Time warner cable completely sucks as a company. Those in corp,hide under a rock and should all be fired.
This should be a no star rating but I didn't have that option. This past July I received my bill for August and it was only $50 dollars and some odd change. I called inquiring why my bill was so low knowing that the "promotion" was going to be ending around that time and expected my bill would be outrageous as it usually is when a promotion ends (last year it went from &160.00 to $300.00!! untill we renegotiated). The customer service rep that I spoke to informed me that there was two payments made in July so $50 dollars and some odd change was all I owed. When I informed her that only one payment had been made for $154 something and the check number she then proceeded to argue with me that two payments had been made and what I owe is the same amount that's on the statement. I finally realized that it was silly to be arguing over my bill being lower! so I dropped it. NOW I know I should have pressed on. My September bill came with 2 one time fees. One for $99.30 and a second for $17.74. After talking to 3 reps I finally got to a supervisor who informed me that my account was accidently credited with someone else's payment and that I owe over $123.00 in addition to my September monthly bill. I said so let me get this straight. someone on your end messed up and when I called you to find out what was going on and was told that everything was fine sometime after that someone realized they messed up and instead of contacting me to discuss this, or even taking care of it on your end because it was your mess up I don't receive my monthly statement with a past due amount( which still would have upset me but would have made some sense) I get my monthly statement with two one time fees. I informed Chuck the supervisor that this was unacceptable and that this was not my error and I was not paying for someone else's error. Chuck then said because as we all know customer service is not important to Time Warner and apparently even when the customer is right they are not right to them.He then says well it's like this. If you take your car to the mechanic and you go to pay your bill and they tell you it's all paid for and then you get a call the next day that you didn't pay your still responsible for paying. I said to Chuck no Chuck it't more like this. I was given a receipt stating that It was all paid for and now you call me wanting me to pay. chuck then said ma'm service were rendered you can't get services for free. I was so bloomin' fit to be tied at this point I didn't even remind this nit wit that services are paid for a month ahead of time! The August bill is for Septembers services which will be ended before this month is over. So good luck to anyone out there just signing up with this company. They are too big and only out for profit.

im telling you,i have been with time warner for 11 years,paid more in 3 in one package than i did to own my own home,they say they value as a customer,but i beg to differ.i was behond on my cable bill,two weeks ago i called and a manager had put me on a pay arrangement to pay 85. one week and the next friday to pay 84. dollars,i paid the 85.00 last week,this week i noticed there was a holiday,so i called time warner and they told me ,to call back on sunday to let them know i would pay this off my debit card on monday because of the holiday.here it is saturday morning ,they had disconnected all my services.i had called on my "obama" phone that is for my childs heart condtion and my juivnile diabetes,to call 911,in case of an emergency,they kept me on there for over an hour,throwing me around like trash from one person to another,finally i got a hold of a lady named "May",thank god for her,to beable to help me,considering the rest just kept throwing me around,and i explained to everyone of them,the same sitaution,im on an "obama" phone i need to speak to a manager.its sad they could run my phone from obama for emergency because nobody there wanted to put me through to a manager.im considering other options now,because heck majic jack is only 1.95 a month for 1 year then,29.99 a month,time warner charges me between my three services 160.00 a month plus all these taxes n fees.UNBELIEVEABLE !!!!!!!!!!
On hold for 25 minutes for the 4th day in a row, I always hear the same message, "we're experiencing unusually high call volume". Every day? more like USUALLY high call. I bought a motorola SB6121 and needed to simply call them to give the MAC address and it was supposed to work. After talking with 6 people by phone, email and chat, and spending 4 days (total of 6+ hrs), still not working. I really don't think that TWC knows what it's doing. Too bad they're aren't cable alternative. I seriously want to change to a satelite servive provider as I wait again on hold for 30 minutes.........

