A rescue organization called Pals4paws in Indiana has illegally taken three of my dogs and put them in their shelter for adoption. A call was placed by another rescue to the Petco in Carmel, IN to inform them of the attempt by Mary, who is the founder of Pals4paws. The manager did tell the caller that he would not allow mary to adopt out my dogs in his store. I so appreciate this. I am currently filing a law suit against all parties for deceiving me into thinking that my dogs were being put in a forever home with a wonderful lady. The dogs are chinese cresteds and their names are Abby, Romeo and Chip. I called Mary and tried to let her know of the situation and she was the rudest person I have ever spoken to. She refused to return my dogs, claimed I left them outside, that they were in poor health, had missing teeth and she had their health records. I informed her that ALL my dogs are housed in my home, they are not in poor health, they are vaccinated, rabies and current license, they are dewormed every two months and had dental work previously done. AND that chinese crested hairless have a natural gene for missing teeth, especially the true hairless, which is what Abby and Chip are. Mary placed them on PetFinder immediately claiming they were homeless, they were not homeless! Mary claims to have signed surrender papers and I would never get my dogs back, I am completely devastated. I was told by a rescue lady, Tina, in Three Rivers, MI that the three dogs were being placed in a loving, forever home. She knew where these dogs were going and had Marsha deliver the dogs to Mary in Kokomo, IN. I suspect Marsha is the one the illegally signed the surrender papers. The reason I found out about the dogs being in a shelter was a wonderful, honest rescue lady named Carole. I plead with Petco to stop helping these unethical, dishonest people take dogs from unsuspecting people and place them in unknown homes and doing adoption clinics in their stores. These dogs were not homeless, I had them up for adoption and trusted these people. I was told that I would have a say in where they were placed. If these people are that dishonest, what are they doing to the poor dogs.
Petco is the worst place to shop. I worked at store 534 in buena park,ca & the knowledge is unbearably non existant. The prices are marked up 20% more than other stores & only at msrp when they slap on a holiday special. Employees lack the sufficient knowledge to run the sales floor. They make the wrong give incorrect information ro customers all the time worst in the reptile section. The companion manager had told a customer that for her bearded dragon a good 85° on one side is good for day then turn off at night. Wrong! Beardeds like a hot spot of 100° on one side 80° on the cool side. Plus he didnt wantanyone wasting time on a hispanic. Bathrooms have been out of roilet sheets 3 weeks to.
I know this is a terrible time of year to ask a question, but what is that adorable dog on your commercial, the little tan one. Is he a specific breed or an accident? He's the cutest little dog I've ever seen. I don't usually like small dogs, but he's the exception. Thanks for the time....... Martha
Salt Lake City- A PetCo Manager, Erynn Gesink, in the South Jordan PetCo store and her mother, Becky Gesink, stole puppies from Margo Nielsen, a representative from a local dog rescue, C.A.R.E of Sevier Valley. Later when the C.A.R.E. representative took the Gesink’s to civil court to remove the dogs, both Becky and Erynn Gesink lied to Judge Balmforth of the South Jordan Justice Court, stating that Amor Animal Hospital (8576 South Redwood Road) had euthanized one of the puppies and the Gesink’s had given the other puppy to their neighbor. Erynn then implicated her boss, Andrew Flitdn, the South Jordan PetCo Manager, saying that he told her that she could keep the dogs and he would work things out with Margo, the representative for C.A.R.E. When Margo Nielsen checked with Amor Animal Hospital they stated that they never euthanized a puppy for the Gesink’s. A criminal case has been filed against Becky and Erynn Gesink for lying in open court and the South Jordan City Attorney has refused to move the case forward. Please help Margo Nielsen, the representative for C.A.R.E. of Sevier Valley, get a court order to help get these dogs returned to the rescue group where they can be placed in loving, caring homes. 7 Contact Margo Nielsen for detailed information on this case at 801-561-8159 or email margo.pet.adoptions@gmail.com
Store # 1158 - fish department is horrible! All the outdoor gold fish in tank were dead and Kevin, Mgr. of dog/cats said, they had overflow problem. Not over-flow - lack of people paying attention to what's going on in those fish tanks. Those tanks are very dirty; fish are eating other dead fish in tanks; the one tank where I usually purchase goldfish for my outdoor tank - there was literally over 100 fish laying on their sides; one of your people said they were "sleeping". I said,"they are not sleeping; they are DEAD and they are contaminating the other fish. I would not purchase fish from this store. This has been an on-going problem for over 3 months; the fish service is horrible. People suggest they will come and assist you and you never see them again. This is regarding STORE#1158 in Smoketree Commons, Palm Springs, CA. 92264. IF the fish are bad - I'd hate to see how the other animals really are??? What do we need there - the HEALTH DEPARTMENT? I EXPECT A RESPONSE FROM YOUR CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS OR I WILL HAVE THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT SENT. THIS OCCURRED AT 2:15PM PST 12 18 2011.
