Hi I took my dog to petco for a bath etc... but when got my dog home a few days later he stared biting himself and after taking my dog back they finally admitted that my dog had fleas and know they put my dog with another dog that had fleas and they are not willing to fix the problem free of my cost since they caused it. They DO NOT WANT THEIR CUSTOMR TO COME BACK AND THEY DO NOT CARE. NEVER SHOP AGAIN AT THE PETCO IN CEERITOS CALIFORNIA POOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE MANGER WAS REPECTFULL AND UNPROFESSICAL.
I was bitten by fleas last time in PETCO in Dublin. Won't go back, don't want to bring fleas home to my pets!!!
i bought to betta splenden (veiltail)and with three days they both died and i am a breeder who does have her fish sent to japan.and i get treated like what i have to say means nothing to them and i really have a problem with that i would be better off going to petland and getting bettas from them i make their store look good and now they will be shut down.
About five months ago, I purchased the PETCO rabbit starter kit for my new bunny. However on September 13, 2010, it killed him. I woke up to let him out and to my disbelief, his head was lodged in between the corner of the cage and had suffocated over night. It was a horrific sight that has brought me great grief. This tragedy should never happen again, although I am sure this is not the first time PETCO has received a letter like this. The loss of my love, my baby, is unchangeable and I will never be the same after the sight. I would hope PETCO recall all of the starter kit cages, and ones similar in design, to stop any further tragedies as the one I experienced. The clean-up was also horrifying trying to disassemble the cage to free his nearly decapitated head. Again, I hope PETCO stops the current production of this model and take them off of their shelves.

GollyI am surprised by the above comments. Petco store on Orchard Park Rd. In West Senegal N.Y. is clean and orderly, service fine and selection of products quite adequate. What-I am writing about is to thank Petco for offering vaccination clinics for animals. It us an excellent service and affordable. We have a very healthy almost 5 yr old Black Lab and all he needed was his shots to be legal and safe. Last time went to. Vet's office. Cost over $300.00! So thank-you Petco for the service. I will now buy my Hill's Science Diet dog food for Murphy from you.
I have written to everyone I could find at least twice (phone calls did not work) expressing my concern for the Betta fish at the Greenville, SC Cherrydale store. I asked why the little pimento cheese containers these fish live out their lives in were always so clean. The employee at Petco remarked that it was because they NEVER feed the fish as it take too long and they do not have the staff to provide that service. She said that it is Petcos policy to just let them die of starvation and replace them rather than to feed them. I have gotten a response once saying that the complaint department had received my email and that someone would respond to me within 48 hours. It has now been two weeks. I wrote again last week to every department I could find and have offered my feeding service daily FREE OF CHARGE to feed the fish...I have yet to receive an answer.YET THEY KEEP SENDING ME SALES INFORMATION ON MY EMAIL. THE NERVE!!!!!!!! I also told them that I had started a campaign against them on Face Book. I hope you do the same.
