The nearest Steak-n-Shake to us was 100 miles away in Grand Rapids, MI on Alpine Ave. We made sure to go there as often as possible. When we were doing a Gun and Knife show in Kentwood, MI we researved our hotel room to be near the Steak-n-Shake. The services was always exceptional and the food was the greatest. On our visits out in New Mexico, we were disappointed that there were none in the area. We are now moving out west, but going to Florida first and as we were driving a huge RV, pulling a trailer, stopping at every Steak-n-Shake was not possible. After we dropped the trailer our first stop was Steak-n-Shake off exit 60 in Tifton, GA. What a HUGE disappointment that was. The server appeared as if we were bothering her and had NO Pleasant personality and it appeared that none of the staff wanted to be there. The food was equally disappointing, the fries(our favorite part) were stale and we think they were old and then microwaved. The Frisco, had little, if any sauce and the bread was not grilled and very soggy. For the first time in our life we did not leave a tip. We will try again at another location, but if the server acts as if we are bothering them, we will move on and locate a new favorite eating venue. Customer Service and food quality has certainly been sent to the wayside.After that incident the Stars dropped to a negative 5

My husband and I are senior citizens and we ordered Chili-mac for carry-out. We have been eating Steak and Shake food for over 50 years. After traveling across town to pick the food up we were both very disappointed! The chili-mac that they served to us was nothing like it use to be! It was just macaroni with some kind of flavored ketchup on it! No spaghetti sauce, chili, beans, cheese or meat! It looked nothing like the Chili-mac that is pictured on the menu. I wonder if the quality of the carry out food is always this terrible? After 50 years we will not go back! Shame on the company that used to be an all-american type "diner" for allowing the quality of their food to reach such a disgusting level! I now have my entire family and their entire families and friends boycotting Steak and Shake! The funny thing is you never know who will be judging your food and what connections they may have to your company!

The steak n shake in st. Augustine have a nasty new GM. And on top of that the store food isnt all rhat good.

Both my husband and I just think that you have the best fast food in the country. Please try to get a Steak N Shake in the Phila and South Jersey area. We always look forward to our winter visits to Florida where we visit numerous Steak N Shakes. We need one in our area, please........

i went one morning, a little after 7am. i ordered triple burger and large fries. the meal was decent. then after i wanted to try there shake. i ordered the butterfinger skake, the waitress gave me my shake then instead of giving me the spoon, she puts it on the dirty counter. the spoon looked dirty, i got another one. it was the WORST shake i ever had. i got towards the bottom of the cup and there was a hair. freaking disgusting. i will never go to that resturant. dont get their shakes. dont go here, go anywhere else besides this place.

I am posting this to inform all family members, and friends that have been so unfortunate to have to seek employment at steak N shake in Greensburg, Pa. 15601 At the Greensburg location there is an employee named Joe Z., the only Joe that is currently employed by Steak N Shake in Greensburg Pa. This Joe person is making lude vulgar comments to female customers and co-wokers, most of them under the age of 18. He openly braggs about the size of his penis, and states that he likes tight females. He gets on his knees and gestures with his hand to face asking for oral sex. Management needs to rectify this problem with this employee, and terminate his employment. I will be watching to see if this problem is rectified. If this employee is permitted act in this manner I can only imagin the legal battles for this employee and Steak N Shake.

I went into the Steak 'N Shake on College Avenue in Bloomington, Indiana at about 5:00 A.M on September 16, a Sunday morning, with a party of 6. There were about 3 tables already seated. My party waited at the "Please Wait to be Seated" sign for about 20 minutes with absolutely nobody saying a word to us, despite the restaurant appearing well-staffed. Finally, after getting aggravated with standing, we seated ourselves in one of the few clean tables. We were then ignored for about 40 minutes. We tried to get the attention of several of the servers but everybody acted as if they couldn't hear us. After an hour of zero service, my party left without being acknowledged a single time. I have been to several Steak 'N Shakes and the service has always been a little slow, but I have never been outright ignored before. I have worked in restaurants for over 5 years and cannot imagine pretending not to see a table of people that have been waiting for that long. I would not recommend this location to ANYBODY, and hope the waiting staff knows that my party and I are very generous with tips. However, we went to the Denny's down the street and tipped highly there instead, and will continue to do so from now on.

I was recently watching your super mom commercial. I was tatally disgusyed. My husband is our Fire Chief and has witnessed many accidents and most times they are dead when they run underneath a semi. I have complained to local restaurants but wirh no results. This sends a very dangerious message. The commercial has nothing to do with your food. Its great. Please consider removing this commercial. I was a Steak N shake employee for a little over two years and am now in the military i recently called my old place of business at Steak N Shake in Indianapolis, IN on 38th street and when the woman answered the phone said her name was Beth and I asked to speak to a manager she then stated that she was in fact the manager I proceeded to ask her for my information from when i worked there she then told me in a rude manner that it was her lunch break and did not discuss anything to do with applications on her lunch hour. After the times that i worked at Steak N Shake i have never been treated with such rudeness and believes that maybe steak n shake so look a little closer into who they hire as managers because as i see on this site this is not the first manager complaint.

