I am miss hall contrater I went in to the kokomo Menard because of the water heat conneckter broke so the sale Rep said you keep record up to 4 years. Well I went up Teresa to get the parts well the mange wouldn't look it up because I didn't have miss hall cerited card. Well miss hall is going to put a new room on And I will not be doing to menards for the life's I all be going to Lowes and its going to cast 7000 .. because I had to pay for the parts that cost 18dollers that was under worinty you not be getting my business any more I will be letting all my contarter friend to to go to menards ;)I will be going to lowes ... and also I will be putting it on face book to let every one know o ya be for I get have a nice day

What a bunch of over zealous, egotistical floor managers. A family member was to visit a grieving relative over the holidays and was told that he would be fired. He was also told that it was "policy" and that he could re-apply (bs paperwork). When re-applying he was told he should have thought twice about the trip he took and that it was a "life lesson" to make choices. Screw them to teach any kind of "life lesson"....what about compassion to an employees whose family is going through a tough time. Boycott Menards...fat pig managers should learn their own "life lessons"....like order a salad sometime.

I worked for the distribution center in plano, illinois. Let me tell you, that by far was the worst job I had ever had in my life. The managers and supervisors treated the employees like crap, they only gave us 10 cent raises every 6 months and the merchandise that we shipped to the diffrent locations were almost always damaged. The company was soo cheap that when it would snow,, they wouldnt put salt down on the parking lot...they used sand! I was injured by another person that was on his forklift and not paying attention to where he was going. When I went to my supervisor and told them what happened, they looked at me crazy because i had to go to the hospital to get my foot checked out. There only concern was the fact that If i went to the hospital, they would loose the precious safety hours...not me the employee that was hurt by another careless person.All in all, If anyone is looking to work at either the store or one of their distribution centers...DON'T!! THEY ARE A-HOLES.

I am a large contractor in the Fort Dodge area. One of my guys was going into the Fort Dodge store an we always look for a employee who has been with Menards for a long time, 6-7 years. She is one of few people who knows were about everything is at. I have seen her pick up concrete bricks an shes maybe 110 lbs., almost a full pallet an place on a cart for a customer. I've asked some of the kids there to do it an they start to wimper, the wooses. I have been in there at times an seen the store manager give her a hard time, in front of me an other customer, how bad is that, an when it was something simple, which he could have just asked her nice. Well this week I was to take in a house plan for $400K and in a month 1 worth $740K. Now that she was FIRED, I heard the her boss had went thur her stuff an a pair of gloves that she had used, since Menards does not supply for the employees, to help a customer, since were're first, an she had to purchase on break time, no shopping durning work time, he siad he was firing her for stealing, WHAT THE FUCK, I thought you had to leave the store before it was stealing. So, now it's purchase at other places in Fort Dodge an LOwes in Ames, IA. on HWY30. Untill the LOWES in Fort Dodge is built. They have people transfering to Fort Dodge as of now for it. THey have the land nows it's just gettin the permits soon. Next time you go to Menards, ask for the store manager, and ask for ASHLEY J. to help you. Lowes will hire her in a second...

Went to Menards in Defiance Ohio, after my husband and I finished shopping I told him while you wait in line I'm going to use the restroom. BIG MISTAKE, it was filthy, 1st stall I entered had poop all over the toilet, 2nd one had blood all over the toilet 3rd was stuffed full of toilet paper and finally the 4th I could use. When I got back out my husband was checking out and I quietly told the cashier "Your restooms need some attention they are really filthy." Her comment was " I know ,I don't understand why nothings being done" Duh, no brainer if everyone responds and cares like her. Makes you really want to shop at Menards.

I think menards is great. but i also realize that most people don't grow up dreaming of working at menards their entire life. I understand that most of them are working their while they attend college. With that being said, some of them don't know the answers to all the questions, they know the answers to the basic questions, which is fine because nine times out of ten if they don't know they can find their manager who does know. also i find it in credibly horrible that veterans worry about their discount so much. it was a nice way to say thanks, but now veterans expect it. its disgusting to hear that someone is going to quit shopping somewhere because they won't save 10 percent on their purchase.

