I, like many people here, would also insist on a Zero star rating. Instead of "poor", I'd prefer "Horrendous!" My experience is from the employee perspective. I've been working with petsmart going on my 4th year as a groomer. I LOVE my job and built up a very awesome clientele. There are two people who worked with me who cause a lot of drama and harass all the groomers until they either quit or get fired. I lasted, going on 3 years with them, until I had enough. They started sabotaging my equipment and stole from me as well as some of the other new groomers there. With no proof I was out of luck. Finally, after being treated unfairly for the last time, I walked away. Since then I've learned that my manager has been spreading my personal business around with the other stores, about me and my private life. This is a very awful place to work, they are nice to your face but are a very judgmental group of people. The location of this store is Vestal NY. Never go there to work, you'll end up like the rest of us. Honestly. And always my word of advice? "Nothing will change here, but you."

I would just like to say that the Petsmart in Rio Grande NJ is nothing short of amazing. Everyone there seems to truley enjoy their jobs and the animals. Everytime I needed help or had a question the employees made sure I was taken care of. I sadly moved away and there isn't a Petsmart close to me. I always find myself wishing there was one because I have yet to find a pet store that comes close in comparison.

I bought a filter for my daughters turtle /fish tank along with other supplies ($384) got home and one light was missing from the box, hassled me to exchange, two weeks later filter and pump broke, I cant find my receipt, went to the store they said corporate would have transaction receipt, called corporate they told me store management would have copy, trying to get an answer for three days now. so I am supposed to go without a pump and filter till????

First of all, I have been spending $300+ to about $500 per month at my local Petsmart. This 5 star rating is a best average for the Grand Junction, Co store at 2428 F Road, before the new change in personel and management. To be fair, this present store would not deserve even a one star. I am a very physically disabled customer. The previous manager and personel at this store always helped me load my shopping cart, and after buying your products, loaded my vehicle for me. Now the very thin surface of friendly helpfulness quickly gives way to any inconvenience, and is followed by a hard-nosed blocking for the customer to even see or talk to the manager. Also, the store closes before the stated business hours (as in today, and at other times). As a physically disabled customer, I have always wondered why Petsmart has never had battery operated carts for disabled people to travel your large coated concrete floor. The additional pain I always get from shopping at this petsmart is something I would only do for my pets. In the past I have pushed myself through great pain when I was in the military in the combat zone and when I was a Tae-Kwan-Do tournament fighter. I shouldn't have to endure this much pain just to go shopping after receiving my physical disabling injuries. Other large stores with hard floors have electric carts for disabled customers to shop in. I am seriously thinking of searching other stores to buy my pet products in, and going to those places for any of the desired products for my pets and service-dog, even if I have to pay more or travel further to shop at these stores. A couple weeks ago I bought some heavy items for which I was offered no help loading my cart and then I was refused loading into my vehicle. I ended-up leaving these items in the parking lot, after a absurbly lone wait in great pain. I was able to contact the manager by phone, and he (Rob) said that I should come in the next day and see him personally. Since then, the employees have made sure that I could not see this new manager (Rob). I have not received these items I paid for and I have not been refunded.

The service isnt the best but my dogs always come back clean and happy. I been going there for 3 years and never had a bad experiance. But i only let one person do my dogs. We been friends for 7 years and i call and make an appointment shes the best groomer petsmart has!

Thanks to all the wonderful workers at the Hickory, NC store. Lisa Goersch is magic with the dogs, patient beyond belief with owners, and always willing to help with great advice. Tim (manager) also has Golden Retrievers and is so supportive also with valuable advise as to best toys and treats. I took my dog to get groomed for the first time and the grooming staff patiently reviewed procedures and worked with me on grooming styles. Reluctantly I left him with these strangers and a few ours ours later returned to a beautiful happy well groomed dog. Thank you all for your patience and support. Friendly knowledgeable employees are the reason I return often to spend LOTS so money on dog/cat/fish and classroom pet items. Petsmart's most valuable asset: their employees. Keep them happy and they will continue good community relations; good profits. Tanks again to trainers, managers, cashiers with treats, groomers. You all work hard and I appreciate it.