When my email began to be returned as non deliverable, I called Time Warner (TW) and struggled to understand the India tech. Finally learned TW was having a problem and it was being resolved. About a week later as the problem was growing, I called again and this time the India tech had an even stronger accent and again was told TW was working on the problem. The tech then wanted to know about something on my PC re a problem and when I obliged by giving him the info, he began by saying I had a virus and to go here, go there and report to him. At the time I thought, "Gee, I did not know that TW was so obliging and helpful in resolution of a problem. He kept on and on and suddenly I realized he was moving my cursor! I became very angry and asked who he was and how did he dare to get on my PC. I did NOT give him any such permission nor did I see any pop up screens notifying me of such. The tech began to argue and said he could take care of all viruses etc for a hundred and some dollars! I knew very well TW does not charge for such service and so immediately shut him down and my PC off. I have tried ever since to get some response, service from TW about this situation. They not only could care less but do not respond to my telling them their must be a security breach in their system or some employee manipulating on his job. I would think they should be concerned about such a circumstance. Trying to contact higher management is a lost cause. They would continue to put me on hold when I called in and then the line goes dead. All profess ignorance of what happened; no one has any idea how I became switched to a person professing to be a TW tech and then tried to sell me service. Now if I have to call them for any reason, I will have to try to assure myself that it is indeed a TW tech on the phone. If I had any choice in the area I live, I would certainly get better service and from what I read on this blog, I am not alone in my complaint about the service of TW or the lack of response from management. So far there is no other service here, but the minute there is, I will be long gone from TW.
Had cable hooked up two days ago after speaking beforehand to several people on phone and in person with questions I needed to know before making decision to install. Several people apparently did not properly and clearly explain what the agents would and would not do. After installation and spending hours on phone with various people from the Phillipines, I began demanding that I needed to speak with someone in my country. Through no fault of the people I was speaking with, I could barely hear them, and on the very rare occasion when I could, I could not understand them due to their heavy accents. FINALLY, I was told to call a number where I could speak to someone in America; as it turned out, she was a couple thousand miles away in another state and only had records for her state. I AGAIN traveled in person to my local office and was received quite coldly. After exclaiming I could not believe a supervisor could not be contacted to have an American technician call me, I sat there quite a while while the agent was on hold on the phone and apparently busy typing her version of what I said - or something. I was adamant about speaking to a technician somewhere in this country, and finally, she apparently got someone on the other end of the phone. I was told to give an exact time when he could call me. I told them to call me 9:00 a.m. today and that I would be sure to be home in front of my computer. It is now 12:22 p.m. and there has been no call; I don't expect there will be. Also, when the internet was set up, I followed the technicians outside also to see their work. They appeared to be in a real hurry, and as one worked on the wires and boxes on my fairly new vinyl siding, I asked several times if new holes in the siding were necessary. Each time I was told 'no'- as I watched him remove old items (leaving holes) and put new ones for the necessary box and wires. It was done before I could open my mouth. (I understand it may have been the way he possibly had to do it, but why not stop a minute and give an honest explanation?) Needless to say, after two days, I'll be keeping my eyes open to see what kind of service other companies may have in our area.
If you are not stressed out when you begin with this company you will be by the time you are finished. I had a tech come out to fix a problem on a tv in my husbands garage. While he was here he went to the pole and said it was in really bad shape, rust was on the connector coupling, they had put a interior coupling on a exterior coupling and it had rusted, this was done by a previous contractor for Insight Communications before TW bought them out. He fixed it and put a new cable line across our yard which is about 90 ft from the pole. He said it would be about 3-4 days before they would be out to bury the line. Well my husband new better as he was in construcion all his life and he new they would have to have the utility lines marked, called a BUD run, that was done two weeks ago. They had us scheduled for a burial of the line yesterday Aug 6, 2012 and the hrs 8-7. Nearly 5 weeks after the fact, well after waiting all day, they were a no show. I have made so many calls to the customer service line I am sure that my name is flashing on a board somewhere. I waited today for a courtsey call about when they would be out and guess what... I call customer service tonite and they tell me they will be out on Sept 5th to bury the line. Needless to say the customer service lady had to listen to me rant once again and once again the answer was I will email all of this to the dept. I told her nothing less that a phone call from someone was expected tomorrow and I demanded that someone be out to my home this week to bury this cable line. I have NEVER seen such customer service like this in my life..... They can either do what is right or I am done with them. If anyone from Time Warner Cable cares about this email, man up and call me and explain how you can allow your company to treat good hardworking customers to be treated like this 502-931-9587.
