please let me share the offel experience I have with you all, how illtreated I got at the Hanover park, Il. Menards. After spending thousands of dollars at Menards over a periods of time. The AGM of the Store Mr. Steve under the name of a "Store Policy" embrance me with disrespect, humulating me under the name of "I am protecting your interest". I was more surprising to learn that If a customer has a complaint Mr.Steve is the one to resolve it. I called the Store Manager Mr. Allen, without hearing He started taking side of this AGM. I like to bring it to the attention of the higher offical of Menards, We (customer) shop at the Store because of your Good name, Menards. If the employee & the management mistreate the customer it will bring bad name to the company. Thank you

So spent 3.5 hrs traveling to North Platte for 28 11 7/8 ijoist and LVL's for the 6500 sq foot home we are starting. Got home and started installing the ijoist and realized the bottom bundle the help at menards loaded was only the 9 7/8 ijoist. Called menards right away and asked if they would make it right. The gentlemen in building materials stated he would try to get the right ones to me asap and would call in the morning. The call came and he stated that the 2nd general manager would not allow them to deliver me the right ones at no charge and stated I was responsible for them loading the wrong ones. He also stated that the manager just got back from corporate and my situation was one of the subjects they had been trained to handle. Am now waiting till monday to talk to the 1st general manager. Was excited that Menards was starting a store in Garden City next yr. as I have had one nightmare experience after another at the home depot there. We have already traveled the distance above 3x's and where impressed with the help inside the store. However the yard help was disorganized. I am hoping for a positive experience as my building prodject goes forward. We will see what happens monday.

After my renter lost his job at Spee Dee Delivery, (which is another company you can't work with)It greatly reduced my income because I have not received any rent money. So I had to rearrange my finances and Menards was not willing to change my payment due date. They said that they can't because it's a retail credit card. I have contacted The employee's, their managers and even the corporate office in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. So my next step is the Better Business Bureau. I am Going to file that Complaint tonight. I have been begging them to do this for about 8 months already. They won't even listen. I think they have a brain the size of a mouse or smaller. If they would pass a law that you can file banruptcy on just one credit card it would be Menards. I have always been prompt about making my payments on time, but assholes likes this can change your mind in a hell of a hurry. I have tried calling the corporate office, but the assholes don't answer their phones. So it leave me no choice but to go above them.

I was my own general contractor about 8 years back now here in Bloomington, IN. I have spent many thousands of dollars at the Bloomington, IN store and have found your team always to be very friendly and helpful. Honestly I can't remember having an issue. I have watched some folks return things and am thinking you have more patience and tolerance than I would have. Many folks never think..."hey what if someone treated me like this". The best I ever saw, was at Walmart, when a lady had some kind of craft thing she did and brought back a couple three rolls of paper towels. I am thinking, are you kidding me. I have also heard stories of folks carefully using the paint in a can, filling with water and returning for a refund. I am sure I don't know the half of it. I am thinking you have to be kidding me. Asking for a receipt is not asking to much. In all these years I have always had mine and if I did not a time or two I am sure was given store credit. Hello, how easy can it be.... Anyway, even when I have had issues, the folks at the Bloomington, IN store have always been so helpful. Even recently when I got a mum for my aged mom, the gal said, these look better and helped me pick one out. Very best regards and 5 stars all the way. Thanks for the help you have extended this way.

I purchased a lawn mower and had it 1 day.The self propelled did not operate like it should have.I took it back for an exchange. The manager would not lift a finger even to try to help.Instead he just gave me a place to get it fixed under the warrenty. So I took it there as he suggested. The tech guy just said he will charge me 40 to 50 dollars just for an adjustment because he has trouble with Menards paying under warrenty. So I called the manager back and he has to get with cooperate headquarters to make a decision. So I guess Managers that work for Menards has to be told what to do when it comes to helping customes that keep them in bussiness. It like dealing with polititions. They are just out for your money you work hard for.You know hand puppets.Evansviile Indiana......................

Rodney in door dept and Dawn in paint dept. Are wonderful. They both have went above and be on what we expected. What wonderful people. We did not get any help from others in floor dept. But Rodney came right over and helped us even loaded the tile for us. Dawn went out of her way to ensure we got everything we needed. What wonderful employees. Thanks to them for jobs well done.

You guys/gals should work for them!

I purchase roughly 30,000 to 40,000 dollars in materials a year from Menards for my business. I call on almost all orders to ensure prices for customers and to do proposals. I called twice on some materials but when I went to pick it up the cost was much higher. After asking what the price was on a certain item, I was told that I had miss quoted the size, even after showing them my notes from the 2 previous calls (my notes were the same on both). The items in question were about 1.50 difference each but never have I been so insulted by a manager, as according to him it was all my fault and mistakeand his comment "to bad". After being treated like that I will take my business from now on to Lowe's or The Home Depot. Hope the manager is happy with his decision not to honor the quoted prices and to insult me and my business as you have lost a customer for good.

PS I sent a brown survey form back on that great visit I had to Menards Sunday. You asked what other stores I have been shopping, I forgot to add ACE and online shopping.

