I used to work for Menards and I hated the job. I loved the guests but the management and there are incredibly unprofessional and only care about the bottom dollar. They don't care about their employees and God forbid those who actually aren't tied down to Menards. They pay is just a little above minimum wage and weekends you make a little more,but those wages are what you should be paid during the week. They have to many employees, therfore they send people home early all of the time. Menards is all about sales, sales, sales!

My wife and I were in the Bay City store on 29 July to buy materials for a home remodel. We bought approx $600.00 worth of materials for this.We got up to the check-out and I showed my Disabled Vet card and asked for my 10% discount just Lowes and Home Depot do. I was told that Menards no longer participates in this program. I e-mailed Corporate HQ and recieved a reply that basicly says that they charge the same for everybody witch is BULL. I am recommending that ALL VETERANS, MEMBERS OF THE VFW, AMERICAN lEGION DO NOT Purchace or even go into a Menards Store again. I personally will NEVER shop in Menards again

I PURCHASED A AIR RATCHET FROM MENARDS .AND PAID CASH. A WEEK LATER IT TOOK A CRAP, JUST LIKE THE CRAP IT WAS.I TOOK IT BACK TO THE STORE, THEY SAID I HAD TO TAKE A IN STORE (MERCHANDISE CREDIT CHECK ) I TOLD THEM I PAID CASH I WOULD LIKE CASH BACK. THE GIRL PRETTY MUCH SAID TO BAD....IN THE LAST YEAR I HAVE BUILT A DECK ON MY HOUSE. REBUILT THREE OUT BUILDINGS.INSTALLED CARPET AND WOOD FLOORING IN MY HOUSE..SO OVER A $40.00 AIR WRENCH THEY HAVE LOST THOUSANDS AND ONE MORE CUSTOMER...

Sunday, July 29, 2012 / I am a 70 year old, female, African American minister with my own counseling practice. I was taken aback when I went and Menards made a purchase in one area of the store and went to another area and made another purchase. Before giving me the item that I was just charged for the clerk said to me "let me see the sales receceipt for those items". I was shocked and surprised as well as irritated at the tone she used OR thatI was asked that at all. I was at the Mendards store in Fridley, MN (5351 Central Ave., NE 55421)I asked to speak to a manager who confirmed it was their policy to ask for receipts of items brought from one part of their store to another. I told him in no uncertain terns that I had never been subjected to such scrutiny, objectedd to it - the could credit my card back for the PURCHASES AND I will mention the POLICY on my tv how, in my blog and not return to ANY Mendard again. If it had been explained by the clerk that due to their unique set up (itmes brought from one building of Menards to another) woould be asked to show proff of purchased and then ASKED to see the receipt / ALL WOULD HAVE GONE WELL. I am A Loyal Guest At The Hammond Store And I Really Wish Tht U Give all of the carryouts a little more respect and high praise for them working so very hard because everytime i come in those dedicated hardworking young men are on their feet working so hard n sumtymes i hear them getting either fussed at for not working harder.

I begin by saying i have worked for this company going on three years. I have asked for full time many times and passed up by many. I have asked for a transfer as well all i am trying to do is manage to provide for my family. I ask myself why doesnt my employer look at me as i do them ? I can not answer why i mean so little to menards when I give my all. I love my guests and my job i am nearly 40 years old maybe that is the answer. Even though u dont see in me what i do in you i will continue not to let you down instead try even harder. Its my hope one day that your eyes will open and see my whole potential and raise your bar as i do for uour company. My gid bless and keep.

I spent $40,000 on a pole barn building kit; there was not enough wood to complete the building. I am missing 129 pieces of lumber. There people and computer system could not give the correct amount I need. The store response in Crystal Lake Il. is you got what you paid for. I guess dealing with MENARDS, that’s what you can expect. BAD SERVICE. The response from Corporate office is you have to send a letter to submit your problem. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN !!

I worked at the Princeton, Indiana store. I applied for a position as a cashier. I told them that I could not work Mon., Wed., or Fri., due to my college classes. But I could work every other day of the week from 8am until they closed. At my interview, I was asked if I could possibly be a stocker. I told them, "I guess, as long as I don't have to lift over 50 pounds" (I am a 127 lb female). I asked if they had cashier positions open. They said no, so I took the stocker job. It was Mon-Sat, 5am-9am. On the day of my orientation, I noticed that they had hired two other girls (AFTER they had hired me) to be cashiers. The only difference between them and me was I had tattoos and piercings (vines on my left arm and 4 piercings in my left ear). My FIRST day, I had to lift a 75 pound toilet from the pallet to the shelf. When I asked for help, I was given a weight lifting belt. I wound up hurting my abdominal muscles, and when I told them, they shrugged it off. It is apparent that they do not care about their employees and discriminate against them as well. DO NOT WORK HERE!!

