First off I would like to agree with everyone that says Pepboys should be put out of business. on Nov. 4th I took my car in and got a new fuel pump and alternator done which cost over $800. Lucky me I had a warranty on my vehicle so I had to pay $79 $50 ded. plus taxes. A month later I hit a pothole and of course took it back to Pepboys where I came out my Pocket over $350 I had them examine the car to make sure nothing else was wrong, which they so-called did and told me everything was OK. A week later my other side broke never hit another pothole or anything just parking in front of my house lucky me again right. I called them they said to bring it up there I will have to pay for a tow and any other service I have done so I decided to take it to another shop which charged me 50% less than what they did it for exact same thing just the other side. (and the shop was certified). Now this past Friday I'm riding to take my child home and my car went out again. I had my neighborhood mechanic look at it and he said its the fuel pump. To my shock the date was Feb. 10th 2011. I t was only 3 months I replaced it. So I call to Pepboys to let them know the situation I tell them its been a couple days after 3 months so they try to tell me I only had a 3 month warranty. So now I'm pissed. I get someone to loan me a car and I go threw my papers little do they know I keep track of that type of stuff and their it is right in my face 12month on labor 12 month on parts. So I call them back give them my info to pull up the service and ask for a manager. He didnt know I had my papers so I explained to him my situation and what happened so he tell me the same I can get my car fixed but will have to pay $189 for labor. So I tell him I have the warranty on the labor he says he dont see it, so I hope in the car go to the location and show them the papers. Now all of a sudden they see it in their computers. So this pissed me off so much I took it to another Pepboys to get surviced. So they did the test and told me what I already know "its the fuel pump" Ok I left them with the papers they said they will start on it the next morning. Come the next day I call to check on it without hearing from them and they say again we checked it its the fuel pump. Then they ask do u want me to do service I say yes I have warranty from your company at a different location he says ok let me check and I'll call you back. After 2 hours of not hearing from them I call again and guess what they say..(yes u know)"its the fuel pump" so again I'm pissed I tell them to start on my car today and asked for a manager to tell him the same so he say will have them do. Next thing I know they call and say we can work on your car til they get the OK from my warranty company that paid for it and its Saturday and they closed. I ask Y do u need to talk to them the warranty is with your company so again they tell me that they have to get the OK from my warranty company because they paid it.(which makes no since if my mother paid it would they have to get her permission to work on the car again.) So I asked for corporate number and they give me their tow service 800-pep-boys. So I do research call the real corporate but its Sat. they closed so I call them back and ask for a manager again they switched to 4 diferent people then tried to give me a manager number but was the same number to their location so I tell him thats how I got you on the phone with this number. He puts me on hold then come back and say he spoke with a manager and they will now honor the warranty. Now its 4 cars ahead of mine and I wont be able to get mine til maybe 12 tomorrow. Now I'm scared they might mess something else up on the car, but I cant afford to go anywhere else to get whats supposed to be fixed fixed again This is OUTRAGEOUS....They will never get another dime from me..I will let my car sit before I pay for any of there services. Monday morning corporate will receive a call from me letting them know how displeased I am with there company..And I'm also looking into small claims court. FUCKED UP ASS COMPANY

I WANTED SOME WHEELS THEY HAVE ON DISPLAY THEY SAID THEY ARE DISCONTINUED AND ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO BE PURCHASED WHY ARE THEY ON DISPLAY? I ASKED TO BUY THE DISPLAY'S, I WAS TOLD NO BECAUSE THEY NEEDED THE DISPLAY AND THEY COULDNT GET ANOTHER ONE FOR DISPLAY! WHY DO YOU NEED TO DISPLAY SOMETHING THAT I CANNOT BUY? THAT IS THE DUMBEST S*** I EVER HEARD!!! THEY ARE RUDE AND WORTHLESS!!! I WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER SHOP A PEP BOYS AGAIN!!

The services at the Pep Boys in Westchester, Ca. is very poor I took my truck to have them check the bakes. I was told i would get a call in one hour which i didn't get so i called again to find out the status of my truck and i was told by Oscar or Will that they didn't know what was wrong with brakes but they would call me in an hour. i waited for two hours and still did not get a call back so i called again and they said they were still trying to find out what was wrong with truck. I finaly got a call back 5 hours later from Oscar or Will stating the truck would have to stay over nignt. i called the following marning and i was told by (Osar or Will that they would have to get some parts from the Toyota dealer. I was told the truck would be ready on that date. The cost would be $470. i called again and asked what time the truck would be ready and i was told by Oscar or Will that the truck would not be ready until Thursday. when i took the truck in on Monday and the cost would now be $840. This type of business practices give Pep Boys a bad name. if i would of knoun the kind of games they were playing. i would have not considered taking truck to Pep Boys but at this point it's too late and will have to deal with them. I can tell this much "I never ever go near a Pep Boys store again.!!!

