Went to lima,oh.store last friday about 1:00 to get a few of their 3 day specials. They were out of every item. When I asked why they have a 3 day sale and can't even have enough for a half day I was told it was out if their control. Of course even the flier left them with the advantage of saying"too bad"! But no rain checks could be issued. If this was ny first experience with their ads I would say I.was annoyed but it has happened many times now and enough is enough! Come on menards gas costs way too much to bait us into your store with as far as I am concerned false advertising.
My complaint is about a store manager in bolingbrook. His name is roy Collins and he is one of the biggest jerks I have ever met. Not only is he rude to customers but also to his employees. In my opinionhe has no rite to be a manager. I think he deserves to be fired
chris t at the lacrosse wis store is very unprofessional and has a very poor attitude and should be let go
I,m a contractor that uses Menards quite often. The menards in Burlington Wisc. is very good. They are a lot better than Lowes n Home Depot around us. Even though they supported our govenor scott walker(scooter), I cannot boycott them because I think they know their stuff. Stop supporting a tyrant like scott walker(scooter). May he be recalled!
Efforts to obtain a rebate were met with requests to resubmit the paperwork (again), mailbox full and busy signals. Menard's is a scam operation
Went to Menards - Baxter, MN. Looking for Rustoleum High heat paint. Paint was in the incorrect slot. Spoke to area manager, gave us a load of crap that a customer moved all the cans to the incorrect space. Spoke to managment. Got the same load of crap. Spoke to Mark GM. Give the same load of crap. Must be a script Corporate gives them to follow. Obviously a the employees put the paint in the wrong slot, but easier to blame customers. Would not give it to us for the price when the can was placed. Shame on Menards. Must think they will go broke over $6.00. Intersting since they just put a mulit-million dollar bid on a piece of property in the Twin Cities. Interesting too that last week the store had items in the wrong place and they gave it to us for the lesser price. Freaky employess think Menards will support them when they are sick, old and feeble...NOT! Why work to save the company a buck they don't care about you petty, frustrated employees working for minimum wage. WAKE UP! it's only a job. As for Menards the business. SCREW YOU!.. This is the end of the line for me. They have F'd me enough. I gave them a second chance after they sent a broken refrigerator to my house that tore up my floor and cost me thousands of dollars and a lost law suit. Screw me once, even twice Shame on you, but you won't get a third time.
This is Mrs. Johnson in Bloomington, Indiana. I am sitting down right now to write a letter to the Menard's Corporate office in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. My letter is in response to the way the employees of Menard's are NOT providing adequate customer service. My letter will state that after a particular experience on 4/9/11 regarding their Bloomington, Indiana store, I immediately notified the store's Manager, Brian Christianson of the problem I encountered, in which his sales associates in the building materials department were ignoring customers. His indifference to this problem was shocking. He offered no apology, nor did he offer to check into it further with his employees in that department. The manager's name was Brian Christianson. The store is located in Bloomington, Indiana. I HAVE spent a sizable amount of money at that store and we are gearing up to tackle several big-ticket $$ projects like cedar siding and flooring, but we are fortunate because in Bloomington, Indiana, we have a Lowe's, as well. I personally have been a business owner for 25 years and I DO understand the value of customer satisfaction, so I will write a letter to Corporate, putting them on notice that a follow-up post WILL be added on this site. My follow-up post will inform other potential Menard's customers whether or not Menard's has offered any explanation for this company-wide problem. If my letter goes completely ignored and unanswered, I will post that information, too. They are a huge corporation, so one should be able to assume that they understand how public opinion sways other consumers to visit -- or deliberately avoid -- their stores, so we'll see if anyone at Menard's CARES about the customer enough to acknowledge that they have a very serious problem COMPANY-WIDE with respect to their sales associates (and from these blogs, it is clearly not just an isolated store-specific problem). I hope to remain a Menard's customer, but I will refuse to support a company that clearly does not support it's customers. I would be happy to hear what steps they are taking to remedy this problem. Watch for my updated post in the next 2 weeks or so.
