Menard's is a joke. He can not beat the prices of other competitors considering Lowe's will match the price and beat it by another 10%. The store is a joke with it's employee's lack of knowledge of the department they are working in. Plus there isn't a Lowe's or Home Depot anywhere near Eau Claire, WI the Headquarters of Menard's and it's manufacturing center. That's because Menard's knows that they will loose a ton of business if either of them got into the area. Take your money somewhere else because you will save money in the long run by not shopping at Menard's.

Do not buy Menards wood fencing products. My family had always wanted a fenced in backyard. We saved for over three years and bought all of our materials from Menards. I had a contractor professionally install the fence. The boards are warping beyond belief. I used a great stain and for what? Cheap pine boards that warp. Three of my neighbors have complained about how awful it looks. It's a shame this company would sell such an awful product. The lady who helped me pick out the fence sections said the fencing would look great and last for decades. All I can do now is tear all 280 foot of it down and hope that someday we can come up with enough money to replace it. Goodbye Menards. I will have nothing but bad things to say about your stores every chance I get.

Had a really bad experience in the Quincy, Illinois Menards. Ordered an order for delivery and on the day it was delivered the whole order was wrong. Nothing that was suppose to be in the order was tere so had them take all that back and place the correct order. Two weeks later when contacted the store was told that they still hadn't ordered the right order. Thereby setting back the date to do the job even that much farther. Therefore was going to cancel the whole order and asked for a refund (because of course you have to pay for the order before they will order it) and would go to another store to get the stuff. Was told there would be a 25% restocking fee and the delivery fee to bring the wrong stuff and to take it back. So asked for the correct order to be delivered and now they are going to charge another delivery fee. Whats up with that Menards Sure would like to know what kind of business you are trying to run. Won't shop at Menards again and we spend a lot of $ in there as a contractor. Will also tell all family, friends, and contractor friends to never buy there again. Maybe if you lose enough business you will make sure you change some of your policies. Also hire some people that aren't so rude

We shop in the Menards store in Jefferson City, Missouri 2-3 times a month as it is the closest one to us currently (we live in Lake Ozark). My husband and I both LOVE Menards and are looking forward to having one here soon; but, in the meanwile we will continue to drive the 35 minutes to this particular store mainly because we have ALAWYS gotten exemplary service there. Today was an exceptional visit and we would like to compliment an employee named Cesar who helped us in the bathroom fixture aisle. I'm not sure that was even his area, but he is the first employee my husband found to ask about an item that was out of stock on the shelf. Cesar first checked the status of two similar items in the computer and discovered one was currently awaiting unloading from a truck. He went back to the truck, and found the box and we got the shower head we wanted! Yeah!!! Awesomee customer service Cesar! Thank you for yet another wonderful shoppig experience :)

I bought a shower pan for 650.00 dollars and my installer went in for open heart and now I cant use shower pan menards wants 25% restocking fee I have contacted guest services and nobody can wave fee I have spent 5000.00 dollars in remolding and they wont wave the fee which is around 160.00 dollars of the 650.00 so I will not ever shop there again and my family will not also my brother spent 20000.00 to 30000.00 they are going to lose alot of business and there rebaes are in store only no cash so it isnt really a rebate because they get your money and dont want to help people like me that try to watch every penny so I hope other people dont go there until they treet us better thank you

I would give Menards the worst rating possible. There should not be any stars by the name Menards. We went through the Menards in Escanaba Michigan. What a joke. We ordered river rock and all the supplies from them. Over $3,000 dollars worth. We were supposed to get a $100 rebate on each bundle of rock. We ordered 4 bundles at $499. We called for a reciept because it was charged to our credit card. We recieved the reciept one day after the rock was delivered and called Menards for information on the rebate. They said it was too late and that there was nothing they could do. One girl we talked to would not even let us finish a sentence. She kept saying "I never heard of that before" Would not let us explain our situation. Tim(some sort of so-called manager there) said, "what do you want me to do? Give you $400?" They were sooooooooo rude and soooooooo clueless to what was going on. We were looking for help and MENARDS does not have a clue what help means. We will never spend one penny at such a horrible place and will tell everyone we know about our horrible experience. Where do they get these people from?

The Marion Illinois Menards is a GEM! Every time I have gone into that store the customer service is EXEMPLARY! Not to mention that the selection and pricing is second to none. Now I am hearing that a new store will be build in Paducah Kentucky which is closer to my home, that is wonderful news! Thanks Menards!!!