I use to take my dog to the groomers at Petsmart until recently. Its usually tough to get an appointment that fits in my schedule so when I finally get an appointment and I show up, all the workers had major attitudes and are very rude. The groomer then tells me that my dog should not have been scheduled because in his file it says that they need too groomers to groom him. I asked well why was I scheduled when 2 groomers werent going to be there? Instead of her trying to resolve the problem her tone was nasty and then she ends with " I can try to get him done but if I can't finish he will be half done!" WHAT KIND OF SERVICE IS THIS?! PetSmart WILL NOT GET ANY OF MY MONEY!!! EVER!!!

out of all the the people who work at petsmart, how on earth is it that they can't get their payroll correct. You work there for a month and to this day I have not gotten my pay, I have gotten oh they told me this and they said to do this and that and to this day no pay....what is the point. It is illegal to not pay people and they have to give me my pay. I would never work for an organization who seems to care more about pets then they do the well being of a human. No one has any idea how sick I am feeling right now. You have a worker, working hard and then you don't pay that person or you say something went wrong and everytime that person is trying to get their well deserved pay, they are saying something else. I am so done with this company and I will never recommend anyone work for petsmart at all

Re:store#1041 at 91st and Peoria, Peoria AZ. my name is Nikki. I was a bather in the grooming salon for a little over 2 yrs. I had been a very loyal and hardworking employee dedicated to my wonderful dogs and customers. Petsmart fired me on June 8 2012 for being late to work 4 times in two yrs. I'm devistated that this has happened! ! I have many request dogs of which I love dearly. Many of which have either very shy, nervous, or some even aggressive personalitys. I have worked very hard with these dogs. .and the outcome has been phenomenal. They loved to come see me and be groomed. Many of them only I could touch. I can't emagine how devistating it will be for these dogs to go in the salon to find a stranger who doesn't know or care about them the way I do. Petsmart claims to be one of the top companies to work for. What crap!! They allow people to work there who are mean to the dogs..rude to customers. .And horrible to other employees. But thy fire their top bather for being late??? Nit a very bright company.

I live in Richmond, KY. A dog named Angel was taken from its owner by a Pet Smart employee. The employee alleges that the owner "abused" the dog by hitting it with a rolled up newspaper. The employee also alleges that the owner assaulted her with the same newspaper. Ultimately the owner was forced to sign surrender papers relinquishing Angel to Pet Smart. We are a nation of laws. Only a court of law could determine if it is abuse hitting a dog with a rolled up newspaper. Pet Smart is not a court of law. Abuse is different in everyone's eyes. I consider abuse to include choke collars and electrical shock collars. Evidently Pet Smart doesn't because they sell choke collars and electrical shock collars. I guess they draw the line though by selling rolled up newspapers. Under our laws, contracts state plainly that they are not under duress and are not unconscionable by either party. Obviously a 70-plus year old man with serious health issues was under duress. Pet Smart needs to return the dog to its owner and let a court of law sort this matter out.

this should not even be rate it will be a negative zero ( 3119 silverlake village dr. in pearland texas) the service is bad. The grooming department some of there people are not professional they do not know how to groom. they leave lines from the clipper on the dog, they do not blend well. i have complained and complained over the years and i still tried to give them the benefit of a doubt to go back the service sucks..

