My husband is deployed for a year overseas. He had a hotel charge on his gtc we were unaware of while he is gone. His debit card is currently expired and since he was getting in trouble w work for the charge he decided to pay now and deal with the hotel later. He called to pay with my card and they would not let him. They told him I could call back with his card number and SSN and make the payment. I called back and after 20 minutes of transfers an holding someone finally got me to the right people. The guy I talked to was unbelievably rude! He asked the name on the card and I explained I was calling to make a payment bc my husband was overseas and not able to use his debit card to make the payment. I didn't have the exact amount an the guy told me I needed to have the amount. I knew a round about number so I asked if I over paid what happened to the excess balance and all he would tell me is that he could not tell me that information and so I asked again as a general policy what happens when someone over pays a card and pays over what the balance is and any time I tried to say anything all he would say was "I can't discuss that with you" and talk over me no matter what I tried to say. Finally I told him I didn't appreciate him being rude and he said have a nice day and hung up on me...the military needs to find a better more military friendly bank. Someone who understands that you can't just pick up the phone and call your deployed spouse. I was just trying to make a payment since he's busy defending our country...guess Citibank doesn't understand the importance of that.
unfair practices
because I am a housewife they do not consider my husbands income only mine. Only working a part time job they would not allow me to open a card even though my household income is quite good and my credit rating is over the 700 mark. However they keep sending me applications to open cards.....I am so furious !!!!
murderers
We've all seen what life wreckers these big banks have been during the housing crisis but Citibank's choice to use force in an eviction of a senior trying to protect his animals in Galt, CA. on 11/28/12 has resulted in death and tragedy. The bank officer brought an animal control and the animal control officer was shot and killed. Next they had police using high frequency noise all night and exploded gas canisters into the home where several animals were with the man. Animals were also still in the animal control vehicle the whole 17 hours, all subjected to this horror. They could have just waited until the 65 year old man eventually came out and none of this would have happened. Not only are people victims of these bank predators, the pounds are overflowing with evicted homeowner's animal companions and millions are being euthanized. Citibank, along with many others are murderers! See this tragic story in the Sacramento Bee...
I believe we should start a class acion law suit against Citi Bank
I am a poor disable woman who is surviving on supplemental social security to cover my medical expenses. Citibank Concord treat blvd ca branch took $130.00 from my social security for the rent of a safe deposit box which I closed five years ago. Imagine since last five years I didn't received any invoice, phone call or reminder from them all of the sudden they took $ 130.00? When my husband called Citibank Concord branch the supervisor by the name of Angela accused us that we didn't returned the key which we did and they can take any amount whatever they want from our account. Is there any justice in this world? Citibank victims are poor people it is a bank of wealthy people
Im very disappointed in Citibank. I have been giving the run arounds for the past month. Somebody did fraud on the account and its in the process of being closed. I have been trying to access the money that was in the account. I went into a Citibank branch and was told that it was nothing that they can do because the account is in process of being closed, i have to wait for Citibank to send me a check in the mail. Another issue, a check was supposed to be deposited into the account but because the account has a block on it, the check couldn't be deposited. Instead of sending the check back, Citibank decides to credit it to the account. I have bills to pay. How am I able to get the money out of the account if I have no access to the account. This was a mistake done by Citibank. I refuse to wait for a check in the mail. I will not recommend anybody bank with Citibank. I have learned my lesson.
I think it is bad customer service to re-issue cards on an active account without notification to the account holder. My account has been rendered useless for "7 to 10 Business Days" awaiting the new cards. I use this account for day to day business exspences and purchases. I now find myself in the position of not being able to make any online purchases ( a large portion of our business supplies ) until these new cards arrive. The card I have was still valid for over a year?? If there was a security concern I should have been notified. My wife was on a trip, what would have happened if she needed to use her card for an emergency? If I was chossen to receive new cards because of high usage on the account by the bank (as I was told),shouldn't I at least be notified or leave the current cards active until the new ones are received? This situation has caused alot of issues for us and our business. I find it distressing that I hold a card that I cannot count on, I need an account that is there when I need it. This could have been alot worse, although the situation is already going to cost me alot of money and lost time.
We complained to Citi Card that we were being ripped off by Pioneer Auction Gallery.Pioneer Auction Gallery uses false appraisals to sell jewelry on line. Citi sided with Pioneer stating they had a terms and conditions statement. Why this allows them to flat out lie about the products they are selling; you will have to ask Citi's Michele Dreesman in Presidential Communications for Citi. On top of all of this after dozens of calls and emails we can not get the items bought sent to us from Pioneer. I am sure this is ok with Ms. Dreesman because they have a terms and agreement statement
674556 This letter is in response to a letter received on September 8, 2012 but dated August 29,2012 from a VP. This is in regards to accounts ending in **** and and ****. Holds have been placed on the two accounts. I am a pensioner with social security these are guaranteed EFTs. Last month I had surprise expenses and was receiving a wire transfer from an associate. Somehow on August 24,2012 the wire transfer was blocked by the Freeport branch. As well my September 1st pension deposit which goes in every month on the first. My cosigner who currently is on medical bed rest called the bank and the other two parties to get to the bottom of the situation. The Branch representative stated that EFTs aren't guaranteed funds and but they would take a cash deposit from anybody who was acting as our agent since my cosigner could not leave her bed. So another person went to another branch (Relative lives out of state) Her attempt to make deposit was not allowed and it was cash. Cosigner and I then called Citibank(3 way call) and were told no deposit could be made on the account until is was brought up to date. That was an interesting phrase. I then called my place of my former employment which I had retired from which send me my monthly pension via EFT. After 3 days of investigation the money wired to my Citibank accounts which has been placed on hold is in limbo some how. Monthly I get wired closed to 2000 dollars from my pension, as well as my associate who resides in Canada whose wire transfer was blocked which would more than cover the accidentally overdrawn funds. I am now stuck in a country which no longer has a Citibank branch and have been trying to return home since September 2 since my cosigner has fallen ill. This situation goes beyond hardship. I am trying to make good with Citibank in regards to this oversight; but where are my funds since the parties that handle my pension and my associate's bank accounts who sent EFTs show a paper and electronic trails that stop at my local bank branch? I am holding on to all correspondence in anticipation of the resolution of this misunderstanding
Citimortgage has the worst customer service in the world, that of China and Russia, Mexico, or any third world country is even better. Any time u call, u will talk to some fool who knows nothing about one's questions. They employe all those custeer service associates and did not train them. They all full of sheet . They treathen you with the notion that they are recording your conversation . Let them not intimitade you , cause their ass out....they are there for themselves .
U are better off trying mortgage companies from Mexico or China. Please don't not go to Citimortgage for your mortgage needs.
The problem with geinttg a loan with bad credit is that you've already shown you cannot repay the loan. There is a difference between wants and needs and usually those with bad credit have gotten into problems by having too many wants. Think about all of the bad money mistakes you've made. We've all done it that dinner out or that pair of jeans on sale. One transaction at a time has caused us to go over our credit limits and just one setback caused a late payment. Before you know it, you are taking loans to repay loans. The lenders know your personality type based on your credit score. What makes you or them think otherwise about your future if your past shows impulse? I don't blame you for not wanting a cash advance but those are the kinds of companies willing to take risks because they charge such high interest. Your best bet is to increase income and/or reduce expenses. Do you NEED a loan or simply want one to bail out of mistakes you've already made? Think about a part time job, geinttg rid of some services you really don't need, and developing and sticking to a financial plan that will give you the power to be a lender instead of a borrower. Don't compound your bad credit with bad choices.

