Horrible experiences at the San Carlos, CA Pet Smart Hotel. We kenneled our dog for a week - he contracted a severe kennel cough that went un-noticed, un-treated, and he attended "day-care" daily, exposing all the other animals when the vet was in-house 50 feet away. previous stay - the bedding was returned double bagged, completely saturated in urine - "we were too busy to wash it", never mind my pet was left in it all week. Think twice about the care your pet will receive. The manager, Markiss, defended the quality of care of both visits??

If I could give the pets hotel at the old town Scottsdale location A zero i would. What a freaking joke. Your staff there is atrocious. They don't know anything about dogs, and punish them if they bark too much or play constantly by crating them. My dog goes to another dog daycare that is wonderful, but when I need to take him somewhere close I used to take him to Petsmart. Almost every time here is some sort of issue such as they lost his reservation and literally just stand there like idiots saying sorry. Several times I go to get my dog and he is crated! His other daycare loves him and thinks he is a great dog. Petsmart your just another corporate run organization that really doesn't give a crap about your customers. You suck. I also will be buyingy pet supplies from petco from now on, you won't ever get my buisness again.

Hello all-- Let me start by stating that if it were posdible to give more than 5 stars, I would've done so. I live in Glen Burnie, Maryland (midway between Baltimore and DC). There is a PetSmart location very nearby so it is my natural choice location. I have 4 Shih-tzus and have only shopped at this location for years...it is the logical choice. That being said, in recent months, my experiences at this particular location have made it such that, we're this the illogical and LEAST convenient location, I think I'd burn the gas for the Glen Burnie location. Why? Sales Associate William. This young man is--hands down--the single most compassionate, professional, knowledgable, competent, patient, warm hearted, caring, and kind sales associate, ever. Ever. I recently "adopted" a turtle...having absolutely no idea of the expense associated with these otherwise affordable pets. I had no prior knowledge of their care, their behavior patterns, their wants or needs...the requirements to maintain optimal health... William was incredibly patient with me and educated me on turtles while effortlessly answering any questions I had. He made recommendations of products to keep her comfortable and happy, forewarned me of things I might encounter that would be both perfectly normal and easily remedied...and he never ever pushed more expensive or less practical products. In fact, he has only suggested reasonable items based on their efficacy and the basic needs of the pet, for their overall well being. Not a month after I purchased my Turtle Starter Kit, the basking lamp blew. This was pretty major seeing as 1) they are essential for aquatic turtle health; 2) These bulbs are supposed to last AT LEAST 6 months; and 3) Consequently, they are pretty expensive. Though I contacted the manufacturer of the faulty bulb/lamp and was assured a rapid replacement (another great customer care letter for another company at another time), my turtle still needed a lamp prior to the delivery of the replacements as it was essential for her health. Again, I returned to William at PetSmart...he had already helped me (again) a week prior with filter issues (who knew turtles could be so gross?) and he effortlessly directed me to the correct lamp for my turtle's basking needs AAAAND gave me a discount on the replacement bulb as it was WAAAY too soon for a bulb like that to blow. That wonderful, wonderful William.... Here's my point, if u haven't already gathered; William did all this for a TURTLE! A relatively low maintenance, uncomplicated, aquatic reptile. I never felt like my needs were less important or that my "pet" was any less worthy of quality love and care because she wasn't the typical furry companion...and believe me, I loooooooooooooooooove my pups! Which seamlessly leads me to my next experience with excellence at the hands of Sir William (he hasn't been made royalty, yet? Someone, get on that.). So, yesterday, at my wits end with the incessant scratching 3 of my 4 Shih-tzus have been suffering--and I really REALLY tried to remedy this myself with shampoos, oatmeal, flea/tick products and sprays--hey, I used to want to be a veterinarian, I've had DOGS since birth, I can handle this, right? Apparently not this time. So leave it to wonderful William to gently lead me to an aisle I somehow completely missed in all my prior efforts and--tho I requested a spray--recommend a small bottle of bright yellow liquid called Sulfodene located directly under the sprays I thought I wanted...and costing less than the aforementioned sprays I thought would make life easier. William said he thought the Sulfodene was better and was sure it would make them all feel a lot better. So, that was it. 5 seconds and again, William just waved his wonder wand of expertise and solved my problem again, without hurting my wallet. I LITERALLY enter the store SINGING the praises of "Wonderful William"-and I can do this cuz I'm middle school vocal music teacher. William never lets it go to his head. He's humble, too! He renews my every hope in outstanding customer care and I truly believe he deserves recognition and reward. He is the embodiment of everything any customer would want in service and assistance. He deserves to be showcased and spotlighted in every public venue so that others can know how to treat their customers.

