If I could give under one star I sure would! My trip today was AWFUL! I was getting X'tra laundry soap that was on sale and I had a coupon. I wanted 81 of them. The lady that got them all and took them up to the register was great until I had to deal with the manager!!!! He was the worst! His name was Jason and this the the Eastown Rd store in Lima, OH. One of the ladies that was standing up front took my coupon and said I am going to show this to my manager and she did and camer back and said my manager said you can only use one coupon.. I said what? So she went and got him for me.. He said because it says- limit one coupon per item on the coupon- I could use only one coupon per item. I told him that was ridiculous and tried to explain my years of couponing information to him that, that would be the case if it said one per transaction but he didn' listen. He was very rude, not polite at all. So, I sat there through 81 transactions of laundry soap!!!!! I apologized to the cashier because this was not her fault but it was just unreal! Maybe you need to teach yout employees about coupons if you are going to accept them! I was a normal paying customer just that I used coupons so I was made to feel like I was not. My kids new saying is Dont Save Big Money At Menards!!!!

Very poor service by Manager Larry ?, a short chubby, wide body Guy with a confrontational style of Management at the Miller Parkway store Milwaukee. Customer Service is lacking. Operates with Little Man syndrome, A number of associates have notice problems with this Menard's Representative on a regular basis. I guess the cry of the critic is always louder. I was looking for Mennards 800 number and happened on this site. MY GOODNESS...I've been shopping at Mennards Mooresville IN for YEARS..the employees are the best, always helpful, always nice. I can't imagine any of the things that people have complained about above..it has never been my experience, thank goodness. They all do such a good job, I go there first for anything I need. If you don't have it I begrudgingly go somewhere else. I am disappointed that you offer less options on items like ceiling fans, all the same, and patio furniture ALL DARK...Lowes the same..to bad...I'm not spending money because it's all dark boring stuff. Your employees are super as far as I'm concerned. GOOD JOB.

Menards is a very low and crypt place to shop Employee are rude as if they don't get pay enough. Base on my experience in most menards store I will not recommend anyone I care for to chop there I live in champaign Illinois it ridiculous those peoples working there are not friendly at all. J... I am spending fortune at least give me good customer service no that don't happen in menards please go to lowes and home depot staff are well behave and more friendly. If I hate you I will definitely send you to menards if I love you that not the place I will send you ...adios menards enough is enough

WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. I ORDERED AN ITEM, PAID FOR IT AND IT NEVER CAME. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. MY ORDER WAS MARKED "DELIVERED" WI... THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT I LIVE IN NEW YORK!!! TRIED CALLING A SUPPORT DESK ... IT DOESNT EXIST. THIS IS A SCAM! STAY AWAY!

The Dolton IL store is very unprofessional and slow from the managment to the clerks. The literacy level apears to be low as well.

I was at the South Haven,MI store. This is the worst store I ever shopped at. Bill Simon the store manager is a piece of shit. He refused to help me and told me to figure it out my self. The team members at the paint desk all ignored me even the manager of that department sheila. she looked right at me and walked away as if i never existed. I had no other choice but to take my business to Lowes. I will continue to take my business to Lowes and never step a foot in menards store again. Bill Simon needs to be fired. On other occasions when I was in the store he told his team members what the fuck when they did something wrong that is not a way to talk to your team it just brings down their morale. If your team members are doing things wrong you discipline them behind doors not in front of other team members and customers. I expect an email back that he has been fired or I will not come to any menards store again and will continue to spread the word. So far I have 20 people that are refusing to go to menards because of this and a lot of them are contractors that I personally know. I went to the Menards in Quincy IL to buy fatwood fire starter over the course of 3 weeks.....you have been out of stock for 3 plus weeks so I went to Lowes, Depot and Walmart and bought the products I needed.....YOU must have forgot or do not understand the simple fact that you must be in stock year round ......my money can and will be spent anywhere...YOU NEED ME I DO NOT NEED YOU.....sure it cost me a little more but I am willing to do that instead of supporting a poorly run store.