I certainly do not like the changes at the Grand Junction, Colorado, Petsmart. I used to be treated fairly and decently, but now there are new employees and management. The employees now do everything possible to prevent a customer with a complaint to contact the manager. I am considerably physically disabled. Although Petsmart here does not have battery carts for disabled people, I spend literally hundreds of dollars per month on my pet supplies, because of the brands I like and the help I used to receive from the previous manager and employees to secure and load these supplies into my vehicle. Now, I don't get help loading the heavy 25# kitty litter bags (forget the 40 or more pound bags) into my cart. After paying for the supplies, the obvious uncaring new checker acted like I was imposing on him greatly to get someone to load these supplies. I am not susposed to lift anything over 5 lbs. and even that carefully. The previous manager, Molly, used to help me load my pet supplies herself. She was always there to help. Now I had to wait, standing, in great pain while no one came to help me. I then told the checker that I would wait in my vehicle for someone to load my supplies. I recently had a knee replacement, and very recently had a spinal decompression & a vertibrae fusion. One of my ankles and arch is trashed: the doctors are waiting to fuze 15 bones into one in my lower leg. My wrists are bungles and one is needing a fusion with a metal plate. My other knee is trashed and is waiting on a steel replacement. I waited for about 15 minutes and then realized that no one was going to come out to load my supplies. Therefore I went back inside the store: in great pain because walking is almost as painful as standing. I interupted the checker and told him to get someone to load for me or refund my money. Even a couple of the customers offered to load for me, but by then I was angry. I got no response from Petsmart employees. I left, with my paid for supplies still in the cart in the parking lot. After much trouble I contacted the manager my phone. He said that he would take care of everything for me the next day. The next day I returned, but was told that the manager was not in. Now I do not have the needed supplies nor a refund; just a lot of extra pain and wasted gasoline.

I just stopped at Petsmart 535 Montauk Highway, West Babylon and I will be going back to do all of my dogs shopping at that location because of the manager Vinny. I saw him looking around the store and asking people if they needed help. He then came to me and I needed help fitting a collar on for my dog. He knew excatly what I needed and fitted the collar for her. Then he played with her and he made customers and store emplyees smile. He also helped me at the check out with other customers because the front line at the register became long. I got to check out quickly and smoothly. I left the store smiling. I go to a dog training school nearby and will recomend all to go there for their pet supplies. Thank you Vinny, for a great shopping and learning experience. Sincerely, Luann Johnson

Hi, I am a faithful Pets Mart shopper. I have 5 dogs now, I did have 9 4 of which I rescued from Hurrican Katrina. My dogs are like my children. I am not the kind of shopper that spends 20$. My dogs eat the best organic food, greenies and many other things. I have a 95lb lab, King Charles Cavalier, 2 T-cup chihuahuas, and one Pomeranian. In september of 2011 my 12 year old wanted a teacup poodle. I found a 2000$ puppy in charselton, South Carolina. A week before I was to pick him up my daughter and I went to the Petsmart in Slidell, la. and I paid for 2 private Training sessions , one for my daughter and her puppy and one for myself with another puppy I was suppose to get. That day alone I spent $886.57. That is not the first time either. I am from New Orleans but moved to Ponchatoula,la. bc I was openeing a business, I thought at the time that was the closest I was wrong. Anyway, the puppy died a couple of weeks later and it was a terrible mess. I then called the Pets Mart to ask for a refund and they said they couldnt bc I could not find the enrollment forms but I had the receipt. I looked and looked finally 5 days ago I found the enrollment forms . I call the Slidell store, spoke with the mgr christy and she said she could give me a store credit if I had receipt would be the only way I could get cash. I then spent another 5 days looking for the receipt, fin ally i have both the refund and the receipt. I call back and christy says that even with both now she cant help me bc corporate said so. This is not acceptable to me. I have spent a fortune with your co. and the one time I ask for anything I get the run around. I would like to speak to someone that can help me or I will never spend another $1 at Petsmart and I will tell everyone I know what has happened so they to stop shopping there. I had my dog groomed at the Petsmart on Jonesboro Road in Mcdonough, GA. Her appointment was a 9:30 a.m. and I was told that I could pick her up at 11:00. When I arrived to pick her up I was told she was not ready, this went on until 3 p.m. that afternoon. She is a maltese and I requested a teddy bear face and a short cut. She had the short cut but they shaved her face too! This made me upset. Also I had to pay extra for a flea shampoo, she came home still with black flea dandruff! she was shaking and didn't eat for days upon leaving there. When I called the mngr to inform of my fustration, I was told I had to take her back to the salon mngr. I work when she is there so that was very difficult. I had made an appt. to see her the following Sat. but didn't realize when making that appt. That i had surgery on that Friday so I wouldn't be able to make it. (I was extremely frustrated when trying to set that up). So when I called the following week and spoke to the asst. store mngr. again, He said that it's not his fault that I didn't remember I had surgery and the salon mngr. is on vacation this week. (Really smart@!#, I know you can't be responsible for my schedule!!) What he is responsible for is customer satisfaction and not putting me through the run around by making me bring my dog to see the salon mngr. when I don't want them to touch her again and just give me my $ back or a store credit! THAT WOULD BE THE RIGHT THING TO DO!!!!! Very Disappointed with my service and the asst. manager needs some training on more effective customer resolution!

