Does Menards have a policy for moving managers in new stores and then having affair with married coWorkers. Like justin is doing in cape Girardeau ?

Please forward to the Superior Wisconsin Store Manager. I want to start by saying I have always enjoyed the service and the shopping in the Superior Store and I probably shop there a couple of times a week and always receive great service. Today (7/7/12 1:00 pm) however was the worst/most humiliating experience I have ever had shopping anywhere. I visited the hardware counter where 3 of your employees were relaxing and chatting a bit. I was there to buy a 5' x 10' Utility tariler @ $1088.00. There were two in the lot one of which had light rust and faded wood. I asked the female brunette (I didnt aquire her name). I told the girl I'd prefer the better one of the two if possible. While she was looking for titles she could only find one and seemed to be upset that she had to look for the second and was acting a bit huffy. She only came up with one and she said "you'd better hope this is the one you want because this is the one your gonna get. I can't find the second title" As we were walking out the door I told her that one had some rust and was older and she said "What? You don't think the other one is ever going to rust?" I told her I was aware of that but would prefer the newer one if possible. Needless to say the title was for the older/rusted one. She whined about not being able to find the VIN's and I showed her where they were. She whined going back into the store and I pointed out that she would eventually have to find the other title and I had time so why not do it now. She whined and was huffy again at the hardware counter and I could no longer hold my tongue about her attitude. I said " you're just a lazy little "B' aren't you?" I said "B" not bitch. She immediately said she was going to call security and have me thrown out of store and I told her I wanted to work with someone else. She got on the walkie talkie (where everyone can hear) and said " send some people back I've got a guy back here giving me a hard time and calling me names. A couple of guys came back to the counter to assist her and somehow within 30 seconds she produced the correct title. She appeared to take some enjoyment in harrassing me. Jon was polite and very helpful and I was able to walk out of the store with the trailer I wanted. I feel I was embarassed and harassed because I had a small special request. Needless to say I no longer feel welcome in your store and plan to discontinue my shopping at the Superior store. This is the only complaint letter I've ever written in a lifetime. I wouldn't be writing if the situation didn't warrant it. Again, please make sure the management of the Superior store receives this email. Thank you.

Your customer service is lousy, I recently tried to return a cheaply made drain that came with the sink, and was told by the plumbing manager that they would not replace it. I would think that if your willing to sell the junk you would stand behind it.

I was denied a job at the new store in Cape Girardeau, Mo. I thought for sure they hired anybody because they hired Solo DePree a known junkie, theif, and con man.

One thing after another. We saw a stove on sale for $350. Reg $399. My husband went back to town and purchased it. He gave me the receipt a couple days later and I noticed they charged us $399. We went in to get the discrepancy corrected and were told there was nothing they could do because they could not tell if there was a sale on that item 3 days prior! Now we have a family member working there, and turns out that was a bunch of BS and we were ripped off. The other day we were looking for 'Seven' powder that was on sale and a rebate. The shelf was empty. We scanned the boxes way up top for the number and none was there. About 15 minutes later we found someone to ask. He went and asked someone else. He came back and said someone was going to the back to check. 25 mins later, still no response, so we started walking around and getting other items we needed. At the end of an isle in another department we found a bunch of boxes waiting to be put on the shelves. I noticed the box with the number of the item we were looking for! We grabed the box, opened it, took what we wanted and put the rest on the shelf. Hope it screwed up their inventory. Today I open up a pair of chemical gloves (not cheap) to work on stripping some furniture. We bought extra large because that was all they carried. Well inside the package were size small. I don't have a small hand! Will try and return these without the receipt as we don't have it anymore. Last chance Mitchell, SD Menards!

a few years ago I bought a sump pump for my home and in stopped working within a month and because of waterback up it looked bad. Menards in Grand Forks were rude and wouldn't do a thing b ecause they said it had not been used as a sump pump. I thru it and had to go buy another at Dubs Sump pump company. I just saw this site and wanted to make it known

I was parked at Menards in Rochester, MN on June 14th and we had a storm come through. As I came out of the store, I noticed that one of the display buildings had blown into my car and as soon as it hit my car broke apart, I had cement blocks impaled under my car that we actually had to jack my car up to get out. When we went into the store to get a manager, they took pictures and had me stand around why a accident report was filled out. No sorry, just someone will contact you tomorrow. I called my insurance company the next day, since I never heard anything from Menards Gallagher Bassett Services, Inc. My insurance company sent out an adjuster, my car had extensive damage in the amount of $2,600.00 dollars. It took three days for me to finally get someone on the line with me. I was told that Menards was not at fault and they are closing my claim. It is really sad that you have a new car with only 19,000 miles on it and you pull into a parking lot to spend money at a store and because of their "displays" I left with a new car looking like crap. I never once got "I'm sorry" or anything. I am building a new home and I tell you what Menards is not the only lumber store in Rochester, MN. So you know what Menards, Home Depot and Lowe's will be getting my business, and just to let you know I am the youngest of six kids with lots and lots of family in friends in the area. Bad business goes a long ways now days. Your customer service and empathy have just cost you even though you think I am one person, I am actually alot of people that will discontinue shopping at your store. Respect goes along way!!!

