I work at the Outback on 4th street in Saint Petersburg Florida. I have worked there for over a year and I must commend the management on all levels; they are upstanding, professional, and continuously exercise patience with staff. Because I know the management has my back I am able to show confidence with providing my guests with a enjoyable dining experience. The management's goals and expectations are clear and even when I make mistakes that take money out of their earnings they withhold nonconstructive criticism. If the entire staff treated each other with the similar respect shown by the management the Outback on 4th street would be the best place to work in Tampa Bay.
I am an employee of outback catering and ala carte both blooming brands and I can't believe the reviews outback is getting. I want to apologize to everyone that has had a less than amazing time at one of our resturaunts and say that those resturaunts in question need more motivation and better customer relations. Please don't hate outback in whole for one horrible manager.
The Outback in Westboro MA. This facility has been having problems for several years the food is poorly cooked, the french fries are soggy, the service is poor and the managers are laid back. I would not go back and spend $50-60 for two people. The main office needs to know what is going on regarding this facility.
How do I contact the HR department about issues in my restaurant? This is VERY important!
Please accept my thanks for wonderful experience at your restaurant in Leominster MA. We were greeted promptly and seated with in 15 minutes. Our additional request for a booth was met with a friendly response and a booth was found for us immediately. Michael, our server was both cordial and efficient. Heidi, the manager, stopped at our table to assure that we had been taken care of. This was most appreciated and I hope it is a practice in all your restaurants. We did have a question regarding how the "doneness" of a steak is determined. Rather than stand at our table looking down at us, Heidi sat done with us and was very informative. This is also a practice that I believe is appropriate. She also offered us a complimentary dessert. This was only our second time eating here but we will become more regular customers. I can relate to the comments of other customers as we eat at another Outback about two months ago and the steak was not prepared as we ordered. The manager response was basically that we ordered it wrong.
Tonight was the worst experience I have had with a manager (owner) of any restaurant I have been to. My family and I dined in at your Torrance, CA #369 restaurant on 6/26/12. Our Bill was $232.00 plus a $35 tip to the lovely waitress. Our food was delicious and our waitress was delightful. We had your $10 off 2 entrees coupon. Given the coupon did not state a limit amount but rather "1 per table per visit", we assumed it meant per every 2 entrees, not just 2 entrees out of our 5 entrees. When we asked to speak to the manager, our waitress was kind enough to call him without hesitation. Upon questioning the wording of the coupon, not only was he condescending, rude, unprofessional, loud, instigative, and childish but he also followed us through the restaurant making snide remarks. I would really like to have you pull your cameras if there are any in this restaurant so that you can see the escalation of this situation. It started with him saying that he was going to read us the coupon so that we could understand it, in a condescending tone as if we either did not read English or were stupid. Upon asking him to make a copy of the coupon so that in my complaint I can have it, he questioned why and then continued to discuss why we were wrong. When he came back I asked for him to write his name so that I had it for my complaint, he questioned me again, so then I asked for his business card, which was better for me. When he came back as he was about to hand his card to me, he placed it back into his shirt pocket and asked for my card so that he knew who the complaint was coming from and what it was in regards to. I do not have any business cards so I offered my name, which he took down on his PDA and then handed me the card. I have NEVER had somebody refuse to give me their name/card for a service I paid for, until they had mine. As I walked away, I saw that he continued to talk to some members of my family so when I went back to see what was going on, as we were all leaving together he mumbled under his breath, "I think it is REALLY funny HE said sorry for this situation", referring to my brother-in-law, to which I replied “Ok" and walked back toward the front. Your manager actually said to my brother in-law that he should have spoken to my brother in-law because he seems more reasonable. As my family and I waited in the front with my mother-in-law for my brother-in-law to come out of the restaurant, my girlfriend was talking about the situation, and the manager came to front to continue to talk about the coupon making my girlfriend so upset she just walked out of the door without saying anything to which he said "THANK YOU", and then proceeded to talk to me and my mother –in-law about the coupon also stating that a few other patrons who overheard our discussion had apologized for what he had to go through. I understand frustration with customers being that I have worked in customer service for many years, however it was very unnecessary for him to continue to badger and harass us as we have already paid, tipped the waitress and were on our way out. Not once did we use profanity, insult him or speak in a disrespectful manner. After the uncomfortable and embarrassing altercation, his harassing behavior did not make us want to dine in that or any other Outback establishment EVER AGAIN. I used to be a fan of Outback, but Mr. Scott Easterday is a horrible representation of your company.