RE: PepBoys GEMoney credit card - first let me say that I've been a Loyal customer of PepBoys for over 15 years & have always recieved Good & Propfessional service. --that said----- I just recieved my PepBoys statement in the mail & was SHOCKED to see that GEMoney will be raising the Interest rate, starting in 2011, to an ASTONDINDING 29.99%..!!!! ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????? WHAT?! are they thinking...?? are they really doing this??? ---------------------- people like me who ALWAYS pay ontime & ALWAYS overpay my amount Due should be OUTRAGED at this treatment. so------------------ as of Jan 2011..me & my family will be cutting up our PepBoys credit cards, & will NEVER step inside of a PepBoys again. I urge anyone who is thinking of appling for a PepBoys credit card to NOT DO IT! This is OUTRAGOUS!!!!! as far as I'm concerned ...PepBoys No Longer Exists & will never recieve 1-more penny from my family.

I used Pepboys' feedback form on their website. Surprisingly, I got a callback the next day from the service manager. He apologized, and wanted to make amends. So perhaps someone is paying attention at Pepboys corporate---That is good news! I like Pepboys, that is why I was so disappointed on that troublesome day. However, I give credit to the fact that I got a response, an apology, and felt like they did not want to loose my patronage, so I'll probably give them another go in the future. Try the response form on their website, but use it responsibly, maybe it will work for you. Good luck!

I took my car in for an oil change and wheel alignment. They said it would take about an hour and half. I expect them to call me, no call. I call, and they said, oh, we just finished the oil change, but didn't know the alignment was backed-up, so we are doing it now...it will be ready in about an hour. No call. I gave them an extra hour, and decided to go over. They take forever to acknowledge me--much like when I first walked in (terrible feeling to be ignored and not even acknowledged). I told them I'm here for my car, and they look at me like I inconvenienced them. "Did someone call you?," they say. I say, "no." "It should be ready by now, according to what I was told earlier." They disappear into the garage, and later come out, telling me it's not ready yet. I say when, they say I don't know. I get upset, I need a straight answer, what is the issue? Finally, they tell me the wheel alignment machine is having problems, they were supposed to get a new one this week. Wow! they knew there was a problem, didn't tell me, and kept me waiting the whole time! For what? To get me in the door for the oil change? I don't know what they were thinking--but I was not getting good customer service! Simply terrible! I expect timeliness, I expect to be acknowledged, I expect to be given straight answers, and I expect respectfulness of my time, and I expect call backs! I got none of that. The only person that gave me any hint of concern, was not in power to do anything about the situation. The service manager didn't even talk to me. The ticket writer's job seemed to be done when my car was in the door...Who is running that store in La Habra, CA? Does corporate even care that I am unhappy?

I went to pep boys to get a relay for my car. It didn't show up in the list of parts but because I had it with me the guy went to see if he could match it up. He found and exact fitting one. When i went home I checked the part on the internet. I needed a turn signal relay, the one in the box, or what should have been in the box showed as a headlight dimmer relay Part R649Z. When I went to return it the manager told me it's not a pep boys part in the box and it was from an auto. Showed scratchs and india on part. I looked at it when I bought it but didn't realize its not the pep boys part. So they wouldn't give me my money back. It's only $15 so they can keep it. I'll not go to Pep boys anymore. There are advanced auto parts and autozone nearby and I'll go to them in future. Its not the managers fault someone switched them but I don't trust them anymore. I wouldn't doubt it was switched by the service dept in the store.

I was driving my sons car from Florida to Maine for him and lost my brakes on I95. Was towed from Maryland welcome center to Laurel MD pep boys arriving at 2:30 pm friday october 1st. Car examined and was told they would have it fixed and have me on the road by 9pm 10/1 for a wopping $856.00. At 8:30 that night was advised that they needed to order parts and they would get me on my way on 10/2 by 12 noon so I went to a near by motel. I let them know I had to get to Maine asap and my flight back to FL would leave from ME on tuesday 10/5.Theres not enough room on this site to go into the details of what transpired but to make a long story short, they ordered the wrong parts 3 times (and blamed me a 51 year old woman for this) the manager and district manager were rude condicending, call me a liar, shouted at me in the store in front of customers and brought me to tears.And the real kicker is that the whole time they were ordering the parts 3 times mind you, they had them right there in the store to begin with.They did offer a lousy 10% discount, never did offer an apology or show any empathy for my situation a 51 year old woman stranded for 4 days while pepboys orders wrong parts all the while blaming me for not knowing the correct parts to order. this cost me $1400.00 plus with hotels, rescheduling flights, missing work ect.They then offered a $150.00 money order to be mailed to me, which I never recieved, and when I called them they again tried to insinuate that I was being dishonest ant it was delivered oct 12. Well pepboys I never recieved this money order and will now focus on letting everyone I know about this ordeal and I will ask them to share this with others as well. After all I really dont want any other old ladys to end up going through what I went through. and for the record ZERO STARS

