I will never in my life use Kroger again. I used my debit card to get gas they take out a extra $100.00 and hold it for 72 hours. I then call their customer service dept. and ALicia was so rude to me. SHe even screamed at me!.The nerve of these people. If I buy $40.00 of gas then hold $40.00. NO MORE! KROGER SUCKS!

Well, I'm truly sorry for all the previous listed "bad" experiences with your local Kroger Stores. But I have to say I love my local store. I did have a little incident with some coupons, but the manager was exceptionally nice. He did his very best to see that I was a satisfied customer. I shop at the Johnson City Store on St of Franklin in Johnson City.

I would like some one to post the name, address and telephone number of the regional manager offices for the Blacksburg,Virginia stores. In particular, I have heard two sides to a sad story and as the mother of a college-aged kid trying to make something of himself, my son had a job at the South Main Street Krogers. The job seem to be going along well, as my son had lead me to believe. During his seven months working at this store, my son became very dissolutioned by the racist treatment he witnessed. He was terminated twice after being informed that he did not show up for work when he should have been there, only to find out that the scheduled had been sabbotaged by management. This is a 19-year-old male, who has spent 16 years in private school because it is the only way an African male in America can get any elementary, as well as secondary education. The old Jim Crow's from south continue to oppress the African males and I am here to say that if Krogers is not part of the solution then that surely are the issue at hand. To hire workers who prey upon people who are trying to the right thing. No wonder this country is so far behind; civil war issues are still quite present in our society and the rest of the world has moved on. I use to think that Krogers was wonderful; South Main Street is proof positive they are not. Amen

I am completely disallusioned with the Kroger Corporation and have curtailed my shopping there. Last year my 82 year old mother fell over a low stocking cart that was left in the aisle in frozen food in your Danville Ky. store. she hit her shins on the cart and went face first onto the floor. she required stitches in her head near heer eye and still has the bruised marks on her shins where she hit the cart. Her face and neck turned a terrible purple and blue until she healed. My family is not the type to sue over frivilous causes but when they approached Kroger asking only that the medical costs be reimbursed to Medicare and insurance where necessary Kroger's denied the claim. They stated that they had an employee who had witnessed the fall and stated that she had seen the cart and walked around it previously. Do you know how ridiculous this sounds? why would an 82 year old woman purpoesly fall over a cart and injure herself so badly? If such an employee had that much time to observe the whole thing why did he not remove the cart? The next day when my father returned to pick up their groceries there was not a cart to be found in any aisle. I find the whole response by Kroger to be callous, self serving, and an indication of the attitude the company has towards customers.

I used to work at the krogers store in Jacksonville Arkansas..I HATED IT!!! i was a bagger and even though im a female they made me push buggies in 100+ degree heat, and also when there was like 5 inches of snow on the ground...the manager never cared and temporarily suspended a girl because she cracked her wrist trying to push too many buggies. Eventually after a whole year i finally got to be in the deli most days, even though they never formally transferred me OR gave me a raise!! the deli situation was even worse....Cockaroaches, rotten food served, lazy employees, cluttered work area(oh it was bad!!) and an apathetic deli manager made me walk out one day. The things i witnessed at kroger makes me never shop there again!!!

I live very near a Krogers, and except for some young cashiers being more into their personal lives, I am alway pretty happy with the service and selection. Would like a salad bar though :) Jon, I was agreement with your points, until the end. I am sure Penn Clark left out something as well, but no one with a cart full of groceries should be using the u-scan, and if there was that big of a problem, all customers should have been told of the issue, apologized to and helped. As for this comment "If it messes up 95% of the time it is because you did something to the robot to cause it to stop working." - then Kroger has a problem. Software that inconsistent is a defect. Your comment reminded me of a bunch of young IT techs making fun of users.