I've had some of the words ex I feel like that I've been treated unfairly on several occasions unfairly on several occasions it seems because I am black I am treated as a second class citizen I've spent in excess of 30,000 dollars building my new house yes when I go to the service counter they will not give me serviceperiences shopping at menards is my endeavor to videotape these experiences and contact my attorney I would've never thought that in 2011 in 2012 I would have to deal with such prejudice in the city of jackson michigan and want a nice to know that this will be passed on the each person that I know steaming mad at john s walker

I can understand how many feel that posting only negative comments must mean that those that do are only whiners and the problem with the country. I've been serving in the Army for over 16 years now, so I can honestly say that I'm not the problem in this case. What about those of us who had a good relationship with Menards and their products only to find that when something bad does happen that Menards is unwilling to help? I recently had a refrigerator installed and the installer (hired by Menards) caused $13,000 worth of damage to my hardwood floors and refuses to awknowledge it. I'm an educated woman who went through their proper channels of addressing the issue in a very politically correct and polite manner. I've given them a very reasonable amount of time to help me. I've never yelled at anyone or acted like a child, but now I'm just pissed. I may have to sue for damages and that's not the type of person I am in this insanely litiguous country we live in. I believe that if they trully cared for their customers and their products they'd at least awknowledge my existence and the issue at hand. Shameful.

Been shopping at Menards for 11 years fixing up my house. Today I was set up by security. I am handicap and with hand that was repaired surgically and wrapped up. Walked out and security stopped me at my car. Pointed at an item in my cart, telling me it wasn't paid for & to come back into the store. Went back in and was put in security an they did not look at my receipt, just took the item out of the cart told me give my ID and to sign paper work that Menards is Demand restitution $150. with in 14 days or pay for court charges plus $500. I explain it was a not intentional and mistake I thought she did her job. They never explained what was going on. I ask if I was being charge for something, they said no. Excused me of over stuffing my cart. I am handicap with a hand surgically repaired can only use one hand. Was I to unload my cart for the girl? I don't understand it was a scraper cost $1.00. Didn't give me any options just accused me of silly things. I didn't steal it was in my cart for purchase. I just spent $100. I didn't know she didn't charge me. Checking out girl did not scan all items in my cart now I am accused of stealing. Menards manger was unwilling to here my side. Menards is money grubbing corporation that cares less about the customer who keep it in business. No stars for Menards loss of customer to homedepot.

I returned a christmas present to Menards, and because i didnt havethe receipt they store stated that they where going to keep my item and give me a piece a paper , no no.Thats not what you store policy says? they told me to call corporate the next day and they would be able to process the return. I told them i want to with draw from the returnand they told me they were un able to because thye already already started. Doesnt make since to me, But I want my merchandise credit like there policy says you will receive or my merchandise, I always called the corporate number that the store provided and its not a working number?what is up with these people? after this i will never shop at Menards

Just got a picture sent to me from a buddy that unfortunately still works for Menards. The picture breaks down the hours for New Years Eve. I have no problem with the lousy hours. What I do have a problem with is the fact that it litteraly says on the sign " So our guests and team members can enjoy the holiday with family". Well if you take a closer look, the hours on the sign are their regular hours. Look Menards has the right to be open for whatever hours you choose. However, please treat your people like they're not brain dead. So glad I don't work there anymore , best decision I ever made.

