PetSmart, Visalia California Recently, we successfully completed our third consecutive training sessions, with our pet passing the “Canine Good Citizens Program”, with one of your trainers, Lori McCants. Too often as a consumer, we take for granted the excellent services provided, but find it necessary to tell you how pleased we were with the way Lori presented the material and worked with us on training our pet. As senior citizens, we have had dogs as pets for over 50 years, and have attempted to train every one for our enjoyment. These three sessions stand out as being “excellent” and will thought out. Lori guided us on how to correct behavioral issues by providing specific methods to reach our goal. Lori’s demeanor and approach had Kylie, our Golden Retriever and us, looking forward to attending class. We can not say enough to express our total satisfaction with your programs.

Dog discrimination

I recently saw on your website that bully breeds are not allowed to take part in your doggie day camp. I find this very hypocritical since you have stuff saying how you want to serve all animals and owners. I don't think you should be discriminating against breeds. You make your company sound ignorant and stupid I am very disappointed in your store now. I know there was a lot of talk on Facebook and you have lost a lot of customers due to your ignorance. Please rethink your decision on your day camp and do what your website says and serve ALL breeds. Otherwise stop false advertising. Thank you, sincerely a very disappointed (maybe soon to be ex) customer.

The Petsmart I work at, #279 in Conyers, Ga is wonderful.

I am a new Guide dog Handler, and the employee at a local Petsmart in Van./Camas area kept insisting petting my dog and no one (employee wise) stopped him. He was annoying. He did help me find a jacket for my new dog, but the moment i took the harness off to try on the jacket he jumped at the chance to pet her. I still said no and he threw a fit. PET SMART, your employees need to learn about when a customer says no petting my dog.... NO MEANS NO!! (written on behalf of blind hanler) thank you. (blind handler dictated letter)

I stopped by the San Bernardino store on my way home from Palm Springs, once I got home to Claremont I realized I was charged for two box of kitty litter I only bought one I called the store and of course he suggested I come in a get a refund when I told him I was 30 miles away. I asked if I could go to the closes store which is not all that close 10 miles away and he said sure have the store manager call me and maybe we can work something out. So I go and the store manager could not help he said it was not there store that made the mistake. I knew this but it is the same company isnt it. What happens to customer satification this manager could not make a $11.00 decision in order to keep a good customer. He took my name and was going to have the real manager call me. Well we will see how this is handled I may never shop there again.

I have recently taken my 5 month old yorkie to pet smart in mobile, al. and recieved very poor service and was disrespected by the staff and management. I had an 8:oo am appointment for a puppy groomoing and it was completed until 12 noon. I recieved a phone call two hours after dropping off my puppy, stating that I needed the rabies shot record. I would have been fine with that if the groomer would have told me that in the beginning. She and her staff assumed that we were trying to fraud the company by bringing in and adult dog in for the cheaper price of a puppy. I spoke with a manager after i brought the proper paperwork in and recieved the most horrible grooming job ever.My puppy still has hair in her face, looks dirty smell dirty and her claws are rough and trimmed incorrectly. I paid the appropriate fee, but was very dissatisfied. I feel she thought we were a black couple trying to get over. I would never return to petsmart, and i am willing to pay a higher fee at another groomer.

My name is Darlene, I have some knowledge of how your promotion from within works. I knew an individual who was up for a petsmart promotion rather 2 different people on two totally seperate occasions. On both occassions niether of the two got the promotion, and they were the ones who ran the department that they were trying for. Although the manager they hired knew nothing about the departmment, and they were from a different department. I found out the way you proceed with the process of picking them. You phone interview them, all along knowing nothing about the individual you are promoting or how well they work or run the department they came from. The store manager needs to be the one who hires the people into the department because she or he sees them day in and day out knowing the quality and effort that they put into their work, not someone from corporate who is never in the store or even sees how they work day in and day out. I think on both occasions petsmart made a big mistake. Actually the person who was picked had the girl who did not get the management position working under her for a year, but when the girl moved and quit, the manager who was picked from corporate did not know how to run the department and she quit soon after. All along she was not liked by anyone in the store or was she knowledgable about her own department the day she left. This impact hurts your company and things need to change or you will never get the right employees or prosper!