I know that the Menards store in Kenosha, Wisconsin has had a very bad reputation in the past. I stopped going there for a long time. When asked where an item was, the employee would say that Menards didn't carry the item or they would send you looking all over the store. That was if you could find an employee to ask. But in early March I went back. What a change. The employees were polite and very helpful. They actually come up to me and asked if they could help me find something. There are actual smiles on their faces. It's like night and day. Please give your local Menards another chance. Your store may have gone through the same transformation. It's a pleasure shopping at Menards again. Shirley
I was at the Menards store in Pewaukee WI on Capitol Drive....we bought a whirlpool electric stove that was on sale. First of all i had to find a route to my house that did not have signs that said under x amount weight on the road or they would turn around and go back to the store and i would loose the money i paid for delivery...what a joke...they had a route through subdivisions that it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out there would be weight limitations....so i find a route and they show up in this little pick up truck...what a waste of my valuable time....then we get the stove to find out it doesn't work....demanded they get me one ASAP which they did 2 days later which i was fine with...that one did not work either....we did find out later that was the fuse in the box that was bad so wasn't getting full power but instead of Kevin at the store saying ok maybe its this or that or even giving us ideas on what was wrong told us that they would not take it back and it was our problem now....i have never been treated so unprofessionally as i was in this store...he was very rude....Menards could be the last store on earth and i would never set foot back into one....had it not been for the deal we got on this stove i would have told them to take and shove the stove sideways.....Kevin you should not be in a business dealing with people because you are an indiot and thats putting it nicely......
I posted on here about my bad experience at Menards and now reading more posts from other people....wow Menards its amazing you still make it....sounds like for starts that i sure am not the only one that has had rude people to deal with.....I say HOME DEPOT here we come!
menards guy broke my windshield by carlessly shoving the 2x 10 in. accidents happen but when i ask for a copy of the incident report they say no, no, no... why not i say then they intimidate me and tell me i should use different transportation to haul wood with an attitude. and i have a feeling im going to get screwed... dont let them help you put wood in your vehicle. most times the wood is loaded before they get out there this time hes out there right away and carlessly shatters my windshield what a joke.... if i NEED help loading it ill ask. i never ask for help they just come and ruin my vehicle and then blame me... i have loaded maybe ten loads this way and never had a problem but when they load it they break your car then blame u
Haier (dehumidfier) I just finished a call into your company about my Haier dehumidfier (less then 3 years old) not drawing water. I was told that there is no such thing as customer service to help me trouble-shoot this product. I will not be buying anymore of your products and will limit my shopping at Menards. Thank You FRANK G STEFFEL
To Whom it May Concern: Mastercraft patio swing doors were purchased in the spring of 2007 at the Menard's in Clive, IA. In the past year the center standard has rotted at the bottom allowing moisture to enter. The threshold of the door is now totally rotten along with the floor in our family room where the doors are located. We had primed and painted the doors immediately after installation. They are located on the west and east sides of our home and are not in a shaded area. Since we started talking to Menard's about our situation in November of 2010 NOTHING has been resolved. The manufacturer finally came to inspect in March and we were told we would receive a letter in 1 week with a decision. That has now been 2 weeks and we have received NOTHING. In the meantime, our floor condition continues to worsen while we wait on some type of decision on the doors so we know how to proceed. These doors had a lifetime warranty. My feeling is that 3 years is a short lifetime for the doors. I am extremely disappointed in the customer satisfaction aspect of Menard's. We have been ignored and delayed needlessly! If I don't hear something in 24 hours, I will NOT be shopping at Menard's or recommending it to anyone else. Respectfully, Cynthia K. Fowler