omg.. got a tranny flush because the vechile was sitting for awhile and i was going to need to start driving it.. BAD IDEA!!! about 2-3 days after flush i didnt really drive it in those days only a twice to store less than mile away. well me and fiance went to chula vista on a friday on way back we smelled something funny when we get home he saw it was pour tranny fluid from the gasket we took it straight to pepyboys on the way there i couldnt even go over 5 mph. so we get the we look at it with mechanic. they called and said gasket blew you were correct and it lost about a gallon fluid. which we knew it lost alot we had trails from when we parked it that night. we go there everything was ok they acknowleadge the loss of fluid even saying about a GALLON!!! was lost the gasket blew and re did it all with no charge obviously. i get in to go home and i can just tell its not right heard a loud knocking noise coming from like right under seat. we drive it straight back it sits there after a few bullshit.. and have to drive it striaght from pepboys to tranyy company who said a documented loss of fluid and pressure caused the damage which is going to be approx. 2500 - 3500 to fix... and i already got the tranny done approx. 14,000 miles ago paid $ 3,800.00 this vechile was my baby with all of money invested into it. when i left pepboys they told me to come back and we can start claim process. after 3 weeks of goin into pepboys to see what is going on and the guy hiding from me. i talk to representive and she says denied supposly when we took it back it never lost any fluid or any problem.. r u F Kidding me!!! go back to talk to the guy and a total different story i told the guy i will see him in court he said Ive been there plenty of times i was like im sure you have... there is cameras in the story i cant believe they are running a bussiness like this and it sucks to see how many people and getting screwed by them.. im going to continue to fight it.. wish me luck!!!!!!!

PEP BOYS SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS!!! WE TOOK OUR TRUCK IN FOR A SIMPLE BRAKE JOB AND NOW WE ARE UNABLE TO LIVE OUR LIFE DUE TO THEIR NEGLIGENCE! IT HAS BEEN 3 YEARS AND STILL NO COMPENSATION OR CONTACT.JUST TRY TO CONTACT THEM AND SEE THEY HIDE BEHIND A CURTAIN. THEY LET AN 18 YEAR OLD WORK ON OUR VEHICLE AND HE OVERTIGHTENED THE BEARINGS AND WE WERE ALMOST KILLED ON THE INTERSTATE. THEY HAVE NO MORAL VALUE AND THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!! BEWARE, TAKE YOUR VEHICLE SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I would not even give them one star. Pep boys of Greensburg on route 30 said on 11/28/2010 that it would take 2hours to wait for 6 other customers a head of me this was 1:30 pm. They made us wait till 6:30 pm and they was supposed to install 4 tires and two front hydrogen lights in which they did the tires and refuse to do the lights. At 5:30pm our children was getting tired and we just asked for our keys back because at that time the truck was not even seen. The man refused to give my wife her keys back and said they will eventually get to doing my truck. You'd think that the morals would kick in when you have a 19 year old teenager in need of help when they were out driving alone. I recommended the tow company take her car to the PepBoys at 71 Semoran in Orlando, Florida. There she met the Service Manager Eric and he must be the creep of all creeps. He hit her in the head for a $1400 estimate for a radiator. He quoted her for new motor mounts, tires (her tires were illegal) the radiator and an extended warranty. She was in tears. Of course when Mom (me) called Eric, he had to figure out what he tried to sell her and said the other items were "recommendations" but to get the car on the road it would cost her $605. This is still really high for a Radiator. I called two other Pep Boys in the Orlando area and checked their price for the same job (their pricing is standardized). Ironically two other stores quoted me the exact same price of $425 for the job. We had her car re-towed out of there and to a private mechanic at our expense. When the teenager went to pay the evaluation fee of $37 to have the car picked back up, he began yelling at her and told her that "her mom was accusing him of trying to take advantage of her" She responded that "it not her fault that she has parents who won't just let people take advantage of her"...I love that! He offered to do the job for $387.50 (which is in alignment with the other stores) but who would trust a man like that? So from $1400 to $387.50...I think it goes without saying that Eric at the 71 Semoran Boulevard Store in Orlando is a sleeze ball and should be ashamed of trying to take advantage of a 19 year old girl. Buyer beware!

