Never again!! My "brand new" computer has been nothing but a problem. So far the technician has been out here twice and I have been on the phone with the "customer service" agents for days on end. In the meantime, they have done nothing to rectify the problem. Dell execs...do you not get it? You morons will all be out of a job unless you fix the product and stop sending out shoddy computers. Eventually all of you will be forced to move on and in this economy you had better believe that you won't be finding work after working for this turd of a company!
Wish I had checked this site before I purchased my Dell from QVC. Had problems since day 1, but was under the impression, thanks to the dell representative on QVC, that I had 1 year's support, so I didn't worry about it. When I finally contacted Dell, they told me the problem was software, which isn't covered under the support, but they would gladly help me if I would pay another 200.00. I will make formal conplaints to qvc, dell and whoever else I think of. They totally misrepresent the support you get. I bought this because of the 24 hr support and now to find out it was all a big lie, just to get you to purchase. I have a long commute to work each day, so the only time I ever get on my PC is the weekend, so I thought the 24 hr support would be perfect for me. I am not stupid; I thought about this and it seemed like the pefect solution for my schedule. I really hate the idea that they misrepresent this and take advantage of people. I would hate to think someone that was in a hard way paid for a pc and ended up in this situation. Something has to be done about this.I may be out 800.00 but I will try to do something, so that I can feel better about things.
I would give Dell a "0" as a rating if it was available on the drop down menu. This is the worse compnay I have ever dealt with. Anyone that buys a Dell should have their head examined. You may as well throw your money out the window. You no longer can talk with anyone from the U.S. for tech support. They are all in India. Don't bother to call them because you will not get your issues resolved. If you do call them be prepared to spend literally hours on the phone. They are the rudest company. On Dell's sight read the garbage they "claim" they have. Like Integrity???? My complaints can be mirrored by all the ones above me in these postings. Give the jobs back to Americans! Do not buy from Dell.
I have been buying Dell Computers since the 1990's. They always worked wonderfully, and the only reason I would replace one is that the software available had become too sophisticated. The last computer I replaced was a Dell Dimension 3000 which I bought in 2005. I loved it, but the work I'd begun doing was too much for the computer's capabilities. In July 2012, I couldn't spend more than $900, so I let a salesman, Mr. Mahapatra convince me to buy a business computer. He said it would have more than enough power for the work I needed to do, and fit my price range. I agreed, and when it was delivered, I thought it was strange that there wasn't a single piece of paper in the box. The only identifying information was on the packing slip taped to the outside of the box. As I was hooking it up, I noticed on a front panel signs of age. The panel was black, but on the edges, the white underneath it was beginning to show. Plus, there was some software on it that someone forgot to delete, like Microsoft Publisher. This only comes in the most expensive Microsoft package. I called them on this which they of course denied it being used, but after I told them about the Publisher, they quieted down. At first, they were just going to give me my money back, but I still needed a new computer. I agreed to a new Optiplex 790. Delivery date was supposed to be before or after 8/23/12. Today on 8/24, I called Mr. Mahapatra's extention and had to leave a message. But anyone else I spoke to had no record of a new Optiplex 790 being sent to me. I'm going to find out what agency to contact; because this is a case of fraud now.
I am disabled but i needed a computer for school and it was also supposed to come with the XBOX360. I have had to have multiple repairs to my computer within 3 months and I have yet to receive my game system that was supposed to arrive with my order. I wouldnt recommend Dell services to anyone anymore they have poor customer service and are not helpful at all. Whats even more disturbing is we as Americans are limited to jobs everyone that answers the phone does not speak english and you cant understand anything they are saying. This company gets so much money from our purchases but they give us the worst customer service along with horrible products. We are contributing to getting their stocks up when we need to contribute to lowering their stocks because not only are they not kind or helpful but their products dnt stand up to good quality.
I just called this number and Dell no longer uses this number as their corporate number. I called it, and it was the Business Care dept. Looks like they got wise and are trying to be sneaky.