After going to the checkout stand and getting rude and employees with attitudes in the Ionia Michigan store i wanted to purchase some food items that were 20% off if they would fit in a bag. The display didnt say what type of bag you needed so when i went thru the line the illiterate woman running the counter said i needed a special bag. I asked for one. She said i had to walk over to the greeting counter which was 80 yards away. It is the biggest menards in the state, and get one. I said you dont have one ? We are not allowed. Being handicapped i was appalled. No more shopping at your store. I will let all know.

I recently purchsed over 26 boxes of wood laminate at Menards. They went down in price 2 weeks later. I went back to get the price difference and they would NOT honor it becuase it was not 14 days but rather 16 days difference!! The reason it was 16 days was because of all the Christmas holidays they had in between and the stores were closed then anyway! This is one customer who won't shop at Menards anymore! At least Home Depot and Lowes are respectable and considerate. Maybe Menards will finally go out of business because of such poor customer service!

Just curious...I have been reading all these comments about Menards before I decide to buy some large items i need for my home....and 99% of them are NEGATIVE!! Whats up with that? I guess the customer knows best and perhaps I will shop elsewhere!!.. Thanks all for the feedback and helping me make the decision to NOT SHOP AT MENARDS.

While shopping at Manards in Toledo Ohio on Alexis Rd. I found myself very happy when a employee names Clint helped me with my things to my car. He had also been very helpful inside the store when I could not find the items I needed. There was another employee who would help me everytime I would go into that store Named Justin. Justin was very polite and always walked me right to the items I was shopping for. I was so sad to find out from Audry (who seems very stuck up) that Justin got fired. She was all to happy to tell me the story. Thats crazy! Justin I will miss you helping me when I shop at Manards. Manards you lost a good kid there.

Every company has there problems. I am shocked about how many people complain. Do you realize that they are humans too? I have never been mistreated in anyway shopping at any Menards. People complain when the employee comes up to them, People complain when they don't. They put people first which most stores are all about the number of sales not costomer service. I have been shopping at Menards since 2000 and I plan on keeping it that way!!!!!

I am a long time Menards customer. I received the Menards Big Card in July of 2010. I keep getting charges for account protection each month. I canceled this three weeks after getting the card but I continue to have these charges taken out. I have been on the phone most of the afternoon trying to get to a operator. When I finally get to the cancelation number I get the audio prompt telling me Menards is closed for the holidays and it subsequently disconnects me. When I applied for the card in July I was told I would have a year of no interest. I am being charged interest. I talked to an operator at HSBS this afternoon and they gave me a very bizarre explanation. I was told that I would have had to use the entire amount in one purchase to get interest free. I have used the card to remodel a bathroom in my home. I came to my credit limit over a number of weeks. I am very disappointed in this policy. My wife and I have spent upwards to $50,000 dollars at Menards since 2006. This has all left a very bad impression on me. I have lots of alternatives in Lowe's, Home Depot etc... but I have always chosen menards because it is a midwest based company. These are not midwest values. It seems like a scam to me. At the rate my billing is going, the only way I will ever touch the principle balance is to pay the card off in its entirety. With interest and account protection I am upwards of $150 dollars a month before principle. This is simply unacceptable! Unless I get a reasonable resolution I will no longer spend any of my hard earned money at Menards period!

took purchase back without receipt , they said they could"nt find it in da computer so they kepy it. Told me to give them a couple days & they would find it. I was not happy, but it got worse when they said i couldn"t get my saw back implying that if it was not in there computer then it must be stolen.Oh I"M sure computers never screw up. I wish I could rate this negative 10 but poor is the best it will let me do. We purchased pvc fence from our local Menards to "Save big money at Menards" we had this fence professionally installed to the specks laid out and lots of concrete and other stuff we had to install it properly into the ground. This was over 5,000 in cash laid out. When the first wind storm blew in we lost over 7 panels to the wind due to the fence being inferior design? This fence was in the ground less than 1 week @ this point we have since lost over 25 of the 40 panels of PVC fence due to the normal high winds. We took the first bunch of panels to Menards for a refund and lost 4 more that same day? We asked them if there was a better design to fix this problem as when we went to get some replacement panels they fell apart trying to load them on the trailer. The local store told us we would have to deal with the manufacture in Canada? WHAT? We bought the panels from Menards not the manufacture. But we tried this game and when we left the information with the manufacture he emailed my wife back saying that he would be out on vacation until 12-8-2010, Now we are still waiting on the solution not the shafting we got for the money put out to Menards??? Who gets the profits for the bad cheap products we do??? This is wrong and somebody should do something about this issue. We are Americans and should be treated fairly in these tough times. We work hard for our money not to have it scammed away by shysters. ADVICE DON'T SPEND MONEY WITH MENARDS GO TO A LOCAL COMPANY WHO YOU CAN TRUST???