I use to work at Petco, an I've never been more happy.. now that I quit that evil corporation. They treated me like absolute shit, I would get the best reviews from customers and satisfaction an all that good stuff, but then my manager would tell me how horrible I was an tear me down until i was crying an tell me to get better. BUT, all the other groomers would tell me I was the best bather they've ever had and tried to get me to stay. I started getting weekly lectures about my performance, even though I had the highest sales percent in the store and worked there the shortest amount of time, what did I need to improve? I can't tell you, they told me I use my phone too much an don't work hard enough however, I didn't even own a phone at the time, but all the managers do is sit in the office... on their phones, an facebook making posts all day. I finally quit but my boyfriend still works there, an I still go in to shop for our puppy we just got. However, every time I go in, which mind you I'm just a customer now, they tell me I cause distractions in the store and need to leave, they wouldn't let my boyfriend check me out even though he was the only checker in the store, because they're horrible at managing the schedule and are always understaffed. They keep my bf just under 40 hours, up to 39.9 a week, so that they don't have to make him full-time and give him benefits even though they convinced him to quit his other job cause they wanted him full-time. When I was still working there, in the grooming salon, which is a separate part of the store from where he works, they started cutting our hours and saying we distracted eachother, even though we never talked at work, cause we live together, come on! So they cut all our hours down for no reason, an we almost couldn't pay our bills until I picked up another job. it gets better though, the managers are constantly stealing from the store, having their employees purposely cut open bags of expensive dog food so its "damaged" and an employee, or manager can take it home for free, as they do with many items. Petco is nothing but an evil corporation out to get money, they don't care about their customers or the animals that come in. I've had many horrible experiences at Petco and will never shop there or support them again.
The Petco here in San Antonio (125 NW Loop 410) is filthy!!!! The restroom had feces all over the toilet and blood as well. It was obvious by the dark ring in the toilet that it never gets cleaned. The sink was also filthy. I wanted to take a bath after walking into that restroom. Other parts of the store were dirty as well. The sink in the Auatics section had employee cups, filthy sink, and filthy counter. NEVER will I walk into a Petco store. PetsMart stores are spotless, so I will be shopping there.
We picked up a Shetland Sheepdog on August 6th and purchased a Petco Classic Kennel model 400 for her. It was completely assembled and we bought the pad that goes with it. At the register the pad was placed in the kennel and we returned home. About two weeks later we found a complete package of nuts and bolts in the kennel and it was opened with one bolt missing. Remember this was an assembled crate. We surly did not think the puppy ate it. Within the next week the puppy became very lethargic and there was something obviously wrong with her. We took her to the vet for X-rays and the colen and digestive tract was inflamed and there were pieces of dense material in the tract. Although it could not be identified it was suspected to be the bolt and it was being digested. I made a claim to Petco and had to follow up twice. We received a letter from them that after careful evaluation they have determined there was nothing wrong with the crate. No amount of reasoning with the customer service line helped. They simply repeated the same mantra "This is a Product problem" They simply would not take responsibility for their employees actions. My wife and I tallied up how much we have spend there in the past three months and it totals about $1600.00. We stopped our pet training classes midstream and will write it off. They will never receive another dime from us. There are other places to do business with that carry the same products. On the customer service scale I rate them a zero.