By the way, the private mechanic said there was nothing wrong with her tires or motor mounts.

Pep boys doesn't even deserve one star. My car stalled on the road a few days ago and I took it to pep boys. They charged me 89 dollars for a diagnostic and then told me after a couple hours that it needed a tune up and fuel filter replaced. I said thats what's wrong with the vehicle? They said that would take care of the problem. But that it also needed hub bearings on the front tires which would be close to a thousand dollars. I said wow lets hold off on the hub bearings right now. I need the car to work and not stall on me and later we can do the hub bearings because I can't afford paying almost 1500 right now. When I went in to pay them I asked to see the parts and they said "Oh I'm sorry we threw them in the dumpster". So I paid almost $400 dollars for the tune up and fuel filter and I left. As I started to drive it, it felt the same as when I dropped it off if not worse. Well, I go to work today and the car stalls on the highway and I literally almost get into an accident on a major busy highway. I took it to another mechanic today (Auto Tech) and he looked at it and said I needed a tune up, that the spark-plugs placed in my truck where the incorrect type and could result in damaging my engine/catalytic converters,etc. I said what the heck are you talking about?! I just did a tune up a few days ago with pep boys! The Mechanic (Auto Tech) said, "your kidding?! well they put in the wrong ones - they weren't platinum and they are cheap and not recommended for your Ford truck, also they didn't replace the Boots which are all in very bad shape. So I had to pay Auto Tech $390 dollars to change the spark-plugs AND the Boots to the correct ones. Now while driving it, it seems its driving well after Auto Tech fixed the screw up that pep boys did! So I'm out almost $800 for a tune up AND I lost money from work today too, because I had to call in due to the car stalling on me. By the way, Auto Tech said I didn't need Hub Bearings - that there's nothing wrong with them! I will NEVER go to Pep boys again and I will NEVER recommend Pep Boys to anyone. SHAME ON THEM for cheating people. In fact - I'm going to contact my local News channel so they can PUBLICLY bring attention to the terrible and dishonest service that pep boys gives. SHAME ON YOU AGAIN.

0 Zero Stars ** i went to the store in Sandy UT on 7th east the job was to get the front bearing press in the hub assambly about an a hour job is you know what you;re doing it took the 5 hrs the damaged the bearing during the installation and crack the spidle when removing the old bearing the assitant manager Julian said that is how how the job is done and the TIMKEN Bearing was defective that why is lose.. i'm filing a dispute with the BBB is they dont get it right *** TECHS DO NOT CARE STAFF WONT TAKE OWENERSHIP ***

I'll keep this one simple and short. Don't spend your money, time or effort on this piece of crap company! They are cheating bastards and WILL TAKE ALL OF YOUR MONEY! The techs. don't know what they are doing, they don't even trouble shoot the problem, they just keep changing parts until the problem is solved or until you are flst broke! The managers must take some kind of a lying course and will continue to fail until they become "pro B S-ers." They truly are a P-O-S in the true meaning of the words! Keep your cars away from them, they'll last longer!

I recently took my 2000 lincoln town car into pep boys store in north richland hills tx. the water manifold was cracked and caused an hot water issue. that was fine and i okayed the deal which was quoted at 1500.00 which i okayed the replacement of the top water manifold which priced at a ford dealer as a 500.00 hundred part and the labor at 5 hours the five hour job has turned into a 5 day job and the car will hardley run. they have made all kind of excuses from the injectorst to a bad transmisson and now i took pep boys a car that was running perfectly and now i am 1149.oo paid for them to screw up so bad and the trouble is they don't know themselves what to do other than lie to me and low ball my car as junk. i dont have enough space to tell you all the things that were my fault and lie to me. xxxxxxxxxx poor that a business has to do this to people who put their trust in them. I would strongly suggest that not put your trust in them for they seem to be very decietful in their stores from all the things i have read on line. I have been a frequent shopper and loyal longstanding customer of Pep Boys located in West Philadelphia for over ten years. Mauriece, GM and James, Service Manager are truly the best leaders in the entire chain. They set a postive tone, which creates a positive shopping/service experience. Andre and Carl are great at delivering "word class" service to ensure that each customer leaves satisfied. And (Kobe) don't know the young man's name but he renders exceptional service and always has the right attitude. I will continue to recommend your Pep Boys store to everybody I come in contact with all over philadelphia & NJ surrounding areas. Fred D. 215.768.1619
