I went to buy green tin decking for a roof at the menards store in Dundas Mn and when u order because of special order u pre-pay.Thats fine but when they tell u 10 days to two weeks thats bull now going on 4 weeks still not here. The homeowners want it done before snow flies they paid for it but wheres it at who knows called the store now five times they say it has not been ship from the distributor yet why not its paid for. They say we will email them and call u back but no phone call great job guys now i get the blame,i get a bad name,my fault, looks great for my business as they sit back and do nothing.I spend alot of money there but i guess we mean noting to them i would have gave the business to the local and forgot the BIG MENARDS OWNERS WHO ARE OUT RACING STICKING OUR MONEY INTO THE CAR AND ENJOYING THE LIFE.For the people who work there if it was me i would be fired but they stay and lie to the people tell them whatever to cover there ass.If its gonna be like this tell us so we can go to lowes, home depot, and maybe fleet farm who care about us maybe they can deliver the material on time and still race without screwing us.Oh by the way why dont this go to the headquaters do u know its true and u people cant handle the facts or you just plain know you failed. by the way if your distributors are that bad why dont you use a different distributor and be honest.

My wife and I have been loyal Menards customers for years, and we have spent untold thousands of dollars and everything from lumber to Christmas decorations. Last year, we purchased materials to put up a PVC fence to go around our back yard. It took 54 panels and the necessary posts, two gates, etc. The fence looked decent (at first), and the only problems are ones I caused myself. Until this year. About a month and a half ago, we noticed that our tan fence had some white spots here and there, but thought it might just need washing. No such luck. A couple weeks ago, it was up to 38 of the panels had white streaks or had mostly turned white. I talked to someone I know in the plastics industry, and he told me most likely the manufacturer did not put in the UV stabilizer. Went to Menards here in Elkhart, IN. They told me it was a manufacturer's problem, and gave me the form to send to corporate to register a complaint. Today I finally got a call from the manufacturer...they would replace the panels that changed color, but I had to pay the freight ($600+!) Also, they said I had to do all the labor all over again, they did not pay for installation. They did confirm that the UV stabilizer was the problem, so this is all their fault! And on top of that, I checked the phone number they called from, and guess what, they are in Manitoba Canada. So here I spent two weeks installing posts and the fence all for nothing, because according to them, I am going to have to do it all over again (at least the panels). Decided I am going to head on over to the Menards I bought this at and tell them I want to return everything and want all my money back. Then I will go get a better fence with the money elsewhere. I will post a follow up to let you know how that goes. Anyone care to guess how that visit is going to go?

We received an ad for 22 % off chandeliers at Menards. We went to our local store and found a great chandelier we had looked at months ago and was still available. It was discontinued and reduced and at another 22 % off seemed a great deal. We were initially told everything was a go and then the light did not come up on the computer which was not unusual given it was a discontinued item and the last one. We were told it was not included in the sale even though the sale flier had no exclusion language. When we asked to speak to the manager he refused to come to the lighting department not once but twice twice. What gives? It is hard to imagine that a store would rather look at an item that has not sold for months than move it. More puzzling is the fact that the manager refused to even meet with us. Menards must be doing a lot better than most stores if it can afford such a cavalier attitude or perhaps this particular manager is family. Not happy with this treatment.

I will no longer do any business at Menards. I usally spend three hundred dollars a month at Blaine Minn. store. The design of their cart corals are very bad! They go down hill and there is nothing on the bootom to keep the carts from blowing out! Three carts blew out and hit my truck and did 700.00 dollars worth of damage and Menards or their insurance company will not stand back of it and I think that stinks! Shame on you Menards! Fleet Farm will love to have my business.

