The spirit Halloween store in Cincinnati,Ohio located across from tri-county mall is awful. I went shopping for my sons costume and walked over to the dressing room waited for a employee to let us in dressing room . The girl saw us but decided to finish rating so I had my son try on his costume outside fitting room. He wanted to see what it looked like and the only mirror was.in dressing room so I told him to go look and come back out. As he exits the employee walks over and slams a ladder behind me almost hitting me and says do you need.something. I told her no we are done but thanks. My son and i were in the middle of the store when I heard her talking about me to a male employee that has been sitting there the entire time doing nothing while there are tons of customers in the store. I walk to the counter and asked her if there was a issue because I heard her talking about me. She saif do you not know how to read the signs do not enter. I said yes but u were to busy eating to help us that's when the male employee starts telling me I better never approach them like that as he tools his eyes. He begins to get loud and I say we will buy are stuff at another store. I ask for a manager she says I am the manager. I said do you have a corporatw number she tells me no then tells me of I dont leave she will call the cops . I am so upset with this store I left and found a corporate number. This store is a joke and should be shut down.

Spirit Halloween stores conduct their business on a profit basis only with no regard to the employees or customers. In these economic hard times when customer service should be the backbone of any profitable business I am disgusted with the display of carelessness in the Clovis and Fresno California stores. Halloween can be bought with pride elsewhere. Take some heart in family values and avoid supporting these stores. Zero stars wasnt an option...

I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE STORE IN VERO BEACH FLORIDA, THE MANAGER LISA IS HORRIBLE, I HEARD HER CUSSING IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS AND HAS A RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE. THERE WAS OTHER EMPLOYEES THERE AT THE TIME THAT WERE LAUGHING, SMILING, GREETING, AND SO VERY HELPFUL I JUST LOVED THEM, THEY ARE THE ONLY REASON I WOULD EVEN GO BACK. THIS YEAR THE STORE LOOKS HORRIBLE AND SMELLS LIKE NASTY FEET!

I don't know what's wrong with the rude unprofessionals you have working in your stores. In Weslaco Tx. There is a rude worker who came up to friend who had all the intention to buy costumes for her 5 kids and herself(she loves Halloween) and the lady tells her that she has 5 minutes to browse and then she has to leave.!!! It was 1:20 pm. Not shopping for Halloween there and we are sure to tell all our friends and family(which are alot!!) To not go anywhere near there. So your employee cost you good customers to take their money somewhere else!!!

Well I've shopped at Spirit for many years in the south bay area (CA) and have never been asked to leave my purse. As for zombie babies, well I'm not a fan either but they are a part of the ghoulish side of Halloween. I just called the customer service line about a problem I had with the costume I ordered and I got great service. No complaints from me. PS my 4 year old is horrified by the scary stuff so thank you for keeping the kids costumes in another area.

I worked for spirit hallooween in Knoxville, Tn last year and never recieved my pay check they were supposed to send to me. I have been trying to get it for a year. I'm furious, and based on the previous complaints this corperation needs to improve customer service and improve there bussiness.

Sexist? No. Sexist would be letting women in and denying a man with a bag. Sorry but I know Spirit and I know how much of a problem theft is in the stores. Women if you want to be treated equally, then think about what equality means. If a man came in with a bag he'd be turned away...just like you. And as for boycotting a store because of a personal tragedy involving the loss of a child...absurd. Good luck with that. It's not like they have aborted fetuses in jars, or babies on pikes (as amusing as that would be) They are zombie babies. They're not dead, they're mutated babies. Not dead babies. Get over your grief and let other people have a good time.

i buy a lot from this store and i love the zombie babys i have 6 and always love them me and my hubby love this store we have great service every time we love frightland.com this is how i was into the zombie babys my son asme for a brother or sister i got a new zombie babys said there u go son lol thank you halloween spirit!!!!

Wow, what a different experience I had. I was in the Stockton, California store and have been for 5 years and buy every year there and the service is great. I have 6 children and moved here from Michigan and buy all my costumes from SPIRIT. The owner has been wonderful and i returned items even after the date they displayed, "No Returns after the given date" He said the sign said that but he puts the customers first and places himself in customers shoes. So, all I can say is hats off to the Spirit Store in Stockton. And great Customer Service ALL the time.

