My son attends NDSU in Fargo SD. We were in Fargo to visit him and decided to go to TGI Friday;s store 1776. The meals were good but I was dissapointed in the store not offering senior and student discounts. I asked our server if they offered either discount and was told no. Your in a college town and don't offer student discounts? That is a great way to loose the student business!!! Let alone the senior discount. I would rather go to other places that cater to the students and seniors. You have lost my business and any reccomendation!!
Upon our party of five’s arrival at TGI Fridays, we were greeted by a very friendly hostess who promptly acknowledged our request to be seated outside. As we were waiting at our table to be approached by our server, we proceeded to select our drinks from the menu. After fifteen minutes passed without being recognized by a single server, one finally came to our table to ask if we had been helped. After we replied no, the server stated that she would let someone know that we were there. After another five minutes of waiting, a server appeared at the door and peeked out apprehensively to assess our table. This server finally approached our table and apathetically apologized for the wait that we may have incurred. After asking what we would like to drink, we proceeded to give her our drink requests as well as placed our food order as we were concerned that it would be a while before she returned to our table. Another ten minutes passed and our drinks still had not arrived. At this time, I approached the hostess who had seated us and asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with the manager (who did not offer her name) about our experience thus far and expressed my concern about the attentiveness of our server. I asked the manager if we could have another person as our server because we still wanted to eat at this location. The manager quickly obliged my request and stated that someone would be to our table shortly to help us. After I returned to our table, another five minutes passed, and the same server that was requested to be exchanged appeared with our drinks. At the same time as the server was handing out our drinks, another server arrived to introduce herself as our server. Clearly a miscommunication issue, the manager came to our table to apologize for not sorting out the situation prior to our previous server returning to our table. After our initial 45 minutes of sub-par service, our visit was nicely recovered with the new server (Jessica J). Surprisingly, the manager did not offer to mitigate our complaints. Coming from years of experience in a restaurant as a server and head trainer, dissatisfaction alleviation is extremely important to maintaining healthy customer relationships as well establishing a customer base that will happily return and sing your praises. As a customer who was extremely unhappy with the way our situation was handled, I would highly recommend training all managerial staff on customer relationships because “a happy customer is your walking advertisement”.
Go to Texas Roadhouse...they'll take car of you!!
Took my date to TGI Fridays hoping for some good food and a couple drinks at a reasonable price, and left still hungry; like I was wondering what I had just paid $83 and change for?? I ordered the "Key West" Shrimp dinner, which was nothing but 2 shrimp skewers on a plate. The shrimp was tiny, and covered in some black stuff like charcoal, and was definitely overcooked. It didn't even come with the customary bed of rice. My date ordered the chicken breast sandwich. We both had 2 strawberry daquiris. We asked that they use Bacardi in the daquiris. Our waitress said no problem. We tried ordering dessert, but they claimed that the cheesecake which was advertised was frozen, and couldn't be served. Then they ended up charging us for it, anyway. Our bill came to $83. and change. They decided to charge us nearly $8 per shot (4) in addition to the price of the 4 daquiris, even though we were never told there would be an extra charge. They also charged us for the dessert which we never got, and then refused to credit us the $10 for parking (which we were told by the parking attendant would be reimbursed to us by the restaurant). That was a lie. The service was poor, the quality (and quantity) of the food was poor, and the prices were astronomical! And, then the manager tells us they can't reimburse us for parking. I left this TGI Fridays feeling very unsatisfied and ripped off. I would not want to go back.
We went to TGIF for lunch about a week ago. We had a sandwich with a salad wedge and the sandwich was so small it only took 2 bites to finish. My soup was cold and they were to busy to take care of us. The cost was to much for the amount of food we received. We were really disappointed because the advertisement on television made it look so good. We go there quite often and this was very disappointing.
I have the unacceptable treatment last night at the TGIF in Buena Park, Ca. I was very unhappy with the staff's attitude and quality of service. I got a bad drink and then got a cold chicken with my combo meal. The waiter only gave me a $4.00 discount. I then asked for the manager. When the manager didn't apologize and she said there was no further discount. She also refused to give me her name. I was horrified and explained that a cold chicken can get people sick. After she gave me worse service than the waiter I told her to take the meal off my check. All I wanted was a discount. Things got worse and she kicked us out by calling Knotts Security to ask us to leave before I could even pay with my credit card. I guess complaining gives us no rights! Are people not allowed to complain? My older aunt and I left embarressed. This is how they treat paying customers? I will never go there. My incedent was 8/19/2010.
