We adopted a little dog two weeks ago from the local pound. We came to pet smart this past saturday for a check up. Now mine you this little dog has already had her shots ans heart worm test, we bought her in to have her teeth cleaned,and they called and stated that they gave her shots . she did not need shots again Nor this soon. six months ago I had a teacup Yorkie they did the same thing to her a moth or two later he died. Now I am worndering if this had anything to do with his death???? I have lost trust in them.The nurse stated that with the pet insurance the shots were encluded, and they were waiting til just before time was up so they would not be wasted. I am afaid to bring my baby to them again. I would love for someone from the head quarters to get in touch with me... I like prt smart but not the vets. ccmsaw@yahoo.com

For all you people complaining about Petsmart. I happen to be a Store Director for the Pets Mart in Albuquerque at Wyoming and Acadamey. You people are a bunch of cry babies. As Store director I can make my own decsions and do what I want. I dont give a Fuck what the Public thinks, I make a good Paycheck for doing nothing. and Im better off than most you stupid little consumers. If you dont like it, go to Petco, I dont give a Fuck. I work at the store in Port Chester, Ny and have been harrassed on a daily basis by my manager Josh. He has called me a Yonkers statistic, yelled at me in front of other employees and customers and does nothing but sit in the office all day.He lets the other managers do allof the work and then complains about them behind their back. He should be fired and their are other employees who have also been harrased by him as well but are afraid to say anything.

Don't ever take you dog to get groomed @the Pets Mart in Phoenix AZ. 24th st and baseline.They burned my dog and cut the vein in his nails!!!Had to take my baby to the vet cause he was scratching all over from razor burn,Called the store manager Steve he told me he would give me my money back for the grooming & vet bill and told me never to bring my dog back.Great customer service coming from the manager!!!

I love Petsmart. I am a great customer and spend a lot of money there in the Saugus, MA store. However, the birdseed just went up to $32.99 for 40 lbs of black sunflower seed. I have bought this for years at 18.99 and 21.99. This is outrageous. I can get #60 at Ocean State Job Lots for $28.00 (10 lbs more!) and #40 lbs at Lowe's for #25.00. I know food is going up, but this is bird seed! I hope corporate hears me and lowers this price as I won't buy it there anymore until they do and I buy a lot of it usually. Corporate can call my store and verify it.

I like to feed the wild birds in my area. I then bought a tube thistle seed feeder from PetSmart, found out the store will not carry the thistle seed to fill my feeder. When I asked the clerk if she could order some in for me and she said,"No I Can Not!". That was the end of our conversation. I left unhappy and most likely will NOT go back.

Thats NOT the rating I have given my groomer who has serviced my dogs this past 5-6 years at Petsmart in Medford, Oregon. I recently got a cancer diagnosis for one of my dogs, whose rabies shot was due in May 2011. When I took my dog ( a little schnitzu mix) to be groomed this past week I was informed the night before from one of their reps that due to the fact he hadnt had his rabies shot he wouldnt be welcome. I explained to no avail, the next day my predicament, which my groomer was well awareof his condition but due to Petsmart rules he wasnt welcome at all. I called your HQ try9ing to get answers that day, was told it would be 3-5 days, and this morning I recieve a call from the branch manager,CONNIE in Medford, NOT HQ. She informs me with the usual patronising Company speel, how sad they are about everything thats occurred how I am such a valued customer at Petsmart how sad it is about my dog dying and then.......... she LAUGHS.......... LAUGHS, down the phone at me. Well needless to say I am upset, maybe Petsmart customers who have also experienced this situation, should somehow come together and lets file a class action suit against them, something I am very seriously pondering. Needless to say I have extracted my pets (all 4) and my clients pets from their business, and will pass them along to another groomer more sensitive to the needs of the pets and their owners.

