I want chocolate cookies! Meijer sold chocolate cookies last winter, 2009, called double or triple chocolate cookies and they were good but they only had them for a few months. Meijer recently, fall 2010, sold a chocolate cookie called Ultmate Rocky Road Cookies (a very good cookie) but now they too have gone away. Meijer carrys many different kinds of blond cookies they even call some of them chocolate chip cookies but they are not chocolate cookies. Why does Meijer not carry a chocolate cookie year around when they carry so many different kinds of non chocolate cookies. I shall only shop at Meijer during the times that they carry chocolate cookies, yes I will tie my shopping at Meijer, for anything, to them carrying chocolate cookies.
I was in the Traverse City store Friday after Thanksgiving with my 48year old daughter and son-in-law buying $90. worth of groceries. When the clerk came to three gift boxes of liquor, she picked one up, held it to her and said, "I can't sell you this today". I was shocked and reminded her it was Friday afternoon, not Sunday morning. She repeated her statment and nothing more; I asked was it on her religous priciples, she repeated her statement. I asked her to get me a clerk who could sell it to me. Another employee came over (at this point, people were beginning to stop and stare)GRABBED it and said, "NO, if one clerk declines, YOU can't buy it !!" Again, I quietly asked, 'why not'. She said "WE DON'T HAVE TO TELL YOU. IT'S THE LAW !!" My daughter asked if she could buy it. The answer was "NO! You can't BUY it !!" I was totally humiliated, began to exit and ran into a young man who got me a manager to whom I explained everything (never once raised my voice). She took the clerk's name and sold me the liquor. I am 70 years old, not a teenager, I was not drunk or slurring my words. I was well dressed and groomed as was my daughter and son-in-law. I should think with all the legal problems Meijer has on their plate that at least their employees would be better trained. As stated, I am 70 and can honestly say I have never been so humiliated and now know what my friends mean when they say they don't go there because the people were so rude. I shall now follow them to the stores the frequent.
My daughter was shopping at the Meijer store located on Grape Road in Mishawaka, Indiana with her two children ages five and four. She is diabetic and fell on her face because her blood sugars were so low. The store personal came to see what was wrong and while her five year old daughter explained she is diabetic and needs to eat sugar. They responed quickly and with professional care taking care of not only her but also the children. If they had responded in any other way she may have gone into a coma, and the children may have been very worried about their mother. Thank you for you fast reaction and care in making sure the children were safe and not afraid, and my daughter was taken care of. Everything they did was the best way to handle what had happened.Professional and caring THANK YOU ALL.

I was at your Bolingbrook Illinois store tonight getting last minutes food orders for my Thanksgiving meal. I talked to the manager about restocking items I had intended to purchase. He was too busy conversing with his store personnel. I told my husband that I left my coupons in the car and went out to bring them in. I saw the same store manager getting into a car in the backlot. Also, I saw him snorting a tube of unknown origin. I continued watching this until he got out of the car and walked back inside. Just before he got in I went over and asked him about the restocking. He had white residue under his nose and he wiped it off and sneezed a few times. He was jumpy and couldn't carry a normal conversation. Is this the kind of image that Meijer projects. A cokehead that leads a grocery store staff? Good Lord.....I went to the local police station and told them what I saw. They conveyed they would look into the charges. Want some advise? Get rid of him quickly before something bad happens. For the time being I'll reserve judgment and shop at another local store. That's it.
My son applied for a job at the Meijer warehouse only to find out that because he made a bad choice as a kid and stole from a Meijer store that he can never work for Meijer. Just about every child in the world does something stupid due to peer pressure or just plain dumb choices but they should not be punished for it for the rest of their lives. This really bothers me and I know that I have spent alot of money in your stores but I will no longer shop at any Meijer store. I have also talked this over with my very large extended family and they will no long shop at any of your stores. I have over 200 friends on facebook and I will ask them NOT to shop at any of your stores. We will boycott this until you take a look at your stupid policy. Kids will be kids, they do grow up and hopefully make better decisions. My son has 2 children and no job due to the economy. Know that the economy is bad you choose to punish people for something that they did as a child. How sad you people are and I hope that your stores lose A LOT of business due to this practice.
My father recently pooped his pants at our local Meijer store. The staff was very helpful in assisting my father with a change of clothes, and one employee even helped wipe him clean. Now that is amazing customer service! I can not express how grateful I am to know he is in such good hands when he is at Meijer. Thanks again.
I worked at the Mishawaka, In Meijer store for nearly six years. They do not treat their employees fair. There was a power outage at our store and I was the only person concerned about the cold cases keeping temperature (you would think a multi-million dollar building would have their coolers hooked up to the back up generator). The Blankets used to cover the coolers weighed nearly 80 pounds each so needless to say I was exhausted. I asked if I could get a drink of water and was told to get back to work. Later that night after clocking out for the day I fainted in my car and was taken to the hospital by a friend. I was given an I.V. at the hospital because I was dehydrated. The next day was extremely busy and we were understaffed. After taking my luck the head manager came up to me and my co-worker and told us we were not allowed to take anymore breaks or anything for the night. Considering it is against federal law to do so I objected and got into an argument about it with the store director Rob Benedum. After arguing for about a half an hour I was told to "shut the f*ck up, get out, and that I was suspended". During the argument I told the store director about the previous night and that we needed our breaks. He said no and I said that "I can't keep doing this sh*t". I was on suspension from 7/02 until 7/29. When I finally heard from the store director he told me that I was fired for language and banned me from the property, my guess was to prevent me from getting statements from my co-workers as evidence. I was a model employee and won employee of the month six times over the course of a year and a half. Considering there are nearly 450 employees at that store I am proud of my achievement.