Dear Sir, My wife and I have been faithful customer for at least 15 years. My experience today makes our future as a customer very doubtful. Recently I bought a can of spray paint at the Elgin store. I picked up a can of Rustolium black spray paint. A few days later when I went to use it I noticed on the BLACK top there was a sticker that said green. Today while I was off work I was tacking care of a number of things most of which were not going well. While I realized that none of this was your problem all I wanted to do was exchange a can of poorly labeled green spray paint for a can of black spray paint. I explained this to then customer service person, who said to go get the right can of paint. I did but I din't have my receipt. The customer service person asked me how I had paid. When I said I had paid by check she said that I had to go to the terminals behind me and put in my checking account number. I was already having a bad day and I decided that I wasn't going to do it. I am 65 years old and I don't feel like playing stupid games. I gave her a credit card and paid for the 2nd can of paint. Later I called the store and talked to the store manager, who mumbled something about whether the first can was on sale. DUH! This was supposed to be an even exchange. I am not sure what I will do with the $4.00 can lf spray paint. Since I don't have any use for green spray paint I'll probably throw it away just like Menards has thrown away a faithful long time customer. By the way A Super WalMart is scheduled to open across the street, there is a Home Depot a little further away and the is a Target store and a Super Target store nearby Regards. James

Menards is a joke......and it starts at the corporate offices. All I wanted to do was to special order a snow blower that was a different model than the one in the stores.....same brand. I was told they couldn't order any other models. That is BS. If a company carries a full product line, they can order different models. I will plan on going to Home Depot, where they will order the correct one.

We purchased our refrigerator and 18 days later it was $200 cheaper. When asking to get a credit I was denied, saying that they do not honor that policy due to it was a discontinued reason, not regular sales circumstance. So when hearing that it was being discontinued and not being informed at purchase that this unit was planning to be discontinued, we wished to return it and then was told we could not do that either. When questioning their policy, stated that if they offer this for every item that discontinued they would not be able to open their doors. Really it would bankrupt them. So if you are looking at buying an appliance, go to Home Depot. I have bought many from there and never had this issue with them. First and Last appliance I will ever buy at Menards. Dear Menards, you might of saved $200 from credit me, but it will cost you more in the long run.

The number posted here for Menards, Inc Corporate complaints is a FAX number and not a regular phone number. I suspect with all the complaints posted here against Menards, its no wonder. I will never shop at Menards again. With the economy in the state it is in, I would have thought that Menards would strive to satisfy customers, not turn them off. I guess not. This will be another store chain that will finally close its doors. Lost revenue, Lost Jobs.

I purchased items at Menard's of Plover, Wisconsin that were free after rebate and sent them in a timely manner. I am used to Rebates International screwing up so I document EVERYTHING and don't use any of the items until I receive the rebate. After eight weeks I contacted Rebates International wondering where my rebate check was. One week later, they told me they had no record of it and I should email them documentation". I scanned in copies of my receipts and copied rebate receipts and emailed them back,. One week later I received a reply that said they would not honor the rebate because the items were returned to the store|. I printed out their email and placed it on my work bench with the unused, unopened items next to the email, took a picture and emailed it back to them,. The message suggested that if an employee of Menard's returned the items they should dismiss them and prosecute them because the items obviously were NOT returned! At this point they seem to have decided ignoring a problem they created is the best policy. I have decided it is time to press the matter until the problem is corrected one way or another. What is Menard's going to do to correct this situation? Randy Bradley

We recently ordered $1400 worth of lumber at our local Menards in Terre Haute,IN, we paid a $65 delivery fee and my husband gave them specific instructions where to put the lumber when it was delivered. The driver arrived and suppositivly got confused about where to put the lumber. Now we have 13 acres and a lot of room around our house. So instead of picking a spot he returned to the store. They did call our house phone left a message and called my husbands cell phone and left a message stating that since they were unable to delivery we would be charged a second delivery fee to get it delivered again. My huband was hot, we borrowed a trailor from a friend and he went to the store the next day. They refused to refund the delivery fee even though it was not our fault the order was not delivered. We are beggining the process of building a new house and we will not be getting our materials from Menards, in fact my husband is going to let everyone he knows about the poor customer service we recieved.

