Everyone who says "I spend blah amounts of money every day.. Blah blah" just shut up already! It's probably your fault that things didn't go the way that you wanted them to! Keep your damn receipts and don't expect us to take back your stupid torn open used looking items. And as for this gas powered item not being able to be returned thing... IT CLEARLY STATES IT ON THE BOTTOM OF YOUR RECEIPT. I'm sorry if you are too ignorant to read it and act accordingly. Oh and one more thing, the front end isn't always full of people, we can't always just open a regester on command. If you don't enjoy your shopping experience at menards then take it somewhere else! No one wants to hear your bullshit! Thank you!
I can't stand the way the checkout works. I load my purchases on the belt, the cashier scans and I can't see the price. Then I am supposed to bag, check price and quantity, and give payment. The clerks just stand there waiting. I've had it, Home Depot, Lowes or Fleet Farm only from now on.
I also work with Menards. I have had a lot of rude customers, in my opinion, It's the fact that they think they should have everything for nothing. The rudest was on Memorial Day, a lady wanted to buy a gnome, she wanted me to price check it, claiming it was on Clearance for $5, it rang up $40. A price difference like that, requires approval from the specific department AND the Front End. She left pissy. JOYCE, the manager wanted you to bring your doors back because price adjustments HAVE to go onto an in store credit. If you wanted it back on your card, they have to return it and re-sell it. They have a big policy on not returning items that aren't physically in the store.
Just a quick note to let you know what a great job your employee Jason Spencer, at the Sterling, il. Menards store is doing. My husband( who uses a cane and is slow moving) had a list of items such as toggle bolts , silicone , screws, drill bits , and more which he needed to complete an installation of a bar top at the Ottawa K.C.'s Jason was patient and helpful in every way...he stuck with us and went to each department and made sure we got every item on our list...some of which were out of his department...I'm sure in his manager's status in his department he excels because of his customer caring. He is definitely an asset to your company.....the other staff we interacted with we're also very helpful. Good job of getting it right in the customers service department! We will continue to be on up your customer list! We ran our own business as cabinet maker so we know the value of good service and focused employees.again our thanks. Respectfully , George and Kay Blakeslee ...Spring Valley, Il.
My wife and I visited the new store in Topeka a week ago before the official grand opening. We found the store difficult to find things since associated items were in different areas of the store. Example: hoses, hose reels, lawn and garden sprays were in the middle of the store. We looked in Lawn and Garden. Our biggest disappoint was that Menards does not honor our military like Home Depot and Lowes by giving military discounts. I asked a store associate about military discounts and he just laughed and said nothing. I sent Menards an online comment and have heard nothing back. Menards has lost a customer before they officially opened today. They have nothing that I can not get at a better price at Home Depot or Lowes.
manard grandfork suck go to lows
Hi, My name is Dan Wormhoudt from Effingham, Illinois. I am a huge fan and customer of your Effingham facility. My purpose of this note/request is that I am also associted with the Effingham Co. Cultural Center & Museum Association (ECCCMA). We are in the process of renovating our 1872 Courthouse into a museum. One of the first exhibits to be completed, relates to transportation, specifically our Railroad history. We have begun initial benchwork construction for an HO scale layout of Effingham's Railroad history. We are currently in need of 40 1x3 8' pieces of construction grade lumber for the benchwork. This evening, I spoke with your manager in Building materials, who directed me to you concerning my request. If you could let me know as soon as possible if Menards can partner with us on this venture, I would be very appreciative. You can email me at: wormhoudt@mchsi.com or contact me on my work cell phone @ 217-343-8915. Thank you for listening and responding to my inquiry. Dan Wormhoudt
we been shopping at menards for 11years,and yesterday I had to leave the store because I ALMOST lost control , I had to tell them Ill be back with my husband I can't deal with you at this point... Heres why..If you didn't know Menards will give you in store credit on a item you purchas If it goes on sale within 14days of your purchase date,Well our door we custom ordered went on sale Sunday 15%off !!!! we paid 1,659.98 befor tax, we go a$50.00 credit for the door because of a damage from a nail holes last week.. so that brought the price down to 1,609.98 15% of this is $241.00 credit RIGHT ,They gave us 209.95 And i went over this even with a manager it was like i was totally speaking spanish to them ... ..do you think its wrong and how did she come up with the 209??? going today with Alex I need to check myself at the door :/
Wow ! This is the worst Company I have ever delt with. I purchased a 10000 barn a 2 months ago and still do not have all the parts. Everyone has a excuse, no one willing to help . THE BIGGEST JOKE !!!!!!!