Heres the story of the worker who was pushed too far. The worker woke up and noticed his alarm did not work. The worker was angry and hurried to work. The worker got stuck in traffic, he was more angry. The worker pulled into the lot and had to park all the way in back and walk through the cold only to see he forgot his jacket, he was furious. The worker punched in late and was yelled at by his manager, he was extremley frustrated. The customer pointed out something the worker maybe already saw which just put him over the top with frustration. Point of the story, watch how you act and dont be so judgmental towards others for what was done. You have no idea where they come from and why they act the way they do. Try to be understanding and kind and it will go a long way to making things better for everyone. @ terri. Kroger may be a big corporation, but its a company they operate to make money it is not a walking charity. If they gave wood to one man why should other people have to pay? Wood is not a nessecity to start anyways. If someone really needed wood that bad they could probably find some bark somewhere outside? Kroger gives to charities who give to people in help. They are not a evil corporation. They, once again, are just a company, business that is operating to generate revenue. If you give out to someone, where do you draw the line? Its easy in your mind to think, well what is one piece of firewood? Well he is not the only poor or homeless person in the world. You will be giving out thousands of dollars of merchandise before you know it. Just because the corporation is profiting largely, does not go to say that every single individual Kroger store is rich off its butt. So one store giving out thousands of dollars could possibly affect its income enough to reduce budgeted hours which reduces jobs, which reduces pay to some employees. That is strecthing it a little but what you suggest is also stretching the facts. So I just wanted to put those thoughts into your head before you go hating on an organization over small stuff like that. Its not their house you should be keeping in order, worry about your own first. If it bothers you that much, try giving out some of your possessions to others more often and worry less about what kroger does for others. @ Jake. It is the company's policy and its private property, so chill out they are allowed to make rules whether they have a sign up or not you should have the respect to ask someone if you could carry that with you or not. If you came in to my house I would not want you holding a pistol either, use some common sense. At the very least if you were going into someone elses house you would at least notify or ask them to allow you to carry your weapon before entering. You are not on public property which is what that permit is for, it does not protect your right on private property. They have not removed any of your freedoms, because you never had the right to wander onto private property before with a weapon. That could be considered an intention to do harm from an outside point of view. And yes whether you want to believe it or not Kroger and other stores are not public property, they pay property tax, it is private property. @ penn clark, not to be rude towards you, but it sounds like you had no patience with anyone at the store and were jumping all over the wrong people. The cashiers are just trying to do there job. They must have been having problems with registers and the computers if four employees were operating a u-scan machine with only six robots. I have a feeling you left out part of the story. I dont believe all of the employees by the self check out, u-scan, were even cashiers. They could have been baggers or from other departments. If four cashiers were standing up front they could have been off the clock just trying to help out? Point being do not jump the gun and be patient, everyone is in such a hurry today and that is what starts alot of issues between people. There are too many people in a rush for nothing and too stubborn to care about anything but time or themselves. The employees at kroger generally are just average people and when you jump at them because they are trying to help you on a robot it is not going to solve anything. When they step in to show you how to do something on the robot obviously you were doing something wrong with the robot. Most people dont understand how to use the machines but are too full of it to accepet any help. Regardless of that situation, you could have been nice and asked what specifically was going on with the robot that had caused it to malfunction. If the machine goes off 0.01 of an ounce the weight is off and the scales alerts the robot to not progress. That is to help reduce theft. You could have tried to scan produce instead of typing in the produce number, or the item you scanned maybe was not in the system. Alot of the time its a small problem. It sounds like they were having computer issues though if all of the main registers were down. Just take a chill pill and relax next time if a u-scan robot does not work for you. It is not the end of the world. If it messes up 95% of the time it is because you did something to the robot to cause it to stop working.

Well I have to say after reading the comments above, that the unsatisfied customers at other Kroger Store locations should visit our small town Kroger in Paris, Tennessee. You couldn't ask for nicer employees and the store manager walks his store personally and speaks to customers, asking how they are doing and if they are finding everything okay. And, Joe is not being fake about it. As I understand it, Joe has worked for Kroger for many years. Must of stayed on because of some good reasons. His employees genuinely like him. The store is clean. Our Kroger has an obvious committment to the community. We always find good deals and we are feeding a very large family monthly. We spend quite a bit of time in this grocery store. You know what?.....I think our local Kroger Store Manager deserves a pat on the back for doing what is obviously one terrific job!!!