I purchased a padio door from your menards store in Findlay Ohio, and it was supose to be a right hand sliding door. they gave me a left handed sliding door instead. By the time I got home the contractors has the original door out and the new sliding padio door almost in. thats when I noticed it was the wrong sliding door. I sent in all the information on the purchase of the padio door in to the company as requested. I went back to the store in finday ohio and talked to the person that sold me the padio door and he put the WRONG NUMBER ON THE ORDER. So there for I got the wrong door and it was not the contractors fault as your letter back to me has suggested. It was a mistake of one of your employers. I thought at least you would do something for me about this matter. I always thought your company was an upright company that took care of business if there were any problems. My contractors did not know that the padio door was the wrong one till AI got home and told them. And it was to late to call the menard store in findlay to have them bring me the right padio door. So please get back to me on a sugestion on want you want to do about this matter. I would like a new padio door that I thought I ordered or a refund of some kind . My name is Kathryn Balderson 10590 W Twp Rd 36 Fostoria oh 44830 or my e mail is kmariebald@aol.com will be waiting for your answer. I would rather talk to a live person but no one answers your phone at menards headquarters. I find that kind of bad that no one in your company wants to talk to a customer that has over the years spent lots of money in your stores.

Buyers beware, if you buy a gas powered machine and use it and it breaks don't dare take it back. Cause they will tell you it's policy no equipment with gas that has been in it cannot be brought back to them. It must be taken to a sevice center which is any one they look up in the phone book. Most so called sevice centers don't even know they are sevice centers or won't work on the equipment. There are no posted signs or the cashier don't tell you this as you pay for the equipment. They only care about the all mighty dollar and not the people. To the management take a class on how to be respectable to the people who pay your salary. If it wasn't for us shoppers, you would be flipping bugers somewhere else. As for the manager at the mt pleasant store you do have a boss and I hope he reads this. I know nothing will come out of this. I just hope no one else makes the same mistake I did if they reads this.

I usually go to the Rochester No Store. I feel they are big enough to help you and small enough to know you, The young man that help me with my problem Mark Udovich and he was patienct, knowledgeable and took all the time he felt I needed to have me understand how to do it. I was very happy when I left and felt very confident in gettng the job compleated.

I put an application in at the marion store last week. I called today 6/12/12 and talked to the Human resources cordinator and told her that I had put an application in and was just wanting to check on the status of it she asked what day I had put it in and I told her Last thursday.. I really dont know what Her problem is but She was VERY rude.. He response was " well I looked at the applications last thursday and if we wanted you we would have called you"... There was absolutley NO reason for her to be so Rude.... she could have kindly said. Im sorry sir but we arent doing any hiring at this moment but I will keep your application on file for (how ever long you keep them) and if were interested we will give you a call... You need to teach her and many of your other employees some customer service!

I will have to concur with Anthony from Buffalo, MN. The exact same thing happened to me with a new lawnmower (Briggs and Stratton). My store in Green Bay area told me to bring it in for an exchange. I went home and siphoned out any gas, brought it back and then they turned around and said I had to take it to a waranty daler! I wish I would have found this site before purchasing the lawn mower. And it was not for price, as I could have picked up a cheaper one at home depot! It is also unfair since no one mentioned the return policy or is it posted by the lawnmowers. It is only until after the purchase when you look at the receipt is it mentioned. That smacks of deceptive practices.

I wish I had seen this site before my purchase at Menard's! It sounds like a significant number of people have had the same horrible customer service experience when attempting to return defective equipment to Menards. I'll called the 800 number on my Simpson power washer when it quit after 1/2 an hour. I was instructed to take it to a "service provider". Lugged it there to be told that, since I had purchased the "extended warranty", I should just take it back to the store. The store, 75 miles from my home now advises that it's "corporate policy" that the service provider must certify it as manufacturers defect before they will accept it as a return. $37 inspection fee. Ran fine for 1/2 and hour, full of oil,no signs of abuse, just seized up. What am I missing here?

