Bank of America is our mortgage holder. We had gotten behind in two payments and in december 2010 contacted the 800 number for the total amount owed so we could bring it up to date. I was told that it would take time, by January 2011 still no response. Then I was called and told to apply for a modification to lower our interet rate, dumb me I did this and still paid my January payment. Two days later I received my mortgage payment back saying while we were under review for mod they could not accept our payment by February 5, 2011 we were in foreclosure status, you could have hit me with a building I tried to bring our payments up to date in December 2010 they would not accept it because again they did not have the total figure owed. This was a dirty and nasty way of trying to take possesion of our home. March 22, 2011 after numberous phone calls we paid over $5,000.00 to bring everything up to date lawyers fees etc... Our credit rating shows foreclosure we want that taken off it was done in a very underhanded way we still live in our home, there was no foreclosure. I will dispute this with media, lawyers, credit agencies whomever to correct this. I want the Corporate headquarters number now
I paid my loan off on my home to B of A in 2004, they sent me a paid in full document not the original note marked paid. I have just now found out the release they sent me was not mine at all, and still have a lien filed against my home. If some lawyer can help with this please leave your information for me to contact.
I really dont want to play the games with BOA,IT SEEMS LIKE they want to hold the international wire transfer money forever, then they could win more money! New year is coming, need to have that money for festival, dont understand why they always doing this all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My sister has a loan that my Mother cosigned for and my Mother passes away in June. The house was left to all six kids. Because of this my sister is not going to finish paying the loan to the bank so we will loose the house. Is there anything we can do?
To Whom It May Concern: Yet another reason to not get another account at BoA. On Friday of last week, I received my refund of my overpayment of my escrow account. I purchased this home in June of 2011 and told BoA that my taxes would be less than $100, as I am a disabled veteran in the State of Texas, and they provide a large discount for property taxes. BoA stated that they wouldn't be able to do anything about it until my tax bill came due, and they had proof of it. No problem, I'm used to corporations feeling that they are superior to everyone, and that no one they deal with has a shred of decency or honesty...particularly bankers, as they tend to spend time around other bankers and see such traits. BoA further stated that they wouldn't send my tax payment to the county until they received the bill. In October, I received my tax statement (showing I owed $61.00 in taxes...that is not a misprint, it is sixty-one) and dutifully sent it to BoA (expecting them to receive it three days after I sent it...after all, BoA states the same thing about anything THEY send). Apparently, in my ignorance, I didn't send it certified mail. In December, my wife sent an email asking if BoA had received the tax statement, and paid the taxes. BoA claimed they did not receive the statements, but without ANY documentation of any kind, decided to send the full amount in my escrow ($3800+) to the county. They further stated that if I wanted the overage to be returned, I would have to deal with the county. So, I called the county. They stated that if they received an overage, they would cash the check, apply whatever is required to my tax bill, and then send a letter to BoA asking them what to do with the overage. BoA would then fill out a form, send it back to Franklin County, and request the overage be sent to them. Franklin County would then send the money back to BoA (presumably, BoA would not receive it, but just in case they did), BoA would then eventually issue me a check. That scenario was entirely unacceptable, so I called BoA, and spoke to a gentleman named James, who took ownership of the problem. He corrected my tax bill, he corrected my escrow to reflect the correct amount of my taxes, and managed to get the refund check to me on Friday, Dec 23. So now, I took the check to the local BoA branch. After having to prove my identify through four pieces of ID, my wife and I got the check cashed. Only to be told, that because we don't have a checking account with BoA, we would be charged six dollars. Now six dollars isn't going to break me, but let me point something out to you. BoA has my mortgage of $195,000 (not by my choice, but BoA bought it from someone else, and presumably felt they could make a profit off of it). The interest rate on the mortgage is five percent. Over the life of the mortgage, BoA will PROFIT nearly $100,000. Further, we have a credit card with BoA. Its interest rate about 9%. We use that regularly, and rarely pay off the monthly balance. On top of all that, you kept my additional tax payment (of $3800) in escrow for six months...not paying interest to me on it. So here's what's bugging me. You can take the six dollar service fee, and stuff it so far up your ass, that it comes out your throat. You can further be assured, that in the interest of full disclosure, I will contact every person I know, pass by, or can contact through email, telephone, telegraph, carrier pigeon, smoke signal, or hieroglyphics, and let them know my opinion of Bank of America.
Bank of America way of doing things is the worst i have ever seen. Never called and got a stright answer for the last year. My wife has a loan which she had no choice to have. Her husban passed away in 2008 and left withe a 975.00 a month payment. Thouht she had it sold until boa sent out an apraiser who could not speak elnglish, shot it down to very poor apraisel. She went several times and called for the last year to try to get her payment down, but not anyone showed interested to try to help, she wonted to do the right thing by keeping it or selling it and paying them off as the right thing to do. She still has it , rented out, with interest to buy it, if they don't allow the renters to buy it, guess she won't have any choice other than to let they have it.