I used to shop at Petsmart because I loved the great customer service. Those days seem to be gone. I went to the petsmart in santee ca with our baby goat we were bottlefeeding. We had it leashed and it never made any messes ( if it had we would have promptly cleaned it up)nor did it chew on anything. It was really small. We were rudely told at the registar that our goat was not welcome there again because they do not sell goat food there. Over in the tierrasanta petsmart, the gentleman in front of me was trying to buy a catfish for his cichlid tank. I have one in mine and its fine. The worker there refused in a very rude way to sell it to him because she wasnt sure if it would make it.She said we are not just about customer service, but animal care. Isnt that going a bit far? Is this a pet store or a animal shelter trying to find just the right home for the right fish? The worse part was, my children and I stood there waiting about 15 minutes with no acknowledgment from the worker while I could see 4 other employees up front chatting with each other. I do shop at the petsmart in El Cajon once in awhile because the staff there has been great. They welcomed our goat with open arms ( We dont take it anywhere with us now that its off the bottle) and are always friendly. Outside of that store, we do not choose to give Petsmart are business anymore. I wish the stores would go back to being more customer friendly because it used to be our favorite place to shop :(

My complaint is actually with the company that accepts or rejects customer's checks. The company is Certegy, they are the most useless company I have ever known of. They have screwed up our ability to write checks at the many stores we have done business with for years. Our credit score is over 800 we have no problems with funds to pay for the checks we write. I am not the only person that has had to deal with this and I am sure I will not be the last, but I have filed a accomplaint with the FTC, Consummer Reporting, and I will now do the same with the Attorney Generals Office in the State of California. I am notifing the stores that we do business with that we will not buy from them, nor will friends and family buy from them. You cannot tell me that nothing can be done to change the way Certege does business. I had 3 interviews for Petsmart, I proved that I was experienced in the animal field, educated in grooming and was able to give proper advise to customers regarding their pets needs. I drove over 300 miles to go to these interviews, including bringing in one of my personal clients dogs to prove that I was an educated groomer. I groomed the dog the way the owner liked him to be groomed and did well. The "so-called manager" of the grooming department said that I would hear from him by Monday. No calls came, I called there 3 times between Monday and Saturday just to be denied the job. Both the store manager and grooming department manager were nothing more than UNPROFESSIONAL. You don't tell someone that they will hear from you and then you are no where to be found then deny the person the job. I was also informed that if I were to be hired than leave I couldn't work for a competitor or start my own business because Petsmart could sue you/me.... Uh, sorry but you can't keep someone from making a living. Petsmart is NOT a good company. Also the Grooming Department Manager was highly unprofessional as he acted as he was the be-all-end-all of grooming, just because I didn't get my education at Petsmarts "grooming school" doesn't mean I'm less qualified. I don't need to work for an unprofessional company.

i frequent the Macedonia Ohio store a lot but this past month the fish tanks looked like some one took a massive dump in them! they were cloud white with 2 inch thick blue algae which is a cytotoxic algae(it looked like a shag rug). algae eaters cant eat it or they'll die from the toxin. that same algae has killed 12 foot gators down in florida! the management says its under control its just high phosphates which from research could only be caused by over medicating well established system or not changing the water for a month in a home tank. they have UV sterilizers, fluidized bedding and a filter that handles 4,000 gallons of water so how does the tank get high phosphates and algae that can kill large reptiles???????? also when the pet-care people went to catch fish if the touched the gravel it made the snow globe effect on steroids from how much waste was in the tanks! on a final note i would never buy fish from their if you want high quality aquatic pets go to a specialty store that also sells salt water fish and knows more about fish then petsmart or petco.