So my service was turned off for late payment (which was fine because I hadn't paid for starting a new job). Well my first paycheck which was one week after it was turned off was taken over the phone and I was told they would have a tech come out and hook it back up. I was moving so I just requested for a transfer to the new address along with adding some new boxes to our home. The guy I spoke with long story short actually opened up a whole new account in my social which put up a red flaq to the credit department and they canceled BOTH of the services. No one contacted me or my GF in regards to this matter at all and the only way we found this out was to call them after the appointment window closed and they told us there was nothing they could do! After discussing there faults they found a way to blame it on us and ended up hanging up on us when just asked questions that they couldn't answer. No curse words were used, we were very professional. Sucks they can treat customers this way and when you ask for a Sup or Manager they just back there rep!
There is an option for minus 10 stars for customer service. I just moved to Texas from Arizona and I have never had such a problem getting cable and internet service. The customer service representatives are USELESS... When I ordered it the representative said it would be quicker to get self install as I would receive the equipment in 2 days and a regular installation wouldn't be available for 4 days...Well, it has been 5 days and i am still waiting for the equipment to arrive. When I call TWC, they could not tell me if the equipment has shipped so they were unable to give me a tracking number. For Real... How could this be? I asked for the Corporate address as I want to send a letter of complaint. The supervisor could not tell me. They gave me the corporate phone number but when you call you have to leave a voicemail. I will be moving my service and will NEVER recommend Time Warner Cable to anyone.
Someone stole my identity and got TWC cable while I was stationed in Germany then overseas in Afghanistan. I didn't find out til I was deployed. HOW THE HELL CAN YOU CHARGE MY SSN BUT NOT HAVE THE BRAINS TO CHECK A PHOTO IDEA CARD? NOW THEY TELL ME I HAVE TO FILE A POLICE REPORT IN A TOWN I DON'T LIVE IN AND I HAVE TO PROVE I WAS IN GERMANY IN AFGHSANISTAN ALL BECAUSE A TWC WORKER DIDN'T CHECK ID CARD OR SSN CARD?!?!? WTF IS THAT?!?!? I HAVE CALLED 3 TIMES TRYING TO GET THE "FRAUD PACKET" FROM TWC STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT. WHAT A JOKE AND NOW MY CREDIT SCORE IS FUCKED!!!!!!! THANKS!

If there was a way to get any other serivce I would. Time Warner is the worst cable company I have ever had!!!! They sell you a service but never deliver. I pay for the "EXTREME" internet service but don't get it. When I complain and they send out their less than smart techs I usually get "Well you have a wireless network so you'll never get the highest speed". Yet my neighbors have the exact same service with a wirelss network and they have no problem. I HATE TIME WARNER AND THEIR LACK OF SERVICE!!!
Last month when I called Time Warner to have my cable phone cancelled Customer Service The Service Rep. became rentless in trying to keep me from doing so. As it turned out my service was never given the Triple promotion. The Rep. did apologize and gave me a bundle package so I kept the phone. I have been a month behind in my bill for about a year but $135 per week will not pay rent, utilities, and cable. I got a past due bill of 130 in June 2012. I was happy and resolved myself to catch back up with bill payments. Today (July 2012) I got a bill saying I had to $290 buy mid July or my service would be cut off.The bill was dated July the 6th but I received it July 14th. Bill payment is due July 17th. I called them as soon as I read the bill. I was told the total bill was $491.05 which the past due amount was prorated to include the upcoming billing date. I asked them how they could include a billing date that has yet to arrive? I insisted they remove the next billing date but they refused to do so. They tranferred me to their Retention Dept to help. The Retention Dept only tried to raise my bill by offering more services. So it was back to the Billing Dept. The next Rep moved to the Collections Dept. Collections would not make any payment arrangements stating I was still in good standings until July 22nd when they would cut off my services. They sent me back to billing. I heard the same script about my bill and that there was nothing they could do. Why? Even though Time Warner says I am a "valued customer" they treated me as they would the bad customers. They said the rules apply to all and not the one customer. So we as their customers are viewed as an Entity! We are not a cutomer. I tried to do the right thing!! I even went and payed a portion of the past due amount. I hope that Corporate Time Warner reads this. When I catch up to this bill I will completely cancel my service with them because the poor treatment I received today. Verizon Fios will suit me well. I will recommend them to other people as my friends recommend Verizon to me. I owed my gas & eletric company $1500 at a point and I have caught up with them. I was treated well without any service interruption. That is all I tried to do with Time Warner today. But they were persistant and would not give me the needed time to catch up so I will have little if any food to eat. I will remember this experience and call the Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General's Office about this too! And I will tell anyone if there is any remote possiblity that you could get in the financial bund that came my way get rid of Time Warner Cable now! They do not care and YOU ARE NOT A VALUED CUSTOMER in all reality. They will get the remainder of the past due amount as billing and agreed to and then CUT!!!