I too have been forced to use Bank of America. My mortgage was transferred three time since the fall in the economy. I applied for a loan modification and the rate that was told to me if approved was 710.00. Well I set up automatic payments through my bank and have paid every month. Since then I was told because my 1st payment was short (843.00 and not 710.00) I was short 133.00 I was a month behind. I wrote a letter to the CEO and his assistant wrote back and tried to explain how my payments were applied. She even included their print out which I don't understand. I tried sending more each month but they seem to have it placed in partial and sometimes returning some money to me. I received a notice last week and now I'm TWO months behind yet I make my mortgage payment every month. Every time I call customer services they have no interest in helping even though they advertise they are willing to help or even give us option. This is my 1st home and my experience with Bank of American has been awful.
I contacted Debbie Cavers on October 24 with little to no help, trying to get a fixed rate. The last time I call her to get my mortgage payment paid. Because someone lock up my account and I could not pay online. I had to call in October (Teresa 7:55pm 10/17/2011) to have my payment pulled from my account, which they did with no late charge. But last month (account still lock) I received a late charge and I would like it waived. I cannot even get through to someone always a message or never the same person twice. Doesn’t anyone work directly with people when customers wants them too or is it only when BOA employees want to talk to people? That to me is poor customer service. I received a letter on 10/28/2011 from Katherine Szramel and call Debbie Cavier again with no response. I left her a message letting her know that I work the same time she works but with Fridays off, No Friday phone call yet and today is December 13, 2011 All I want is to make my loan a fixed rate loan. Tell me what papers you need form me and I will forward them to BOA. If nobody wants to talk send me a letter with what you want from me for a…Fixed rate loan like the promise after I got everything fixed. BOA has lied to me so many times, it because you can never speak to the same person twice. BOA is too big to help the middle class person, just keep sucking me dry. BOA still can not even keep to there word.
I have been with Bof A for over 25 years in 4 states and my branch manager is absolutely horrible. Inconsiderate, disrespectful and could care less if your a client or not.I have complained to the DM and she recommended I go to another branch.I have never seen such them care so less of their clients as I have inh this past year.We have 4 accounts with them and am moving them to Wells Fargo.Good bye
Im not sure who reads this. Im one of your customers. I dont like what I read about the company coming without constraint when it comes to coming for peoples homes. Math is math, I know what Barney Frank did to your company and what place he placed you in your way. So far, you have been great, The bank is a little busy at times... But I personally love the scanning of checks at the ATM. Please let the team that made that happen know I will never leave because of that. You guys offer a great banking mechanism, without apologie. Keep up the good work. Im part of the 99%. Bobby, SC
Over a month ago I was pre-approved for a mortgage with Bank of America. Shortly after my wife and I found a house in the Villages, FL and started the mortgage process. The way it works with the Villages is the houses are typically finished so when one becomes available that you want there's a 30-day closing schedule. At first everything seemed to go on schedule, I had already scanned most of the needed documents. My turn around time was hours not days. I emailed most of the documents the day before Thanksgiving and didn't hear from them for over a week, I emailed them and asked if anything else was needed, they had a list of 6 items, which I supplied very quickly. I kept after them to get going on getting final approval because the closing was scheduled for December 8th. They told me I had all the approvals and were waiting for one item to get cleared. There is a restriction on the community because it is for people over 55. I pushed to get this cleared and they told me it would take 5 days so I knew I was in with penalties with the seller because I missed the deadline. I got a call on the day the closing was due that my "pre-approved" loan was being denied because is was to be our second home, not occupied as a primary home and it had the over 55 restriction. It was very clear in the beginning what the mortgage was for. My credit score is 825 have plenty of assets, much more than this $200,000 mortgage and my wife and I have about $180,000 in income through pensions and investments. I'd say it was a very safe bet. I wish I never went through the process with Bank of America and I will spread the word every chance I get to get this story out.
I am so sorry for all of your problems. I am a current BOA employee in the Credit Card division. I can tell you that the employees are also treated like shit. They have taken everything away from us, they lie, put policies into place that are impossible to follow so that they can take away our incentives. They never give us a straight answer on anything and when we question anything we get the run around. No one in upper management can clarify anything when asked. The stress is unbelieveable, many employees are out on stess leave and people who are there are depressed, stressed and the morale is terrible. We try and help the customers and while they say that " guest standards" are the most important thing, they make it impossible for us to help the customer. People need to know that BOA is full of shit with everything they say and do. They are a bunch of crooks who are lining their own pockets.