I will never set foot in a Spirit store again...I was a manager for a season back in 2006. The owners (a married couple) of that particular store (as well as another one across town) were ABUSIVE...not only to me, but some of the people I hired, as well as the manager and some of the employees of the other store. And they paid us jack while the guy drove around in a Cadillac SUV and owned a few different homes on each side of the country. Any j hole can decide they are going to open and run a Spirit store, all you need is the money to get it going. There are corporate policies they have to follow and people they have to answer to, but by and large they can treat their employees any way they want and get away with it. I realize that this site is for customer complaints, but I thought you might want to know that Halloween sucks from the employee side, too.

In reading some of your post it seems as the same person or one store that has poor management. As for the returns, just think about it. You have a Halloween party two weeks or more before Halloween buy your costume or prop and return it. Claim its defective or a doesn't work. I have been shopping in the store several times and noticed each time people returning items. One instance it was someone who had a party the weekend before and they were returning the hell raiser and other stuff. I overheard the manager ask what was wrong with it and he said they didnt work. She plugged them in and they worked, about that time someone walked up and said that was a great party last weekend, I wondered where you got your decorations. The manager looked at him in disgust and said "seems to be working now and it worked for the party" he just took his stuff and left. My point it is a seasonal store, like christmas decorations, we buy the shit just to use it once and store it. If you want a costume or prop that last, purchase elsewhere, this is a seasonal store. They have great buys after halloween.

Spirit is a awsome place to pruchase costumes. I was an employee for them in Colorado. I must say,though..some changes need to be made how they run their company. It was very horrible when we had run out of stock...so a good example of few would be that they need to corporate needs to have better communication. communitcation is key. Another issue that i would REALLY REALLY REALLY love to adress is the fact about purses, I notice to many complaints on this one site alone. well, my dears, in the retail industry, it is very IMPORTANT to keep track of our assets. we have underdone so many shoplifters it is so bad to where YOU WILL BE STOPPED when you are carrying around big totes, etc. When the theft rate goes down, then of course, policy will change, but reality hurts because theft is getting worse each day. Spirit Halloween associates are limited. the individuals in the store, however, are unlimited. in other words, they do not have enough people to babysit you all.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY ORDER CAME LATE,IT ARRIVED AFTER MY PARTY. THEY REFUNDED MY SHIPPING RIGHT AWAY NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME IT TAKES FOUR WEEKS TO GET MY REFUND FOR THE PACKAGE. THEY HAVE HAD OVER A WEEK TO RETURN MY MONEY. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS RUDE AND THEY REALLY DON'T CARE!

THIS YEAR I PURCHASED THE LAUCHING VAMPIRE AND THE HOLVRING GHOST. BOTH DISPLAY ITEMS..MY PARTY WAS NOV 6..NEITHER ONE WORKED..THE VAMPIRE WOULDNT MAKE A SOUND AND THE GHOST WOULDNT MOVE UP AND DOWN. I SENT OVER 300.00 BUCKS IN SPIRIT THIS YEAR. NO MONEY IS NEEDED. BUT WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A REPLACEMENT ON BOTH PROPS..LOVE THE STORE.

October, 2010, My husband and I were perparing for a Halloween party / Charity Event, We decided to shop at Spirit Halloween Store at "The Festival Shopping Center" in Anaheim Hills, CA 92807. We purchased over $2,600 on props, customes, prizes, etc. Once home my husband began to set up Uncle Charlie an Animated Clown Prop, ONLY to discover not only was the clown broken so was the "Faceless Clown", "TWO BROKEN Graveyard Ghosts", "One Swinging Vampire" and "Two Fog Machines". This is approximately $700.00. We were back in the store withing 2 1/2 hours from the time we purchased these items. We enter the store went directly to the register with ALL BROKEN merchandise and receipts in hand ONLY TO BE TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was by the superior "MANAGEMENT" Team Spirit Halloween has!! I cannot post their names at this time. Spirit Halloween had dozens of the same items to exchange for us. Spirit Halloween District Manager did not return my calls! I dont know about you, however, In our opinion, Any merchant who would take your money and sell you BROKEN Merchandise and REFUSE TO MAKE IT RIGHT with a simple EXCHANGE should be OUT OF BUSINESS!!! This is STEALING!!!!!! We were working very hard to raise money for HUNGRY Childern & Families and Spirit Halloween not only refused to sell quality merchandise upper management is far to busy to return calls or help us when their store has refused to make things right!!!!! We have witnesses ( 1 store employee and 3 customers who gladly gave us their contact information). On a positive Note: Halloween Club on Santa Ana Canyon Road, Town in the Country Center in Anaheim Hills, by Rite Aid is an awesome store and will exchange any broken item or refund your money.... They have quality merchandise!! PS......... Spirit Halloween Corp Office Also will NOT return a phone call!!! These "Executives" must be very important!!
