My name is Maria and I was in your store in Riverside CA on Canyon Springs Pkwy Wednesday Octber5,2011. I was waiting in line at the fitting rooms to try on my costume when I heard yelling behind the curtain. I felt bad for the girl working the fitting rooms because of the very loud yelling that was coming from the girl in the back room. She was being very loud and very disrespectful to the person that she was yelling at. All of the other customers behind me could hear her also. I proceeded to go to the front registers to pay for my costume and she was at the registers being very loud and talking about how she was in charge in front of the other cashiers and the customers and she didn't seem to care about how loud she was being. She was being very disrespectful and unprofessional. I believe that her name is Julia. Apparently this Julia thinks that she is the store manager....someone needs to remind what her position is in that store or better yet remove her. She was very loud, rude, disrespectful and entirely out of control when she was in the back room yelling at whom I'm assuming was the manager and continuing this kind of behavior at the registers made her look even worse. This was the first time that I had been in that store and I'm pretty sure that Party City looks the way it does due to the direction of the store manager....so I'm pretty sure he knows what he is doing and I feel bad for him that he has someone like that being insubordinate to the manager. WHO does she think she is?? I think that she said the name Manny or Danny...she was talking so fast that I wasn't sure of the name. The store looked awesome for halloween and everyone else eas great with the exception of her. I also filed this same complaint at the website for partycity.com where it said "contact us".
This company has absolutely the WORST customer service both in the store AND online! For my sons 3rd birthday, he wanted to do a Mickey Mouse party. Ok, no problem Party City it is. Well I get there the store has nothing but the bare minimum, there's no associates to ask for help because they're all too damn busy talking, texting and doing everything but their job. I go online, order my items only to find out that even with my 20% off coupon my order is STILL 3 times as much needed for the $2.99 shipping but I can only use 1 promo code! Whats the point of having a 20% off coupon if the shipping completely negates it? On top of that, the ultimate party pack that I needed is no longer available & now I have to purchase everything separately. So I called customer service, I spoke to Anne first and explained the whole situation. While I understand the system only allows for one coupon at a time, I don't think its fair to rip off people with extremely gross shipping fees just because your online products are not carried in stores! Anne said she would MANUALLY adjust the shipping to 2.99 credit my card $11.96 for the shipping fee as a one time courtesy from Party City. I said "great! Thanks for your help!" and called her back when I placed my order. She didn't pick up the phone, or return my phone call and left me sitting by my phone for FOUR hours. When I finally did get a hold of her, she said "oh well now we have to wait until the order ships". Great, I called again when my order had shipped so she could manually enter the shipping and she still did not pick up the phone. I called her yesterday and left two voicemails and she STILL did not return my calls. I finally get a hold of customer service today and she refused to come to the phone and told her coworker to tell me she wouldn't do it and to go elsewhere. I also spoke to Peter a manager and Nicole a customer service rep who were both incredibly obnoxious, unhelpful, rude & cut me off mid sentence to tell me "oh well too bad!" Well too bad for PC, but this customer is returning my entire order & taking my money elsewhere! Walmart has the same exact products at a LESSER fee AND does free site to store shipping! I'm not asking for FREE shipping, I'm asking for reasonable shipping. Is it my fault that your store near me doesn't carry anything? No. Or that your company refuses to do site to store shipping like Walmart? No. But as punishment for your store not carrying what I need, I have to pay $15 in shipping fees? Even when my order is 3 times as much necessary for the $2.99 shipping??? Thats insane! And to be spoken to with that amount of disrespect and horrible customer service......is that what I should expect from Party City?
I haven't even received my order yet and I'm already upset. First, they charged me for shipping even though the promotion stated FREE shipping. Second, no response as yet from the email I sent to their customer service. Last, but not least, I just discovered I have two charges on my credit card .... one for the order amount and another for a totally different amount. I just hope the order arrives on time as it is for my daughter's baby shower. I will NEVER order online from this company again.