I believe you need to check out your so called managers at the Rogers, Ar steak in shake. They fired my daughter for giving a customer a lemonade by accident. Really? I call and ask for Barrry, who by the way is the one who fires her for the stupid incident. She offered to pay for the drink but instead was fired. I call and ask for Barry, but he isn't there so I speak to Brandon. He was very short with me when I asked why my daughter was fired. He finally said he would go get paperwork and then put me on hold for about six minutes. He never intended to come back and talk to me. So I hang up and call back... Funny Brandon answers...steak n shake May I help you? Yes you can... I'm still waiting for you to answer the line that you have me holding on forever, which by the way you never intended to come back and answer. I explained to him that I was disappointed that he put me on hold and he was still short with me. I told him he could either explain exactly why my daughter was fired or I would talk to cooperate office. While I'm on hold I call my friend who is a lawyer and explain what Brandon had told me. He said ... If she offered to pay for the drink that it was not stealing. If we are willing to fight the reason she was fired he would be willing to fight it. Shelby said Barry was and has been looking for a reason, but I believe If your manager is willing to put me on hold for forever...is their reason a good reason???

Barry at your Steak n Shake in Rogers, AR needs to put his big boy panties on!! If he wants to fire someone then do it his self. At 60 something you should be able to handle firing someone on your own without having your other managers do it for you!! And as for Brandon if he tells someone he's going to look something up, do not keep them on hold forever and then answer another phone call saying Stesk n Shake may I help you? It can cone back to haunt you when you left someone on hold forever. My personal opinion..,you need to get good, honest, caring and considerate people working at the Rogers store. Firing someone for a stupid mistake and that person willing to pay out of pocket for it sounds to me like they were just finding a reason. They didn't even give her a copy of what she signed. Do not support steak n shake !!

On 9/15 we stopped at the #72 Steak n Shake in the Longwood FL area. We went there specifically because Angela W was working there as she had recently transferred there. As we were going in, she was coming out. We were disappointed and told her we came all the way from S.C. just to have HER for our waitress. She went back in and waited on us, waited 'til we were gone than left. That was so sweet! She is great! I hope you realize what you have in her!!! We live in the Charleston SC area...we need a Steak n Shake here!!!!!!

Went to Steak n Shake in Melbourne Florida tonight as have many times before. Tonight was not such a good experience though. Our food was brought out quickly but after that our waitress never checked to see how everything was or refill our drinks. When she brought our bill and sat it on the table without a word, we ask for a shake to go. After 20 minutes it was brought out in a glass not a to go cup (had to ask for one). We know it was the waitress not Steak n Shake. I imagine she won't last long.

This is not for a rating. I just would like to request a Steak and Shake be put in north lousiana. Preferably in Shreveport. We are a growing city and need some 24 hour restaurants, Steak & Shake is my pick. When ever we travel we try to find one Best burgers and shakes in the whole world. Please consider this request

I have enjoyed your restaurant for over 30 years. Recently I noticed that my steakburgers tasted different. Sweet, in fact. Suddenly I dawned on me that you changed your mayo and are using a product that contains sweetner. Folks, this stuff is awful and unless changed will cost a customer. Mike

Went to steak and shake in MACON, GA today and had a hilarious expenrience. Pull up at the drive thru and experience a caucassion fellow speaking in ebonics, i proceed to pull up to the window after ordering and i instantly receive my double cheeseburger which seemed odd, theyre supposed to cook to order not just give them out instantly. Well it was cooked to order come to find out my hamburgers were cooked for what seemed like 15 to 30 seconds on a grill. HAHAHA, now as i sit at work hungry and un able to eat my lunch i have no respect for the fool serving completely uncooked hamburgers.. Thanks buddy you made my day

In reference to your TV adv of Super Mom, I think it is despicable that your Marketing Department came up this this ad that would possibly entice a car full of teenagers to reinact this commercial. Who ever came up this this brain storm, should be fired.

Sunday I ate at the Huntsville, Al Steak n Shake around 3 pm. The waitress was a 10, the food was a 10 and the shake was a 10. It took 23 minutes to get the shake and 27 minutes to get the food. It was a great experience for me. I will be back.

September 15th, 2012 at around 10:30 am I went to Steak-n-Shake to order the #4 combo. I work at 11 so I was in a pretty big rush.... The person who took care of my food and handed it to me was name Sami. I was polite and nice to her and thanked her for her service. Here's where the issue came, when I was at work (after I took a few sips of the tea), I opened the cup and found a loogie in my drink. I am DISGUSTED at the mere fact that a person would even do that. I remember exactly what she looks like and this was at the Mall of Georgia training Steak-n-Shake (zip 30519). Please do something about this and enforce your rules. I don't understand why she did it but there must be a reason why behind the counters and if you are hiring these type of people, I don't ever want to come back.
