Without question this is the WORST company I have EVER dealt with! I paid for online backup service for two years, and when I changed phone numbers and transferred the charge for the servie, they suspended my backup account in the process and then told me that there was no way that they could recover my files. All was lost.
In the last 4 months had to call customer service 5 times. Thats only the calls. I have had to restart or reset the modem multiple times. Longest period of service (with out calls to customer service) is 1 month 2 days in the last 4 months.
also for me 1.5 years and 1 promise after the next and all lies. this should be Fraud by theft. Paying for 6 megs and at night I either get 100kbs or usually not enough to even conductt a speed test. I am also going to talk to the atty gen of my state and if they come under the public service commsission file a complaint there to. I do not think they care if we file with the BBB because it is very evident that they do not care even one little bit about the customer so why would they care if we filed a complaint there. what a company. all upper management and Corporate officers should be totally ashamed.
I wish I'd checked this site before I switched to Windstream. Had I done that I would never have made the switch and thus not had all the trouble I've had with the company. The problems I've had with them and their service are too lengthy to list. Right now, I have overpaid them by $420. The story of how this happened is much too long to write here. For anyone out there thinking of switching to Windstream, DON'T!
Windstream needs to layoff some of their deadbeat, lazy, terrible employees like S Hightower, T McDaniel, T Locke, etc.... then others may get nervous and do a better job at work. Windstream employees are independent, terrible customer service oriented people who cant focus on quality CS.
yes i have been a costomer for almost three year and have had nothing but trouble with my service and i call the costomer service3 line and all they can ever tell me is that its on outage and they are working on it and that they cant do nothinbut give me a 15 dollar credit here and there buty i dont care about the credit i just want what i pay for and thats not happing and i really dont think it takes over two years to get something fixed and i have already contact the bbb and they told me to contact the attorney general and so i have done that but still waitting on that but i keep trying to call the corpate office and cant get throught windstream sucks and my next step is the media then maybe i can ge somthing done.
Been with Windstream for 5 years now, not by choice it is the only broadband in the Hilliard/Callahan FL area. The last 6 weeks or so the speeds have been constantly fluctuating from the 3 MB down to as low as .19 KBPS (my 3GS iPhone is running at a steady average of 1500 KBPS ! ) and I live in the woods :) Last two weeks made 5-6 calls to Windstream, had two technicians out. They upgraded my Modem to the latest 4300 series which did double my upload from 30 to 60 KBPS but the downloads continue to go to an unacceptable low speed. Doesn't matter time of day or any particular day consistant across the board. The Tech's that were out both indicated a Fiber Optic upgrade is headed my way but estimated time of completion is 8-12 months away. So I'm stuck with it until then, Oh yea did I forget to mention I live approximately 200 yards from one of the Carriers ! Windstream can you have the contractor's dig a little faster ? Regards

Windstream is the WORST company ever! Their tech support doesn't know what the HELL their doing... So they send technicians out to correct problems made by previous technicians costing you time and money away from work because someone has to be at your home when they show up. The went you call for credit to your bill. The customer service rep tell you they can give you only $1.44 credit for your lost of internet service and you missed a half of days work. So you still lose. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!!!!!! Message to the President Jeffery R. Garder GET OFF YOUR ASS AND BRING WINDSTREAM TECHNOLOGY TO THIS CENTURY AND IMPROVE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NOT COLLECT ANY BONUS MONEY UNTIL THIS IS DONE!!!!! When we get another company in our area that provide internet service I will change PROVIDERS even if it cost more!!!!!!!!!
Hello I have been with windstream for over 5 years and the first 4 years was fine about a year ago I started getting really low speeds on my internet we are talking about less then 56k speeds and have been stuck with it even tho i call almost everyday to see about this problem what the hell is going on i would have jumped ship if there was a ship to jump too but you are the only ones that provide for this area i pay every month for 3mb speeds and you provide 56k I would like to know if this problem is going to ever be fixed and if not let me know so i can chance my service and see about sueing you for the money you are stealing from me and from what i read here there are alot of ppl feeling the same way either drop people cuz you cant handle the load or use the money to fix the problem either way i feel your company is nothing but a scam and i wish i was a movie star or someone important cuz i know i wouldnt be treated this way ima make it my lifes work to see that this company fails
OMG, I would love to give Windstream a big ZERO, this is the worst company I have ever had to deal with, The only way to talk to them is to post on Facebook, Management is none existent , No one knows anything. Windstream has over sold itself, making everyone pay for a service they're not getting. They keep saying they're working on a upgrade but after 7 months my service has gotten worst, and not just at peek times, it's 24/7, With all the complains against, how are they still in business ?