I ordered 3k worth of steel roofing from menards. They showed up and dropped the load of steel 1o feet from the air off a boom truck. Damaging over half of my order.$1500 dollars worth of material. There is a two week delivery on special order matials. Then they decided to give me a 150 dollars in store credit. Is that fair. Im losing 2 weeks in business scheduling, labor and potential job lost. That cost me a couple thousand dollars a week. Isn't there more they should do about this. They should be more consumer caring. I get a sorry and a 150 dollar instore credit and they still make me wait and lose money. I could be bringing them a lot more business, but if this is the way things are handled. I'de rather be told the truth. {Sorry not our fault but here is how we are not responsible.) That is how i felt. Next time im going where the customer service cares

I just paid 10k for kitchen cabinets for my new home, the builders are almost ready for them, as my house is nearly complete. I went to Menards to see my cabinets that came special order from Schrock. I ordered cabinets in a very dark finish but the cabinets that arrived are blonde. I am told that I cannot return them, they will not send them back to get the right stain put on them, and since I dont want them, there is a 25% restocking fee. I dont feel I should have to pay a restocking fee for cabinets that were not stained correctly. The store manager and the Schrock rep both told me too bad, its policy. I wont be back to Menards ever.

just a quick note to tell you how pleased i was with a manager at the fox lake store. his name was kevin i am a trainer at ups freight in palatine and realize how important customer satisfaction is. i was having a problem with a trimmer kevin helped me with every aspect to resolving my problem. customer service seems to be a lost art at alot of big corporate companies but not yours. thanks i will continue to be a loyal customer with managers like this.

My husband and I purchased the materials to redo our roof with a metal roof. When it came to delivery they brought us the wrong order. Then, when they brought what was suppose to be the right order, IT IS THE WRONG ORDER, also!!!!! We have had to make several trips back to the Mernards here in North Platte, NE all at our expense without even a I'm sorry or anything to help us out. This is the VERY LAST TIME we purchase anything of this caliber every again from any Menards. This store is a poor excuse for a store. They lack in helping the customer especially once they got your MONEY!!!! All they know how to say is that is a special order item and you have to wait a week or two for the itm. When you are on a roof you can't wait and don't have time to wait. I hope you will take this to heart and do something with them. I've even considered calling the Better Business Bureau about this.

Well - needless to say I will not be shopping for future Items at Menards again. This company has the worst customer service and policies of any store I have ever done business with. I've had the same issue twice and they refuse to work with me at all. Their loss, as I have an entire house to remodel.

We had a house fire and purchased alot of our materials at the massillion ohio store. The people there are the most wonderful people i have ever dealt with in a store. I will always recommend menards to everyone. I give them 15 stars... you should give them a raise. Especially the ones in the loading docks. And alax in cupboards and john p in sales.

Menards needs a Veterans Discount. Home Depot give 10% off to all Veterans.

I bought a lawn mower from the store in effingham il. I got home and put the mower together. I then of course put oil and fuel into the mower to cut my grass. The mower would not stay running longer than a couple of seconds. I tried to return the mower 2 hours after I bought it. The returns employee told me I could not return it because I had put fuel in it. He then gave me a hand written card with a phone number and a first name on it. He told me I had to call this man and set up to take the mower to him to be repaired. The man was in a different town and the time and expences were all mine. I asked for the store manager who told me the same. I told him I didn't think that was expectable that if I wanted a working product from his store I had to have it repaired before I could use it. I then asked him " so im just stuck with it? " his response was " yes you are it's the policy". I told him I did have one other choice, I could leave the mower and he could figure out what to do with it. He said I couldn't leave it there. Well, I sat it on a menards shopping cart and left it at the front door. Cheaper is seldom better, especially when it comes to customer service.

At the Menards in Merrillville, Indiana there is a manager by the name of Bob who was rude and obnoxious. He actually came at me with his chest puffed out as though he was going to physically assault me when I asked him a question. This may seem trivial to those of a large stature but I am a female 5'o" and this guy was at least 300 lbs. I tried to report him at Customer Service but they were unable to locate anyone for me to complain to. I finally gave up and left. I now go to Home Depot and since I am remodeling my entire home, Menards lost a lot of money because of good old Bob

Why would Menards give themselves 5 stars when I gave them 1 star?

To whom it may concern, I purchased a $500.00 rototiller from Menards on Aug.2 2012 with my 11% rebate coupons I received from all the money I spent as aw home improvement contractor. I put gas into the engine and got it to run for 30 seconds to warm it up. I turned it off and it would not restart. So I took it back to Menards on Brown Deer Rd. in Milwaukee, Wi. and returned it. They said no, and I would have to get it repaired. So I left them with the machine, the receipt and my business card and left the store. I called the store Mang. and talked to Ed when I got home and he said Nick pushed it outside and left it in front of the store and there are not responsible for it any more. So what should I do about it? Anybody got any ideas? My email address is jjbhi50@gmail.com Jeff Bartelt.