I'm an employee at a pet smart in new jersey. My manager has hired one of her best friends as a groomer in our salon. The girl has no idea what to do half the time, she cuts dogs and causes customers to say they are not returning. She calls out more than anybody in the store and never stays her entire shift. The store manager that is her best friend lets her do this. And I know a company policy is do not hire friends because it effects morale. This has truly effected us all in the salon. So can you please do something because we are all seriously thinking about seeking new employment. And I love my job as a pet groomer I love working for petsmart but this girl is destroying our petsmart location. Our store is the Delran store. Please this is from the entire grooming and floor service department. And if you do anything please just pop up and don't say anything to anybody because you need to see how this fine company is being shamed by poor management and bad employees. Thank you

I'm an employee at the petsmart inndelran new jersey and i am quoting today.. Our manager Tammy is very unprofessional. She has hired two people that she is very good friends with and they both do what they want and pretty much call out whenever. If any of us other employees do that we will be written up or possibly fired. I'm not being nice about this I respect our company rules 100% but this is something that ha to be stopped. Y'all have to do something because this is effective all of us here at petsmart... And the groomer is the only one I know. And her name is holy she very unprofessional. She speaks with a very bad tone towards customers and she even asked me about a grooming selection I don't do that I am a sells floor worker. And I told Tammy about it and she yelled at me and said she will fire me if I said anything to holy. So maybe y'all should come tell Tammy she has to stop hiring friends and let this holy girl go. This is very very unacceptable... Please do something about this please... Thank ypu

I went into pet smart in Morrow, Ga today and I sent my 7 yr. old son to get an employee to come help us. I watched the employee the entire time but she did not see me peeping around the corner. My son said, "excuse me mam" 5 to 6 times and she ignored him. Finally she turned around with an attitude and snapped at him with her hip out and pointed her finger in his face and said, "excuse me sweetie I'm talking to someone right now!" I got upset and told him to come to me and we walked out the store. I went outside upset and I told my mom what had just occurred. My mom said that she felt the employee owed my son an apology for the way she spoke to him and sticking her finger in his face. When my mom went in to the speak to the manager, the employee stood there with a smug grin on her face and refused to apologize to my son. The manager then told my mom that my son and I were lying and that is was our word against her employee's. My mom explained to her that her employee should be careful who's child she disrespects because this day in age people are crazy and the next parent may not be so calm about the disrespect. The manager then got loud created a scene and told my mom that she made a threat and to leave the store before she called the police. My mom simply stated a true fact, she never threatened anyone. I feel like the employees and the management at Petsmart in Morrow, Ga off of Mt. Zion blvd. are rude and tacky and they have absolutely no business working in customer service!

I have been going to the pets mart in casa Grande. And i love it there all of the people are so helpful especially a guy named Chris he has answered many of my questions and has been a real help but sadly we moved so i can only vist every so often

Petsmart has tried to kill my two sharpies twice! Last week they went to the grooming salon for bath and brush. They came home with staph infections in their skin, oozing bleeding wounds that required immediate medical attention. They are both on antibiotics and pain killers and are very lethargic. This is not the first injury in the grooming salon however it will be the last. We also purchased the petsmart brand Simply Nourish canned dog food two months ago which caused both my dogs to get food poisoning. The uncontrolled vomiting and diarrhea all over my rugs was enough to make me angry when I found out my dogs were poisoned after another expensive trip to the vet. Im lucky they did not die after this ordeal. They were very sick and lost alot of weight. I have been a loyal customer for 10 years spending thousands of dollars in petsmart stores. Both my dogs have been to training classes, grooming frequently and have nearly all their food and supplies bought at petsmart for 10 yrs. After this most recent trip to the grooming salon I will never ever spend another dime at a petsmart store.

Hi , we would like to make a complaint about the female manager you have at the Houma, la petsmart. This woman is rude to her employees and our pets. We always used petsmarts grooming for all three of our dogs and bought everything for our dogs there. But since this new manager has taken control we will not be doing any business with the petsmart store . I'm sure you guys will lose more and more customers because of the manager. Good luck with her and the store !!!!