I have purchased three of your items over the past year that have had rebates. I fill out the forms and send them in and never hear back nothing. The first was in march of 2010 and was for the paint roller it was %14.99 rebate of $10 nothing was ever received. then I bought your lightw/ the fan on sale for $49.99 with a $20 : LIsa Gust 9709 SnowBowl Rd Houghton Lake MI 48629 (989) 915-7034 (989) 915-9096 I do have copies of all three receipts if verification is needed. Please respond to this as soon as possible
My Uncle and I went to the a Menards Store in Clio, MI Sunday March 27th. Menards had an outdoor heater on sale we were interested in. We tried to stop a floor person and as she keeps walking away tells us the have no more. She also had called other stores. But by some miricale the Store Manager is able to call a store and have a couple sent to him today March 29th. He tells me I will have to pay $99.00, I can go to Lowes and get one for $89.00. It says while supplies last and if other stores have them then there is a supply yet. If the Sales Person would have done her job like she said we could gone to the store where there was still a supply and pick up the outdoor heater up. I am not sure what type of training is given to Managers and sales people but maybe continued education may make them more customer accomadating. We can have many good experiences but one bad one seems to wipe all the good ones away and this happens to be one of them. Respectfully Jim Hoover 810-441-8127 cell#
Not happy with your store because they no longer offer 10% discount to military. Home Depot & Lowes still offer this discount in appreciation to those who are or have served there country. I know now where I will be looking to spend our money first.
Customer Service. That is not in the Menards dictionary at the S. Emerson Road store in Indianapolis, IN. I went there to purchase 2 4X4X8 posts. I walked all over the store looking for the posts and did not see them inside. I finally found an employee and asked if the had the posts. I was directed to go outside to the lumbar yard. I went out to the lumbar yard and walked all around and still did not see the posts. I was heading back into the store when I saw an employee stacking stone pavers. I asked him where I could find the posts. He simply pointed to the end of the yard and advised I needed to go all the way to the back and there was a section in the middle that would have the posts. Mind you I was alone and a woman. I walked all the way to the end of the yard and finally found the posts. I looked at the sign and found the 4x4x8 posts. I struggled loading them onto the cart and was trying to wheel them out. I went past a couple of other employees and none of them asked if I needed assistance. When I checked out the cashier noticed I was struggling getting them to the register and also never asked if I needed assistance getting them to my vehicle. Needless to say as I was trying to load them into my SUV I wound up breaking my windshield. I went back to the store to advise the manaager of the poor service I received and I all I got was a sorry there is nothing I can do about that but I will talk to the employees. He was not concerned at all about my situation. After I got home and unloaded the posts my neigh informed me that they were 10 ft posts and not 8ft. If someone would have done their job and assisted me with this purchase all of the problems could have been avoided. I am very displeased over the service I did not receive and by being blown off by the manager. Menards is not the place to shop if you want customer service.
I bought a tiller at the Forsyth IL store today and it would not start and run because I put gas in it. I don't know how to start one without gas. They said to take it to a service center and the service center is two weeks out and wants paid up front. If the factory pays them they will reimburse me. I was just getting ready to buy all new fencing for my back yard guess where I'm not buying.
dont bother complain about your experience at maenards i worked there for sevral years and know that they just blow everything off. The only thing they care about is making money. John Menard is a very rich man he is also one of the worlds biggest JEWS. Everything I said is true. !!!!!!!!
We have made two trips to the nearest Menards Store, which is 85 miles one way, to get the correct measurements on a counter top as it was not made right, ( to short) on the second trip we purchased two kitchen cabinets, asked to get them at sale price like the first ones we purchased and request was denied, this was on a Friday, in the Sunday paper their sales ad had the cabinets on sale again, I called the store and they said just to bring in the slip and they would adjust the price and refund us, this is great, however tho, it means another trip of 190 miles and at the price of gas there should be a gift certificate of some sort to help Menards correct their mistakes and not be at our expence. These actions and attitudes of personal at their stores is going to cost them more then just gas money as I am sure we are not the only ones this has happened to.
