I have been working for Party City since October 2,2011 and I must admit it has been one of the worst experiences of my life. It is my first job and although it is perfect for my character and skills, my paychecks are constantly short the correct amount of money. My manager refused to give me a print out of my hours for the entire month of October,and whe i further pushed the matter he simply stated that I had begun work on an off week and that my pay would should look better the following pay period. It was much more on the next paycheck, due to the fact that I clocked more hours that week than the previous. My check did not appear to be offset. (whenn i say check i am referring to the paycard that we are REQUIRED* to use, hence I get no pay stubs.) However on the most current payperiod I received far less than what I had calculated according to the amount of hours I had worked. It was short about one weeks worth of pay. I once again contacted my manager and confronted him on the repetitiveness of its nature. He immediately retrieved my total hours for the month and proceeded to inform me that they had only "miscalculated" my hours by 3 hours. After the first incident in October I began to save my reciepts from when i clock in and out. Some of the receipts have faded ink, but most of them are in order on the exact hours and seconds I worked . My calculated hours from my personal receipts do not proplery coincide with the due financial statement in which Party City contains on their records. I already get paid minimum wage, which is bad enough. But to postpone pay, give sudden double shifts, and to hand out a financially incorrect paycheck in accordance? That is totally unacceptable. I question the validity of my managers accounting capability and believe that he is intentionally violating my total amount of hours worked. I recently purchased a fog machine for my sons 4th bday party on october 29th your I purchased the fog machine on 10/21 I didnt see the need to check if the machine was in working condition since it was a brand new machine. On the day of the party the machine didnt function what so ever we followed the instructions and nothing!! I went to the store where I had purchased it to get a refund and to my surprise a refund was out of the question because a fog machine is considered halloween merchandise so I was forced to either get another machine or get a whole bunch of halloween crap I didnt need!! From now on I will not buy ANYTHING from Party City I am beyond disappointed with your store policy!!
Im complaining about a store manager in jersey city, nj veasna cox STORE #406... "Vee" She is VERY RUDE.. SHE DOES NOTHING ALLLL DAY BUT STAND AROUND AND ORDER PEOPLE AROUND, SHE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT THE STORE, SHE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT THE LOCATIONS IN THE STORES, SHE TAKES TWO DAYS TO FINISH A SCHEDULE.... SHE NEEDS TO BE PUT SOMEWHERE WITH SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING BECAUSE SHE SUCKS AS A STORE MANAGER. SHE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AT ALLLL.... SHE DOESN'T SPEAK TO HER EMPLOYEES, NOR HER CUSTOMERS, SHE DIRECTS THEM TO SOMEONE ELSE, AND IGNORE HER EMPLOYEES WHEN GREETING HER. SHE TAKES BREAKS OUT OF UR TIME CLOCK WHEN U DIDNT TAKE A BREAK THAT DAY. SHE SCHEDULES PEOPLE TO WORK AND THEN CHANGE THE SCHEDULE AND DOESNT INFORM ANY OF HER EMPLOYEES. THE STORE IS VERY UNORGANIZED, SHE SUCKS AND NEEDS TO BE PUT SOMEWHERE ELSE OTHER THEN BEING A STORE MANAGER.. Party City has a "no returns" policy on wigs, which I can appreciate EXCEPT that they do not send you the wigs that they advertise. I ordered two neat, shoulder length brown wig and beard sets for "Bible" character costumes. However, what I received were super long, scraggly, disheveled wigs and beards that reached the middle of the chest. When I tried one on, it looked so wild that it reminded us of Bigfoot. We laughed about it, not realizing we'd been duped. I took it to the store to make the return. They informed me that effective 10/25 they no longer accept them in the store, and they weren't so professional about how they said it. After multiple phone conversations and emails with customer service, including emailing them a side-by-side photo of what I ordered versus what I got, they were still unwilling to accept responsibility. Either the wrong item was sent, or they are using false advertising to get rid of products that don't sell. Either way, I'm so done with them.
I go to your store pretty often, and one store in particular (5522 Leesburg Pike Bailey's Crossroads, Falls Church, VA 22041) I've noticed has the most disgustingly lazy and rude employees I've ever had to interact with and not just sometimes, but every single time I've gone there. This last time just did it for me, because normally I go alone to shop for my children's birthday parties, but for Halloween I had them come along with me to pick out their costumes; that will NEVER happen again. The employees just slouch around talking to each other like it's some sort of social gathering for them and when asked for help I've had them roll their eyes at me and just show a total LACK of customers service skills or any kind of basic social skills for that matter. Rude just doesn't even describe their attitude, nor does lazy... they are way worse than that, and like I said it's EVERY single time I go to the store. The management must be absolutely horrible to have employees that act the way they do. I feel extremely uncomfortable in the store because of this and I've never, EVER had that kind of a feeling going into a store, especially not a store revolving around children and such. The fact they get paid disturbs me. Someone should step up and get a new batch of employees or send them to a customers service seminar or something. Totally unacceptable.
