I don't think I've ever had a bad experience at a Sonic, I've been going for 20 years, I have never even written a review for somewhere but today I will. Maybe it's my hormones my pregnant self is producing but I had the worst experience ever today. I waited 8 minutes after I pushed the button to order and to be greeted, after the lady on the other side took over 5 minutes to understand my order of a #1 with no tomato and a small hey batter blast, it then took 27 minutes to be delivered, yes 27 minutes!! Was not aware I ordered a well done 18oz steak. After I finally got my meal, still not mad. I started with my fries, they were ice cold, so if it took 27 minutes to get my food, were the fries sitting there for 26 minutes? Anyways, still not that upset, I started to eat my burger, which I found to have meat and cheese only. This is where I get mad. If that is not how your burger comes, why would mine be served that way? I came here because I specifically wanted the diced onions on my burger, I'm pregnant and wanted my onions. I haven't even touched my sonic blast yet, which didnt come with a spoon, suprise suprise, almost afraid to. But I have never been so upset over food before, this is just ridiculous. While waiting I heard many other cars around complaining and repeating over and over again their order, I don't know what happened here today, but it makes me not want to come back to this location ever, which is the only one close. Temecula, California location on June 20, 2012
The sonic in Lancaster Ohio is unbelievable!! Their fries are nasty greasy and undercooked The burgers are over done sometimes dry and Burnt the service is slow and the people are rude
I am writing about the Sonic in Rockwall, Texas on Hwy 276. There is an employee there with the name "Tiffie" on her badge who brightens my day every time I use the drive through. Even under high-stress busy times I have NEVER seen her without a smile on her face. She always has kind words to say, is professional and courteous. I searched online for a place to compliment her because I feel she needs a special recognition. Don't let that one go! :)
WORST SONIC EVER!! THE SONIC IN ODESSA, TEXAS OFF LBJ PARKWAY IS SO BAD IT HAS OFFICIALLY MADE A REPUTATION FOR ITSELF IN MY HOMETOWN OF DALLAS,TEXAS! I was so put off at my many attempts to go to Sonic when I first moved here (this one is the closest to my house). They rarely ever responded to pushing the order button in less than 15 minutes. When they did, it would take another 25 minutes to get your order. Then it would be COMPLETELY wrong. No cheese on cheeseburgers (but charged you for it), sweet tea instead of unsweet, fries instead of tots. I recently tried to go again (haven't been in 6 months after the last experience). The girl taking my order literally was the worst order taker I have encountered here. All I ordered was a jr cheeseburger (which I specified by itself) and an unsweet tea. She asked me for clarification 3 times. "A burger?" "No, a cheeseburger." "A regular burger?" "No, A JR CHEESEBURGER." "You want it with cheese?" After this exchange another vehicle pulled up and requested a large order...chicken strip dinner, foot long coney, and several drinks. I waited and my amount never came up on the screen. After 15 minutes they brought out all of his food while I sat there and still don't even know if my order was put in. I ended up leaving after waiting and seeing a bunch of employees just standing around in the entryway talking. So I was not surprised when I went home to Dallas and someone said they had tHE WORST experience at Sonic in Odessa. I asked which one and they confirmed this location. They said they couldn't get anyone to answer the order button for 15 minutes. Then got out to see if it was broken and saw an employee mopping and turning off the system everytime they pushed the button. When a manager was contacted they did come out and take an order. It was sent back 4 times for being wrong. All I could say was I knew it was the worst Sonic on the planet, and I don't go to them anymore because its always such a terrible customer experience. I have also decided to make mention of it in several avenues, hoping that someone from this franchise will care enough to do something about it, but knowing that is a long shot. Hope to move somewhere with a decent Sonic one day.
Stop hating Sonic is the bomb! Down here in Texas is where we stay and we mean to take over. Love my customers, come by Louetta Sonic and see what it is really about. Btw there are two different ones, you will know mine when you get here.