I called TWC in April to have my home service suspended while I traveled for 5 to 6 weeks. The person I spoke to said if I suspended the whole package I would need to get it all started over again, so I chose to keep the internet active during my absence. I had no intentions of disconnecting the service only wanted it suspended. While I was on the road I still have low speed internet (lite) and when I was returning to Kansas City area I called to have the service reactivated, I was informed by the service representative I needed to get a new package started. I explained I only suspended the service and needed it turned on again. This person who could not speak very clear said I had no choice and I need to select a new package. I explained I was not informed of this stuff when I called to suspend my service; she had no concern and only asked if I wanted to have cable installed in my home again. I ended with having to get a cable service package the required a cable box of which I explained I had once before and returned and have no need for it. I was informed that in order to get cable I had to have this box and I did not even think to discuss the internet service before the call was completed. When the installation person arrived he proceeded to install a "cable box" and informed it would control the TV, DVD, and Blue Ray Stereo. Later that evening I tried using the new remote for the first time and did something wrong and I lost everything and could not get anything to work. I tried looking in the book they gave me but was overwhelmed and confused. I ended up removing the new cable box all the connections to other components. Installed the cable back into my TV and was where I was before all the nonsense started. I have tried to get this resolved and only keep hitting brick walls and nothing happening except spending many minutes (hours) on my cell phone. The employees from Kansas City are rude and inconsiderate, though their standard statement is “sorry for your in convince” They have an English speaking problem and seem to be least concerned about the issues and only read off of a monitor what the options are. When I ask for a manager, I do not get one and am informed "I am a manager and I will take care of you" Their phone system is the worse that I have ever used and it cuts you off after giving you a recoded apology for their terrible service. This company should be shut down and investigated and I believe they are using deception and poor practices to take advantage of the customers and have no means or process of contacting actual management or higher management to make them aware of the terrible actions their company is delivering. I believe that this is a standard practice of the TWC Company because all the searching I tried to do to get points of contact for TWC is in vain. This leads me to believe it is all set up this way on purpose.
Actually my rating should be minus 10 stars. I am looking into other options for my tv/cable/phone service. I moved 2 years ago from a little town in PA and the cable company there was 5+ stars. Time Warner is TERRIBLE both in their product and cannot find the words for their customer service (sic). Any other option I find HAS to be better.
I live in San Antonio,Texas,I left Att after false advertising, but one thang I can say about ATT they are quick to respond,and fix any problems that is cause by them. Time Warner Techanician went though my ceiling its been a week, this has causes my CPS bill to go up,they have been putting me off with one excuse after another, I'am feld up I'am going to call my Television Station and let them know how lousy they are to there customer after coming into my home and destroying my home,they should of had a special department for something like this to be suh a big corporation such as they are,than to get a shed tree carpenter that has call me over and over stating he told them he can't not do it. I'am Puss is this is the way you get treated for leaving Att and coming back to you,I want my ceiling fix it's been {2} weeks to long and every time I call all I get is a FICKING EXCUSE, I HOPE YOU ARE READING THIS YOU DON"T TREAT YOUR CUSTOMER LIKE THIS