We built our dream home in Northern Illinois. A log cabin. We purchased almost every single item through the Freeport and Sterling Menards. After a couple of months our roof started to buckle and our 700 Series Peachtree windows have been leaking. This happens every single time it rains. We have followed all of your directions and it has cost us endless dollars to try and fix the problems. Everyone just wants to pass the buck. Menards says that Midwest Manufacturing has to ok the room replacement yet we have a letter stating we could return the metal and exchange it but only had 2 weeks to do it. Because it was black, the project could not be completed in the 2 week window that they gave us. Our Peachtree windows leak. We have replaced carpeting 3 times, sheetrock 3 times and as of last night - our roof is blowing off of our home, windows are leaking everywhere and all Menards can say to us is..."There is nothing we can do, you have to go back to the manufacturer." Now if we were to pull these windows out and return them with the receipt...would we get our money back like any other item that can be returned? This is insane. We are prisoners in our own home. The contractor that built our home said he used the materials Menards sent to put the roof on. Peachtree said the windows should weep fine...but they don't. They leak into our home, over the tracks, through our wood floors and down into our finished basement. Kyle and I have had it. If Menards would just step up to the plate and help us...we would be eternally grateful. We have filled out complaint form after form and it's still just a finger pointing issue. We can't live like this and it is a true reflection of Menards. We are so disappointed. We spent over 90k with you guys and you can't help us out with defective materials? Interestingly enough, once the manufacturers came to our home..it was someone else's problem, whether it be the contractor, or whatever. We are sick to our stomachs. We have been trying to reach Mike Holmes from Homes on Homes out of Canada to come down here and look at this and we are awaiting his response as to when he can make it. If he does...this is going to blow up. We are going to call the TV stations, The State of Illinois, and anything else that we have to do to bring attention to this problem that Menards just refuses to get involved in. Please, we are begging you...make this right. This is so wrong it's not even funny. We have hundreds of pictures of water coming in our log home. Now we have pictures of our roof hanging in the air last night. This is no way to live. At all. Do you even read these letters? We are disgusted and so incredibly disappointed. Menards..if you had a heart - you would help us and that is all we can say at this point. We have been in retail a long time and we would never treat a customer the way we have been pushed aside. My husband and I enjoy home improvement projects. We have spent thousands of dollars at the Plover WI store where we were treated fairly. Recently we shopped in Wausau WI where the service was not so good. At the check-out we were charged for 4 cases of tiles instead of 4 individual tiles for a difference of $29.88. When we discovered the mistake we had to walk the length of the store and wait through a long line at customer service. I wanted some small compensation for the time and effort I went through to straighten out the mistake Menards had made.I was hoping to get my $3.54 tiles for free. When a Manager came he had a bad attitude and said stuff happens but we do not compensate for it. I was given the number for the store manager who had the same attitude. He said that he does not believe in compensating customers ever, no matter what the problem is. I mentioned that a restaurant would compensate you if you had a bad meal and he said that he thinks it is wrong to expect that. He thought that I was wrong to ask them to compensate me for my hassles.It is a sad society we live in when the customer gets chewed out for going to Management.

Menards in Crest Hill,Il SUCKS! With their generic sunday manager and lying lawn and garden staff. When the time comes to clearance their shrubs and trees take your money elsewhere. Their receipt clearly states, Plant Guarantee: Menards guarantees all perennials,trees and shrubs for up to one year from the date of purchase. Simply return the item with your receipt and we will gladly exchange or issue a refund of your purchase price. Well Menard shoppers they will not exchange that shrub or tree you bought because now it is full price, something thy fail to mention on the reciept. And the lying girl in the garden center whom I'll call lying jughead tells you its exchangable then two weeks later denies and refuses to honor the written words on the reciept, and the generic sunday so-called manager thinks the whole circumstance is a joke. I bought a small can of paint as well as $140.0 worth of lumber from the west st Paul store. When I got home, a five minnute drive, the paint had tipped over and spilled all over the cargo space of my truck. I didn't touch it and drove back to the store. I wasn't upset accidents happen. I helped the manager clean it up and filled out insurance paper work. The insurance lady called and basically said I was to blame, because the paint can tipped and it could of just hit the lid in the right spot for the lid to come off. Now this moron is insulting my intellect, anyone who has bought a can of paint knows that you have pry it with a screw driver in order to get it open I hang up with her. It will cost $80 to replace my car mat.I call the general manager he says he will credit my account $50 and that is the best he can do. So I am out $30 because of the incompetence of your employee,who by the way said she sealed the can, if she did why did it spill?.... Now you Menards have lost a good customer, In a 2 mile radis of my home i can choose from Homedepot, Lowes and you Menards. I would still be a customer if you had if taken responsibility and paid for my paint stained mat. Best and worst advertising is word of mouth and I have a big mouth

Is there a negative number of stars available.. Why is it that we are all so disatisfied yet they are still in business. My favorite thing is that this week I called the corporate office, after attempting to address an issue for three months and I was informed that "Guests Services does not speak directly to guests, they only work in writing." When I asked to speak with someone about this idiotic policy I was told there was no one who would speak with me. COWARDS!! the whole lot of them!!