I bought a Excell pressure washer from a Menards in the Minneapolis area, since I was visiting my mom. I bought this pressure washer on 8.22.11 (9.26.11 - date of final failure). I used the pressure washer just five times. One wheel fell off in the garage (first time using it) – no bolt was found, which should have been found. The Pulse Hose, IC2 blew a leak, because it was rubbing against the Cover Pump, Bottom – IC2 (poor design – the designer should have made sure that this would not happen). Coupler, Shaft Bearing ring on the inside of the wheel popped out. Finally, after the first use, it has been hard to start. I wanted to give the product another shot by exchanging it at Mendards located in Hutchinson, MN (closer to my home), but they would not - Menards policy. Well, according to other postings (Amazon), a different Menards did an upgrade for a guy who had problems with the same pressure washer. Nothing was offered me, but that I can go to one of the service centers, which the gal at the desk (most likely a manager, because the cashier brought her over) could not tell me where a service center is located. What the hey! MENARDS has lost my business for life! You can count me in on telling everyone I know, and they know, and so on to not buy from Menards. LOWES here I come! I go on the net and find complaints about this pressure washer. Some complained about some of the things I have experienced: How hard it is to start and a wheel falling off. One that I have not experienced was where one experienced the engine blowing up. C Ya!

Sounds like stupid guests to me. If you all would just stop, think, and listen, you would leave with the right product at the right price. 95% of the time, it is your own fault. We are human too and we do make mistakes. It is also your job, as the consumer, to make sure you are getting the product you want. Another thing, you do not know best! Get the whole "The customer is always right" quote out of your mind, because you are wrong! People, for real, you get fired. Shit happens, grow up and find another job. If you are half as upset about it as the things you say, then the job was not worth your time. Another thing, you complain about the employee attitudes, think about yours when you ask STUPID questions. EXAMPLE: "Where is plumbing?" answer: "Take two seconds and look.....it is right freaking in front of you!". Also, your stupid comments and sayings at the checkouts are NOT FUNNY! So if you are wondering why your cashier is "rude" to you? Don't be the dick that says "are you open?" when they are standing at the end of the lane...."nope, I just thought I would stand here for my own personal enjoyment." Yea, right. So get your heads out of your butts and remember, we are people just like you. We get frustrated, moody, and annoyed by you.

I live in Cheyenne, Wyoming. We hope you will still consider building a Menards here in Cheyenne even though our city council has turn down selling you land on the busiest street in Cheyenne. Granite Peak Development Inc is building roadside businesses next to I-25 close to I-80. You have worked with them in Casper, Wyoming. We need to have more businesses in this area of Cheyenne. Thank you for considering Cheyenne for such a high quality establishment.

I bought a small can of paint from Menards and continued on to my next destination. When I arrived at my destination I went to remove the bag from my seat and move it to the floor. When I picked it up I noticed there was paint all inside the bag. I quickly grabbed another bag i had in the car and double bagged the paint mess. There was a lot of paint spilled inside the bag. I immediately high-tailed it back to Menards. I was very afraid paint was going to get all over the cloth interior of my car or on my very nice outfit. When I got inside I went straight up to the desk put the bag on the desk and said "This is a problem" I understood Kirby waiting on the customer, that was before me. However when he did come over to wait on me he clearly did not know how to respond to the situation at hand. So he sought help in the matter. Their solution was just go back and get another one. I balked at the response. So then they talked to the Mgr and it was decided they could offer me a 10% discount. What an insult 10%! $1.70! Gas, time, inconvenience holding the bag up in the air while driving in traffic and watching the bag to make sure it didn't start leaking.I tried to help them understand the inconvenience of it happening, they were fortunate it didn't spill all over the passenger seat and floorboard. They even had the audacity to ask did i open it, or was it open when i was still in the store. I told them had I known that it was open while I still in the store I would have done something about it then! Not once did anyone seem concerned for my inconvenience! Not once did anyone even say I am so sorry that happened. THAT would have helped tremendously. Guess i should be thankful I could have had it spill all over the bed of my truck and only get reimbursed for $50 of the $80 like one of the previous complaints. I concur with all those before in the frustration felt when dealing with their customer service. This is not the first time I have left Menards frustrated by their front desk help. Lowes is about 13 minutes away but they may become new store! And as a consumer i will do my part to let others know of my experience. Charlie P. Mgr., Rachel S front office help, and Kris B. floor help.