I was appauled to hear from someone at Petsmart that groomers mistreat the animals by cursing at them or jerking or roughly brushing when they think the customers are not listening or watching. In particular, the salon manager of the Davenport store ( Barbie) is repeatedly abusive towards the actual good employees thus giving permission the other 2 who are her buddies to be nasty with the good employees as well. There have been several issues with her scheduling and then maliciously rescheduling to make people angry and leave. She thouroughly enjoys pushing the good workers out because they do not fit into her click( Riane and Matt), who also enjoy talking poorly to the good new hires. The salon manager has been seen using the velocity dryer and the kennel dryer on cats, which is NOT allowed, yet she rudely speaks to her nice employees who actually try to follow the rules as if they were stupid. All three of these people ( Barbie, Matt , and Riane) have been seen speaking in a degrating way towards other employess in front of customers in the salon section. The rumours I have heard in just a short amount of time about the amount of good workers leaving the job in the grooming salon to go else where and the reasons being the salon manager and her 2 friends will explain alot. Most people will not admit to the problems when they leave because they want a good reference for their next job and would rather just find another job.( We all know bad managers are bad references regardless of what the laws are about calling previous employers) Worst of all for Petsmart,the management problems need to be resolved back there because bad management means bad business. Managers are supposed to be leaders not hinderers. I can guarantee that when she leaves the sales and customer satisfaction would increase in numbers. This is of course if the actual good workers were seen and compared with the poor ones. Many have come and gone in the grooming salon on her ( Barbie) account.The salon manager promises to send people to grooming academy, but when she sees that they are a threat to their job because they have more potential, she finds a way to get them to leave. She only sends "safe" individuals that will not make her poor performance stick out. Isn't it more costly to hire and train people? So many customers have been heard complaining about the service, unreported animals being cut, sanitation procedures not being used, animals being left in the kennels too long while they go out and smoke. Employees are advised to take their time instead of quickly and efficiently returning the animals back to the owner to prevent sickness or added stress to the pet. If the staff comments in the computer you will see comments like " this dog is stupid I will never do"( that one inparticular is a comment by Matt,who wastes his time doing things instead of his job, or you will hear a customer complain, I never had a behavioral problem with my dog before when a groomer calls and says , sorry I can't do your dog anymore", yet the dog clearly was stressed because of their abuse that is allowed in the salon. I think that Petsmart should really consider checking into the stores to see if their employess are actually animal lovers while working and touching the animals.This should be a requirement!!There are some really good managers and workers who do really love animals!, but there are also some bad apples that are souring everything else slowly and are creating a revolving door for the good workers. I am tempted to call some animal rights organization over this, but I really believe that Petsmart is a good company and just needs to weed out the good from the bad to better their sales and customer satisfaction. So this is why I am trying to inform you of this issue at the Davenport store, since it is a fairly new store and probably needs to know this information for improvement purposes and growth. I believe that the right individual will take care of the problems because I have seen really good Petsmart stores and want to stand against those that say that it is a bad place( customer reviews). Petsmart is an awesome place to be. Please fix your staff.

The Seigan Ln. petsmart store in Baton Rouge, La. #1078 has very poor customer service on the managers part. Suzie Seager,grooming mgr. & Lee the store mgr. are most incompitent when it comes to customer service and satisfaction !! A friend of mines son who is a bit handicaped went into the salon while Mr.Lee and his grooming mgr. Suzie were very rude to him . For a company that provides a service to the public as Petsmart does,its really ashame that you allow people like this to be in the positions they are in. A corporation like Petsmart could hire better mgrs. through the Salvation Army Work program and im sure they would treat customers with more respect.My friends warned me about poor management at this store and boy were they right.Because of this i will no longer bring my pets to this particular store again. Its sad because this store was so convient,but then Petco is just a few blocks down Seigan Ln.Good news travels fast , bad news travels faster.