I know most people that get a job as a server or prep person must not be very "career minded". That being said the service that I get from the Sheffield Alabama Outback sucks. In the 10 times I have ordered food to go, 1 time have they filled the order correctly. I do not live close to the restaurant and the orders that I call in with orders from my father in law Dr.Tomlinson are minimum $50 and max $200. I should not have to go through every frieking bag to see if your stupid employees did their job!!! I called there tonight asking for the manager and she came back on the line about 5 minutes later telling me that the manager was to busy to take my call. Typical I guess - who gives a shit right?! Never again and this time I am putting out the word on Sheffield Outback... dont waste your money trying to have a great dinner because you will be dissappointed 9 out of 10 times!!! I hope that business goes under.
We ate lunch today at the Outback on Aloma Avenue in Winter Park, Florida. During our meal my wife had a piece of meat get stuck in her throat and couldn't breath. I tried numerous times to dislodge it with the hemlock maneuver. I wasn't successful. The Proprietor, Beverly Thomas saw what was happening and immediately came to our assistance. After a few attempts she was successful in clearing her air path. Beverly Thomas possibly saved a life today. She is our hero. Thank you so much.
Outback Steakhouse,#4427 8731 W.Loop.S610 Houston Tx 77096 On June 23,2012.My wife order a bake potatoe. It was rotten.(Black on the end side. Cook should have caught this before serving it.If I do-not hear from you before monday. I will take this to the media 713-734-5691
My daughter and I went there for dinner in Colorado Springs. My husband and I had always gone to the Outback, it was our favorite resturant. No more. Won't go back. the steaks couldnt pass for a tv dinner. Its a shame. I can't believe they will be in business much longer. There are so many other nice resturants to choose from all priced the same. Even the waitress was embarassed because the steak was so thin and though ordered medium rare was like a piece of day old rubber 2 inch by 2 inch and very thin. I didn't eat it. Hers was the same, and it wasn't the "special" it was supposed to be a ribeye; Lesson learned.
Is the beef grass fed, I have been hearing a lot of negative hype about corn fed beef.
My family and I (party of six) were very upset over the wait (2hrs) and the treatment we received from the staff taking names. We requested a table instead of a booth because my husband is handicapped. We were told there would be a 50 minute wait, which we accepted due to a graduation in the area. After an hour and fifteen minutes we inquired "How much longer?". We were told it would be a little longer they were waiting for the next table to free up. After watching one table then another table given to another party we again inquired "Why are we being passed up?". We were told that the two parties were call aheads. I have two problems with this, 1. Why were we not told call-ins were being given preferance and 2. On a night when they clearly knew there would be large parties, why would they be taking call aheads. When I brought this up to girl taking names and then the manager, their response was "We always do call aheads." When you are being slammed with diners who are not call aheads, why not suspend this practice for the evening and seat people as they arrive. After two plus hours of waiting and pleading we left to eat elsewhere. My husband and I have been supporters of the Outback organization for years. Before my husband's stroke we volunteered each year for the Outbback Pro Am in Tampa Fl. We realize all Outbacks are franchises, but that does not excuse the corporate offices from their responsibility to make sure the name and reputation of your organization is on the highest level of service and quality. The Outback I am referring to is located in Brick N.J. on Chambers Bridge Rd. Thank You for your attention. Nora Brown ellen-robertb1@hotmail.com
Jeez - I was thinking of working for these people in the Tampa corporate offices (not in a restaurant.) But my god! After reading these reviews I am not so sure now. With the economy in the toilet you'd think they would bend over backwards to improve the experience. By the way, the last time I ate in an Outback was at the Daytona store 8 or so years ago (now 2012). Our salads were delivered OK, but we had no silverware! After waiting 15 minutes for the server to bring some I finally had to get up and wander around the place until someone noticed me and handed me some silver, which I then took back to the table. Last time I ever ate there, and last time I ever will. Over-hyped if you ask me. I can cook a better steak at home, and for a helluva lot less money.