In response to "A Citi Employee" , I am sure you think you are correct, but in fact you are part of the problem. You seem to "assume" that a person has not paid their bill if they have been called by "Citi" in Kentucky, whom I suspect is not really "Citi" at all, but a contractor. Nonetheless, in some cases the payment has been made according to agreement and the individual to whom one may speak simply refuses to acknowledge the fact and do anything about "late charges" that have been incorrectly charged. The attitude that the customer "is always wrong" will not serve Citibank well in the long run, although they and their stockholders don't really seem to care. And there is the answer to most of the problems. Buy one share of stock and attend the next stockholders' meeting and demand to be heard.

I have been a customer of the sears credit card for over 20 years and this s definitely not my first unhappy situation. I had contacted them online for assistance and they worked on a payment plan. Unbeknown to my knowledge I agreed to a lesser payment not realizing that there will be a late fee. My payment was $3 more than the late fee itself and now they are cashing in on me and won't help!
I . First time I spoke with just want to let you know how frustrated I am in dealing with the Citibank office in 39th Street/Queens Blvd. in LIC, NY. My wife had passed away recently and I went to your above branch for some information regarding withdrawing and closing my wife's IRA accounts. One of the Your Personal Banker spoke with me and after talking to some one in their San Antonio, TX office told me to go to Surrogate Court and get a Testomentary Letter which was unnecessary in my case as I have a Living Will Executed by my wife which gives me the right to withdraw and close the accounts she had with CITIBANK. Anyway I went to the surrogate court and was asked to file some applications at a Great Cost. I came Home and called my UFT sponsored Legal Services. I spoke with a Lawyer who advised me to speak with The Branch Manager where I usually Bank. This was over a week ago. I met with the Branch Manager/Vice President and told her what my Legal Services Lawyer told me. She called the Texas Office who in return told her that they will be mailing me a packet of forms to be completed and returned at once after which everything will be settled. I have been patiently waiting for these mystery forms for nearly 9 days. Two weeks prior to this another "Your Personal Banker" employee spoke with the same people in Texas and said the same thing - Forms are in the Mail. I am just frustrated with this attitude of some of the Employees of your Bank.I would be glad when this is all over. I am planning to close my other accounts with your bank and have asked my sisters and other close friends to do the same as the Citibank has become too good for its own sake. I have been Banking with the Citibank for over 36 years. It is time they took a nap before coming to work.I wrote to the President also but have not received any response from him. It seems like I am "WAITING FOR GODOT."

A written response to this communication will be much appreciated.
Reading all of these negitive letters it makes me wonder why anyone would do business with Citi bank. I am on this site to find out whom to call with my complaint. From what I see it will just be a waste of time just like my time they have wasted.
It is a complete waste of time to try and find someone to complain to. I doubt if Citibank cares anyway. My advise to anyone with a complaint is to do like me , find another bank.