I hope something gets done with this. I have using petsmart grooming for about 8yrs and always bragged about how good they are. Until September 12,2012 my husband brought my yorkie in for a 12:30 grooming and he arrived at 12:20 they said it should be a couple hours 2 1/2 hours went by he called and my yorkie was not even started yet. He asked what is going on then after 3 they took him to groom him. When he came home he was shaved as we wanted but dirty not bathed. there were dogs done before ours that came in after ours. Very disappointed in that grooming. I think it might be time to look for another groomer so upset. my email is mbgray145@aol.com i would greatly appreciate some feedback on this. sinerely maribeth gray

Unlike the person before me, I LOVE PETSMART. However, even great stores do not always carry the best products. Please be advised that I purchased the Whisker City Catnip for my 6 mos. old Kitten. When placing the catnip in a toy, I noticed that stem material that had hardened was included with the catnip. The stem material was now like wood and very sharp and splintery. It took me an hour to sift the entire bottle of the product. I was shocked that so many sticks with sharp edges were incased in the product. Any cat getting any of these "sticks" in their throat, stomach, or intestines could suffer internal bleeding and die. I am a nurse. Please, PLEASE, remove this product from your stock immediately. Thank you for your time and attention. Meredith Rodman 09/23/2012

While visiting your store In Warner Robins, Georgia this morning I asked an employee about Zodiac Flea Spray for Carpets and Upholstery. This product had gotten great reviews on your website. The employee informed me "we no longer carry Zodiac products". I then asked her to show me where I could find similiar products and she did. Low and behold it looks like you carry a full line of Zodiac products. I also asked a young man about a turtle bowl and he was extremely helpful.

While visiting your San Carlos Store last week as I was visiting a dozen of our stores for my corporation, I observed one of your store managers, Marcus gossiping with another employee on the sales floor. This is not my business except that I am the president of a very large corporation, and Marcus was disrespectful to another manager in his conversation, in the middle of the store for customers to over hear. Marcus and another store employee were discussing how they would spend their bonuses, and how little the man recently hired would recieve, a man much older than themselves and how "stupid" he was. I also overheard him speak of the fact that he does not work overtime or off hours because he would sue Petsmart like his last job at Office Depot. He spoke of things that are sensitive at best, and confidential at most with a curt proceeding he is currently involved with. If this store was one of mine this manager would be instantly fired. On top of that I could not get anyone to help me with a lack of employees to cover the amount of business in the store that day. When I approached the manager, Marcus after patiently trying to get help finding a product for my Black Lab, I was told he would be with me shortly. He did atempt to help me after a 20 minute wait, and after he finished gossiping.

As we walked across the parkinglot to your store my little long haired mix breed pup stepped on a bright blue wad of gum that someone had spit out and had begun to melt in the immence heat. In feeling her paw sticking to the pavement she began to run around trying to get it off which just turned her into one big sticky gumball. Her wagging tail only served to get me stuck up as well. Inside the store a young girl, Ali, was washing the windows and saw the whole event transpire. She had a good laugh then patiently explained which brand of dish soap (!) to use to remove the gum from the both of us. Unfortunatly your store didn't sell it, and my pup was too young to have aquired her rabies shot, therefore too young to have your store bathe her. Ali then stopped what she was doing and gave us her complete attention from helping us with fitting the correct size of collar, to the correct size of milk bones, to checking us out herself. She is a huge asset to your staff at your Cerritos, Ca store! I thank her very much and my pup and I are no longer stuck up!

I have been a customer of the Altamonte Springs FL store for many years now and I could always rely on the store manager Michael Walder to give me a straight and honest answer. The store was always clean and neat and the staff friendly but in the past couple of months I can't believe how that store went down hill. No one knows what they're talking about and the store is a mess and I was told Mr Walder doesn't work there any more! I would like to go to the store he was transferred to because I know it will be efficien t and clean and I will get my questions answered by someone with knowledge instead of the idiots that now work in the Altamonte Springs store! AND who is this Jerry character the employees are so angry at? They say he ruined that store because he was jealous of Mr Walder who everybody loved and who could be counted on always. Why did you let that happen? I will not go to that store again or probably any other PetSmart store again if you people don't smarten up! I think Petco seems like a good option right now and so do a lot of my friends and other customers who also say the same thing! You guys will lose more customers if you don't smarten up! You had a gem of a store manager there and now he's not there! That Jerry person sounds like a real downer! In my (and others) opinion you moved the wrong person!!!

