
Dell sux a**. I will NEVER buy another Dell and recommend no one ever does UNLESS they thoroughly enjoy speaking to Indian people. I have nothing against Indian people... except when they are with tech support and like to d*ck me around with what wrong with my computer and why they can't fix it. I was even told that sometimes, it can take up to TWO months to fix a computer.. and the tech said it so proudly. Yes, if I want to speak to an American I may of course, PAY to speak to one. Dell shouldnt take US dollars.. they should ask for payment in rupees if this is how they want to do business. It is hands down the worst and stupidest customer service/tech support I have EVER seen in my life. How is trouble shooting for over 6 weeks to try to fix the POS that dell sold me ok? I hate Dell. I abhor Dell. I hope they go out of business. As all my frieds have said...:you should have bought a mac" If you are considering buying a dell.. please don't. Save your hard earned AMERICAN dollars for a worthwhile company
My Dell Studio is sometimes glitchy, I've had to "fix" certain things like cursor moving on its own, losing stuff I've typed, this that and the other thing that are annoying to the user. This is probably my family's 10th Dell purchase. At least -- Years ago I bought a fantastic Dell XPS desktop that still runs and I loved it - Windows XP -- fantastic, couldn't be happier, but I can't say that about the laptops we've gotten really. Too bad, i don't know what happened to Dell but maybe they're all off smoking da weed with the Dell Dude in India or something. 'Fraid to say -- this is it. I won't ever buy a Dell again, and I've been your best, dream customer, Dell.
I would give them a MINUS 5 the computer does not work has been repaired still does not work the customer service it the worst I have ever had to deal with and the tech support manager made it clear that ALL emails go through him and he will stop any that try to go over him to complain, he called to tell this after I tried to send an email to Michael Dell. I saw a copy of Dell's employee ethic code on line but it is clear no one follows it, I found them to be the most unethical people to work with. Needless to say I will never have another Dell product or recommend them to anyone.
I will join the class action suit, have had the same problems computer freezes up, quits working, would not turn off and over heats so bad it was melting the plastic, they said to send it back and they would fix it, it was returned to us with no parts replaced-basically the same as it was. The staff was very rude and refused to help. I agree they should no longer be in business and no one should buy their products.
I purchased a Dell computer from Best Buy about 2 1/2 hrs. ago and it was not complete. It didnt have the two bottom doors connected and there is a plastic piece on this computer that was loose! I looked at the picture again and knew something was wrong (by the way the doors would flap back down) I called the number on the box and they were of no real assistance, and also told me that they did not have a number for me to contact. NO CORPORATE NUMBER?!? That doesnt make much sense to me..but ok..I will find it myself. I am tech savy and literate when it comes to putting things together, but this is very inconveniencing. My other desktop quit on me today so I had to get another computer pronto. I drove 25 min. to the closest Best Buy with this computer...and now this. Please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you.
Rating is 0 stars not one. Do not buy a DELL inspiron 5110 - I've been dealing with the same issue right out of the box from last September... they tried to fix the problem via pc anywhere, came to my house 2 times with parts, even convinced them to ship me a new one and it has the same exact problem - shuts down as I type an e-mail....sometimes shuts down 20 times in one e-mail. Unbelievable...going to small claims court today - Done and they will pay!
I don't know why they are trying to get any ratings because there computers don't work very long. Got a computer for my daughter in August 2011. Had to send it back to replace the hard drive. Then when the hard drive got replace they fail to put the programs back on. Had to call back ask???? for the programs to be sent, and then had to set on the phone another two hours with someone in india to get them installed. NOW THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE HARD DRIVE IS GONE OUT AGAIN AND QUESS WHAT THEY WANT TO SEND SOMEONE TO FIX IT. Well times are hard and I don't know if any one reads these emails but I hope no one buys a dell. As bad as the USA needs jobs here it looks like someone in the USA would be trying to help there customers and replace these computers. I paid $600 for a computer that does not work. If this is a responsible business then someone would try and make this right.......O and they should be paying all of us for setting on the phone with the warrenty department for hours at a time.......
