Poor Management

Ate dinner last night at the Outback on Hwy 17 in Myrtle Bch, Sc. Had a printed coupon for free appetizer the manager refused to honor. It had bar code, etc...but he said it was not "official" even thought I printed it from an Outback offer. Food was "o'k"...I had Prime Rib...potato warm..not hot...and Cesar salad had wilted Romaine lettuce that was slimy on the ends. Needless to say...not to expectations. Manager came over...we mentioned food wasn't to expectations...he apologized and moved to the next table. I had a gift card we used and told the waitress to keep balance as I would not be back. $35 meal...$15 balance. As .a senior citizen...I do not throw money away....but felt this was a waste of a nice gift card and our entire group agreed we would not be back. A shame as this used to be one of my favorite places to eat out!! Have gotten several comments from others that they too have had poor service/food/and experience at various Outbacks around the country.. Just thought you might be interested in the public opinion.

Pitiful Service

We received terrible service from the bartenders at the Crystal Lake location this past Saturday night (12/1). I cannot even comprehend how 3 people at a 12-14 seat bar did not even NOTICE that 2 people had just sat down at a spot 2 other people just vacated. The bartender cleared the bar & wiped the spot where we not sat but did not look up for a second or greet us. He walked away and never came back, except to put glasses away directly in front of where we sat 2 different times, and never once looked up or acknowledged that we were there. We literally had to shout to get some attention, unlike an older couple who came in after us and were immediately treated like royalty. I don't care who they were, NO ONE should get any better treatment than the next person. We were ignored and they were oblivious. There was not an apparent person in management on the floor, and there wasn't a person over the age of 25 working. There were four servers just standing around the hostess stand. This was 7:30 on a Saturday with a 25 minute wait for a table. Either they are Waaaay overstaffed, or these people are in dire need of customer service training. There was a server that stood and hovered over the older couple and even promised to "sneak them" into a table being vacated soon. And she did. Ahead of all the other people sitting at the bar with buzzers. And then she stood and just chatted with them for the next hour. She didn't have any other tables? (Blondish girl with glasses). Also a tall young man with a pointy mohawk-type hairstyle also loitered at their table. Again, I don't care if they OWN the restaurant, they shouldn't get any better treatment than any one else in the place. I've been in the bar/restaurant business for over 30 years myself and have worked in extremely busy establishments, and for 3 bartenders to not be able to graciously greet and serve 12 people at their bar is absolutely outrageous to me. Ridiculous. Won't be returning to Outback any time soon and will Certainly be talking about our bad experience to all of my customers.

A treat for the soldiers

My husband has spent the past 42 months in Iraq and Afghanistan. He works in very remote locations with very few amenities, to include no indoor plumbing, rare showers and cots or the floor for sleeping areas. Imagine his voice then when he called to tell me he had a steak dinner! Outback sent over a HUGE party with great food and fun entertainment. My husband said he even had a blooming onion, which is his favorite. He said this was an unexpected gift and I would like to express my gratitude to this company because this was not an inexpensive venture and they may never realize the true reward of this service and support. Please thank whomever came up with and whomever approved this activity and please thank all the people who traveled to make it happen.

Rewards Program

Outback has always been our favorite restaurant of choice. We joined the rewards program, right when it was started. Going back as far as Feb of last year now the system has not accepted our codes for points. They owe us hundreds of points for our dining. Ive tried contacting the Rewards program numerous times. Nobody will help. Will now write a letter to coporate to see if anything can be done. If not, we will no longer be dining at Outback. Money is too hard to come by these days. I will frequent restaurants that honor the programs they say they provide.Anpween and

I went to the Branson Missouri Pub for a couple drinks with a friend about a week and a half ago. I had two drinks, I paid with my card but I did not tip with my card. The total was $13.08. A few days later I check my bank account and the charge was $18.00. I called the Branson Outback and they said the manager will call the next day.(Called on a Tuesday) By Saturday I had not heard from anyone so I drove to Branson(I live about 35 minutes away) and spoke to the young man who ran my card. I showed him my bank statement price, my receipt and he went and spoke to his manager and said someone would call me Monday. It's not 7:30 at night on Tuesday and I still haven't heard from anyone. So in my opinion, Outback does not care that money was stolen from me. It might only be $4.92 but it's still considered stealing when I did not write that tip in. Outback stole money from me and my boyfriend and I have spent several hundreds of dollars there over the past few years. They can keep the tip but they lost my business for not caring about a loyal customer.