I really wanted to give zero stars ...Dell Computer Corporate Headquarters, Round Rock, Texas. I have ten dell computers at present in my home and daughter's home, plus I have more computers in my office. When my grandson started to college August 2011, I purchased him a new dell laptop because of past experience. Well as luck would have it...it is a LEMON. September, 2011..motherboard went out, then the hard drive, then wiring problem, wireless card went out, technician broke the case which had to be replaced, switch went out, and during all of this the computer would just suddenly just shut down and you could not turn it back on. Of course, being in college, he had classes with dedicated CD that had code that could only be used once, so he could not use another computer to complete assignments without permission from textbook or college professor. Last term he got a reduction from an A to a C because he could not access an assignment which he needed the CD for. We have spent hours on the phone, multiple days trying to get this problem resolved, tech support say they will send out a technician..well there goes another day, plus more money to keep the warrenty so breakdowns will be covered, this machine has cost me more than any other computer, even the gaming computer. Plus you can not speak to anyone in the United States, background noise and difficulty understanding the tech support is another topic all together. Plus I finally got a call back...told it was corporate office then he changed his tune when I told him I could tell from the background noise that it was a call center, he then told me he was calling for the corporate office that customers were not allowed to have their number. So much for buying AMERICAN.
I purchased a dell in July 2011. I was in the middle of an udate and the screen froze. I did a hard reboot and the monitor did not come back on. Thinking it was the monitor since I've had it since 1998, I purchased a new one and got "no signal" when it was connected. I did chat support and that got me nowhere. I eventually found a number on line called it and was transfered. The tech originally told me that it was out of warranty and I would have to pay. After much debate Dell decided to eat the cost. It turns out that the video card is attached to the motherboard. I am waiting for the tech from Dell to pick it up at Fedex. For a video card to go on a computer that was manufactured a little over a year ago does not say much for the quality control at Dell. Apparently they use defective parts in order to get people to buy more to keep their system running. I have always owned Sony Vaio's and they are great systems. I would never buy a Dell again. Mike Dell the CEO does not care about his customers. I have sent him two emails and still have not heard back from the company. Bottom line------DO NO BUY DELL
I am very upset with Dell Customer Service, it is the worst, people do not buy dell products because i had bought their laptop they had assured me that if any damage would be their everything will be covered if it was within the warranty period and they would look into the matter immediately but no, nothing like that happened at all. I called the customer service sent them the pictures of my laptop to show them the damage after that i did not hear from them at all, one email was sent to me and i replied to it, later again nothing so i went to the Dell Service center in J.C. Road and when i got there and showed them my laptop which was within my warranty period, they simply said that the parts are not there and since my warranty period is about to expire in the next 12 days, i need to extend it, how easily they said it. I do not understand, so Is it my fault if the parts are not there or what??? Is it not their headache..?? If they simply cannot deliver what they have promised why lie, tell the customer beforehand and do not make false promises. I will suggest all the people to not go for Dell Products because once its damaged and that too within warranty period DELL does not care.
Has anyone ever tried suing Dell and if so how did it turn out? I am going to look for an attorney who will take the case.
I made a big mistake in ordering a new Dell Desktop in July 2012. I went to Dell based on my experience 10 years ago when I purchased an Inspiron. I should have researched more because I have found out that they have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE & NO TECH SUPPORT. Every time you call you will have extremely long waits and they tell you they can't help you or you will have to pay extra and this is all within days of receiveing my computer that I was told I would have "Premium Phone Support" for 1 year to help me with anything I needed to do.Stay away from Dell. I will NEVER BUY DELL again.
I purchased a Dell computer in July. Waited for delivery and when it came, the mother board was missing. A tech I hired called Dell and was on the phone for over 2 hours trying to resolve the matter. After much apology Dell sent another replacement. Well I had to wait for that one and when It came the CPU fan wasn't working. The tech spend nearly 3 hours on the phone with some one in India that couldn't hardly speak ENGLISH. He asked for an AMERICAN and was told there was none there. I have 2 computers in my house and am waiting for a refund and Dell is waiting for the computers. I will NEVER purchase a dell computer again. This matter is not settled yet. If I have to I will get a lawyer to settle it.
I HAVE HAD A DELL COMPUTER FOR 9 YEARS AND I HAD IT REPAIR ONCE WITH YOU UNTIL TODAY, I WILL NEVER BUY ANY DELL COMPUTERS AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE WAY I WAS SERVICE TODAY. I WAS WITH YOUR TECT SUPPORT PERSONEL WHO HAD NO KNOWLAGE OF WHAT HE WAS DOING. MY COMPUTER WAS NEVER FIX AND HE LEFT WITHOUT FINISHING THE WORK. I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH HIS SUPERVISOR WHO HAD NO KNOWLANGE ALSO BUT TOLD ME THE PERSON THAT WAS HELPING ME FOR 5 HOURS LEFT. SO I TOLD HIM TO CXL MY BILL FOR 205 AND MY SERVICE WHICH THEY CHARGE ME FOR AND DID NOTHING. SO I CALL CARD AND INFORM THEM TO CXL THE BILL. ME AND MY WIFE CALL ABOUT 6 PERSONNEL FROM SUPPORT AND BILLING AND THEY GAVE US THE AROUNING AND LEFT US HANGING ON THE PHONE FOR 25 MIMUTES UNTIL WE HANG UP. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY THAT OUTSOUREDS THEY TECT AND WHEN YOU WANT TO SPEAKE TO SOMEONE YOU COULD UNDERSTAND THEY DISCONNECT YOU> GOODBYE DELL..