I placed two different orders online going to two different places. One was billed to my company because it was for one of our satellite offices. The second was a personal package. I had selected next day air for both. The office order went to the wrong zipcode but then finally got shipped to where it was supposed to go 3 days later. The personal order which is still in dispute was supposed to come to me at my home address. The order confirmation clearly shows the bill to and ship to address of my home. The shipping confirmation had my corporate card as the bill to and ship to address. They never took ownership of the mistake and expect me to return the package (and pay for the return) before I can get a credit. It was needed by Saturday because of a yearly Kids party I do for Halloween forcing me to go and buy whatever I could find at various stores. They still want me to return a package I never received...the corporate office is 254 miles from where I work - been there twice in the 3 years I've worked for the company. It shouldn't matter that the wrong address is a place I'm aware of, it was the wrong address and I never had the package in my possession. If it was sent to the McDonalds down the street am I supposed to get them to return it for me???? I still haven't been credited and the charge was over $70
East Stroudsburg store has rude employees! Manager didn't even have the decency to come speak with me and told the cashier to tell me I am outta luck! Very rude will never shop there again!
I was in the Party City located in Berwyn, IL on Cermak & Harlem. I was trying to purchase a Halloween costume for my niece and we stood in line for an hour, and when we finally made it to the front of the line the sales associate ask for the number of the costume, so I gave her three different customer number and she replied, we are out of stock, so I ask her to speak with the manager, so I can ask him to put up a sign on all the costumes that are out of stock, so the manager came over and his name was Rueben who was very rude with a nasty demeanor and does not know how to treat customers. He told me that no he cannot place a sign up, so I ask him, if I can go pick out another costume and come back and give him the number, and he stated no, you will have to stand in line again, so I ask him for the corporate number and he gave me the wrong number. I call the store back the next day, and I finally spoke with store manager Steve who apologizes for Rueben behavior. It will be a long time before I go back to that particular location. I think Rueben needs to attend some customer service training class.
Party City is a scam. This corporation is a prostitution of the business model. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE!THEY TREAT THEIR EMPLOYEES LIKE THE EGYPTIANS TREATED THE JEWS, AND THEN NEVER PAY THEM!
Will never shop at Party City again. The manager, Lloyd Breslin, of the location in Yonkers New york on Central Avenue is very rude and nasty. I don't know how he became a manager but I will do everything in my power to have him fired for the nasty way he treated me and my mother. I have contacted the corporate office and will do so daily until something is done. I will also no longer purchase from this store and will tell everyone on know about my experience. There are millions without jobs and then people like this have management positions when they hang up on customers!

Tucson, AZ 85748 (520)290-9195 "My family was recently in your store, and was unable to find the product we were looking for. When checking out, a cashier asks "Did you find everything you were looking for ?" I replied, " Yes but if you had an Angry Birds Costume it would be perfect, i was told by the costume wall associate No Angry Bird Costumes were shipped to Tucson." The cashier replied, "I'm not sure why she would tell you that, i know i sold some earlier this week." Long story short, Your cashier went out of her way to double check in the back, and proceeded to call all four other stores in the tucson area, looking for an Angry Birds Costume.."DURING YOUR VERY BUSY HALLOWEEN SEASON" we were very impressed with the service and time she took with the situation. The cashiers name was Samantha, and i definitely think a person that takes that much time on helping anyone, deserves the same along with a thankyou and recognition from the Managers, G.Manager, corporate, ect.... I WOULD RECOMMEND PARTY CITY TO ANY AND EVERYONE WITH EMPLOYEES LIKE SAMANTHA.. Thanyou and THANKYOU SAMANTHA!
To whom it may concern I was very dissapointed in the lack of customer service that was provided to me in the store at mays landing NJ location. I had spend over $300 on printing invitation cards which the associate had made a few errors and couldnt help me at all, keep in mind this wasnt just a party invite it was an engagement event. Lastly unprofessionally the associate was texting on the floor which I know her mind was else where otherwise these errors wouldnt of occured. I will never shop there again.
I started work in the store in El Paso on Joe Battle Blvd last month. I only lasted a week before I realized the job wasn't for me. I just didn't like the way some of the people treated the customers plus I do not know any spanish & that is what is mainly spoken here. Anyways it has been a month & I still have not recieved a paycheck for teh week I was there. Who do I call about this?

i got my costume in a timely manner, but it was missing one of the main pieces to it and cannot get through to ANYONE to send me the missing pieces i paid for.
I am writing this for my daughter who was let go because of her speech disability. The manager DAN at the Party City in: SOUTHLANDS MALL 23901 East Orchard Rd Aurora, CO 80016 Store #3206 This "Man" was very rude to myself and has had problems with her because of her speech difficulty. I hope everyone will take this to light and stop shopping there. I am filing a complaint with the Colorado Division of Labor also. Dan, you can't fire someone just because you have a problem with the way someone speaks, And doesn't get along with your squeeze.
ARgggg!!!I am soooooo angry!!I bought two super adorable costumes from the clearence bins in Party City.And today I put them on and both zippers are broken!!And I need one of the costumes tomorrow!!Could you try to get better service or double,make that triple check how the costumes look before you sell them on clearence!!Even though its clearence Party City needs to have ALL of their customers satisfied!!!!
If own a childrens party planning business and went too the Party City store in Tigard, Oregon.I am planning a party for a a little girl.There was no merchandise on the shelves.Every time in i go in its the same.To be fair there was Halloween but whym is it called party city if you offer one theme.I plan alot of parties i wont go again and waste my time?
Horrible company. I would never go back. To anyone who is reading this, PartyCity in the woodlands may look nice, but don't be fooled. Behind closed doors there is a lot of manipulation and mistreatment to the customers and employees alike.
dont ever work for them i worked for halloween city and they didnt pay me 200$ in my check this was in oct stil no money paid to me and now im also waiting for w-2.worst place i have ever worked they treat there employees as well as there customers like crap.