We had our two dogs, an 11 year old westie and a 9 year old cocker, groomed at the Petco in Midvale, Utah. Our westie was obviously bitten by a much, much larger dog while in their care. She had bite marks three places on the top of her head. I have taken photos and forwarded to the corporate office. However, I first tried to talk with the local store manager and the groomer to find out what happened. It was never my intent to have someone lose their job, get my money back or even cause much of a ruckus...I simply wanted some honesty about what happened! I was told "nothing" happened while she was in their care. By the time we got her home she had started bleeding and was absolutely terrified. The store manager refused to give me his email address so I could forward photos and he was leaving for the day so he wouldn't even stay for us to come back to have them look at her. The corporate office sent me a very "I'm sorry" email after I contacted them and sent them photos. I was told the "regional sales manager" would be in touch and in their words they were "mortified" by the photos. When I did not hear from anybody I emailed the office again. They informed me the manager had made contact with us and we were satisfied with the outcome! I was NOT contacted and was certainly NOT satisfied with any part of what happened. Three days later I rec'd a call from the store manager, not the regional sales manager. This is the same man who refused to stay late and refused to give me his email address! His apology went something like this: "I am very sorry you had a perceived problem at our groomer. I can assure you our clients dogs never come in contact with one another. But, I'll tell you what I'm going to do...The next time you visit our store ask for me and I'm not going to give you 10%, I'm not going to give you 20%, I am going to give you 30% OFF OF ANY ONE ITEM!!" I was absolutely speechless! Seriously?? This is how these people do business?? I did follow up with an email to the same corporate person who I'd written previously..but have never heard a word back. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER...would I give this store or organization another dime of my money! I hope they hear the public..because from what I've read from other consumers and customers...they are doing a pretty poor job of customer service!!
Recently I purchased a kitten from Petco for 150$. I went over his medical records before i made the decision, and also took him to the vet not even 24 hrs later. Turns out the kitten had coccidia ,giardi( worms ), and upper respitatory infection.I gladly paid for medicine to have him healthy. The kitten continued to sneeze continuously, and I started to notice a weird patch of missing hair above his eye. I again took him to the vet and footed another 150$ bill. The kitten also has ring worm, and ear mites. I have other pets and i do not know if they have been affected. How is this possible that i can purchase a 150$ cat, and have 5 highly contagious infections?? Does any one have advice on how i should proceed. I have contacted the manager, and they are contacting the adoption agency. I need help, I wasnt expecting to have to pay over 600$ for this. please help.
I want someone to email me asap in regards to my return. Ohheather@aol.com
I tried to place an order at Petco.com Paypal made the payment, then reverted me back to Petco's check out counter. "processing order . . . " ran for 1 1/4 hours. I called Petco after 15 minutes. Got disconnected from first service rep after 15 minutes. I called back, another hour on the phone with a rep, Harry, in the Phillipines. Requested to be transferred to the US, he wouldn't do that. Then he wanted a credit card number, after PayPal confirmed payment. Found out after being on the phone for an hour that this PayPal/Petco issue has been known about for days. Why didn't they fix the problem or put a message on the website not to use PayPal????? Never did get my order processed after 1 1/4 hours!!!!! All this after I went to the local Petco who didn't have the fish food and bird food that I wanted (normally stocked on their shelves). I'll move on to another company, there's a mom & pop pet store 15 miles away. I'll keep my money and people employed in the US thank you!!!
be sure to check pets for fleas before you buy one and take it home they will clam that thier store do not have fleas even besides letting people bring thire pets to roam thru the store how do we know there not i bought a ferret from petco 7 days later 3 cats ichin also ferret at my home logic petco tells me to return it wont give u flea soap uhh to late house contaminated
Called 877 738 6743 to place an order for an Ocenic Bio Cube aquarium 29 gallon to find out it was out of stock. I inquired about placing the order and once the product came in could they just ship it to me, which I guess is not possible. You would think as a major corporation this would be possible! But what even made this worst for me it the user on the other line could NOT speak English! At that point I requested the corporate office number which was give to me; the user stated you'll just be transfer back to us. I called the corporate office 858 453 7845 to only be direct right back to the non speaking English user. To make a long story short I’ll just go to PETSMART!