Let me start by saying that I never ever wanted Bank of America. They were forced upon me beyond my control. They came in and took over two of my credit cards.... that changed names. Then they took over my Countrywide account and my Heloc account. Isn't it amazing how Bank of America can come in and destroy your life. For example. I had two wonderful non Bank of America credit cards that were always paid on time. They took over my accounts and jacked the interest rate up to 19% because they said the ecomy was bad and people wern't paying their credit cards. So I paid these cards off. Now, I am refinancing my home to get a lower interest rate on my house from 5% to 4 and 1/4% but OMGosh... what a mess. You will spend a lifetime on phone line with robotic answering machines. They will disconnect you, transfer you to wrong departments. When you actually reach a person, they will transfer you, loose your call, or disconnect you. There phones are a big joke. Expect all kinds of transfer, disconnects, on holds, false promises, false dates, no return calls, people not there after you return your call. Expect a million questions about your accounts and expect them still to end up in the wrong department to handle your requests. On Nov 4h I sent in a request for a subordination of my Heloc to be approved by Bank of America on my HELOC account. This is so I can proceed with my home loan. Even the people handling my refinance have never heard of anything like this taking so long. They say they received the request on Nov 11, 2011. They have put in escalation after escalation...which is in plain terms just an e-mail to the managers in the Subordination Department. They say, they work as a team, however... the front line people seem to protect the people you are suppossed to talk to. Take for instance Sherrell who said, "She would get right back to me." The next day she went on vacation. And Cody who was sincere in helping me, went and spoke to Francine Pertz and they seemed like they were getting it ready for noon. But noon came and went. Then they said they will call back before 6 p.m. That came and went. My mortgage people and myself have made numerous daily calls to these people with no final answer on the subordination, and today is December 8th, 2011. Keep in mind that these front line girls are very courtous and are really a line of defense that prevents you from talking to a subordination manager. But if you do manage to reach a subordination manager they just seem to be in limbo and are at a complete loss for an explanation on your subordination file (and are quick to transfer you) In conclusion, I am still waiting, but there must be some kind of law that they must respond to your requests within so many days. Instead, they have jeopardized my financial dealings without one care in the world. NOTE: Now I'm getting advertising from Bank of America in the mail requesting that I refinance my house with them to get a lower rate. OMGosh...they're kidding me???
Hi My name is Lia Brissey, I am presently in foreclosure with BOA...Jan 3rd selling my home on the court house steps. I have been on this property for 21 yrs. They don't care. I have never been in this situation so not sure of our rights but I do know the modifications are Bull ...They do nothing for the people but never ending paperwork and you are declined for everything I have a 2383.00 house payment 8.99% interest every month we had a hardship got behind and it has been a horrible circle ever since. BOA needs to be sued closed down. We the people need to fight them some how. I have been through so much that I know if we had alot of money to fight them we would win even being behind....I asked them to show me the paper work that gives them the right to foreclose and they have not produced it yet. I even asked them for help before getting behind...I can sit here and tell you story after story of what they have put us through...They have even givin me a modification and then let me make 836.81 payments for 8 months then refused payment and said it was not approved. The sad thing is we are working and can pay a house payment just not 2383.00 we have proven this time and time again...This Bank and people who stand behind this bank are heartless and I pray for them every night because one day they will have to pay a price for what they are doing to people...I even went 2.5 hours to an outreach program they offered and was told my modification would be done in 15 days and I would have a 1200.00 payment a month well that never happened also this bank has changed my principle amount from 247,500. to 259, how can they legally do this they also have I don't know how many signing documents you don't know what to do...The people they call customer service well that is a joke it is a mess We need a go getter attorney to fight this bank and make them suffer...Like the man on the news...I loved him winning and foreclosing the bank it was great...My contact #912-586-2407 or 912-294-4006 if you are interested in pulling together and going public and fighting this bank....Sincerely Lia Brissey
I have a sent a letter to the CEO. Bank of America took over $8000 in charges for one year. I had a business Onetees Staffing and Nursing Services. This ruined my business and I had to close my business. I just do not understand how a bank can ruin a business. This shows that the bank was concerned only about the money and not the client. I am one person that the bank ruined their lives. I am asking that they look into this for me. This was a small business. I got into more and more debts because of this. The economy was bad and to survive I got into more and more trouble this is all because of the Bank of America. My address 8903 Maple Ave, Bowie, MD 20720. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I look forward to hearing from you. Ethleen Thomas