I purchased 72 bundles of Bilmore shingles that were on sale for $21.99 with a @2.00 per bundle mail in rebate for a maximum of $150. Menards charged me $23.99 per bundle for the rebate. The total I should have recieved was $144 for the rebate. I submited 6 rebate slips for the $144 and on May 10th they posted a $24 rebate which was never sent. I could not haul more than 15 bundles at a time and that is why I had 6 seperate rebate slips. It would appear that they only allowed one rebate slip per envelope for this rebate which is something new. There is no signs in the store or did anybody tell me that only one slip was going to be accepted. The add did not say anything about only one rebate slip being accepted. They took $2 from me per bundle and now will not rebate me for the $144. They also charged taxes on the rebate and they will charge taxes again when any rebate is used for a total of 14%. I would return the shingles but they will not give me what I paid for them as they will keep $2 per bundle for the rebate they did not pay. I will not take any business to them until they satisfy me. I spend a lot of money at the store in Dubuque and there is a Lowes store in Dubuque. I will drag them to small claims court and contact the Better Business Bureau and the Iowa Attorney Generals Office regarding the deceptive sales practises that they use to take money from customers. Essentially advertising a sale price and charging for a rebate and then failing to return the rebate money that they took. I spent over $2200 for the roofing materials and will return things not covered by rebate and puchase them at Lowes.

I purchased a flapper for my toilet. A dura flush model 502. This model is defective as the chain will become tangled under the lip of the plastic (there is too much room under the lip and the chain catches every time) and I brought it back to menards. Stephen the store manager BLAMED IT ON MY TOILET SAYING "ALL TOILETS ARE DIFFERENT!" What a bunch of crock! Then the store issued me a store coupon which I absolutely hate. So I went to get another flapper a model 501 which I had before that didn't have the defective make-up as the 502 and when I went to buy it with the coupon there was only .53 cents left over and I wanted it now AS IT IS MY MONEY........ LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN.. THAT WAS MY MONEY NOT MENARDS MONEY TO PLAY WITH! The store would only return the .53 cents to my debit card. Come on now !!! Stephen (the store manager) was rude and uncaring. He could of cared less if I was experiencing a problem with one of Menards products. Stephen even snickered at me rudely. From now on I will bypass menards and shop at the store across the street LOWES ! This is the last time I go into your store as I do not need to be treated like Stephen treated me today at menards and if I buy something and have to bring it back and there is a .53 cent difference, it is not your money to play with! YOU CANNOT CALL THEM AT CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS.... THEY ARE ALL HIDING FROM US.

I went to the Menards in Hillside IL. The temperature was 45 degrees, windy and rainy. My girlfriend,62 yrs old and I 55 yrs old went to purchase lattuce for my pool deck. Just two pieces. we drove around in back and waited for someone to come and unloft it. I helped the gentleman load it on top of the car! No big deal! Then I had to drive very slowly to the hut to get string. Ok I can do that! The gentlman in the hut gave me some string. I don't understand why not one MAN!, would offer to help me tie the lattuce to the car???? I was told that they weren't allowed to do that. My friend, 62 yrs old tried to help me!!!!!!! I had her sit in the car. I was already cold and wet and I didn't want her to catch cold! What kind of place do you run? What kind of gentleman do you have working for you? The man had his back towards me the whole time. Don't tell me he was to embarrassed to face me. I purposly go to the one in Hillside. Everyone is so nice there. I made a big mistake! *** I BOUGHT SOME ITEMS AT THE STORE IN MAPLE GROVE, MN AND TRYED TO BRING THEM BACK AFTER I NEVER RECIEVED THE RECIEPT IN THE FIRST PLACE AND THEY TOOK MY STUFF AND TOLD ME I WOULD GET A IN-STORE CREDIT IN THE MAIL. I NEVER DID. IT WAS ABOUT $129.00 AND HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYTHING BACK SINCE. THEY JUST TOOK MY STUFF THAT I WORKED HARD FOR AND BASICALLY TOLD ME TO SCREW OFF.