I called the Crestwood in Illinois store I let the phone ring until somebody answered it HA HA HA it rang so long I finally got a busy signal, the phone rang for over a minute and a half Never spoke to anyone in the store As far as merchandise I have noticed Quality has gone to nothing, I once wanted a key made just to open my door of the car, The employee refused to cut a blank because I have a chip in my key I Informed him it was for a valet only to use if I lock the door with the keys in it as I had done one time He still told me NO I walked out and some hardware store made the money I was going to spend My opinion Menards stinks

I have placed a note on this page ...telling how the Menard corporation works....it was all the truth...but Web Master decided to eliminate my short note ......in order to prevent ....what..........hart less and dirty work has been done to me they took 18 years of my life until I get sick and was not able to do the job myself I have hired people to work for me .....it was not good ....they just needed to get rid of me......now when I'm unable to even find any work.......on edge of loosing roof over my head ...been almost homeless.....is how all the big corporations are taking care of people who were dedicated.......and give the more than 100% of ability to do the best... Thanks a lot ........there is nothing else I like to ask......just be alive ..and klapp my hands how the engine works

Menards sells absolute junk. I swear the garbage they import from China is rejected by QC and that is saying a lot considering China does not even have QC. Also I agree with Jim I wish I could give a rating of zero stars.

I have been working at Menard store as a independent contractor taking care of their floors ......in November 2011 was time to extend the contract for another year. In September I had a serious surgery (I'm lucky my leg didn't get amputated).....After I took care of the service for 18 years I was let go with explanation....."WE NEED A CHANGE" the store manger has the right to terminate contract..............but after 18 years of my very hard work ...at time when I can't walk not thinking work, they just thrown me out like an old used rug........just before Christmas.... I can't beleive this. Totally unbelievable. This is what is wrong now with America. So many spoiled brats wanting everything their way. I hope you all come to my store so I can have the pleasure of asking you to take your business elswhere.Cabinets were damaged? They sell Junk? I guess the mfgr and the trucks are Memards fualt too. They sell junk? Did you buy the cheapest thing you could? My expiereince with Menards has ALWAYS been postive. Yes,there have been a couple little scrapes that come with any purchases, but that is over LOTS of purchases.AND their people are better trained than any other of the big ones.As a contrator, I can ask for "landing tread" and they know what I mean. Try THAT at Lowes, Home Depot. So many people thinking THEIR troubles are someone els's fault.What a disgrace- and a poor showing of the leadership and responibilty this coutry was built on Go Menards!

I totally agree that they should bring back the military discount. I was pissed to find out that they all of a sudden stopped giving discounts to military. The employees get a discount. I ask wherever I go if they give military discount and even if they don't They will give me their discount. Not menards but other establishments. If you ask menards they just tell you no and that's it. Plus the products are junk. I would rather spend the extra money and get something that lasts. I would shop there more if they gave a discount to military again and if they dumped some of their cheap products and researched and gave us better qaulity.the last thing I want to do is to have to stop in the middle of my project in order to go back to menards to exchange the broken defective tool that I just bought that day. Oh and they need to have a better selection of they same item. They only carry one brand for some items so then your stuck with choosing between a cheap item or an item that is slightly better junk then the other. I go in to menards only if I have too. And that I go in knowing I'm going to have to buy two of the same items so if one breaks I don't have to go back to finish my project. If they are worried about loosing money they should be cause when you piss off a customer or by not giving a discount or by selling cheap crap you are loosing money. You would make a lot more if you would give the military discount by because a lot of people are in the military and you would get them in your store and they would buy not just the stuff they need but more then they came in for.

We bought a rug for my mother-in-law and the sticker on the rug said it was a 12x16 which would have been wall to wall for her.My wife was back at her mothers getting everything out of the room so me and son could immediently lay it down. We went to Menards and picked it up and took it to mother-in-law(who by the way was a 100 mile round trip.We had to carry it up a flight of stairs. We rolled it out and had a shock. It was not what we had paid for.It was only a 10x12.After all this time and frustration and hard work on my wife's part( she is slightly handicapped) we were very upset with Menards. We are hoping to get at least some of our money back.It is too much trouble and work for us to take it back. Myself and wife are over 65. I expect Menards to do the right thing and refund money. I dont understand why they marked it the wrong size. I will never buy a rug from them again.We took pictures of the rug and saved the ticket from the rug too as proof. Time will tell if they make it right.