Wow, do i have a story for all of you.... My daughter was really wanting Guinea pigs for her birthday, she is now 9, we went ahead and got her 2 females from the store in Longmont, CO... After just 1 weeks time, 1 of them seemed sick, so i called the store and they said to bring it back so they could check it out and give me a call in 2 days, on the 4th day I called them, at which time i was told that she had died, and they wanted me to bring in the other one, just in case she was also sick... when we did, the manager came to take her, and began to tell me that It was obviously MY fault that the guinea pig died, and that anything my vet had told me was wrong. She said as soon as she saw the guinea pig she knew it was going to die and that it was obvious we were not feeding it - saying this in front of my daughter, belittling me in front of my kids, making my daughter feel horrible - when in fact the guinea pig was eating great. When we were walking out the store, my other daughter notice other guinea pigs in another cage, they were marked "male rats" which they were not. I asked for the manager again, she, without even looking said "yep, they are males, and you want females"... As i tried to talk to her, she walked away from me...as we got in the car, my daughter was crushed, not that it died, but that we were blamed for its death. Through a talk and tears, we moved on... Called another Petco in another town 40 miles away, they said they had females, which after the drive, they had only males... Manager said, "guess we were wrong" .... Sucks for us, long drive just because they cant read there own signs... A couple days later, I went back to the first store, why I dont know... and came to find out that the supposed male rats were in fact female guinea pigs. My daughter fell in love with a gray and white one which after talking to her about the other one that may be sick she said she would prefer not to have that one and would like the new gray and white one. I then called the store, talked to a different manager, whom I had not dealt with yet, told him the story of everything, which I finally got a sorry and he was willing to hold it for me until I got off of work the next day. So, after work the following day, which i normally car pool, but didnt that day so i could drive to the store and get it... I went by there to pick up the guinea pig and I was informed that those guinea pigs were too young to be sold and they were only out on the floor because the stock room was too full to house them. After expressing my frustration and reminding them they had my contact information and could have called me and saved me another trip, they said they would hold her for me for the 2 weeks they said she needed to be..i asked to go back to the stock room to physically see them back there and also see my name "tagged" on the gray and white one to take home in a couple weeks. I went back to the back room the cage was not tagged and they said they would call me in 2 weeks, I verified they had my phone number and they said oh I guess we better get that again. Today (3 weeks later) I called the store because I never got a phone call. They informed me that the general manager is refusing to sell me any guinea pigs because the other one I took back, at the suggestiong of THEIR vet, was also sick - thus again it is my fault that they are sic.Given the fact we now have 2 other ones that are in the same cage as the sick ones were and completely healthy this does not make any sense. They sold us sick guinea pigs and blamed a 9 year old for killing one of them. My plan is to call corporate headquarters and relay this story as the local managers obviously do not know how to MANAGE!! I have not even shared all of the details here, it would take to much time.. I work in a store were customer service is a must, and to go though all of this, not with just 1 person, but many, shows me that they as a company, don't have a clue how to help others, how to even say sorry for any of this, and to put the blame on me.... If there was another way to score this lower then (1 stars) poor, I would.... Thanks, shopping petsmart from now on!!!
I purchaes an Orthopedic Dog Mat(manufactured for PETCO, $80.00 on March 23, 2010, via online. I received the mat the first week in April I have an older dog that only sleeps on it at night. I have taken off the cover & washed it a few times. The cover is falling apart. I called Customer Service & apparanty received a call center in the Phillipines. The man coulld barely speak English. He could not help me. I explained the cover was falling a part & the mat was ok, I just wanted a replacement cover. He told me he could not do anything. After 37 minutes on the phone with him & being on hold, I asked to speak to a supervisor. After anogther 7 minutes on hold the supervisor told me she could not do anything for me either. I then asked for corporate number, she would not disclose the number. I founfd the number & explained to the operator that I wanted to speak to someone in the corporate office not in a customer service call center in a foriegn country. She said she was putting my number to upper managemnet in the corporate office, she was very pleasant, spoke perfect English. I received a call back from the supervisor that I had spoken to early that would not disclose the corporate number. She told me Fed Ex was picking up the mat on the 14 of September & I will be receiving a new one. I asked her how I would pack the mat, (it is 30" x 40"), she told me to bring the mat to a local store & they would process a refund to the same credit card that I purchsed the matt with. I no lomger have that card & I explained that I still wanted the mat. I completely baffled her. She said she would call me back. It seems like she may have been instructed to satisfy me, however, she does not know what to do. I asked her to send the bed & I will reused the box, give another form of payment, in case she does not receive the used bed back, I asked her just a cover, not the entire mat. They cannot handle it. They could in fact mail a cover in a regular envelope. But they choose to just make it harder for themselves.......