firstly, this number to corporate- when you finish pressing all the prompt buttons you are taken to the wrong place.... secondly, i am referring to your aventura, florida store... i, at one time, took my friend to the groomer in your store. i always had to wait at least four hours for her to be groomed. ok stuff happens one morning i took my friend to your store at 8am. jason was the manager. i asked to use the shampoo i paid twenty dollars for in the store and i was told no, with an attitude. i asked to speak to someone else and he said he was tghe manager. i asked to see where it says in your store i can't use my selection of shampoo. i waited, no lie, at least 20 minutes for him to rumage through the store for some training book he had with the notation. i was already there so i left my friend for grooming. i now boycotted your groomer for a few months until i found out jason left. next comes corina. ok. it's my money and if i have a comment about why my friend is there four and a quarter hours and her belly is still wet, it's my right to say so. WHY IS HER BELLY WET AFTER FOUR AND A QUARTER HOURS? So now carina makes it so i have to go through her to groom my friend... as i continue......... i found really nice groomer in hollywood. about 10 minutes down the road. well, now i pay about $13. less with no attitude. KEEP IN MIND AS I PAY YOU YOU ARE NOT DOING ME ANY FAVORS----GET IT? OK. I Also use Banfield. that's $500. plus a year. I also shop for food and treats in your store..Roughly $700. year. as i figure it i was spending in yor aventura store about $2000. per year. i refuse to be treated the way i was at your groomer's in aventura. for the heck of it because i mentioned petco opening up the road--- the regular clerks would wisper how overpriced they were. so...........i checked them out. found a groomer who had done on occasion my friend at your aventura store. sonia. so happy i met her at petco. Again, now i save $15 and no attitude. ok- so i'm only one person... only $2000 a year. i'm changing my card used to pay banfield so they can't re-enroll me. petco or broward humane 6 in 1 shot is about $61... ok.... i complain, so what? i don't need anyone in your store making it difficult for me. Shannon, who is a groomer... who never groomed my friend(btw i always left $5 tip) telling carina i complained about my friend coming back damp after 4 plus hours. so in recap..... i'm glad corina messed with me....i'm glad out of the $2000 i was and i underline was spending in your store that i will save enough to spend a weekend at Disney.... let your employees know it's not smart to talk crap about a competitor. it's not nice for an employee to talk about a customer in front of them..... 347-633-1399 ps it's my money and i'll spend it as i wish. pps. at the aventura store you have two trainer/ manager's Pat and Christina..... the best..ask them about me.. my friend's name is Lucy/Basset Hound- and I'm most angry about the 3 phone calls i made to get nowhere in your corporate office. you truly are replaceable IT'S MY MONEY!!!!!!!

I recently bought Frontline (purple 45-88 lbs) for my new dog at the price of $66.54 for a box of 3 doses at the store in Clearwater, FL. I found today by searching the web that you can buy this product on any site for half of the price Petsmart charges. I called the store to see if there had been a mistake and was told no, when I told the Manager that this product was available at many sites for half that she said she knew and even bought her products online. She went on to say that it was corporate who made the prices. So corporate charges double the going rate, this is the kind of unadulterated greed that has cost them this customer and I will be telling everyone I know to shop elsewhere. Shame on you Petsmart!

I am very disappointed in Petsmart corporate. AZ tried to pass a bill that would require illegal's to show citizenship before they could rent, get government or state aid or most everything. Also it would have put a stop to Anchor babies. That was not supposed to be for every illegal that comes into this country,. The anchor baby law was only enacted because of the slaves years ago. So they could become citizens. Not for every illegal that sneaks across the border. What part of illegal do they not understand! Anyway I will not shop at Petsmart and I belong to several large coast to coast RVer clubs and will inform them about Petsmart selling out our country down the tubes for cheap labor. If you have ever been out of work and can't get a job....because illegal's are working those jobs. We have. Before we retired and we couldn't find a steady job for about 2 years, because the illegal's will work for 1/3 the going salary. Many of them will rent a house and 20 or 30 of them live there and send their money back to Mexico. I can show you this! They are not doing jobs that Americans won't do,...They are doing house framing, plumbing, electrical (unlicensed), roofing, concrete work, road construction, heavy equipment operating. All construction work. Any many more jobs they are doing, Good jobs! Working for much less. Try making house payments on 1/3 of your salary!