Went to Menards in Forsyth Illinois bought a sliding door and to order the guy said i had to have a sat in door not new constrution due to the fact my house was stone and all we were doing was replacing it with a new one being a female i guess? not sure i was treated so bad but he order it and was a very nice guy went out 3 times before ordering it to make sure what ineeded. He ordered what i needed at least i thought so but when it came in it was a new constrution slider . Talked to store manger Mike and not only did he want to charge he more than the reg. restocking fee but he up the fee from 25%to 33% and then laughed at me . when i trused them to oder what i needed i just told him how it had to be put in and the tabs are metal so the can not be cut off and also the warrtty would be void and i paid $1605.49 for it now its sitting in my garge the person i was paying to install it cantdo it now. So no more Menards for me or any of my family or friends or workes i work with told them all and will keeping everyone i meet about Menards its said to cheat people like this and when i trusted them

I BOUGHT 14 6X8 STOCKADE FENCING HAD THEM DELIVERED THE QUALITY OF 5 OF THE PANELS WERE UNACCEPTABLE I CANNOT BELIEVE THE LOADER WOULD TRIED TO PASS THEM ON TO ME I COMPLAIN THEY SWAP THEM I LOST DAY ONE IN LABOR AND MY HELPERS AND HAD TO TAKE A DAY OFF TO FIX THAT MESS UP. I sent a note in about a Frameless TriView Medicine Cabinet that had poor workmanship...I got an email back from a Ray that was insulting and derogatory. He should not be in customer service because he has none.

Does menards in cape girardeau test for meth ? If they would get a hair sample from the nose they might get one of those out of state managers.

I work for a health facility and tried setting up a cmmercial credit account and couldn't talk to anybody to see if that account was active. Very poor service. Your corporate phone number didn't even give me anyone to talk to.PITIFUL!!!! Going to Home Depot.

Received my rebate, while in the store i lost it, my fault. However in an attempt to find out what could be done, it became apparent the Menards is Not interested in customers service of the high quality they speak of on the recording. Not a person is available, except for reception which must take the brunt of frustrated customers. rebates are given however the store does not check to see who is cashing them. i would say cash anything you find however the only one hurt is the rebate owner as Menards still gets the sale as you have to purchase in order to turn it in. They really have the worst of customer service of any company. Bet they don't even check on the poor ratings!!!

I made a 1200.00 purchase ar menards in la crosse wi on 7/11/2012 . While I was at the store when they were loading the stve n microwave the driver of the lift was about an inch away from hitting my truck. After it was all loaded I go to the security gate only to have the check person send me back thru because rhey kept my appliance sheet. I asked if he could have them get it and he said no.so I went back and went into the store found them and they said sorry and so I went back thru thecheck point again. Im only 30to miles from the store but it takes an hour to get there because of the area I live in..The following morning when I open the box the microwave is white and was suppose to be black. I called them told the department of thier mistake and that they could bring me the correct one. She said she would have to talk to the manager. She came back offered me 20.00 off. I said no and asked to speak with someone.She gave me the assistant store manger melissa. I told her that was an absolute insult as the mistake was thiers the money didnt even cover my time let alone fuel. She said they could deliver for a 67.00 fee. I at this point am even more upset and said excuse me you.offer me $20 dollars and are asking $67 dollars to fix your mistake.whats wrong with this picture. I at that point asked for the number of the corporate office in Eau claire so she gives me a number for a complaint line that takes a week to get an answer. I go online and Menards has a corporate number you call it it rings and sounds like a fax screech. How about that for customer service. But yet last fall I bought from menards thru the amish and Menards delivered to my door for free. So the sevice is available n best part is the amish get a kickback for handling for menards. To menards what about custmer being number one and satisfied? Home depot I hope you read this look at this area and put a mega store in. I spend thousnds of dollars at menards and you would have all my business.

If you people need electric carts so damn bad then get a hold of Tom Kruse and get you a hover round that should be provided for you for free with the respected health insurance policies. If you are handicapped and are in need of an electric wheel chair then you should provide it for yourself and stop hoping people will hold your hand. Dont go to stores hoping they have an electric wheelchair just because your too lazy to get one for yourself. I mean seriously do you only use them when you go shopping??? When you arent shopping are you like magically not handicapped and dont need one????

THE STORE IN WICHITA KANSAS IS HORRIBLE!!!. BUYER BEWARE!!! STAY WITH HOME DEPOT OR LOWES. I HAVE A BUDDY THAT JUST BUILT A HOME AND THE EXTERIOR PATIO DOOR IS WARPED AND HE HAS TRIED AND TRIED TO GET THEM TO REPLACE IT AND THEY WON'T. IT WAS A BRAND NEW EXPENSIVE DOOR!! IT WON'T EVEN LATCH WHEN YOU SHUT IT. THE REST OF THE HOME IS BEAUTIFUL. I KNOW I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THERE!! AND I AM SO GLAD THAT I FOUND THIS SITE BEFORE I BUILD MY NEW HOME. LOOKS LIKE MENARDS WON'T BE AROUND LONG!!