I shop at menards in depere wis alot but evertime i go to the building dept to look at your decks there is this rude man steve. You ask for some information on decks he gives the info to you. But don't ask anymore information then he gets cranky to you he will say did you not hear me the first time. clean out your ears then you will hear me (not going to depere wis anymore)
I work for an ederly couple with many rental properties and I order, purchase and spend thousands of dollars for material to keep the properties updated in just one year. I could not believe the attitude given to these elderly people when I recently was with them at the menards store in ANKENY and the assistant manager at this store was whom they were dealing with. I do not believe this couple wanted any special treatment for the item they were purchasing and had a problem with this product not once but three times they brought this same product This assistant manager body language, tone of voice, and language used was all telling me she wanted nothing other than to blow them off, treat them like crap and get her self back into lounge chair she must of left to deal with something. I wanted to take this person out back for a real education on disrespecting them. I left MENARDS WILL not go back and now take those thousands of dollars in material per year next door at the LOWES store with real people, real employees, and a customer service that sees when a 72 year old needs help with one heavy purchased item they get off their butts and give her a little assistance without her asking at all. MENARDS assistant manager and employees stood and watched her struggle with this item three times she had to return to store for a working product I returned to help her because your lazy people stood and watched her and your assistant manager needs to be given a new job of mop the floor after hours to bring some light to her JOB but you keep her and I will let people in on how things and elderly are treated at mennerds in ANKENY IOWA RATING IS BIG ZERO
I will not be shopping at Menards any longer. I purchased two interior doors. The next day they came on sale. I called Menards in Marion, IL that day to ask if I could bring my receipt over because I wanted credit on my credit card. Actually, it was less than a day. I was told I had to physically bring the two doors back. One was 30" and the other was 32" wide. I had already purchased and installed two other interior doors and I wanted them all to match. I ordered an 18" door online the same day. I had no problem getting a credit to my credit card on that door from Menards.com. I live about 30 miles away, and I passed an HIW store, Lowes, Home Depot, and others to go to Menards in Marion, IL. I will not be doing that again, and in hind sight I should not have done that this time either. I have to go pick up my 18" interior door today, so I will comply with returning the doors and repurchasing them to get my refund on my credit card. I talked with the store manager, Amy, twice, and each time I was told to bring the doors back if I wanted credit on my credit card. It makes no sense to me. There is too much risk that the doors will be damaged putting them back into the van and taking them out again to go into the store to return the items and repurchase the same ones. Please explain the need to do this, and why there are no exceptions. Most places will work with a customer, but not Menards in Marion.
Don't like menards depere wis anymore, There was a guy there steve N an older guy don't know all of the last name but he worked in the building dept. He was really short with us when we asked a qustion almost cranky to us. And i had this problem with him before there is always howard menards i will shop
I am a current employee at mendards and love my position there I have never had a bad guest complaint or as a store in general since I started. I am currently moving up quite fast within the company due to hard work. I would gladly recommend this company as a great workplace....Dont bash the company over one bad experience. How many times have they not given you great service???? It is wrong to judge a store..a company over one bad employee. I would very kindly be happy to help anyone who needed my assistance. With that I leave this note please dont judge us over one bad shopping experience please talk with a manager to rid of these bad employees
For those who may be upset about menards not offering a veterans discount, you can thank a FOP group in I believe Wisconsin for suing menards for discriminating since they didn't offer any police discounts.
I agree with James L. who received a derogatory response from Ray in customer service. After shopping at many stores for countless building projects, I have never received a response like Ray provided. He seems to make an attempt at coming up with one-liners at the customer's expense without addressing the issue at hand. Is there no oversight at this company? Before this issue came up I thought equally of Menards, Home Depot and Lowes but now I know better.
My email to Menards: I was at the Menards store in Fox Lake, IL last week and had a horrible experience. I took the week off of work so I could do siding and windows on my home, and stopped in to buy the materials. As you can imagine, siding and windows for the entire home is a rather large purchase. My bank card declined, and I was brought over to the customer services desk so they could help me get checked out. The lady behind the desk was going to call a phone number (Master Card maybe) and get the purchase authorized. I told them I think the purchase amount is too high, and the bank probably put a freeze on the account because of the high dollar amount. It had happened to me before at Home Depot for a different project. After waiting for 10-15 minutes, she gets off the phone and informs me that they told her that she needs to cut up the card. I expressed to her that I don't want her to do that, and to contact a manager. When the manager came (Kevin A.) he was briefed on his walk over by this cashier about the situation, and when he arrived, made a quick decision to inform me that if the cashier was told that the card has to be destroyed, that Menards has to follow those instructions. I tried explaining to him that the card was just swiped for a $2,700 purchase, and that likely my bank thinks the card is stolen, and put a freeze on it. I tried to ask him to contact the phone number on the back of my card so I can speak to a rep, answer some questions about myself verifying I am trying to use the card, and that they'd turn it back on. He had already made his decision, and didn't want to listen to what I had to say any longer. I pleaded with him to think about how he'd feel in my position, and that if the card we
Wow these reviews are so goddam hilarious. I could read this for hours hahaha.
They are an unethical organization. Their staff is a reflection of their poor corporate values. I can't wait until they go out of business. And they will. Poorly run companies eventually do.
