Windstream is horrible. If anyone is interested, we need to hire an attorney and file a class action lawsuit against Windstream because they are charging customers for high speed internet and we are not receiving what we hav been paying for. My internet is horrible, here are the excuses I have gotten lately, latency outage, too many people in area on internet, part is on back order, part came in but was the wrong part. I think Windstream does not want to spend the money to upgrade their equipment and is ripping everybody off. WE NEED TO FILE A LAWSUIT ON THESE PEOPLE!

Concerned Customer

I have been a customer of Windstream for some years. Never in all the years I have had this service have I had a consistent connection speed. I have continued to follow the line of communication to resolve problems. It ends here! This is without a doubt the poorest internet provider in existence. I have updated and purchased each upgrade and piece of equipment as directed I am still at less than 1.0 Mb speed paying for 12.0 and have intermittent service at best.

Frustrated, disappoint with poor service and support

The integration of Paetec into Windstream is a disaster that management must not be aware or care. Often, when I call, the trouble ticket is not in the system because it belongs to another group and the two groups have no access; the ticket has been closed; the ticket was combined with someone else's account complaint and then closed. I am at two months try to fix the same problem. Issues with e-mail have resulted in 8 hours of involvement with techs who either have no knowledge and certainly no authority to escalate, and therefore cannot or are not allowed to fix. One tech asked me to send multiple test messages to assist in trouble shooting. I did. The result: all my accounts were block because I was flagged as a spammer!! Billing issues are another area of despair, but that is for another time.

Windstream customer service is the worst I have ever encountered! I have been waiting 15 weeks for a refund check of $ 11.33 for 4 days of service I did not get because I moved and cancelled my service. Yes $ 11.33!!!! All I keep hearing is we are researching it and working on it. I have called so many times and heard the same lines from their phone junkies. Never a call back as promised on several occasions fom their so called supervisors. I wish their CEO would visit this siter and read these reviews! I think a call to the BBB is in order to tell them about this lame company!

You've Got To Be Kidding

I live in South Georgia and, unfortunately, have Windstream for my internet and telephone services. As you can probably guess I get REALLY lousy service. That is a given. What I find interesting is the fact that that Windstream provides substandard service and knows it. Their philosophy is that if their customer gets 65% of the service they are paying for that is acceptable. How about if I only paid 65% of my bill? Also, their equipment is substandard and forced to handle more demand than they are built to handle. I had to have a cable restrung from a telephone pole to my house and the field technician screwed up the reconnection at the house. Now I don’t have internet service. They refused to send him back out to the house that day and guaranteed to have a technician at my house the nest day by noon. When they told me that they were actually making a ticket out for the day after, lying to me as they were talking to me. Everyone that reads this and has had similar problems needs to file a complaint with the Public Service Commission in their state. Don’t forget, power in numbers.

Non-existent Customer Service

I have been a Windstream victim for three months. There customer service has me rethinking my decision to leave my previous local cable company. I left them because of poor customer service. If I was the Dish Network I would be concerned about having a company like Windstream representing my products.

Retaliation

I called Windstream tech support for DSL and complained that I was not getting but 390-399kbps on my DSL line when I have been paying for 3MB. The person I spoke with said "they" had created a ticket and when "they" corrected the problem I would get higher speed. She did not know what to say when I said I had had this slow speed since inception of my service under Alltel in 2004. When I got off the phone my service suddenly went out and I darn sure do not think it was coincidence.

Terrible service.

This company has the sorriest internet service I have ever encountered. To make it worse you can't get anyone to do anything about it except make a bunch of empty promises. The last time I had problems they said a technician would be out to talk with me and check to find the problem. Two days later when noone had shown up I called back and was told by the customer service rep that the tech advised he had spoken to me and all was well. I told her that was not true and that he never came by. She placed me on hold for a long time then came back and said the tech had driven by and didn't notice a problem. It's hard to learn the problem when the tech doesn't even get out of the vehicle. The tech finally told the service rep that I wasn't at home. That's another lie because I am on hospice care and very seldom ever leave my home. Something should be done by the FCC or the state Regulatory Commission but that doesn't happen either. The State Attorney General's office don't seem to care either. It appears that this company is allowed to do as they please with no repercussions. Maybe it is time that a class action lawsuit is filed against them. I am lucky if I can get online 3 -4 hours out of the day and I pay over $120.00 per month for Hi speed DSL which should be called turtle DSL.