PETSMART NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED IN THE GROOMING DEPARTMENT. This store should be EMBARRASSED! Hanford, CA location. I dropped my yorkie off to be groomed... We discussed that the dog would get a bath, hair trim, nail trim, teeth cleaned, ears cleaned, sanitary.. the works. We discussed that she would have the traditional yorkie- teddy bear shaped head. I left thinking everything would be fine. I received a phone call stating that the "other" groomer had called in sick, so it was going to take a little longer than usual. Which was ok. A received another phone call a few hours later that my dog was ready to go. When i picked her up I was HORRIFIED. My yorkie had been shaved completely and she was shaking UNCONTROLLABLY. Terrified. She has never acted like that after being groomed. Where was her fur??!! Teddy Bear Shaped Head?? REALLY!??! Where?? The lady handing me the dog saw the expression on my face and IMMEDIATELY started talking about animal obedience classes blah blah blah. I was distracted and shocked, so i paid for the service and left. I got the dog home and she started to baby her back foot. I noticed she was bleeding and leaving blood on our tile floors and she wasn't acting right. Thats when i decided to call Petsmart. The manager got back to me the next day and proceeded to tell me that the groomers were saying my dog was "UNRULY." UNRULY?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a 3 pound dog!!!! How can you not control a 3 pound dog!! IDIOTS!!!!! I'm sure if someone was roughing with you and hurting you.. you'd be trying to get away too!! I've never received anything but compliments when picking this dog up from other groomers. How friendly and sweeeet she is. NEVER A COMPLAINT! EVER!!!!! Oh and the explanation for the cut: She was VERY matted. MY YORKIE WAS NOT MATTED. She is groomed regularly and I have NEVER heard that one. Even if the dog had been matted... there should have beeen a phone call to me letting me know, and asking if it was ok to SHAVE MY DOG COMPLETELY. But no phone call. Is there no procedure for these situations????? I dropped off a yorkie puppy and I expected to pick one up!!!! Thats NOT what I got AT ALL. I AM DISGUSTED WITH PETSMART GROOMING. UNACCEPTABLE. ALL IN ALL.......... DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. I believe the groomers are VERY unprofessional and do not follow procedure. I would've done a better job if i'd done it MYSELF. WILL NEVER RETURN....&& WILL SPREAD THE WORD.

Actually your stores get 5 stars for the good employees. My gripe is about the new "Tag Works" machine. These are the gaudiest tags,there is NOT one plain or simple stainless steel tag to pick from, all too frou-frou looking. I picked 2 of the least ugly. I am watching it print in the Laser machine, I see a "Petsmart" logo gets inscribed onto the tag. What?? Did I miss something? There is NOT ONE place where there is printed disclosure that MY tag is going to have your LOGO on it. What? You are getting FREE advertising off of MY money, and my poor dogs have to go around with ADVERTISING on their tags? If your name is on the tag, it is a "private label" item. The "examples" do have a logo, but customers AREN"T looking at your LOGO,they are looking at how the tag looks completed. I do NOT like having unwanted LOGOS on my merchandise. This tag should have the petsmart logo on the outside of the bag, and on the display. By having it added to the tag, it becomes YOUR merchandise. I did get a refund. Going to contact the FTC about product labeling.

I have to say that it sounds like the PetsMart stores in the US are not near as lucky as those in Canada. I have shopped at Petsmart in both Medicine Hat and Calgary, and am always impressed by the helpful and knowledgable staff. All three of my dogs go to the Pet Salon, and are all treated like royalty by the Grooming staff in Medicine Hat, who treat them as if they are part of their own families. I have used the Pet Trainer as well, and she is courteous, and always makes a connection with both the pet parent and the pets themselves. I also know that if I am looking for something in particular that there will be someone there to assist. Count me as a loyal customer, and don't tar the whole company by the actions of a few. Percentage wise there is bad and good employees everywhere, but I have to say that both Calgary and Medicine Hat's stores seem to have all good ones as far as I can tell. I shop for my aquariums, my dogs and a cat, so I am there at least once per week for something, sometimes more, and I wouldn't shop for my pets anywhere else!!!

We had our 2 older toy poodles groomed at PetSmart #1010 yesterday. What a disaster. The check-in clerk asked us to confirm what type of cut, legs, nails, ears, etc. When we arrived to pick them up, they looked horrible! Neither dogs eyes had been cleaned. The one poodle's muzzle had many randon long pieces of hair shooting out. Neither dog had their underbelly area washed. Their feet were untouched not "clean & trimmed" as requested for a poodle. The one dog's legs looked like a child had shaved them, ragged & uneven. When we questioned the 5 or 6 female groomers what happened no one said anything. We asked who groomed them..the answer "we don't know". We asked for the grooming manager "Penny", who agreed to try and fix a couple mistakes. By that time, the older poodle had had enough. The groomer said "they are traumatized". If you want to bring them back another time, I'll try and fix them. The store manager listened to our story. Took our paid receipt and disappeared. He never returned to us with an outcome!! We will never return to any PetSmart. The groomers could care less and have no pride in their work. Are they even trained??