your twinfalls ida general mngr put a cooking show of him on u tube the mngr under him asked your employees there what they thought of it they told him he then went to the general mngr told him he called in your employees on duty jop treatened them over his u tube vidio and made then leave his office that was not jop related may b this is why your general mngr at twinfalls ida store has been fired from every mngr jop in twin he has had

another concern over your twinfalls ida general mngr he is setting your co up for a civil suit on religion and employee harasment if you dont go his church you are not wanted funny the mngr under him goes his church you had better b carefull on the mangement u hire im sure there are lawyers that would b more than happy to go after u.

IF I COULD INSERT "ZERO" STARS, I WOULD. HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS. I LIVE IN SIERRA VISTA, AZ. I GOT HERE IN AUGUST 2011, AND I'VE SENT MY PEKE, CELINE, TO BE GROOMED AT THE PETSMART 4 OR 5 TIMES ON HIGHWAY 90. I WAS NEVER PARTICULARLY THRILLED WITH THEIR GROOMING BUT AS I DO NOT HAVE A CAR AND IT IS THE CLOSEST PLACE, I AM STUCK BRINGING HER THERE. ON MONDAY,MAY 21st, I BROUGHT MY PEKE IN TO BE GROOMED. THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE HER ON THE BOOKS, AND THEY WERE BOOKED THROUGHOUT THE DAY. APPARENTLY, ONE PERSON BATHED HER (AND SHE WAS STILL GIVEN TO ME DIRTY), AND ANOTHER GROOMED HER. AND OH MY GOD, WHAT A HORRENDOUS JOB THEY DID. I COULD HAVE DONE A BETTER CHOP JOB; AND, THEY LEFT THE MATT BEHIND HER LEFT EAR. I WAS SO ANGRY. THE STUPID GENERAL MANAGER OFFERED ME 20% OFF BUT WHEN HE SAW HOW AGITATED I WAS, HE THEN OFFERED ME 25% OFF. I WAS STILL NOT SATISFIED. HE SAID TO ME: "We groom about 5 Pekes." BIG F. DEAL. HE ALSO GAVE ME SOME CRAP ABOUT HAVING TO GIVE HER A SCISSOR CUT BECAUSE I WANTED ONE INCH LEFT. I WAS GETTING SUPER PISSED OFF. I LIVE IN AN APT COMPLEX THAT HAS A HUGE DOG COMMUNITY. NO ONE GETS THEIR DOG GROOMED AT PETSMART. ALL OF THE OTHER CUTS WERE MEDIOCRE TO SAY THE LEAST BUT THIS ONE SHOULD PUT PETSMART OUT OF BUSINESS. THE GM OFFERED ME A TWENTY-FIVE DOLLAR GIFT CARD. BFD. I WILL SELL IT TO SOMEONE AND USE THE MONEY TO TAKE A TAXI TO A BETTER GROOMER. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THAT STORE AGAIN. I HAVE A PETCO CARD.

ZERO STARS. REALLY. I have a Petco card on my key chain and that's where I am going from now on to buy food for my three pets. As far as grooming, I will go to someone who KNOWS how to groom a Pekingese.

On Saturday, May 19, 2012 I took my 2 yr. old Standard Poodle to the Petsmart Store #647, Clarksville, TN. for bathing and grooming. The groomer stated that it was only her second day working there. When I returned to pick up my male poodle, I found him with the worst grooming job I have ever seen. In addition my poodle had a 2 in. burn on top of h1s snout. I know that had to of hurt him very much. I have an appointment tomorrow morning at the same store, so that a more experienced groomer can attempt to straighten up this mess. After that I will never take any of my pets there for grooming, nor will I recommend them. There is no right when someone entrusts their pet/pets to you and they injured due to carelessness!!