I went into the E. Virginia Beach, VA to purchase some outfits for my 3 dogs. I found a clearance rack marked 75% off. The sign was balanced between the center of the 4 way rack and you were unable to read any writing below the 75% due to the fact it was covered. There weren't very many outfits on it but found 3. I also found other things in the store. I went to the checkout and they had a dog trainer ringing the register which was new on it. One outfit ring the correct price and the other 2 did not. She stated oh these are 75% off too but I am not sure how to fix it, let me ask someone. Another employee came and told her she would have to have the manager to do it. At this point, I was waiting 10 minutes. The manager comes to the register and the cashier informed her of the problem. She never even looks at me and states oh those aren't listed on the sign and walks away in the direction of the rack. The cashier says oh she is going to check on it. She passes the rack without stopping and heads to the back of the store. I and the cashier stood there for 5 minutes. The cashier states she doesn't know what happens and calls the manager back. As the manager approaches she said "What is the problem?" with all I can say is a snotty voice and a bob of the head. The cashier says what did you find out. "About WHAT" store manager says. "The outfits?" cashier responds. "I SAID they aren't listed on the sign!!" The cashier starts to point at the rack "But they are all on that rack." " I said they aren't LISTED!!" The manager finally turns to me and said "DO YOU WANT THESE OR NOT, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?" I have to say I fell back on my heals and with wide shocked eyes said "Yes, but I would like them for the 75% off, you can't see what is written on the sign. It's covered." The manager with a bob of the head and a flip of her voice "I am NOT doing it" At this point, I believe I was done. I asked her for her for the manager she said she was the manager. I asked her for her district manager's information. She informed me that they don't give out the district manager's name or number and does not give out the corporate headquarters number. After asking her 5x she finally said they had a customer care line I could make a complaint on. I asked for it. She went in the back, came back out with a business card and throw. Let me restate that THROW it on the corner in front of me and said "GOOD LUCK". Now at this point, while in the store, I called the number. It clearly is a India Call Center. No one could speak English well. The man was trying to be nice, but informed me he didn't have any numbers but the store number and I could call and make a complaint to the same store manager I just dealt with or he could leave a message with the direct manager and it would take 48 hrs before he could get back to me. He couldn't give out the corporate headquarters number or give me the name of whom would be calling me. I even ask for his boss. She was nice but same story. I ask if she could just call him and tell him to call me. They had no phone numbers they just send emails. This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I shop Petsmart all the time because of their service. I have had complaints about small stuff and it is always resolved or an apology. I spend about 500 a month on food and supplies for my 6 animals. I thought I would give Petco a try. NEVER AGAIN. I will stay with Petsmart. Shoppers BEWARE!!!!!!!!!
Wow, I am not alone. My problem seems petty to the rest of you, but I'll complain anyway. I don't usually shop Petco to begin with because of their live animals for sale. But I needed a new ID tag for my dog and I knew I could get one there right away.I pay my $13.72 for the tag and the clerk gives me a collar ring that is so small and cheap I doubt it would fit on a hamster collar, much less a dog's.When I ask to speak to the manager they tell me her name is Daniell, they call her ,no response. After waiting a few mins. I go looking for her. After asking 3 workers I find her on her knees stocking pet stuff..she then proceeds to tell me how to put the ring on,like I'm one of her stupid cousins.I said " I know how it works,you idiot " at which point she says "we're through" and goes back to her stocking. Really great customer care,don't ya think???Please, save your money time and aggravation and shop anywhere else.The store is at 5850 Sepulveda Blvd. Van Nuys CA.
To Petco headquarters, you may just want to get some native born Americans to run your stores that way they'll be familiar with our customs. Then send them through Business 101 classes so they know the golden rule, the customer is always right
STORE 309 Is all I have to say! I bought Advantage for my dog at nearly $60 and the cashier didn't put it in my bag!! So I called and called the store with no call back. Went down there and they say they are unable to help me. I must have misplaced it!! BULL! Made a complaint with headquarters and still have not received a call back!! I think it's lawsuit time.
I refuse to go to Petco. They sell inferior products, products that don't work, leaches that have to be cut off because they don't release, and food products that are price mis-marked or not marked at all. The managers suck! Animals in cages for sell are abused. HORRIBLE PLLACE!
dont ever....and i mean ever..order ANYTHING online from this company. i cant begin to describe the experience i had. my package never came to my home. fedex reported that i REFUSED the package. the package was then placed on a plane back to petcos warehouse. the kicker..my credit card was billed the very same day. i had up to 8 different conversations with so called customer service. each cust. serv. rep was clearly not american. i could barely understand what they were even saying. i shop online all the time and ive never dealt with more incompetent people before in my life. petco, theres enough americans out of work, hire someone who DOESNT speak broken english to handle your customer service.