I live in reistertown, md and my husband & i went to the store in owings mills. only one cashier was open, so when the next cashier came to open he told my husband to come to him, as he was doing so another customer passes my husband and places all of his itmes on the counter as the cashier procedes to wait on him. when we get the cashier he begins singing along with the store music only stopping to say, swipe your card, here's your stuff. I can understand the ignorance of the cashier, but when i call the store to complain (it sure sounded like the cashier who claimed to be the store manager). I explain to him what i just wrote. His response. "oh." Oh??? what happened to to i apologize for the action of that employee? I had to initiate the whole conversation. is this the way you treat ALL customers or just the ones of a darker hue? the customer in front of me wasn't serenaded off key when He made his purchase, so why was i. That WASN'T THE STORE MANAGER, but the actualy person i was calling to report. I've been reading some of the complaints and agree with most of them. Your store/products are more than likely good itmes, unfortunately you hire a bunch of idiots who are distroying your reputation. Rudeness, indifference, racist attitudes, this is the year 2012 this kind of bs has no reason to rear its ugly head in business and you should be ashamed of yourselves, but of course you are not. the only thing you care about is the $$ you make regardless of how your customers were treated. you cant respect us but you have no problem accepting our moneies. larry robinson i whole heartly agree with your last line

Was going to transition my chocolate lab into thier banner plan But my only request was that they contact my previous vet and talk to them of my concerns with my pets history and not just ask for shot records. They assured me this would be done and of course it was not. The girl spoke broken english so possibly she did not understand my request but I guess then also would not understand the issues with my Lab. I told her several times to talk to them and her goal was to sell me one of the three plans they have to offer and she could have cared less about my animal or my request. I was actually in one of the exam rooms and told her when she came back a third time with no results that I wanted to leave as Im not comfortable with thier facility. She said OK and let me leave. Also you think she would have gotten a supervisor to help rather than letting me leave when I was about to buy two plans at 42 dollars each a month. If this is how they handle customers Im not sure I want to entrust my Pet with Petsmart. They are a huge company but so was Enron

Hello- I signed up for a puppy training class with store located in Fontana Store #1162. We were initially really happy to meet other parents and puppies. After going to 6 classes, my puppy did not learn but rather stressed after each class. This puppy training class was nothing as I expected to be. The trainer was not tentative, or caring. One of the bigger puppy was off leash, and almost bit my little puppy. Many times during class, the trainer would leave our class and talk to the by-standers and pitch & sale the Petsmart training classes. It’s great that the trainer wants to recruit more people, but this should not have been done during our scheduled class time. Our last class, the graduation day, the class only lasted 25 mins. We paid for 6 classes at 1 hour each class, not 25mins. I am very unsatisfied with this trainer, and with this puppy class. I think its total waste money. I love Petsmart but this trainer did not do what was promised when I enrolled in the class. DO NOT BUY THE DOG TRAINING CLASS. ITS WASTE OF MONEY.

Suzie Steinhauser Monio I was just at the Eagan Petsmart. My husband told me no on a cat that I really liked. After my husband walked away toward the cat supply isle I asked to see the cat. The staff overheard my husband tell me no & refused to let me see the cat because they felt I was not a serious buyer. My husband also said no to my current cat & now loves her. There are so many cats that desperately need homes, so to refuse someone a personal close look at a cat is really unfair to the cat. I was serious about the cat, my husband wasn't but would have let me purchase it like he has with other pets. Our girls also have bunnies. He said no to them at first too. Very sad situation they have going on there. Hope they change their policy. I really did like that cat. I will never shop at petsmart again because I was treated so poorly. It was embarrasing.

I bought a bird from the petsmart in Green bay, Wi. I found her dead in the cage this morning. It is before my two weeks are up, so I.brought the contract ad the bird back because i was told if anything happened, that was all I would need. They are now refusing to help me because I don't have my receipt, I used my debit card and they claimed they can only look up debit transactions for a week. That is a lie. I've had issues with that store for a long time. The animals I buy from petco don't die as often as the animals from petsmart. Will no longer go to petsmart. Hope something is done to fix these problems because I will tell everyone I know to stay away from that store.

We use to love taking our dog to the pet hotel in Rochester Hills Mi the staff is wonderful, but we boarded our dog last year and she came back with giardia which cost almost 500 and the vet at the time I didnt think it came from petsmart, but this past month we boarded her again and once again almost five hundred dollars at the vet we find out she has giardia again!!!!! Im so upset, I use to love taking her there NEVER AGAIN.... I'll miss the staff so will my dog Rosie they were great to us