i was a loyal employee at tgi Friday's for almost 3 years first to year's was great but since our store is a m.i.t store we get new managers in well anyway in the last year i have been sexually harassed humiliated by another manager yelled at put down to say the least and im not the only one it happens all the time at my location just people are to scared to stand up and say something and who can blame them when i did the manager's turned on me even a few employees well the ones who go out and party with the harasser young girls just trying to fit in well some one needs to step up and i guess that's were i will come in or it wont stop for the next employee i had a break down now no job no self esteem nothing thanks Friday's
This place deserves no stars. I got an alcoholic beverage w/o being carded. Why? Because I never ordered one and I'm highly allergic. I asked for the homemade lemonade, and got lemonade with alcohol in it. On a non-sick day, I could taste the alcohol, but I shouldn't have to figure out if my drink is spiked. Anyhow, within 5 minutes of sipping my drink, I started getting really hot and sick. I spoke to my waiter who told me my drink had no alcohol in it, but I was puking my brains out in the bathroom. I ended up not eating, no one at the place cared, and I had to leave while my friends paid the bill. The next day, I left a comment on the TGIF website, and got an email back from the Braintree manager, Liam Quilty-Dunn, whom left his #. I called and left messages 3Xs. Nothing. So I emailed back. Nothing. I called the corporate # above, and the girl gave me a case # and told me that she would resend Mr. Liam the issue. Have I heard back? Nope. My incident was 7/26/2010 ...today is 8/18/2010.
tryed tgi fridays once and got bad service at aventura restraunt we will never go back
I visited your Southfield, MI location on Evergreen, on July 30. I had a visitor from Texas and decided to take her to Fridays, to my surprise it's Karoke night. I have no problem with that, however, the music was so loud that we found ourselves screaming at each other. I asked for the waitress for a manager, she said "that he is not going to turn it down, but I will tell him you want him". Well, he never came, I then asked the waitress why didn't the manager come over, then she said "Well, they are on the last song now he said it's wasn't necessary for him to come". What a JOKE! I waited for him for 45 minutes before the last song. This manager belongs in the "Hall of Shame". Unfortunately this is not the first time that I've encounter bad management from Friday's. Corporate Office you must do something because me and my friends have lost our zeal to even come to another Friday's, it use to be the place meet, now it is the place to beat.
How bad is the service at TGIF's these days? Bad enough when a waitress, tells you u have to wait, save ur cash, avoid the Soloman Pond Mall, and by the way do they pay their employee's to text while you wait? TGIF's? Pass Next Stop Bertucci's
I got to tell ya , the General Manager at TGIFs in port charlotte is the worst G,M i have ever met , we sit at the bar and eat and when that lady comes in she has a nasty look on her face from the moment she hits the door , A very unhappy lady in a used to be fun place to eat , We as a customer can here this lady yelling at her staff yelling at the kitchen people and her ass,mgr makes it really unconfortable TGIFs need to do something about her
Recently we were in NY city, and went to Times Square TGI Friday's at 3.30 pm for quick bite. But that quick bite turned into a nightmare and a dreadful experience which will definitely stop us from going to this chain in life. We went with our kids to this location. They have offered us a table by the kitchen, even though they have lot of other tables. We have asked waiter to move us to a different location. That is when I have noticed all the families with kids have been clumped together in a dark corner. I have a serious problem with seating arrangement. This shows that families with kids are treatly unfairly, not given the best seating and best dining experience, even though they are charged the same amount as everybody else. I want to know where does it say, families with kids does not deserve better seating. This kind of attitude makes me sick. HORROR DETAILS: we ordered 3 lunch specials at 3.40 pm and it a team of 4 people nearly 1.5 hours to fill the order. On top that we were charged double the amount for one the lunch special. This place is run by headless chickens. They have no clue of what is happening and act as ostriches with their heads in the sand. I would not be surprised if the location closes in a year. I sincerely hope that this location closes, so that it prevent people from having heartbreaking experieneces. Owner Adam is busy and he is not ready to listen to customers problems. This Owner is the biggest Ostrich in that store. PEOPLE WAKE UP AND SMELL THE ****
As a member of TGI’s Get More Stripes and a regular customer I will now make you aware of a most unpleasant dining experience tonight. My wife and I are very upset and will not enter the TGI Fridays on Beechmont again! People dine together to share time as a family, not just eat dinner. My grown children and my wife and I all met together at your restaurant on Sat. July 23, 2009. We have not been together in over a month. I made a 5 pm reservation for 7 people. We were put in a back room with no music, a greasy floor and close enough to the smoking area that the smoke was coming into the room. My wife and I live 40 miles away. 40 MILES!!!! We met for my daughter’s birthday although she did not want the singing and desert. Our food was for the most part very good. Except my wife ordered the Jack Daniels Steak and Shrimp. The shrimp was supposed to be grilled. It came out fried. There was supposed to be a side vegetable but there was none. She did not complain and just went with the flow. Our waitress was very nice. Our bill with a 20% tip was $95.24. With economy such as it is, this is a lot of money! We had finished eating and received our bill, and we were considering having desert or doing something special for our birthday daughter and did I mention a 20% tip for SERVICE!! What we got was (he didn’t introduce himself – I’m guessing a manager) a quick “I’ve got another party coming in at 8 pm and I need this table”. What about “Can I get you anything else” or “here are some coupons for you next visit. If you are finished we’re very busy and I need this table for a large party in about 10 minutes”? We really felt like 2nd class citizens and were being herded out like cattle. We also needed to use the restrooms before leaving and because of the way were asked to leave did not and had to stop on the way home at a McDonald’s The manager gets a big U in table manners and customer service. Customers are the reason you are in business. No customer, no business. There is NO shortage of restaurants. We then went to Sonic and spent only $4.14 and got EXCELLENT service. They even asked us if we needed more napkins!