Cherry Hill, NJ / Garden State Park location -- BUYER BEWARE I purchased an 8 lb bag of cat food. Once I opened it and mixed it in a container with other dry food, I looked at the expiration date on the bag: 2/2010 (current date is 8/2010). I made the extra trip to show the clerk at the register my current receipt and the empty bag with date. She thanked me. No refund?? No store coupon?? I guess I was just a good samaritan informing them to withdraw the product before it gets wormy. Then, one week later, I tried to return a turtle lamp that I bought at Petco.com. I didn't have the 'proper' return to store receipt downloaded, eventhough I had a receipt and shipping documentation of the price paid to Petco. They are causing me wasted gas and aggravation. I'll return it to Petsmart and switch my loyalty to them! Debra
Petco Corporate Office, For many past years I have been shopping at Pet Supply Plus, the service was very good. Recently I received a new puppy and was looking for a certain puppy food that none of the stores in the area sell, including Petco, so the breeder told me of another good food. While at the Highland Park, IL Petco store on 7/17/10, and purchasing a bag of Petco brand treats, Justin had informed me they offer puppy training classes, which I signed up for. When I returned home and opened the bag of treats, there was a live roach in the bag, I sealed the bag again and placed it in another sealed bag and called the Petco store and happen to speak with Justin, I was informed if I did not open the bag I could return the treats. I explained I would not have found the live roach in the bag unless I opened it. I was informed these are the refund rules, if I did not agree with the refund rules, I would have to speak with the store manager. I asked Justin for the health department phone number that checks their store, Justin had told me I could find the information in the phone book myself and hung up on me. The following day I spoke with the Store Manager and was informed the same information and once again hung up on. Last Monday and Thursday we attended the puppy class. Again at the time of the class signup, Justin had informed me there were going to be 6 puppies in the class. The first and second class there was only one other puppy enrolled, I feel Justin mislead or lied to me just to get another puppy in the class. Please understand, Ben whom is the trainer is a very nice person, but I do not feel this class will best benefit my puppy, being that I was told this class would have 6 puppies in it which was the reason I signed up. So far, it seems Petco is a very poorly ran business. Tom P.S. I did not see a rating of 0 stars, which is what I would have chosen.

I SENT A FRIEND OF MINE TO THE PETCO GARLAND RD. AND BUCKNER IN DALLAS,TX. TO HAVE HIS 2 DOGS GROOMED..SARAH IS THE ONLY PERSON IN THAT GROOMING ARE THAT MY DOG WILL LET CUT HIS TOE NAILS. WHEN HE WENT BY THE STORE ONE LADY WAS NOT TREADING THE DOG LIKE SHE SHOULD.. HE TOLD ME THE TUESDAY ABOUT WHAT HE HAD SEEN AND SAID HE WOULD NOT TAKE HIS DOGS THERE.. I TOLD SARAH THAT TODAY WHEN I TOOK MY DOG IN FOR HER TO TRIM HIS NAILS. AMBER ONE OF THE OTHER GROOMERS WAS IN THERE AND I TOLD SARAH AND AMBER HEARD WHAT I WAS SAYING-- THAT I HAD CALLED THE MANAGER AND TOLD HIM ABOUT WHAT MY FRIEND SAW AND MGR. SAID HE WOULD LOOK INTO THE MATTER. !!!TODAY IT WAS EVIDENT THAT THE MANAGER DID NOT DO A THING. I JUST FINISHED TALKING TO THE REGIONAL OFFICE IN THIS AREA. TALKED TO THE DISTRICT MANAGER SECRETARY AND SHE WILL HAVE THE PERSON OVER THAT STORE FROM HER OFFICE CALL ME(AS I HAVE BOTH NAMES AND #'S) I CAN KEEP ON TILL TALK TO SOMEONE--THE LADY WAS GOING TO GIVE ME DON MCBOOM'S CELL # TOLD HER HE COULD CALL ME WHEN HE HAD TIME.