August 16, 2011 Party city has the WORST customer service EVER……. MOTO: Shop online – Party city is a waste of time…… I called the corporate office of Party City to get an issue resolved regarding a return I tried to make in the Orange Ct store last week and I still have not received a response. On my visit to your store on Sunday August 8, 2011 I proceeded to return items unopened and not used after a party I threw for my son. My issue came about when the young lady (acting manager) sorry didn’t get her name, stated that I had to receive a store credit for my purchases because I paid with both store credit and visa. I said why, my receipt clearly shows I paid with visa, why wouldn’t I be able to get my refund on my visa, her response was that it was store policy, so I said where is that stated? She said it’s not, that how I was trained. With shock on my face, I said that ridiculous; let me have your corporate number to get this issue rectified. Who would have thought the corporate office would be a waste of time. On Monday August 9th, I’ve called the corporate number 973 453 8600 and left numerous message for assistance and receive no response. On Tuesday August 10, 2011 about 12 noon I received a call from Sherry, who listened to my complain, took my information and stated that I would hear from someone within 48 hrs; it will only take longer if staff was on vacation, I said okay, that fine I'll wait, just remember my receipt is valid threw August 21st. She said don’t worry someone will call you. Well it’s been week, and I have yet to hear from anyone at the corporate office, so today August 16, 2011 I tried calling that trusty corporate office again and again I got nothing but answering machines for the receptionist and customer service WT (BLEEP). Frustrated and very annoyed, I can’t believe what poor customers service that has been displayed by this company. I then took a chance and called the Store # 591 – 292 Boston Post Road, Orange Ct directly to speak with a manager, regarding my issue. I spoke with the manager Victor, who stated that he was sorry for the inconvenience and he would take care of this situation for me. Thank you Thank you Victor. I am so grateful and please that my issue was going to be handled, but it’s really very dishearten that I had to deal with such nonsense from the store staff and the lack of customer service from the corporate office. Thank goodness for online shopping, cause I will no longer be shopping at Party City. MOTO: Shop online – Party city is a waste of time……
I was in the third ave chula vista,CA location today. I went in to buy a big balloon for my daughters birthday. The associate Sandra was extremely rude including the manager on duty. It all started when I asked her a question and she told me to read the sign instead of simply answering my question. After I had paid for my item, I noticed the balloon clearly needed more helium. She refused to do it, and started raising her voice. She said if she added more helium it was my responsibilty and she was not going to give me another one or my money back. She was laughing with her co-workers most of the time. I told them after the way they treated me I didnt want anything. They said it was impossible to fix the situation, ans that the only solution was to keep it as is. I didnt settle, when I asked for the corporate number they decided to give me store credit. They said it could only be used at that location. I am still not happy. Its not fair that employees like that should get away with that. I too work in customer service and know how a customer should be treated.
I used to work for this company..this is very sad to see all the horrible comments. However I believe they did a lot better before Party City took over :(
I visited the Plymouth Meeting, PA location this morning only to be greated at the check out counter by an extremely miserable sales clerk who barked "PAY OVER THERE" I waited why she emptied some balloons out of a box then proceed to ring up my purchase. I handed her my cash and she gave me my change all the while just starring me me down as she wanted to say something but is was not surely and "THANK YOU" as one would expect from a sales clerk. I left knowing that I would take the time to call the store manager but after reading all the comments listed, I decided it would not help. Look at these comments.. If corporate doesn't care about the stores then why would the store manager and forget even thinking about the minimun wage clerk...they could care less if you come back again. Less work for them.