on yesterday 07/08/10 I visited the TGI location in Arlington, tx on Cooper during the 4pm hour. I decided to dine there with my father who came from out of town in order to spend a relaxing time with. I want to complain about the server who eventually felt the need to do his job and take our drink order after waiting over 15mn. this would have been a reasonble amount of time in normal circumstances; only during this time there was only one other group of people dining. the server was way out of line after we paid for our meal. We did not feel he deserved a tip at all because of his service. i won't get into that at the moment I will let our Lawyer handle that. This server brought our receipt outside as we were leaving and my dad said that's okay but thanks. (I have to say a server because he never made his name known to us) He then begin to make a comment about us paying for the food without leaving a tip so you can have your receipt. I told him he did not deserve a tip and questioned is that how you react when you don't receive a tip. But to top it off he sat outside when the other diners came out and begin to explain the situation to them. Disrespect-unprofessional and extreme racist is what this situation was and it will be taken further. If you allow this type of character to work in your establishment then you obviously don't care if you are sued.
Ashley lewis....this is regards to your comment.....YOU are all sitting at one table for one that makes you a group of people....if you are not a group of people then sit at diffrent tables....and further more learn to read the menu it is clearly posted on the menu all party's of eight or more a service charge of 18% will be added......and it is clearly shown on the bill you get before you pay....it clearly says 18% gratuity has been added.......and im thinking 9 people eating at fridays and it was a 20 dollar tip so your check wasa little over 100 bucks....JESUS PEOPLE i am so sick of people who want to go out and eat like kings and queens yet tip like peasants.....
My family of four ate at the TGI Friday's in Huber Heights on Sunday June 27. We met my brother and his son along with my sister and her two children. We sat at a booth which seated more than the nine of us that still had empty seats. The Friday's staff did not have to push any tables together to fit us, the booth was made for a larger party. We each paid on seperate tabs (myself and my three children, my brother and his son, and my sister and her two children. On each tab we were charged without and option an 18% tip for the "large" party we had. I always tip everytime I go out to eat. I am also a frequent visitor of Friday's along with my brother and sister. I did not appriciate being charged and extra $10.00 without the choice. It was already added to all of our checks when we recieved them. I am not one to complain at all even, but I am very displeased. Our service was okay, but not worth the twenty something dollar tip he recieved. I would like to state that if all three parties aren't reimbursed of some sort, Friday's will not have our business and we would be more than kind to let others know not to arrive in "large" groups. Money is already too tight to go out to eat often and we gathered for my brother's birthday, not to hand over free money to the waiter.
I visiteda fridays in monroe new york and service was really poor. I waited 7 minutes before I even was greeted, I waited 5 minutes for my drinks,10 to order, 15 before we received our appetizers and it was very slow in there. Everything was just horrible, inspite of me giving them chances all attempts fialed.I finally spoke with the manager and she then took her time responding to my feedback. This must be fixed and dealt with properly. My email is lesliecharged@gmail.com, u can contact me through email.
I have to say I just went to TGIFRidays . It wasd actually the NBA playoffs and the place was packed I mean packed ! Zero Stars really! I am an employee of Friday's in Richmond Va! Or at least I was until last Friday... I have woorked at friday's for 5 months and here is the run down on just how badly they run the place! Two weeks into my employment my GM received a phone call from an "anonomous" caller stating that I had a felony on my record. I was asked about it. Me being a very honest person didn't have to legally disclose this but... I told him that yes I was convicted and no it was no longer on my record. I was suspended until I brought back proof. I brought up my court order for my record to b sealed, much in the same way a minor's is sealed after thybecome adults. I was allowed to come back and within 2 more weeks received a promotion to shiftlead because of how hard I work and the team work that lead with. About 2 weeks a ago another person called up there and told then that she was "the mother of an 18 year old" that I had suposedly served alcohol too. But ths time picked the wrong night because I only had 8 tables the entire shift. ANd two days later I recieved a phone call from the person bragging how she called up there and how was I liking unemployment. So I was suspended to "confirm. Again no proof whatso ever but a phone call. There's no guest check, nonothing to say that I did serve a minor. I was fired based on serving a minor. Then he told me that the ABC wanted totalk to me...ok....but for what?? For the "other thing". the expunged felony. Now I ask you. If I served a minor, and the ABC board was helping clear that matter up, and if I actually did serve a minor, then wouldn't they want to talk to me about that?? Bu**SH**! I was fired because of a felony that I didn't put on my application, a felony which the courts have sealed, and I am no longer legally obligated to disclose, and a felony that he knew about 2 weeks int my employment and still brought me back and then promoted me!