I will never shop at the Menards in Burnsville Minnesota ever again adn maybe no other menards for that matetr. There customer service is below poor and they really dont seem to care but would rather pass the buck to the customer and they did no wrong. If thew cashier had only rang up the delivery correctly the first time maybe the delivery would have been on time and worht the money I had paid.

I have to admit the company is a joke to work for. I worked there for almost 9 years and it was crazy how little I got paid for how much knowledge I had. 10 dollars a hour was max for weekdays and weekends was only 12.50. They even admit they don't care about the customer. Grab the money and run is their logo. Sad for a company.

To whom it may concern" I have been a very loyal customer to your store for years. I am not a contrator but this year alone I have redone two rooms in my house and spent about $30000 this year alone. I went into your store to by two boxes of ceiling tiles that I ran short on and your store Manager Nick Wegehaupt from you Morton Grove store in Illinois, would not price match Lowes special order price. I pass two Home Depot stores and a Lowes store on the way to your store. If I have to stop at Lowes to pick up a special order I should just do the rest of my shopping there also. The difference was a matter of $12, but it made me feel like I wasnt appreciated as a customer. He explained it would be a lose to the store. A lose of $12 may have just cost you a valued customer.

I bought a infrared heater back in Jan of 2012. There was a 11% rebate going at the time and I sent it in and to this date I have not received my rebate yet. I have wrote another letter to the customer service dept. and sent in another rebate to the rebate center. I have been back to the store 3 times with no result. I spoke with the asst mgr Jeff at the Grand Rapids store and he did not apear to be to conserned about my problem. He just said I would have to write to the rebate company and explaine,EXPLAINE WHAT.I have been in retail all my life and you need to take care of your customers. There is lots of competion out there and you just LOST a customer. DO YOU CARE?

As a proud Menards employee I would just like to say people need to get a hobby. All i see is complaining. For one menards does not manufacture the lawn equipment we sell, Thats why it carrys a MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. When you buy a car from a dealer and it breaks down they do not give you your money back, they service it per their warranty. Also, some of you should try working in retail for a day and see how it is. At our store we get anywhere from 2100 to 3200 people thru the door daily, so it is not always possible to spend half an hour with every guest that walks in the door. I chose my career in retail cause i like the ability of interacting with the public and meeting new people everyday. I have worked at other retailers that are not as gueat orientated. Go to Home Depot or lowes and see if they have as many employees as menards to help you. Menards has lower prices and does not cut its staff to keep lower prices. We get guests everyday that come from the competitors cause they could not get the assistance that they get at Menards. And yes at times inventory runs low on products, which happens, you can not forcast a run on some items. It takes 6.5 million dollars to stock the shelves at a typical Menards. So if you have 12 of a certain item that has not sold for 3 months and then all of a sudden someone needs 20 of that item, it happens but we are more than happy to order the difference or find it for you. Im sure the average person has ran out of milk at their house, Why dont you have seven gallons sitting in your fridge so that doesnt happen. I understand it can be frustrating when something you buy doesnt work or sometimes there isnt enough of an item on a shelf to fulfill an order, but that doesnt make a retailer bad. Menards is a great retailer and employer, I am proud to work for them.

I am a contractor that spends thousands of dollars in your store each year. The last year I have had nothing but issues with special order parts from your store. From siding coming in the wrong color and not getting the right color in on time or not at all to complete my job and losing over $8,000.00 on it and being told sorry will make it right with you. Never happened. Garage doors taking way to long and not getting to me when I was told they would be here. Letting your contractor rep quote out hte metal I needed for a barn and not getting enough of the materials I needed, wrong color, metal not cut square, reordered metal I drove to Ohio to get so I could finish the barn I am building driving back 3 hours to find out they cut it not to specks I gave them. Had to reorder for the 3rd time and wait 7 days again now the cupalos didn't come in with sides drove to store to take back old ones reodered again got e-mail they were ready for pick up and roof was there and was told the rest was shipped to my home address. Haven't seen them yet and barn needs completed. Finished a roofing job I always pick up my materials, but needed them set on the roof so I had them delivered by your company and when the driver got there he said I didn't pay to have that done he got very rude with me dropped the load told me it wasn't my problem and drove away. I find it real hard to stay with your company any longer i have been given no compensation or have they even offered to make it right with me. I'm done

i work a coumbus indiana i work in receiving i think we should get more pay then $8.85 to work in receiving we are so short people i work a lot of over we need help