I worked at sonic for about a week, and just quit today. The management was so poor, the assistant managers did not welcome me at all. They created a hostile environment for me and made me feel very uncomfortable. The assistant manager was training and told me and my coworkers that if I didn't like the way she did things, I could clock out and go home. The managers go outside to smoke cigarettes every couple of minutes without clocking out, but anytime I had to use the restroom I had to clock out. I workED at the sonic in the wells branch neighborhood in texas
I work at a sonic in baton rouge, LA and me and a few other of our best carhops we have ever had are quiting and many wanting to, after bringing in a new general manager a lot of things we were used to doing everyday have been changed. At first we all wanted going give it and everything else a chance before turning it down. After change and her bringing in her own people from other stores all far two carhops have quit. One worked there for 8 years and was amazing at what she does. The other three years and trained me when I came in. I have been with this sonic for 3 months and it's all going down around us. There is unfair treatment between new carhops and old. Today I got complained at by the gm because aplenty I was taking to long to get an order out when the Catholic she brought can take as long as she pleases. Which is not fair. A lot of the staff that was working before she came all wants to quit and we were all like family. I get held an hour later than I should be and get home two hours late. I love this job but I just cant take it anymore.
My girlfriend works at sonic in Oakdale, La. She likes her job but there are some guys there that have been caught stealing before and she told someone about it and they just got a slap on thr hand and now they know she told on them. They are harrasing her now and making her life hell. She doesn't know what to do. Javante is the main one harrasing her and I'm sick of it. He doesn't do his work has been caught stealing now is harassing her
One star is being nice, to the sonic in Cuero Texas. We ordered they didn't repeat it back to us. When they brought the order out to us all four burgers were wrong. I could understand one burger being wrong but all four burgers. Then when asked to speak to the manager, the manager said "he was to busy to come talk to us. I will never go to that sonic again.
The manager at The Sonic in Kansas City, , Kansas located across the street from the NASCAR Track just reprimanded me for searching for pennies in his parking lot. Although I had just spent $10 on ice cream and left the waitress a tip, the manager was uptight that I found six pennies in his parking lot. he asked that I never return to his business. He threatened to call security on me and I told him that I would patiently wait for them. He never did call them because he knows they would not care. How can a manager keep a clean nicely dressed paying customer from walking next door? is there a rule at Sonic that says I have to sit in their chairs? Most days, we tailgate....it's summer and I am active.....sorry he isn't.
There is a Sonic location close to my home and office in Okla City, OK. The convenience is great, but the hamburgers (which now you get w/ a piece of chemical cheese for an extra charge)are ALWAYS cold. The fries and/or tater tots are usually cold as well. Today I forgot and stopped there. I was afraid to send my food back-- not only was it cold, but was w/ mayo instead of mustard-- I may of received a burger that had either been spit on or nose blow. I am a senior citizen and I won't be going back to that Sonic. After reading other posts here, not too sure I would visit other locations either. Sonic!! What happened to your quality?
I worked at the Sonic in Moberly MO until recently when I was let go because I supposedly had an attitude. Just less than two weeks prior to being let go the same person who terminated my employment and I were talking and he said he had no problem with my attitude and would love to make me an assistant manager if my availability were better (In the 2 months I worked there I took and passed all the store certifications up to and including the assistant manager courses. I am a law student and have worked in the food industry while going to school because it allowed me the flexibility I needed in my schedule. I told them when they hired me that I would be starting an internship in May, and was told that was okay, after I changed my hours for my internship, my hours were cut even though I told them several times I could work any hours the 5 days that I was available, I needed Tue and Thurs off for school (not peak days of the week in any food establishment) I spoke to them again the second week, to no avail, and I worked that Monday of the second week off Tuesday Wednesday was sent home an hour into my shift as they were slow, off Thursday and Friday I was terminated for having an attitude??? I hadn't even been there, where do they do that at??? At the Moberly Sonic!!!! While I was there I encountered numerous times that myself and other employees were called off before their shift started, so they could make labor, then they wonder why they cannot keep employees??? People want to work so they can make money ~ you cannot make money when you cannot work. They sent all the low paying employees home and kept all the high paid managers in the store when you are trying to cut labor send some of the higher paid people home ~ it costs more to keep them ~ duh. The managers constantly ran out of products because they cannot order correctly, we constantly ran out of straws, cones, bananas, spoons, there were many times that we ran out of whipped cream, cheese, tortillas, toaster oil was diluted numerous times with water to make it last until we got truck. Poor management skills is an understatement for a majority of the managers at this store, numerous times the general manager of the store would ask me what I thought about other employees and their work performance, and once even asked me about one of his managers. I found this startling I am an entry level employee and you are asking me about other employees, it turns out this is pretty common there and it is done almost to pit employees against each other.... very bad for morale, the managers will talk badly about employees to other employees, just all around unprofessional. I was a very hard-working employee and probably the only employee that had ever become certified in all areas so quickly with in 5 weeks I was able to effectively work in all positions of the store from cook to carhop switchboard and ice cream I could do it all.... They lost a valuable employee and a customer ~ I will not ever spend a dime in that place. I am extremely disappointed all around with a store that was supposed to be such a great place with it being under new management ~ it might want to try again in my opinion.