I wish there was a ZERO choice for this. I am so sick and tired of the DSL going off and on constantly!! And you email them and all you get is a "We can not handle this situation. Please cal....." well when you DO call it is either...."We will send a technician out......" which when the technicians get here all they do is scratch their balls, looks straight up in the air and shake their head and say "I DONT KNOW!!!!!" or else the representative on the phone will tell you to unplug this, unhook that, restart the other BLAH BLAH BLAH!!! I feel like taking the whole thing and piling it up out in the yard, pouring gas on it and striking a match!! YES IT IS THAT BAD!!!!!!
GOD AWFUL customer service. Reps do not understand what is requested, alter requests, do not return phone calls, change appointment times without approval or telling our agency, and are at lunch at least 3 hours out of the work day. Windstream even tried to steal our website domain without our permission and sent us an enrollment package as if we had requested it! The only reason they were not able to hijack it was register.com did not let them. IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, DO NOT USE WINDSTREAM. The ONLY reason we used them is because there was absolutely no other option in our area when we moved offices. If you do use Windstream, expecpt unacceptable delays, unusable equipment, rude customer reps (when they can be reached), slimy salesmen, and ineffectual abilities to deal with business customers.
I am having the same problem that a lot of customers are having. I am not getting the mg promised by this company. Does the corprate office even read these comments. If I could I would get another company but they are the only ones that serve my area. I can't get direct or dish and the only tv I get is thru the internet. Help!
I was billed continuously monthly after my account was cancelled by me. I wrote them to two separate local offices by certified mail, in Greenville SC and Charlotte NC. They have not even had the courtesy to respond to my calls or letters.
I am giving a 1 star because there is nothing lower --- there should be. I was just on hold for 30 minutes with one of the "rep". She did not come back on the line to say what was going on and why I was being left on hold. At 30 minutes as I was going to hand up she came back and said her manager was "in a meeting". It appears everything and anything is more important than their customers. This company sucks! When phone lines go out their "account managers" do not respond to your calls or emails. When you can finally talk to them they say their equipment wasn't showing an outage --- so what, you were lying and had nothing better to do than call them??? When I signed up for service, several months later. I realized they had not transported my toll free number (WHICH WAS INCLUDED IN THE TOTAL COSTS). My toll free number had alwasy rang on my main line so it was not apparent that it wasn't operational. When I contacted their "account manager", the response was that it was too late now and they could only give me a new toll free number. Well that meant I had to change all my stationary, brochures and all other print material. There was never an offer of compensation. This number was a part of my agreement along with my other numbers. This is bull. I would not refer the underground world to them. If I could give incompetence a definition it would be WINDSTREAM. I would suggeat that everyone check out the other companies "they now own" before signing with anyone. It might just be Windstream and you too will get duped!

I had to close my business 6 months ago due to this grim economy, I have called windstream and asked to keep my number for a while and maybe this economy would turn around, well its been 4 months and doesnt look good for reopening, so i called windtream back to see about turning my service off, they told me i have a 24 month agreement that was done in Oct 2011!!!!!!! that is absolutley ridiculas and out ragiously unfair,,,, WHY WOULD I AGREE TO A 24 MONTH AGREEMENT WNEN I WAS CLOSED ALREADY !!!! i have writtin a letter to corporate and no responce back, i gues my next move is FCC and BBB, and then news station,,, this is highway robbery....they cant even tell me who made that agreement either!!!!!!!!!
I'm paying for the 12Mbps speed, but am lucky to get 2.I will be contacting BBB and a lawyer to get resolved since windstream cannot be trusted or reliable,