Mason City,IA Location is a joke. Very unhelpful. Called for pricing inquiries and the lady did not want to cooperate, asked for the number to corporate and said they are not allowed to do that! Please Lowe's or Home Depot, move to Mason!

his is how the story begins. . . This year we have lots of snow in Minnesota , so I decided to buy a snow blower to help me out on 12/21/2010. I called Menard's at Dundas, Minnesota, they just got 2 of 24" snow blowers in ,then I asked could if I could buy one by phone , the Menard's employee say sure you can do it, (at this moment I’m so happy ,because I got one snow blower) but he didn't tell me anything about the return policy. . . I told him I pick up it by tomorrow, which is 12/22/2010, the next morning my wife and I went to the store. We were at the customer desk doing the paper work so we could pick it up and none of Menard's employee told me anything about return policy. I went home, install the handle, put oil and gas. Guess what F happen: leak gas, auger making noise. so I call them 2 times and let them know what is going on. 1st time at the morning before I found out it leak gas and auger making noise. I call back to the store told them this unit is leaking gas and the auger making noise. He said sorry, can’t return it because you put gas in, because that is return policy, but he is kinda easy to help me out. call vendor ask where is the local repair service, 2nd time I called at night 10 Min's before 9pm. This time a different guy answered the phone call . I told him what’s going on, what is wrong with this unit I bought from this morning and ask why can’t I return this unit to store or exchange ? Guess what he say.. we have the sign about return policy around the store, I tell him PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THE CUSTOMER SAID. I’m telling you one more time, I said I bought this unit BY PHONE NOT IN THE STORE AND NO ONE TELL me ANYTHING ABOUT THE GAS POWER ITEM RETURN POLICY, or am I shopping at the museum??!!! Read the sign??? I only read the sign, when I’m in the museum. What did Menard’s hire you guys for ?? Stand around, talk and fool around? Please do your job, help the customer out! He said do you want to talk to the sales manager, I’m say ok This is the 1st time I talk to this store sales manager, she is an ok manager by the way, lets keep go on, I told her same thing like what I told other Menard’s employees, and she telling me the same thing about the gas power item policy. Also she say, on the receipt should be telling me the gas power item policy, then i ask her is this a electric snow blower and a gas snow blower?, if i dont put gas and oil, how i can use it . should i put soft drink into the unit? or should i use water? also I said from the beginning I order this unit by phone till I picked it up. None of your employee tell me anything about the gas power item return policy, the one thing they say this unit sells fast and where I can pick it up. I said looks like and sounds like your company/this store cheating on the customer, etc . What happen when an immigrate buy one of this unit and it has same thing happen? They can’t speak English, ask for help or return. Is this how your company or store make money from the customer?!?!?!? At this moment , I think she feels sorry. I said if you are going to best buy, buy a TV went home plug it in to the power, and it’s not working, you bring it back, they said they have to take 15% off, for the open item, because this is return policy. At that moment how would you feel ??? No one ever told you the return policy needs to take 15% off or no return on a broken tv. she said I’m sorry.....and she said I wish I could do anything for you but I can't , I think you could call the vendor for the repair service, it should be under warranty for 2 years. I’m ok, but I would like let you and your employee know, do the best job for every customer. Don’t just talks around and not help everyone out, and please check out the complaint forum on web... she said I will train my team members better, I said not just better , customer needs BEST not just better. And she shut her mouth.. At the end i said . Thanks for your time and please make sure every customer know about the return policy. If I had known it, I wouldn’t buy it. Menards CEO ( i dont knwo who is it, and i dont care.) USE YOUR BRAINS!