This past Sat. I took my wife and 22 month son to the Outback in Montgomeryville Pa. I could not believe the promotion, drink alcohol to support the troops, really? Why not buy a steak to support the troops? Than this foolish girl tries to sells me on the promotion with my wife and 22 month old in the booth with me. First I dont drink, ever. Second with my little baby with me how offensive. We left and will not return. Hey Outback, fire your PR people they stink. The end does not justify the means here and it makes you look bad.
i did not realize that outback has cameras filming the entire dining room while you eat. this is so invasive of your privacy,i understand a camera at the door for security but i like to relax when i go out. now that i know this i will never go to an outback again. the thought of someone watching me and my family while dinig is sick, i do not see a reason for that
I was with a friend at an OUtback steakhouse in Dalton, Georgia. The staff was friendly but the problem was the food. My friend ordered the "tender steak" meal for 10.99 and I ordered the filet mignion with marsala sauce for 16.99. We both got the exact same amount and the exact same type of meat, same size also. The only difference was that mine was alot more money. I have seen the filets at other outbacks and they are flat and dry. Filet mignions are supposed to be thick. How can one order a flat, 1/2" thick steak to their desired doneness? The marasala sauce had about 1/2 of a chopped up button mushroom. Is that what I paid so much more money for??? The sauce was not good adn teh meat was like Denny's. The mashed potatoes were okay but I got a small scoop and the dessert..hmmm, what can I say but I was in shock looking down at the expensive piece of cheesecake I got that was such a tiny piece on an ivory plate that matched the cheesecake with not a drizzle of sauce, no strawberry on the side, no dollop of whipped cream but a bland, tiny, naked piece of cheesecake. My friend's brownie with ice cream was not good and the ice cream was more like ice milk that melted quickly into a watery mess mixed with Hersehy's syrup. I have had enough of the 4 Outbacks I have been to. It is not what is used to be a decade ago. I will never go to anymore and will go to Longhorn's as we get consistently great thick juicy steaks, giant potatoes, large hot bread and huge desserts. I have never been disappointed there.
Guys what are you doing ?? We stop in twice sometimes three times and week, love the steak. There is a group of about 20-25 not all at the same time but that enjoy the bar and the food ( Let's just call em regulars) Here's our trouble.... why in the world would you take a great draft beer ( Coors Light ) and remove it for a micro beer ? I'm not even sure what replaced it. We like our coord light draft in a frosty mug !!! Come on kids bring it back give your customers what we want !!! Ya know Texas Road House has Coors Light Draft !! Are ya gonna make me drive another 20 minutes or are ya gonna bring back our beer ??

HI: ( PLEASE FORWARD) IT HAS BEEB 3 WEEKS NO REPLY?? Went to the KIHEI Outback ( Maui) April 18th, and so Bad. The Bathrooms were real Dirty Mold, etc, Onion was all oil and about a 1/2 high, Beer warm. Menu's Diry and never returned in the 14 day's. The first Outback in 20 years' I have ever said this about. Also the Manager, Justin never replyed 3 times?, so unprofessional. Thank You, Sharon Henrichs
I eat at Outback at least once a week and sometimes twice and have been doing so for 20 years. Tonight however I was seriously disappointed. I and my wife ordered the mahi and shrimp/scallop medley for $16.50. Th fish on both plates was literally 3-4oz. I almost laughed, it was so small it could have barely passed for an appetizer. My wife ordered a sangria and the glass was filled all the way to the top with ice, very little beverage. I can't remember when the last time I left a restaurant and felt I was taken advantage of. It will be a long time before I go back, if ever.