Why is Petco advertising they have jobs and then they don't hire?
I WILL NEVER STEP INSIDE ANOTHER PETCO STORE AGAIN AFTER WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE DROWNED ANIMALS! I SHOPPED AND GROOMED MY DOGS THERE, BUT AFTER WHAT I SAW ON THE NEWS, THIS IS NOT A PLACE THAT I WANT NEAR MY ANIMALS! THE CEO SHOULD BE FIRED! GOOD BYE!
Thanks Petco, I can no longer afford any food for my herps. Four medium sized toads. Before today, I had to go to my local Petco in Pittsford New York twice a week and buy 100 large, feeder crickets for them which used to cost $8.00 for 100. I went in today, Sept 10, 2011 and picked some up. The register worker rung them up and the price is now $14.00 for the same amount of crickets. I'm OUTRAGED by the price! Now I can't afford to feed my pets aymore. I live BELOW, yes, you read that corectly, the poverty line. I could barely afford the $14.00 per week total that I paid before. Just to get that. I don't get any other kind of suplimentle income. You've lost a once loyal customer.
The Petco in Johnson City, NY lost animals in the floods from Tropical Storm Lee. The argument being made is that "there were no signs of flooding or a flood warning in effect." That would, of course, explain why the employees were evacuated at 5 PM on Wednesday, Sept. 8. The animals were left behind to drown. Strangely enough, Pet Depot did evacuate its animals. I can only pray that the Petco animals are now feeling the love they never had in their short lives. I think a review of business ethics is in order for the store manager and corporate headquarters. Shame on you!
Just wanted to say how much my dogs and I have benefited from the dog training classes at our store at 41st and Yale in Tulsa. One of my dogs was a real challenge and we learned so much from the trainers there. It was also very nice to have a second trainer for small groups who needed extra training in a particular skill while the first trainer could carry on with the rest of the group. I've been to other pet supply stores where the training area is a little ring right out in the middle of the store. I know my "challenging" fur child would have a lot of trouble with the distraction of people walking by all the time. He would want to meet EVERYONE. Plus, his favorite part of class is the agility exercises and I don't see how they can incorporate that aspect in the small space allocated in other pet stores. Because of the training classes, I started buying a gluten-free dog food and all my treats at Petco, too. My trainer recommended these items and it's so convenient to pick them up while I'm there. We also started getting both dogs groomed there and the groomers just love my dogs. When we call to reserve, they are so excited that my dogs are coming in. Keep up the good work!
I have recently have been hired at my local PETCO in Florida. I am originally from California and moved here to experience a slower paced lifestyle. Although the economy plays a big part in applying and interviewing with large box stores for jobs that still offer benefits. I started thinking outside the box and focus on the little things that touch my heart strings.....and came up with the wonderful idea of working with animals. This has been a love of mine all my life. Thinking back throughout my childhood of all the wonderful critters that I have experienced in my life. From the regulars .....Dogs and cats....to Horses, Pigs, Monkeys, Goats, Chinchillas, Myna Birds, Cockatiels and Parrots. We even got to babysit a bottle fed Baby Lion. Oh my!!! So with keeping with the inherted animal lovers heart I set out to change my focus on becoming a Companion Animal Department Manager. What a wonderful career change for me. I have also worked for Habitat for Humanity, in Corona, CA. This was a job I really enjoyed, because of the wide appeal for a non profit to give back to its community. So with that in mind I was very pleased to see that Petco has a non profit Foundation called Tree of Hope. What a wonderful way for me to feel that my working for PETCO makes it possible for communities to care for the animals enough to pay for the bedding, vet care and feed the animals until they get that loving home. I care for every animal that comes through our doors.....I am ready with a cookie and love to look into there eyes and know that I can help with just the small things like making sure that they have what they need to take home for there new puppy......That is the beginning of there long, loving relationship with there new family. I am also quick to inform them when our next Portrait Setting is, as well as the Low-Cost Vaccination Clinic and the Dog Training Schedule. And I look forward to there next visit!!! I Love working here.......and maybe you should think outside of the BOX!!!!
