I just want to say I have been using the Pet Smart in Pineville Nc for over 15 years. You have the best dog trainer Courtney Wise I have ever seen. I now have a trained therapy dog that goes and visits the hospital and she is working with my 2nd pup now. I am always ask how I get them to behave so well in puplic. So Courtney and your store always get the credit. I have never had a bad experience in any dept. that I shop. The groomers are wonderful!
At the Charlotte, NC store on Rea Rd you had to see the manager's meltdown TWICE on Christmas Eve. Yelling at an employee not once but TWICE. The poor girl, (I don't mean the manager) you can only imagine how embarrassed she was IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. I don't know what's going on at that store but my experience has always been that the manager sets the tone of any work environment. If the manager is on an even keel and friendly, the employees will follow suit and the whole place will have a nice feel to it. On the other hand if the manager is witchy (re-spell that if you'd like) the employees will be unhappy and it will reflect in the shopper's experience. And if you've got a manager who is a bully, watch out; the employees will suffer greatly until they finally get up & leave. For this shopper, another store is on the menu. I don't go shopping to look at unhappy, mistreated store workers. I simply can not shop at a place where hard working employees are treated with such obvious dislike by the manager. Corporate, are you aware of this? I seriously doubt mine is the first complaint. It simply can't be.
Regarding the Petsmart in Lakewood, WA I took my dog into get groomed and it was his first time going there, so they require that you show a rabies certificate, so I brought the one that the Humane Society gave to me and the worker there wouldn't take it, because it was hand written. They needed to verify that it was real and called the Humane Society, meanwhile I asked to see the store director and he was very rude and said as a policy he couldn't accept the certificate because it was hand written. And if they couldn't get a hold of the humane society they wouldn't take the certificate. I go up to Canada with this certificate and the Customs officers take this certificate, but your stores don't! The store manager and employee didn't bother to apologize to me, but when talking to the humane society, apologized to them for the inconvenience! What about my inconvenience! Is this true????? That this is a written policy that your stores don't take hand written rabies certificates even though it has been signed by a DVM and has on it that it came from the Humane Society? After I left Petsmart I went down to the Humane Society and they issue those certificate when the shot is done offsite and that it should have been accepted. ANYWAYS!!!! WHAT A HASSLE!
The Grooming Shop Worker was very ugly to me I have taken my Dog's to Petsmart ever since Round Rock,Tx. I was talking to a Employee about making appointment for tomorrow this guy front the back say we can't do it but the front Employee say's that if I come between 7a.m.-3 p.m. that they can do it. Then a Employee from the back said in a ROUGH VOICE "NO" very rudely. So I called the Manager and told him what happen he said he was sorry I didn't believe him. When I was going to get my Dog I pick her up she have alway's been on my Shoulder's and the the Employee Valerie made a comment I will never go back to Petsmart is this the way you treat your Customer's?
I went to the Petsmart in Traverse City, MI and I asked for the Royal Canine Vegetarian Diet for my dog, (they do have Royal Canine on the shelf, just not vegetarian) my vet even faxed over an RX to Banfield's, the vet on location there, and the store manager said they could not order it. The store manager said to contact Corporate, so that is what I'm trying to do.