With my experience this bank doesn't deserve my 1 star rating. I would opt for a negative. Me and my fiance has seperate credit card accounts with BOA and I was calling to make a pay by phone on our accounts but when I went to pay for his account it was told to hold for an account manager (odd because this has never happened before), but wasn't concerned because I am an "AUTHORIZE USER" on the account. So a rep comes on and asks for my name and information. I did advise the rep I was authorize but apparently on his end I was not. Explaining to him all I wanted to do was make a payment he told me he couldn't assist me. I asked to speak to a supervisor and at this time I realize I wasn't directed to a account manager I was directed to the "FRAUD" department. I told the supervisor the same thing and this "Supervisor" was so disrespectful and right from the start pointed fingers. He accusing me of "stealing" because there was "suspicious" transaction on the account. Transactions that was made on his account but was shipped to our home address but just under my name. So livid at how I was being verbal abused I asked to speak to his manager and he refuse, stating that no one can help me with this account and I replied I need to talk to someone to complain about his actions. But still refused to transfer me. He then went to say that my reactions are making me look more guilty, I mean you are a supervisor, you could of approached the situation a lot more professional and to go straight from calling me a theif, that was discrimination. I literally told him that "how can I be stealing if I'm just calling to make a payment. I'm not taking money, I'm giving you money"...Later on that same day, my fiance was able to call them and "CONFIRM" those transactions as well as make a payment. Apparently, we wanted to be sure so we called again and same department been saying that it takes 24-48hrs to clear but confirms they show the notes on the confirmation and payment. Funny thing is that their "CUSTOMER SERVICE" department can release information to me but when it comes to "FRAUD" department, they are heartless and rude. Not only we had problems with our first conversations but ALL conversations with this department. My fiance, the primary account holder, was mis-treated as well. He called and gave his SSN,home address, birthdate and yet they wanted more information to confirm it was him. They told him they had access to public records and wanted him to name a relative and their birthdate, at this point he authorized me to hop on the phone and then I gave him his brother's information and our son's information and the reps says they're not on the list. Trying all means I called their customer services department and see if I could get help with filing a complaint, apparently I am only able to "MAIL" my complaint. Knowing this is all suspicious and we were fed up with their inadequate services, we gave up trying because they gave us the impression that they will not release the "hold/block" on the card and that only their department can release it. Speaking to our attorney, we are considering filing a credit card slander on this company if nothing is done to correct this "hold/block" and nothing is done to those representitives/supervisors that has discriminated us.
ive been with bank of america for 50 years and now that im a senior have been treated terrible first i signed on to my online checking account and someone elses name was on my account i had to go in to the bank with lots of ids to get it put bavk in my name ive never bounced a check and had a credit card for 40 years when i paid it off in full they canceled it and said i didnt meet there criteria, my son in calif was upside down in house in calif and after trying to negotiate with them for 2 years they forclosed when his wife was ill in bed with cancer and then sold there house for 250,000 less than they paid but wouldnt negotiate with them and there went there 80,000 down payment. in the last two months ive had my account hacked got a new debit card but went to use it as credit again wrong zip code was put on the card. i think they along with there pals in congress and the senate should all be kicked out without there pensions as they have just about ruined my retirement and now im working part time the whole system is a joke and i say put your money under the mattress its cheaper and safer.
All I can say IS that if I was Bank Of America I wouldn't want any of this posted,no one has anything good to say! My husband and I have been getting the run around for the better part of a year! This has even driven me to tears, we tried to get a modification because we are so upside down on our house and due to a severe medical condition I developed we thought that we could ease some of our debt thru modification, WHAT A JOKE!! I want Bank of America to know that they are heartless, wicked people that have nothing good to offer there clients. I did not choose them as my mortgage lender, they bought my loan and I AM STUCK! We have tried everything to correct a very bad situation and now we are trying a lawyer. BAD, BAD, BAD.....
HOME: 6111 Groen Ct., Allendale, MI 49401 LENDER: Bank of America MORTGAGE # 138781360 During my application for Obama’s Home Modification Loan ........... BANK OF AMERICA SOLD MY HOME TO FANNY MAE FOR $103,200 And told to vacate by January 28, 2012 I find this appalling since I offered the Bank of America $140,000 which they refused and then sold it to Fanny Mae for $37,000 less WHY?
I was told that if I paid my credit card balance off each month that I wouldn't get a membership fee. After many years of business that way, they changed their policy. I got hit with a $75 membership fee. No more credit card with them! Twice now I have had issues with my banking statements. Claiming that I hadn't made payments to creditors. I tried very hard to get it straightened out only to have to sit on the phone for eternity,(press this number for that and that number for this, and so on and so on). And then I get some jerk in a far off country that I can't understand. I switched all of my banking over to Chase because when you call them you actually get a real Person to talk to. The stress level in that is immeasureablely less.