Same story. Bought my daughter an XPS 15 for Christmas. It has been back to the "depot" for a new mother board and video card. Still wouldn't boot properly from hibernate. They were supposed to have reinstalled the OS. Didn't do it. I have been on the phone for hours with this. Seems to be resolved, but now I can't download Office because they claim that I have lost the Key card. I have all the oringal packaging and materials -- there was no key card. Checked my invoice -- yes, I paid for the software. No -- Dell can't do anything. Microsoft can't do anything. The total cost for canceling whatever key card number that they think that I should have and replacing it with a new one would be virtually zero. Instead, I have to repurchase the software. Dell's service people and their supervisors told me that it is my problem, not theirs. It wouldn't be my problem if the computer hadn't failed. Dell's service truly is horrible.
I have bought 6 dells over the past 10 years and have been pretty happy until now. Purchased a Dell Inspiron N5110 in Dec, wasn't unboxed until close to Christmas and within two weeks the problems started. I didn't have any problems reaching technical support but after about 15 hours of my own time doing this and that and using factory recovery I still had a pc that would't run. So Dell replaced the hard drive. At this time I asked to speak with a supervisor but there wasn't one available. I requested them to take this pc back as I didn't want to pay almost $600 dollars for a pc that is right out of the box a problem. Was told there would be a restocking fee, whcih I wasn't happy about but I would have paid but they never revisited my request. So here I am now about a month 1/2 later and now the pc won't boot up at all. Started with issues coming out of sleep mode which I turned off thinking that would take care of the problem. But no, now the pc won't boot up at all so tech support is replacing the mother board. So instead of having a new pc I am now paying for a "refurbished" pc !!! I spoke with a "floor manager" who basically said thats all they could do was to replace parts until they get it right. This will be my last dell if that is how they want to treat their customers. He said they couldn't take it back because it would then have to be sold as a refurb, well isn't that what I'm really ending up with? I am so mad right now I could just scream. I am also telling everyone not to buy a dell computer.
I would give ZERO stars if possible. Cannot get any customer service - Dell sucks! Can't get anyone except in India or other places outside US who can do aquat!!! NO ONE CAN EVEN GIVE ME MICHAEL DELL'S TELEPHONE NUMBER BECAUSE THE EMPLOYEES THEMSELVES HAVE NO CLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder Dell is mistrusted by Americans and I do hope US citizens never buy Dell again due to lack of anything. What a joke about corporate intergity...... Keep US CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE US! Idare you to contact me Michael Dell as you think you are so above it: lindabdeal@yahoo.com
I'm experiencing the same problems everyone is having. I bought my Dell Inspiron 560 in January, had one of the techs from India help me set it up, bought System Mechanic Professional for 3 yrs cuz he told me it would help me with security and keep my system running smoothly, and it's still not working!!? I always he E Machines, but bought a Dell because of a recommendation by my computer guy at work .... never again!!
NEVER BUY ANOTHER DELL PRODUCT , i bougth my inspiron 12/28/2011 , and today is 02/26/2012 , and my computer is going impossible to use , with 30 minutes in use its starts to heat , and stop to working the programs , and close all my works , nothing work , aaand i've tried to talk with the dell , but nothing , i dont know what to do , all i know is , i'll never let someone i know buy a dell product
I bought a new xps8300 on 1/30/2012 - after an hour of running it began to smoke. Called support, the next day a teck was at the house, she tested the machine and found the mother board cooked and so di the ram. Tech stated they would replace the parts with refurbished, I said no I'll take a refund - shipped the system back on 2/14 - it arrived at dell on 2/16 and still no refund. But hogie claims it'll be any day. I was a Dell customer for around 13 years and never had a prblem until this year, the support crew sucks, they lie, give you the run around and mislead the public. I ordered a Apple Imac - it runs perfect and the people at apple so far seem to be okay. I called and said the remote was missing from my order, they shipped one out right away and didn't transfer me 10 times. That's the way customer support should be.
OMG!! I honestly thought I was puchasing a new Dell computer. I bought the computer for my daughter for Christmas 2011, its February 2012 and the hard drive and mother board have been replaced on a new computer!!! I am very upset, I will never buy another Dell computer EVER AGAIN, and I will tell EVERYBODY I know not to buy one either, and since I am a law student, I think I will file a lawsuit against Dell for Product Liabilty. Take that!!

I bought a computer from Dell in Aug and was not able to set it up until April 9, 2012. I found out I did not have OUTLOOK OR WORD on my computer. I have been dealing with people in India. Everyone I have talked to (India) told me because it was not on my computer that I had to purchase it which I did. I have not been able to talk to anyone in the USA corp headquarters because they keep telling me they cannot transfer me to the USA.