I took my Golden Retrievers to PetSmart in Alexandria, Louisiana on Saturday, 26 Nov 11 at 3 pm for a bath, nail trim, and brushing. This morning when I got up, I noticed my dog could not walk. This was something that has never happened before. I sat with her and massaged her body to see if there was any indication of pain. When I reached her rear leg joints, she indicated pain. After 5 hours of not moving, she finally was able (with assistance) to go outside to pee. I intend to take her to the Vet tomorrow morning to find out what happened to her while at PetSmart. My dog was taken to their (PetSmart) holding area away from any visual contact – owners are not allowed to see the conditions of the holding area. This was our first time taking her to PetSmart and the staff was less than professional. It will most definitely be THE last time I take my dogs there, and I will stop buying all products there as well. I should not have trusted them in the first place – especially when they said it would take 3-hours. Actually, it took them 4.2 hours and we had to ask them for our dogs. They do not care about the safety of the dogs, and I will never purchase from them again. I hope all consumers will wake up and see that PetSmart does not have their animals in mind; it is all about the dollar, nothing more. I cannot express how absolutely furious I am at this moment – keeping my composure and refraining from a blistering profane message is taking tremendous effort. I would just like to say my name is ashley from store 1329 and someone wrote a comment about me abusing her scottie but she got the names wrong it wasn't me it was a diffrent employee so I just wanted to defend myslef I'm a good groomer and I care about the dogs I groom
I worked at Petsmart (2006-07) in Santee, CA. I LOVE PETS. And our store over there has a great customer service and attitude towards everyone. When I worked there, I always gave my best into answering and helping others. Our store is one of the best there is, I GUARANTEE IT. I loved my job and I will go back to working there in a heartbeat. There are stores that have horrible service; just like every company. If you really have a bad service at one petsmart, then don't go there. But DO NOT give up on petsmart all together, there are good ones out there.
One thing I have to say, is change your applications on the website. You have at least 150 questions, and 90% of it is the SAME exact question as the one on the page before. It gets frustrating doing an application for 30 min when it can be condensed into 10 min if you take away MOST of those questions. SO STOP REPEATING THEM.
I worked at the store in culver city, ca and was consistently bullied and harassed by the store Manager Gina Smith. I was sent home from work twice, one my socks weren't high enough and the other time my belt was brown and my shoes were black. However, other associates were in the same position as me and never got in trouble for it. I also got written up for insubordination! This isn't the army. It got to the point where I was to uncomfortable to even go to work, because even when I did nothing, there was still something wrong. I went to corporate who did nothing and then went to the state of California, who told me its a law suit on hand. LUCKILY I found a new job where I don't have to worry about my socks, but I did hire a lawyer and everything ready to sue for workplace harassment and bullying.
I recently went to the Petsmart in Kennewick, WA The service was terrible. I asked for my favorite employee Marissa, they then Informed that she doesn't work there anymore. She was the only One with any knowledge about fish. I will no longer shop there.
I took my dogs into the San Marcos texas location this week And was completely amazed with the service I revived the groomer I dealt with was the most friendliest I have ever dealt with unlike the other stores in new braunfuls and Austin they are just rude and unwilling to help this young lady helped with all my questions and worries I had about my little pom she was patient and l Loving with my little girl unlike the manager I'm sure its a tough job but no need to jolt around and yell at dogs as she did but this has been the best salon I have been too and from now on Jessie will he my groomer she's just a wonderful person and deserves the recognition!
Petsmart charged 80 bucks to trim two dogs faces, upon questioning they state they charge by the type of dog regardless of grooming service. I have decided to never go back due to I found a better groomer and feel like I got screwed at petsmart.
Horrible service. All they care about is money, any special requests or speaking with management is wasted time. Do yourself and your pet a favor and go to a small business where they will actually care about your pet and not just about making another dollar. I am beyond upset and will never ever use them again!! My dog has separation anxiety so we've been taking him to pet smart since he was a baby, I asked the groomer for a bath and she said she didn't do that, they have "bathers" for that. When I explaned to the mgr that it was important that he get a bath by his groomer, he said I had to pay for a premium service in order for the groomer to do it!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! You could care less about how my baby is feeling because you must make the money? RIDICULOUS. You guys are RIDICULOUS!!!!
On a regular basis, I am forced to drive to another pet store in Palm Bay, Fl due to the lack of product that I use for my two dogs. Two weeks ago, the Melbourne, Fl store did not have the dog food Nutro Venisen no grain medium bag and this week it is the Dentley Rawhide Double Chew Twists! As I said earlier, this happens all the time! The same excuse is always given, the store is not responsible for the orders or due to it being the weekend it's very busy! Blah,Blah, Blah! I am very disappointed that we don't have a closer store as we used to have across the street from this pathetic excuse of a pet store that continually runs out of merchandise.