I have been a customer with Party City for 13 years now and there are thing's that goes on in Party city that make's me want to take my business else where. I been shopping at the Party City on 14th st and White plain rd and those two are way different from each other. I know most of everybody at both Party City but the Party City in the Bronx's on White Plain RD the Manger's there are very disrespectful and very inappropriate and I beleive the manger's there are New to this location. I believe one of the mangers name is Juan and The other manger name I am unsure of but what I do know is that they do not know how to speak to their employee there and that is very unfair. The Party City at White Plain rd need new manger and there are still employee's there that should have been manger's already cause they have been there the longest. I hope that the right person read's this comment and make some changes to that location and hire the right person for the manger's position. Due that I spent money at all the Party City I feel I have the right to speak up and I am a taxs payee. THANK YOU DR.REESE
Your stores are great and i give yall a five.BUT! Corp has to check into the store hours on the website for the store at E Ellsworth Ave 14160 Aurora Co on the webpage the hours are different from the ones posted on the door why is that. It's kinda frustrating to get to a store and come to find out they are not open when the website advertise the time they should be open. Thanks, Juaquin Almanza
Again is all your stores open at 9:30 Corp check into your website and stop False advertising i came Aroura because it was closer to my house and it opens at 9:30 NOT 8 also i check in at oher stores here in Aurora and what do you Know They are open at 9:30 AS WELL!
I ordered a Grad Celebration Mega Party Kit online for my son's high school graduation. I received it in good time, opened the box, examined the merchandise, but did not count out each item. In a party kit for 50, there were only 20 invitations (instead of the 50 promised). Tehy sent 9 oz. paper cups instead of the 12 oz plastic cups advertised. No one will answer my email, and I have no choice at this late date but to go purchase additional invitations and supplies elsewhere. I understand that mistakes happen, but there's no excuse for not responding to customer inquiries and trying to make the situation right. I WILL NOT order from you again!
I cannot believe the experience I had at the party city in valencia, California on saturday. Horrible rude and unprofessional customer service. I purchases NFL balloons online (had to pay for shipping). I was told I inflation was free. I get to the store. I had to wait forever. Only one person on the floor. Manager CHARGED ME FOR INFLATION. She ripped one of my NFL BALLOONS. I was very angry because I had exactly the amount I needed. She NEVER apologized and I asked her to curl the string of my balloons...she said they do not do that at the store but she has some scissors I could use...I have never had such a HORRIBLE experience at any store before..
i worked at the party city in rivergate nash tn it is the worse place to work also considering the managers are very rude to the employees my check was short 80 dollars 2 times they never paid me they kept saying theyll look into it think twice before you shop there
Ice been working at party city for 3 years and just noticed I have a 401k retirement plan when I have never signed up for one. Wanted to know how to remove it before it continues to take money that I didn't agree for.
Party City treats there employees like dirt. I worked there for years, it's like your not people your just there to make sure they get every dime they can get there hands on. They dont pay you enough for all the work they expect of you. They are constently cutting hour and making rules like the manager throwing ribbon at you and telling you "trim your ribbon." and then tells you to clean it up. Worse company to work for.

I was shopping at the bradenton fl party city with my son and witnessed the management treating one of there employees unfairly! after they made a simple mistake of ringing something up twice. I told them it wasnt a big deal as long as it was corrected mistakes happen. But they continued to make a scene over the employee. dealing with it the wrong way! the cashier that this happened to began to tear up apologizing for her mistake, but this didnt make them any leniant towards the employee. I believe this store needs some new managers if they cant deal with there employees appropriately! wont be coming back to this store.
I was at the Virginia Beach Princess Anne store on Monday, March 14 at approx 7 pm. We were ordering balloons for a birthday. They need to have some training in customer service. They had the worst attitudes for a "party" store that I have ever ever seen--with the exception of the man working there that same time.
Dear Party City Corporation: Today I visited the party city located on Fairmont in Pasadena, TX and cannot believe the poor customer service that I had received. I had taken my children to purchase their Halloween costumes and the employee who assisted us was very unprofessional and rude. She was making very nasty faces and gave my children and I attitude the entire time, acting as though she did not know what the number of the costume we had requested nor the size of the costume. The employee's name was Brecca, which was also being VERY rude and unprofessional towards party city's customers by telling them to " move, move out of my way". She was also acting very impatient by sighing and muttering under her voice. After complaining to the manager about the incident, the manager refused to release any complaint information to corporate. She refused to give me a number or even a mailing address to report the incident. I am very displeased with the customer service I received today and would recommend that you really take the time to know exactly who you are hiring to represent your store, even if it is temporary!