Fort Worth Texas Store #512 is not clean The outside the meat case was hamburg that had fallen on the ledge of the outside case. I brought it to the attention to a clerk he took the hamburg with his bare hands and droped it to the floor. The store has fallen way down stocking is not good , I no longer shop at any Kroger store. I am contacting Kroger personally tomorrow morning, about an incident of being kicked out and banned from a Kroger's in Durham, NC. Long story short. Forest Brewster, store manager, humiliated me and called 911 for me asking them to open a 'damn' register. I have spent between $500-800\month in this store since moving to Durham, NC. With at least $500 in groceries in my cart, I went to checkout at 8:30AM. There were no registers open, only the 6 self checkouts. After getting to a self checkout register, my register stopped ringing groceries as did the customer at the machine behind mine. We were both trying to get the attention of the 4 clerks working with one woman at her self checkout register. Aggravation and tension was already elavated at the front of the store. I young clerk finally approached and said, "All you have to do is..."! At that point, I cut her off and said please don't tell what I need to do. What you need to do is open a damn register. 20 seconds later Mr. Brewster approached me and asked if I had a problem. I ignored him, and continued to try and checkout a cart full of groceries. He asked me a second time, "do you have a problem?". I replied, 'Yes, you need to open a register. He told me, "Take your money and get out of my store. Perplexed and stunned, I started walking towards the door. He continued to berate me, and when I responded to him, Mr. Brewster ordered one of the clerks to call 911. He followed me out the store in the parking lot. He bagan to write down my lisense plate number, so I pulled over and handed him my drivers license. At which time, he told me to get my "Ragedy shit off his property and never come back. I am I now banned from a Grocery store where I have been a loyal customer for over 40 years. I was born and raised in Ohio, and several famly members have retired from Kroger or still work in Kroger. I have earned medals from my counrty in war, but I can't shop at Kroger. Again, I am contacting headquarters directly in the morning to get there stance, but I have never been so humiliated and degraded in my entire adult life. If Kroger says this behavior from Mr. Brewster is acceptable, my famly may need to contact an attorney.

I am giving all your Richmond, VA stores a poor rating because of your deceptive pricing. I can never go into a store and have the price ring up as it is listed on the shelf. NEVER! I get so mad now because it happens all the time that I have to switch to Martins or Food Lion. I can afford to pay the price most of the time but the deception and sneaky way the prices are conditional in a 8 point font msg. is disgusting.

I was in the lawrenceburg, Indiana kroger store located at 371 West Eads Parkway. i was in the kroger for approximatly 5 minutes shopping for my sister's birthday and i had a manager walk up and tell me i needed to go put my carry pistol in my car. i explained that i had a license to carry a handgun in indiana and offered to show it to him; but he had no interest. when i said that it isn't posted anywhere in the building that no firearms are supposed to be here then i wasn't doing anything illegal. when i told him that he said it does not matter its "kroger policy." so i left the store. very dissappointed that we can't enjoy our freedom here in the USA. very dissapointed and never going back to krogers.

I REALLY THANK KROGER SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THE ELDER MAN DEAL,WHAT IF THAT WAS YOUR PARENTS,COME ON HOW MUCH OUT OF YOUR POCKET WOULD IT COST YOU TO PAY FOR A BUNDLE OF WOOD SO HE COULD KEEP WARM,DO YOU THINK GOD IS PLEASE WITH THIS WORLD,REMEBER GOD IS COMING BACK IN A DIFFERENT FORM OF LIFE. I THINK ITS A SAD WORLD WHEN SOME ONE CAN'T GIVE A LITTLE TO A PERSON WHO NEEDS HELP. I COULD SEE IF IT WAS A YOUNG MAN,BUT AN ELDERLY,AND THEN TO SHOOT HE BEST FRIEND,I PRAY FOR THE COPORATION I SURE YOUR HURTING FOR A BUNDLE OF FIRE WOOD.REMEBER WHAT GOS AROUND COMES AROUND IT COULD BE YOUR FAMILY OUT THEIR BEGGING,AND COLD,AND HUNGRY.I WILL NEVER LOOK AT KROGER STORES THE SAME.

I'm hoping this email gets to the right person (s). There are many concerns from workers at my store. The treatment of workers by management is hostile and discriminating. Workers tend to put up with the treatment. Jobs are threatened in order to make an employee work harder and faster. I spoke to one employee who is pregnant and supervisors refused to let her use the restroom as needed. This violates are basic human rights. I personally speak from experience. I have a medical condition and it has been used against me when trying to move up in Kroger. The store manager threatens you by the fear your hours/wages will be cut by demotion. In these hard economic times people are lucky to have a job. Management is abusing this by intimidation. Everyone complies because you want your job. No one wants to go our store management. It's a cut-throat atmosphere. If someone came to our store asking questions about ethics it would open a flood gate. I wouldn't be shocked if Kroger gets sued. Maybe then worker relations will be addressed. My store Dundee, Mi Kroger.