I've been eating at your location in ft.lauderdale, fl and after reading so many treeible reviews I felt compelled to let you know that when I get to your restaurant I am seatde within minutes and the waiter/waitress comes right over. We have discussed how the steaks are cooked and seasoned and we've experimented until I figured out exactly how to order a steak so it is exactly the way I want it - lightly seasoned and medium rare. I think your restaurants service is excellent in every way. I'm not sure I even believe all the bad reviews I've read. Sometimes people think they are better than others, especially servers(WHO WORK VERY HARD FOR THEIR MONEY AND TIPS). Why would a server go out of their way to not receive a tip. Alsowhen a restaurant is busy you need to be patient and make sure you are not missed and if you see something you feel is inappropriate just speak up. If the server hasn't yet come over then ask them to as soon as they are able. Based on my dealings with your restaurants and others I never have a problem. ALSO REMEMBER THAT EVERYONE IS HUMAN AND SOMETIMES HAS A BAD DAY SO GIVE THE WORKERS A BREAK AND ACT LIKE A CIVILIZED, CONSIDERATE CUSTOMER AND JUST SPEAK UP. i THINK MOST OF THE COMPLAINTS ARE TO TRY AND GET FREE FOOD COUPONS AND NOTHING ELSE. i LOVE OUTBACK,EAT THERE OFTEN WITH GREAT SERVICE EVERY TME AND LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to admit to reading all the negative postings before writing my post. I have been in transportation sales for over 20 years. This requires me to take customers to dinner. My restaurant of choice was always Outback. I never had a bad experience in the Middletown NJ and Springfield NJ Outbacks. That being said, we were devistated by hurricane Sandy. If not for the outback in Middletown NJ we would not have had a Thanksgiving. My gratitude goes out to Lee Maziekien and his staff of volunteers who gave up their Thanksgiving to help those less fortunate. Each and every person working there had a smile on their face and continually stopped by to ask if there was anything we needed. I was even given a to bag with 2 dinners for a women and her mother that could not get out for Thanksgiving. They were so appreicative of me bringing there dinner, that I had to explain not to thank me but it was all the Outback. I was only the delivery man. I can't thank you enough for giving us one day of joy in an otherwise terrible situation. Thanks Outback and thank you Lee and staff.

I was taken to your steakhouse for my birthday,we had a party of 13 so we made reservation for 4 pm,and was told no problem and when we arrived we were told our tables were just finishing up, and we would be seated soon.25 minutes later we asked again and they said our tables were being cleaned off and would be seated in approximately 5 minutes.after 45 minutes we were again told soon.when we were ready to leave we were seated .the manager was called to our table after we complained on how our tables were set up we had a t shape so most of us were looking at backs of others head so we had no way to talk to them. the manager thought giving us cheese fries and a blooming onion we fair.my sons steak was over cooked and to few things was not right. I was not happy with my 68th.dinner

My husband and I have only only one complaint. Recently we were told that Outback Corp Hdqtrs made the decision to quit serving Shiner Draft Beer in your Webster, Tx. Outback Restaurant. This may not rank as Un-American but it certainly ranks as UN-Texan to Texans. Please bring back Shiner Draft Beer to Webster, Texas. They still serve Shiner in bottles with a cold mug BUT Draft is better Gene & Wally

My husband and I went to Outback for what I thought woulld be a wonderful steak and lobster dinner......When the dinner was served the lobster was soooooooooooooooo small I would have been embraressed to serve it....It was not anything like your ad was...I will not be ciming back.

I went with my family of 4 and ordered a victoria filet rare. it was over cook and I send it back and came back rare and frsen on the center I will never go back This is is on Miami Fl 82ave and West Flagler

You guys got nerve to call this a steak house. Burguer King has better meat than you and better service

Outback is my favorite restaurant. The meat and veggies are consistently some of the best I have eaten at any restaurants - even three times the price. Food gets five stars. However, the Rewards program is a SCAM. It is designed to reject valid rewards. It has happened to me four times in a row. I have to send them a picture to get them to admit they are wrong and it is no longer worth my time for a $36 bill. They have apologized and given me additional credits, but refused to fix the system. So I strongly suggest that no one use the Outback Rewards system.

I have been a Outback Steakhouse customer for at least 15 years. It is and has been (up until recently) my favorite place to dine. However my last visit to our closest Outback Steakhouse (Stockton, CA) was a horrible nightmare. We were made to wait 10 minutes for a already cleared table to be wiped off. We were seated in the bar section which was fine. The part that was not fine or even close to fine was the fact that we were offered no service at all. We sat in our booth and waited patiently because even though it was busy and strangly so being it was only 12:15, we knew we would be gotten to. We sat and watch others walk in be seated and served at least a beverage, but nothing was offered to us. After 30 minutes of waiting we up and left and at this point are not sure we will ever return to the Outback Steakhouse in Stockton, CA. The funny thing about this is it was the Manager Maurice Blankenship who welcomed us into the establishment and had us seated. I emailed Mr. Blankenship regarding this matter and as of yet have not heard back from him. I want to hear back from someone at a higher level.