I live in London, Ontario. (Canada) I visited your Petsmart store # 1324 On August 15, 2012 at 4:00 in the morning my 2 dogs got skunked. I had visitors and didn't know what to do. One of my visitors suggested I see if I could get a groomer to clean them up. I had previously visited Petsmart for groomimg (I use the store regularly for purchases) and phoned to find out when/if the grooming opened. I found out via the message the place opened at 8:00 I phoned up at 8:00 and the person there checked I had the proper shots for the dogs on file. She then said I could take the dogs in right away. I jumped in the car and zoomed over. I was met at the door (as the store had not opened yet!)and escorted to the grooming area. The people there were VERY understanding and told me it would be no problem. I asked if I could have a regular grooming in addition to the 'treatment' as I called it. All was OK! They treated my dogs, and I had them back in less than 2 hours. They were very understanding and helpful at all times. As I have previously noted, I visited them once before, on March 7, 2012 and Amanda looked after both dogs then. She was amasing and made me feel welcome and that she genuinely cared for the dogs. On this visit, Megan looked after my dog Sparky, and Becca looked after my dog Lucky. Both dogs came out happy and clean, and not stinky any more! They even cleaned the shipping crate in which I transported them in to the store. I must note that during all my visits to Petsmart I have had great customer service. The staff always check if I am needing anything. I have no problem getting help from anyone and they are very willing to help me carry out stuff to my car. I have had beginner training for both dogs at this location. Both Cody Robins and Lorettas McGuffin were knowledgable and helpful with my questions and gave individual attention. I noted that people complain, but rarely compliment. I think this store is GREAT! Thanks

I am a new owner of a miniature shitzu. I adopted my pooch about 1 1/2 months ago. Decided to take her to the nearest Petsmart (Monmouth Junction, NJ) for grooming and had one of the most unpleasant experiences. ex: first time owner so I wasn't aware that the paperwork was not up to date, Former owner told me where my pooch use to be groomed (Petsmart in Union). The paperwork was faxed to this location and I was told I could bring my pooch in for grooming. Made an appointment. When I arrived I was asked if I knew the owners last name? They had this information when I originally drove to the store? Didn't have this with me at this particular time so I called the former owner and informed Petsmart of her last name. They made me feel as if I had stolen my pooch. I was cooperating with them and giving them the information they needed. The Mgr. told me that because of all the running around I was put through they would give me a $16.00 special (additional grooming). Made another appointment and when I arrived the attendant was not very friendly to my pooch, she started putting her hands all over her fur and my pooch snapped at her. My pooch has never done this before. Automatically, I was told she couldn't be groomed. I asked about a mussle and was told it could only be used for 20 minutes. I am sure my pooch is not the only one that has snapped at an unpleasant stranger. I asked if at least her nails could be taken care of and was told they couldn't use a mussle on a shitzu? It was obvious they did not want to take care of my pooch for whatever reason. I will never go back there nor refer anyone I know to this location. I am looking for another location that will not make me feel like a criminal.

i have just watched a video a friend of mine hot in one of your stores and i am sick to my stomach at the appalling conditions you keep your animals in. I have shopped at your store it opened and i will not be shopping there again unless you STOP the selling of animals in all your stores

I have been a loyal and partial investor since I spen a lot of money at PetSmart. I have had a PetsPerk card with them since they started years ago and have followed through as a loyal customer since I have moved from Dallas to Tupelo, MS. I went tonight to get some fish food and saw that there was a fish I wanted for my collection....there was no one around the fish area and I waited...and waited....and waited....I went to the registers and asked the only person visible in the store is she could page someone to the fish...I wished to make a purchase..she did and called the associate by name to please assist at the fish wall.....anyway after 3 pages over a course of 20 minutes I took my food to the register and they cashier apologized for no one responding and then she said there's my manager coming out of the office and she asked if I wanted her to page her to come help...I said "No y"all have already wasted my time and I'm not in the mood to go off like I should on the lack of customer service! It's sad when there were about 4 people in the office that she came from and only one poor cashier working!