I work for sonic in sikeston Missouri ( in front of Walmart) my general managers name is Summer. I am quitting today because the other night I was working. Everyone I work is on probation and do drugs. I understand people need to go make a living but that night the manager that was on duty was smoking weed IN FRONT of me and customers. Everyone smokes weed or comes to work drunk. I am a teenager. I don't do drugs or drink. I love sonic and I don't believe all sonics are a unhealthy working enviorment. The people are nice and funny but drugs are not good.
The location in Waller, Texas is a complete joke. I tried to complain and got a very rude email in response from the area supervisor, Jay Hill. He told me I was a liar and threatened to ban me from the location. My friend told me (prior to receiving this email) she had called and complained and got the same response--I didn't really believe her because I couldn't imagine someone in customer service would act that way. I figured she was exaggerating; I BELIEVE HER NOW. I have looked everywhere online to try and find someone above him to complain to but have had no luck. There is no reason in trying complaining to the website because they just forward the complaints to him and accuses everyone of lying and does nothing about it. I have been a loyal sonic customer, getting a drink nearly EVERYDAY. Not anymore.
The new menu has no hamburgers....just cheeseburgers and you charge more even when I don't want it. How wrong is that? I like the other guys idea. If I have to pay for it, the flies will be eating it as it is stuck to the menu! The new menu will have cheese. The sidewalk will have cheese. If you charge me for something I don't want, it will cost YOU just like it cost me. Hopefully the lost business from the unsanitary smell of rotten cheese will help Sonic see how foolish and greedy they have become...and reading these posts on here really indicates a bigger problem.
I recently quit working at the Sonic in junction City, Kansas for many reasons. Mainly because I was being degraded by the MANAGERS, and there was no order or control in the store. there are just as many managers as there are employees and the managers are all related. They're constantly giving away free stuff to their friends and their tickets are ALWAYS late (10-20minute tickets). When I moved here I was so happy that I was able to apply at Sonic because I had worked at a sonic in Terrell, Texas when I was in high school, just a couple years ago. The sonic in texas is very strict and has a structure like you wouldn't believe, they had regular schedules and everyone communicated about everything. The managers managed and the employees worked. However here in Junction city, the managers constantly talk crap about their employees and have no sense being managers! They can't even make a weekly schedule because everyone quits because of how horrible it is. There store is disgusting, and I've caught MANY times them making shakes and blasts without cleaning the machine, making it to where strawberries get into chocolate shakes, this I know is a big no no. Not to mention many people have came back to complain about hair in their food because the cooks and managers don't watch where their hair is. All in all I would never recommend anyone to work at this store.
My name is trina colman and i love the sonic in memphis tn on mendenhall great carhops i just wantex to thank this one car hop she know who she is i get her eveyday morning about round 6:00am she always so sweet i call her swwet heart she is a great worker and always makes me smile
today I went to sonic for the first time in forever since i was craving a popcorn chicken salad. to my dismay I find out they are no longer available on the menu. I loved Sonic popcorn chicken salads they were the best, why remove them?
This would be a 5 star rating if you still sold sweet potato tots. The limitied time thing is BS and that is the whole reason I went to sonic today and am dissapointed that they are no longer available.
For some reason whenever I go to Sonics and pay cash, the change I get back is always incorrect. This seems to happen especially when the manager themselves is providing the service. It is only a few cents off but on the receipt always says what the change should be. I brought it up to the manager's attention and all they said was "my bad" and gave me my 7 cents back. But when I thought about it, if they accidentally give back incorrect change to each person that turns to dollars a week that they could potentially pocket. Today 6/20/12 I went to sonics drive thru to order a half off shake small shake that was priced on the menu for $2.39 and the totally then gave me was $1.92. I