Out Of Luck

This is the worst company in the entire world. They will create tickets and follow through with them. Our phone and internet service has been messed up since we lived in our home that we bought almost three years ago. I am a full time nursing student and my husband works for the railroad. Three days ago our phone service went out, and I called and informed them that my husband has to have our phones because this is how he gets called to work to provide our living, no one could come until the next day which has now cost my husband to become out of service due to missing a call for work. Do you think they care? Absoluteley not, do you now why? I'll tell you, because if you research to try to find another phone and internet service provider, guess what they are going to tell you? "We are sorry Mrs. Potter, but unfortunately there is no other service provider in your area, so you are screwed." Thank you Windstream for taking away our only source of income while I work my behind off trying to make it through Nursing School with a home to pay for and three children to provide for!

Poor service

I am sitting on hold for a supervisor and have been for over 15 minutes to get an explanation why the internet in my area goes out at the same time each day. I work from home and can no longer afford to pay for a service I don't recieve. You customer service is terrible. No one responds to complaints...guess I'll try comcast.

extremely bad dsl

I have been a windstream customer for about 6 months.I constantly get bad conncections with my dsl.The company does not resolve the issue ,Just excuses Shame on you Windstream

Tech Service

I will be writing a letter to your President CEO c commending the work of your Service Tech Ms. Shelly Singh, who went out of her way in assisting me with a Modem problem that 3 other Reps did not solve for me. Meantime trust this pre-cursor to my letter is routed to the proper person. Mr. R. Thompson/ Lititz, Pa.

We have no other option available in our area and are CONSTANTLY experiencing outages and latency issues. We have never even gotten half of the internet speed we pay for. How is this MONOPOLY legal???

These guys SUCK! most of these comments are taking about 3 or so months of pro;blems. i have had the same problems for 2 YEARS! They again ar ethe only game in town and im not stopping at my STATE attorney general, IM calling the FCC and the FTC! $45 bucks a month when FREE NET ZERO WOULD BE FASTER! WINDSTREAM YOU ARE CROOKS AND SHOULD ALL BE IN JAIL!

"Poor" isnt even close!! This service is the worst I have EVER had from ANY company in my life!! I have been on the phone over and over and over and still our internet does not work. We have no choice, this the only provider in our area. I have never been lied to so much by so many different people. We are on our 3rd modem, and have had 3 service calls actually answered with a 4th outstanding for a month now. Oh, and every single call I have made has resulted in a new lie as to why our internet isnt working, including it is my computer blocking the signal, and the websites I stream from have too large of a customer base to handle. I think it is that WINDSTREAM has too many customers to handle and their equiptment is atiquated and they will not shell out the money to upgrade! But hey, who cares? They are making their money right?

Since 9/26/2012 the advertised Windstream Merge DSL speed of 6Mbs has struggled to get above 3 and averages about 1. I have called 6 times and scheduled a technician visit as well as many emails. As of yesterday I waited 4 hours for the technician to arrive, no show no call, Windstream apologized yet again and stated that the appt. had been entered as 10/15/1959 and would be rescheduled. Approx. 2 minutes after R/S tech a robo call informed me that the issue was a network outage that would be addressed today and that the tech appt had been canceled. I fail to understand how a DSL company could have an unresolved network outage for over 3 weeks? raj201 10/15/12 8:23AM

Windstream is awful ive been trying for years to get DSL in my area finally its here im paying 49.99 a month for 1.3 ive been advised theres a bad line in my area.. The line trencher is 200ft from my residence but there telling me they need a work order to connect to my residence. so ive been calling until i loose my Voice...Finally Windstream knocked my bill to 19.99 a month Dial up pricing. So my point is Windstream Are Worthless when it comes to DSL.