You Really should look into the Store Management at Katy Freeway In Katy,TX... My wallet was left in the store at 559 you closed at 6. Once i realized I left it I called back frantically hoping to notify an employee to retrieve it. I identified the location and it was still in the same spot. I was assured it would be left in the safe so i could return and pick it up the next day. When I came in my wallet was returned missing all 150.00 cash as well as my check book. Another store employee witnessed the manager opening the wallet and observed the cash that was there. Now once it was locked away in the safe any reasonable person can conclude it was safe. WRONG! only management had access to the safe and NO surveillance ANYWHERE in the store It was an easy grab. Your management blew it off as if there were more important things to do as I called the sheriffs office to make a report. YES A THEFT REPORT AGAINST STORE MANAGEMENT ! Unbelievable. The police officer took the Store Managers Info and will open an ivestigation regarding the THEFT! Before the police arrived I requested that an "INCIDENT" report be written at which time neither manager seemed to want to do willingly. When I requested the information I was given a blank incident form and listed my information, they did not fill out anything. We the police officer went back in with me and I requested it, I was denied any form of any report basically walking out empty handed. SO NO REPORT BY MANAGEMENT AND NO SURVEILLANCE. I do however have a police report and will be pushing for investigations to begin immediately. If anyone has ever been a victim of identity theft knows what this entails knows what It takes to have to close bank accounts and request new cards. If Management is stealing from customers I can only imagine what they're doing with store Profits. I will be pressing charges PETSMART if This is not handled appropriately!

my friends and i are entering your contest every day. not one of us has won anything not even a coupon. we think this is kind of phony. has any one out there won anything? we are curious.

Very Disappointed with Windsor Square - Matthews, NC Pets Mart. I have been a customer for over 20 yrs at this store buying all of my cat & fish supplies, as well as seeing Banfield for all 4 of my cats. Tonight I attemted to return an Aqueon brand aquarium hood & light that I purchased on 2/23/12 for $44.99. The light doe snot work - we tried a new bulb & that is not the problem. The light is defective - I do have my receipt & wanted to exchange it but the new Manager on duty tongiht would not work with me at all, She told me I had to contact the Manufacturer, which means my fish will live in the dark for weeks. Obviously, aquarium products do wear out before the warranty & I have returned items in the past with no hassle, which is why I continue to shop there. They have lost a customer for life over $45. I can take my $$ to another pet store. Shame on you for hiring incompetent employees with no customer service skills.

I recently had a bad experience with Petsmart Grooming as well as the store manager. To make a long story short I needed to bring my dog to the vet after the groomer butchered her ear. I then spoke to the manager who didn't care. I then wrote to customer service after the store manager told me there was no one else to speak to (basically he was god). That was three weeks ago and still have not heard from anyone regarding my issue. Needless to say I don't shop at petsmart or use the hotel or the grooming anymore.

I don't have only one complaint against Petsmart....I have volumes!! Seven years ago...my German Sheperd Dog jump off my porch and caused a hairline crack in in lower back. My dog became unable to walk and get around...I had to carry this dog outside...and he laid on "WEE WEE" pads for his accidents. I was heartbroken. One evening...I was out of pads and drove to the West Wichita store. I was walking thru the store when I slipped in water that was leaking somewhere and running under the shelving. I broke my ankle...and laid there until an employee heard me yelling for help. The manager at the time, red-headed Carla, told me "don't worry about a thing...Petsmart will take care of your medical. We've had a problem all day with the leak...I told someone to wipe this up." Ambulance came...took me to the hospital...temp. cast until I could make it to the doctor in a day or two. Petsmart contacted me the next day to inform me "Petsmart does NOT cover accidents in the store...how do we know you didn't do this yourself for money?" The manager, Carla, then proceeded to change her story 3 times...to the point there was NO water....I was drunk...and I did this myself." I ended up having to put my dog, Joey, down. I HATE PETSMART!!!!!!!!! I have NEVER done business with them since and neither have my friends. I take great pleasure in bad mouthing this greedy, rip off store whose only concern is money. I hope they lose big time and eventually fail. I will be on the sidelines laughing. They never contacted me again ..... and I NEVER received an apology from them over my dead dog. I hate these corporations that are only in the business of making money over the safety of it's shoppers and the dogs..cats, pets they love. Boycott Petsmart!!! Dianne Crossno dragonfish@cox.net

I worked there and was fired becasue the store manager before took hours aways from teh stocking dept. when the new manager can in i was told and the assist rec better get clean up or we both would be fired. i had no training and was fire two weeks later. i meet with new mamager three times everytime he said i was doing good. fuck this com there don't care about people or the pets

I had a bad experience with Tony at the petsmart in Schererville,In. In my opinion he is not very customer friendly? I will shop at petco from now on.
