WINDSTREAM DOES NOT CARE
Ordered new internet and phone 3 times in 1 week and Windstream cancelled all 3 times without any notification.
Crooks
False advertising, poor service. They should be run out of business, not to mention sued by their customers. I am getting close to dial-up speed when I'm supposed to be getting 12 mbps. They claim too many people are using the internet. Is this a joke? They also claim they need to replace a piece of equipment that is causing the issue. Are they going to replace it? Hell no. And there is no competition to find another provider. They know it - so they are cheating us and providing a service that is shabby and prehistoric. Where is the government and why is nothing being done to force this company to either provide the service they claim to provide or give up and allow someone else to come in.
What Customer Service
The Customer Service for windstream's Broadband internet service is non-existent. Two years and a continual run around. They should be sued for offering services that they can't provide properly. Anyone up for a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT?

I've been trying to play with my buddy marino who is using this crappy service. He disconnects at least every minute and can't play games with us. You are ruining our friendship!

I'm trying to play a game with my friend Marino, and It's impossible to do anything with the guy. He constantly drops out of calls on our skype so he can't even hear us make fun of him. Which lemme tell you, takes all the fun out of the situation. This all correlates with his intolerable internet speeds, one could even call it a crime the rates he has to abide with. It's inhumane to even conceive that this is happening to not only him.. but probably every one of your customers. I'm not a betting man but i'll bet that every windstream employee doesn't utilize the service of windstream for their internet. I'm highly disappointed in this company and all it has to offer, or more appropriately what it isn't offering. I hope google internet takes over your territory.

I have been a windstream customer for 25 years. The last three months I have had nothing but problems with slow speed internet. They have sent two guys out and gave me a new router new filters and nothing seems to help. Both guys told me the upper mangement at windstream knows there is a problem on their end and they won't fix it or tell them when it will be fixed. It is in the area of Waleska Ga. I think it is pretty bad when you have a company that don't care if a customer of 25 years leaves and goes to Comcast.

I called today to ask y I never get speeds over .5 mbs. They stated that there is an abundance of customers in the area that's y. I then asked y they don't upgrade the lines to take care of their paying customers. The lady stated that they r upgrading in other areas and my area isn't scheduled to b upgraded this yr. I then asked if I could only pay 1/6 of the bill since that's all the Internet that I get. She continued to tell me that she was sry and told me to hang in their or find another provider which I can't bc they r the only ones in the area.
This company is certainly lacking. I pay for high speed internet service and have for over 10 years and with Windstream since they bought out Valor. I cannot even get on the internet most of the time and it certainly isn't high speed. When I was told a service rep would be out and call, guess what no service man. My daughter is in college and needed to send final into school. Of course, we couldn't get on the internet and tried for 40 minutes. I ask where the tower is for my high speed internet connection and was told they didn't know. I am filing suit against the company, filing a complaint with the better business bureau, attorney general and on up. This is a ridiculous way to run a business.

This is the worst service I have ever seen and I have been in the customer service business for over 30 years !!! Our local TV stations are on their way to our home RIGHT NOW to expose this is ridiculous. Sorry for your luck you just lost about 120,000 customers !!!

I honestly believe Crapstream will never change..after years of bad service why would they change now?..specially knowing they are the only phone company in the area?
I used Cavalier and then Windstream for my 3 year contract. I told a sales rep in an email that I wanted to discontinue my service. I got another service provider and set it up. I transferred the lines. They send me a bill anyway for another month of service after my contract was up. Even when sent the email that I sent them terminating the service they refused to remove the charge for the extra month stating that I didn't "notify them in writing" that I did not want to continue by contract. I have an email to them which they responded to, and we told them by phone. They have passed my account to a nasty collection attorney who is lobbing threats on my and trying to lie about what the bill is for. Never never ever use them.
REFUND
My wife and I discontinued our service in December of 2012. Switched to charter phone and internet. We paid the partial fee for a partial months service. My wife and I have been going through some tramatic situations. Unfortunately she paid both Charter and Windstream by mistake. We have since talked to at least 6 reps on 3 different days were I was told we would be refunded $60.52. It is 4/21/2013 and my wife and I still havn't received our $60.52 refund. Their reps are nice, friendly, polite and for the most part professional. Its not their fault. However it is Windstream's process which has been dictated by their top executives and their call in automative service which has made doing business with Windstream a joke. If I have to depend on Windstream for internet or phone in the future I will do with out for eternity.
Poor Service
Paid for high speed internet, and only getting low speeds. Excuses after excuses, even at corporate level. If you have any other choices than Windstream, take it.
Poor Service
If you can go to another service go to it. I have had Windstream for over 8 year, and nothing but problems. High speed is low speed, and nothing but excuses. Called corporate office a lot of times because I wasn't able to get any relief at local offices. Wish there was another service in my area. Son is home schooled with streaming video, and I never know if it's going to work or not. I have received the latest modem today, connected it, and still nothing above 1 mb/s.
Worst Service Ever
Starting in August 2012, we constantly experience slower than dial up speeds, latency issues, and internet outages for hours. We pay for high speed internet service. When I call them, I'm told they are aware of the problem and they are fixing it, but they won't give a date. We live in a rural area and there are no other options. They are acting like a monopoly.

I pay for 12 speed. And have been getting 1.3 and down to 533kbps. Called windstream and they have been working on this problem ticket in this ky area since December. She told me they will have the problem fixed in 2013. Today is march 17. So somewhere in 2013 the problem will be fixed in the next 9 months. So I think everyone in ky should file a class action lawsuit. And ask to be put into arbitration. They will have to flip the bill on it. Demand more action and full credits.

Incredibility poor service, technically incompetent, zero consumer support, the FCC should shut this company down.

Windstream charges for services they cannot supply because they are too busy pocketing the money rather than taking care of up grades and equipment. They know they don't have the ability to supply the service they have now yet they continue to subscribe new customers thus adding more of a burden to an already over taxed system. These people are taking money with the intent of NOT providing services, because they CAN'T. Windstream has a monopoly in most areas so there are no other choices, thus no competition to push them to do better.
This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was on with tech support for 11 hours yesterday dealing with an issue of not being able to log onto my school's website where I take online classes. I was able to access every other site on the internet except that one and my school had told me it was a problem with my service provider. Windstream had corrected this for me twice before, but for some reason yesterday, they decided to tell me that perhaps my school thought I was a computer hacker and had blocked me from entering the school site. I told the guy I was almost 50 years old and that he was a complete moron and needed to connect me to a supervisor. He told me no and hung up on me. Sadly, we have no other options in our area for internet or I would go tell them to shove their router up their sorry outsourced asses.