I've noticed within this past year or so something strange and i'm sure others will and can relate. It seems that the receipts that they give you at the store for purchased items has "disappearing ink". I fold the receipt up to store for tax purpose and etc and it never feels after a short period of time the ink totally vanishes and so i would hate to think this is a tactic of theirs in trying to be clever so people can make returns. I never have this problem with Home depot receipts, i'm looking for some answers still!

I'm sorry, but some of these stories on here make me laugh. Like the woman who seems to think that rebates should be illegal and contacted the "attorney general" really? Bahaha. Or people who are furious that they can not return old used products. Come on now. How can you say Menards is ripping you off when you want to return garbage? I think half of the problem is crazy customers. Another good one was the person who wanted to return an empty bag of rocks because they did not like how the rocks looked in the garden and where too lazy to pull the rocks back out. And yet that person was shocked that they could not get a refund on an empty bag. LOL seriously? There's also the story where the couple demanded a new package of light bulbs because their child had destroyed their package. How is that the store's fault that YOUR child broke your lights? Let's not be ridiculous here. If your child breaks something you have to pay for it. And I love how almost every story ends with "well, I spend hundreds there..." blah blah blah. Apparently everyone spends "hundreds" there. So if you spend a lot of money you should be an exception to the rule? Hahaha. Now granted there are some stories on here that are unfortunate such as a door being ordered wrong and Menards not replacing it. So there are some on here that have actual serious complaints. But for the most part most of these stories seem to be people who just want to complain. So for this I thank you for providing me with a few hours of entertainment! And judging by your stories I will never have to run into you at Menards. Yay!

Hello i was in the crystal lake location the other day and i left so pissed off because there is very poor customer service!! I first approached the front desk where i stood there waiting for someone to help me and the manager April was sitting at her locker eating food as i tried to get her attention. Then Ginger another manager stepped up to help me and she was very pleasant. I had some issues that apparently only the Store Manager Tim St. Louis could solve and he was very cold and not helpful at all! He completely brushed my situation off as if it bothered him that i had something to ask him and then he walked away from me as i was still talking to him only to yell at one of his employees as if they were his slave!!!! I'm very disturbed with Tim St. Louis and apparently hes going on a firing spree because all of the former good employees are fired and only immature high school kids work there now.

i was having a patio door delivered to my home on a weekday and had specified to the delivery coordinator that they would need to send two people as the only person available to help was my wife who would have my two year old and 10 week old babies occupying her. of course they sent one person and my wife had to abandon our two small children and come out in her bath robe to help get the patio door unloaded without it getting broken. i have contacted Menards about 5 times in the last week looking to get my $40 refunded for the delivery charge. i have called and was told i would have my call returned by the store manager...nothing. i have emailed the GM.....nothing. absolutely no feedback what so ever in a week. i can not tell you how mad this makes me. pretty lousy way to run a business considering that they have pretty good competition in Lowes and Home depot. i have spent thousands of dollars at this Menards store in Maple Grove MN in the past year. from now on i will be spending my thousands of dollars some place else.

I have been told veterans are supposed to get a discount. Every time I go to your store I wear my Navy cap, but no one has ever offered me a veteran discount why?

I was at the west burlinton Iowa store yesturday and bought a tool chest.after traveling two hours I finally got to open the box and was going to get this tool chest mounted in my race car trailer. but at some point the box had been dropped from a shelve or some where pretty high because the damage was very bad.I work a full time job and try to run a small bussiness after work and on weekend so It's going to cost me quite a bit to get this mess straighten out. this marks the third time in as maney trips to menards that the product has been less than ok.I spend thousands $ with menards and now I think it's come time to look else where for my supply needs.