I really wanted to put a minus 10 stars. NEVER buy again..so far I have been on the phone with them for 3 1/2 hours and I am on hold again.not getting anywhere, the phone on this site is to their customer service if you have a complaint about your computer not working that is all. now the man onthe phone told me the supervisor is in a meeting..sure and they will call me back..just like the supervisor was suppost to do at 9am this morning and it is now 12:30 PM...still waiting for that phone call. boy do they lie something awful that is ok though as I just wrote to the company headquaters asking them to call me and boy are they going to get an ear full from me. will take off a charge they made a mistake on my credit card but will NOT take off the interest for it.don't think they can do that..will see..
My dell inspirion have 2 day, but i have problems with interest. Pls you assist me 2 fix it
Please see J. Jorgensen report about envelope packaging. I ordered a hard drive from Dell Canada. They shipped it in a flimsy padded envelope! I have a service manual for my laptop where the hard drive was to be installed in. The service manual (from Dell) states that shipping of hard drives must be in a foam padded box. I have contacted Dell for an explanation, no answer yet except for a confirmation of my email.
7/30/2012 After 20 years of being a loyal Dell customer, I have been given the worst customer service . Placed an order for new laptop. Dell cancelled that order. I have tried to reach the"verification dept" , but it does NOT EXIST! Spent 8 solid hours on the phone with people from India who kindly transfered me from "customer service" to "customer specialist" to "customer resolution specialist" in total I have been transfered 27 times! YEY!!!!! I was bored all day, had nothing to do, I am SOOOO Glad I had Dell to keep me company for the whole day. ReaLLy, They all apologized for the inconvience blah blah blah, Their concern really touched my heart. In the end I did not resolve my issue, but who cares at least 27 people that I spoke with had something to do that day( i.e. had a job) But wait thats not all Even though DEll could NOT verify the information to "charge my credit card" for the ;laptop order I placed, They were able to charge same card for software. I called to request a refund. I was transfered form a customer specialist #1 to one higher up -ALL THE WAY to #7. Who transfered me to #8 where I was put on hold for 40 min. Again I am so greatful to Dell for occupying my time , otherwise I might have been able to do some actual work and make some mony. MY CONCLUSION: Every order we place with Dell pays the wages/salary of the people who are in India, who are not helpful and I start to belive the fact That I got this run-around is on purpouse,to just get me quit. SO I QUIT! I am no longer DEll customer. Neither will be my kids. I will vent everywhere I can on the Internet. I will spread the BAD word about DEll,I will do anything I can to contribute in my small way to making DELL stocks go abyssmal. GO APPLE!!!!. Dell YOU ARE A HISTORY!!! in another 20 years you will be nothing but a figment of imagination!
Pls never buy dell computer of laptop because the dell say that they offer international warrenty that's lie. Nonsense . Felling sorry that i have purchased a dell laptop.
I purchased a Dell V725w Printer/Scanner/FAX. This was done June 2012. In July this item had to be replaced because of the printing qualities and we could not, even with tech support, get the scanner to work from the printer. The new printer arrived this week. Good print copy, but still no scanner. In the process of the tech working on the scanner, the printer quit totally!!!!! Now they are sending another one. Don't really want another printer from DELL. I just want my money back. We cannot talk to anyone in the USA.
All of you are correct. Dell hides behind not having policies. We cant figure our pay because their accounting ptactices are so hard to understand and follow. Two plus two equals four but not at Dell. We are pushed to sell 100 percent. If we dont we get a PIP then fired. Dell is buying up small companies with cash like SonicWall and pushed to only sell that product. They sre crafty. The gov fined execs millions for fraud. Now Dell messes with how we make our quotas.and pay because the gov cant see inside. They use smart India accountants and they out smart our gov. I guess now I will get fired for this. O.