I will never again use PetSmart grooming. I will never again shop at Petsmart period. Last Sunday I took my Scottie to PetsMart in Gainesville VA, #1329. I was waiting and wandering around the store for my dog to be ready. At one point I was able to observe the grooming salon. The groomer was very abusive with my dog, muzzled her, and lied about it when confronted. She also did a half baked job grooming her. She didn't even groom her tail. My dog has never been muzzled before, and is not aggressive at all. To date, I have not gotten any satisfaction from the manager, nor an apology or explanation from the groomer, Ashley as to why she mistreated my dog. I am so angry about this. My dog was traumatized and abused for no good reason. She was not herself for a few days. When I called to follow up this morning the manager said she hadn't really had time to talk to the groomer in depth , because they had a lot of grooming appointments, and they were busy. So $$$ is more important than removing an abusive employee, who could go on to mistreat otehr dogs?
what a wonderful staff you have at your petsmart stores here in las vegas, nevada !!! betty, at your store on rainbow and the 215 cound not have been more helpful. what a pleasure shopping at your stores with the friendly professional staff. out of 7 stores we only had one bad experience. your store on n. durango and centenial.. manager christina needs to learn customer service. we used coupons and she treated us like criminals. and they were petsmart coupons.. we didn't let one bad experience deter us from being petsmart customers!!! keep up the good work!!!!
i am a petsmart groomer and a HUGE animal /dog lover! before i became a groomer i'd watch the groomers at the stores through the glass and sometimes think they are being a little rough, not really hurting the pet but watching them tug on an ear or paw sometime upset me. Let me tell you -until you are in there cuting a dog with razor sharp 10inch sissor blades or a clipper blade with a motor on it you really have no idea what you are witnessing! i have learned a firm hold on an ear or paw and a tug to be still is not a bad thing! a bad thing is when the groomer has NO control over the dog and the dog is a moving target and is in danger of being cut or sliced open. So a frim hold or a tug to prevent a cut or getting bit by the dog,- that is not a bad thing. Don't judge us by what you see through the glass! we are ALL dog lovers or we would not be working in the pet industry. But then customers complain no matter what you do, a tug, a firm hold, a pull or tug to get a knot out, or leaving the knot in there,or slicing your dog open. just complain we can take it! we are professionals and are trained to handle dogs in a way to get our job done and to make the pet look and feel better. Boy what if we complained every time your dog would come into us with nails an inch long, ears so matted you cant even see inside the ear, dog crap caked on thier butts, food chunks caked in thier chops,flea infected, skin rashes and crud in thier eyes, dogs that bite and scratch us, 100 pound dogs that refuse to get on a table on in a cage, little dogs that are jumping around like wind up toys with parents who expect the perfect hair cut for thier little babies. let me tell you something the next time you go to the salon to get your hair done, try juming in the chair and turing around and bitting your stylist and then maybe jump out of the chair a few times and then of couse take a pee or poop in the chair! and don't forget to go when you have twings,bugs and 3 months worth of crud in you hair and then see what kind of hair cut you walk out with!!! maybe then you will not be so judgemental of groomers that you are veiwing from a check out line behind the glass!!
I work at a petsmart in tucson az, I have been treated unfairly at times and have witnessed cruel treatment of pets that are recieving services in the grooming salon. I also work with people who are facing criminal domestic violence charges and with people that use drugs as well as steal from the store. I am appauled but ubfortunately I have to work and have no choice. You as the consumer can make changes, shop some where else.
You are heartless people hurting and killing innocent animal because you think you can get by with it. ALL dogs and cats that are left over after an adoption still has the right to live butyou turn around and play God killing them because someone didn't want them that day. I hope you are put out of bussiness, petland is just a cold and heartless store. May God have mercy on everyone that works at petland. To me, you're just bullies.