This weekend at the Outback in Sandy Springs GA and had a horrible experince. I was with a party of 4 and it took about 1 hour and 30 minutes for us to recieve our meal. Once it was at the table it was cold and the waitress continues to wander around and even sitting down at other customers table and holding long conversations with them and neglecting customers. We asked to speak to a manager and he came over to the table and acted as if it was ok that we waited for such a long time to recieve our meal. He said that he would take off the cost of our beverages and that never happened At the end when it came to paying for our meal. The waitress gave us our checks and we paid. When she brought the change back she said that she rounded off the bill, my meal was 11.56 and I gave her a 12.00 and did not get any change back which means that she took upon herself to keep .44 of my money. The overall experince was HORRIBLE and this will make me think twice before choosing to eat here again

this is not a complaint about the food. we enjoy the outback once a week or more. I have entered your rewards program and when points are deducted I never get the coupon, unless i make a fuss. There are many other people who have the same experience. what gives? ii am waiting for a $10.00 coupon for many weeks. First they said they will send it and never did. It is not the $10.00 as much of the false advertising. Please advise,as nobody bothers to answer the e mail. It is not saying much for the reputation of the outback. thank you and i hope you will have the courtesy of giving me an answer.

Let me please start by saying that my outback (tyrone st pete) experience for twice in a row sucked. The first time we had food spilt on us and dinner came late. I sent an email on that and never recieved a reply. The second time was last night. My family waited an hour to be seated as we got passed up constantly. I watched them seat people left and right. They even put 2 people at a large table which we were waiting for. When they seated us they split us between 2 booths. There were people walking out and done with dinner that came while we were still waiting. Then they gave us 2 waitresses while we were all suppose to be together. The food and service was awful. My ribeye came out twice and looked like a shoe sole. The manager claimed that its cut thin because of marbleing? I was a butcher for 3 years and I know that is a bunch of bull. I have never seen a 17 dollar steak that was a 1/4"thick or less. Actually it was probably 1/8". I ended up eating my wifes left over and sent that piece of something back. We even tried to use a facebook coupon on our phone and they said no. Come on what kind of service is this? The resturant wasnt that busy and cant believe the experience my family and I experienced.

I am an active duty US army officer in the process of my deployment to Afghanistan. Tonight I decided to treat myself before my deploymen and have a nice dinner at Outback Steakhouse in Columbus Georgia. They told me that I need to wait for 15 min to get a table and they recommended that I can sit at the bar until my table gets ready. I took a chair at the bar, ordered a drink and waited for my table. After about 40 min a lady came and asked me if I still want to have a table. I told her yes and I have been waiting for so long. Finally I was given a table in the patio as I requested, told me that the waitress will be with me soon. Waitress who was a young lady was serving other tables but never came to my table to take my order. I gave her almost 30 min but she did not try to at least ask me why I was there. Finally I called her and asked her why she was ignoring me. She responded in a rude way that nobody told her that I wanted to order dinner. I asked her at least she should have asked me if I am being served or not. I told her I came from FT bennig to have a nice dinner before my deployment but unfortunately I was totally ignored. She said it was not her problem as nobody told her about me. I was very upset for their ignorance and totally lost my appetite, called for a taxi to go back to FT Benning and totally forget about dinner. This was the experience of my last dinner before my deployment to the Battle Field.

To whom it may concern, when an employee goes to work that last thing that should be a negative pinpoint, is your General manager. Happy guest start with happy Managers which trickle down through the crew. The outback in West Monroe has on of the most evil and uncaring general managers I have ever seen. I believe in time if this problem is not fixed your company name and beliefs will go down the drain. I have been in the service industry for over fourteen years and have never met a more non-motivating Woman.

To Whom It May Concern: Neglected , Stero-typed, and unappreciated were all behaviors I experienced while having lunch at Outback SteakHouse located at 3215 SW College Road Ocala, FL 34474. Upon conclusion of my visit I requested for a manger at the hostess stand in which a good visit then turned bad. Very stereotypical comments, judgmental acquisitions, and no effort was contributed in rectifying the problem. I would like a moment of your time to discuss my experience at this location as I know the level of service that I've been given in the past. Everything from curb side pick up, to afternoon lunches, and every other Friday my family visits Outback for happy hour with a party of 10+. I understand I may not be a frequent guess at this location but I would need my hands plus yours to count the number of Outbacks I have dined at and NEVER has the level of service fell short of exceptional. If Sharon Gardner and staff demonstrated the type of behavior I can look forward to in the near future, regretfully, my business will soon part ways. Im certain this matter can be resolved at the store level or I would feel obligated to contact the best appropriate person to express the type of behaviors received today. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you in a timely matter as I know a solution can found. And remember "every decision one makes there's an end result."