I am not dissatisfied with the store per ce, but with the run-around I've experienced trying to solve a problem with a purchase. I was given a TV for a Christmas present (I know--NICE GIFT, right?). The problem is that we've had trouble with the screen, and because we can't find the ORIGIONAL receipt, the TV company SYLVANIA will NOT address the problem. Meijers only allows 30 days for electronics returns, and Sylvania will only honor an itemized receipt. We have tried for FOUR MONTHS to get a reprint of the itemized receipt from Meijer. We did finally get a receipt, but it was NOT the Itemized receipt that is needed for Sylvania to honor. Now, it is past one year on the date code on the back of the TV and with no Itemized receipt from Meijer, Sylvania will NOT repair the TV. This should have been simple to solve, but right now it is a NIGHTMARE of runarounds from two companies that don't seem to care that they have a very dissatisfied customer.
Patty- I am in complete agreement with their poor service as we are experiencing a very similar issue... I ordered a knight costume for my son on the 8th of October- when it arrived on the 15th they had sent an adult Elvira costume instead. When I called I was told they were really sorry about their mistake and someone would contact me within 72 hours. I waited and when no one called I called again and was told my issue had been elevated to the highest status and that they would take care of getting my son's costume to me overnight.... I had to call again and again to be told now the people that said they would take care of it had no clue- they are sending an RMA- weeks to get money back and I have to reorder the costume.....beyond frustrated with their lack of customer service. On top of it have left several messages for the supervisor who also can't bother to call back.
I received my web order yesterday - a Halloween costume. It was suppose to be a white cleopatra type costume. Instead their vendor sent black. So I called assuming this would be a simple switch since Meijer does not offer it in black and was not my mistake, just to find out they want to punish me! Not only do I have to wait for their pre-paid return label (a few days) I will have to wait atleast 2wks for the warehouse to process my return to receive a refund and they will not send the correct costume!!!! So with one week left to Halloween I am out of a costume out of the money it cost $50 and offered no help with rude customer service phone people who came up with every excuse not to get me a supervisor!!!!! This will be my lasst time using Meijer unless they fix this ASAP!
the only reason I gave them 1 star is because there is no option to give them no stars da davidson store is so poorly drawn I wouldn't go in there to buy dog food every time I go in that store the manager is yelling at somebody and it is not the right way to run a store I have been threatened by an employee at that store that if I go into that store she would slash my tires she is a drug addict and the leader of a click in that store trying to get anyone she does not like fired I advise anybody that thinks of shopping where to not I have went to corporate offices with this and they don't seem to do anything about it so in my opinion the davison meyer is an awful store to shop at
the stone creek meijers use to carry mackinac island fudge ice cream.. under meijer gold was gone for a bit came back as deans icecream now only place i can get it is in lima ohio, rossford ohio or sandusky ohio, in mi it's under hudsonville as well as deans
Meijer is not customer service friendly, I am gradually pulling away from shopping at meijer, they are out of the sale items the day the sale starts they do not limit quantity of items one buys but limits you to how much you get on a rain check. They are out of sale items till a day or two after the sale, Guess what Meijer, I have found two other stores that are never out of their sale items, and I can buy as much as I like and not have to get a rain check. So I will bid you farewell since your customers do not mean a thing to you, just their money.
In Mansfield Ohio there is a Meijers store who has a red headed woman who is manager in the meat department. Many times she has been very rude to her coworkers and has even got in loud verbal arguments with them. Customers do not want to hear this stuff. Couldn't she be more professional?
I live in Ohio and have shopped at my local Meijer since the opening of the store. Over the years my wife and i have spent thousands of dollars at this one location i am sure. Today we went to the store as usual, filled our cart and placed a large bag of dog food on the bottom of the cart. We went to checkout, took all items out of the cart, including dog food. At this time the cashier got a phone call. She was asked if we had taken the dog food from the cart. With a suprised look on her face she told the caller yes i have rung it up. It became clear to my wife and i that we were being looked at as thieves. We contacted the store manager, with no apoligies he informed us he had no idea how this happened. My wife being a bit upset was then told by the manager not to be rude to him, which she wasn't. He then proceded to follow us to the exit, still treating us as thieves. Hope someone in Meijer upper management gets this message because you lost a $300.00 to $400.00 a month cutomer.
Yesterday, my 83 year old mother locked her keys in her car while shopping at the Meijer in Belleville, MI. She had $50 worth of groceries in her cart and went in to ask Customer Service if they could call the police dept for her. Their comment was "We don't do that". She asked well what can I do? They said they can't help. She again asked if the could call her a taxi. Their comment was again "we don't do that". She was frantic and walked up to two gentlemen that looked like Managers in suits and asked them if they could ask customer service or security to call the police or help her. They said "we don't do that" and there is no security. This is the way they handle and help their customers. They tossed a phone book at her finally and told her to call. She can not see the letters in a phone book and finally one employee that helps her cash out on a weekly basis approached her and said I will call the police for you and she did. The police came and were shocked that no one at the customer service would call for her. The police told her that is the police officers job to help people in trouble like that. She was extremely upset and a nervous wreck at the way she was treated and I asked her to go back and report this to the store manager. Thi is no way to treat customers in trouble when it would have took a minute to call for her. I hope that all the seniors in Belleville hear about this when she reports it to the Independent newspaper their. I hope these people or their families are not in this situation some day and have to go this type of treatment.
For one, you people in Michigan are friggin crazy and picky. I dont even what this store is. I just came here by searching for lunchmeat.
JUST SO YOU KNOW!!! Stopping the sale of energy drinks on ebt is causing you to loose alot of customers! I started getting them from there 2 yrs ago and been shopping there sense.. I am disabled and started drinking them for their vitamins and to help me do more then sleep. Today I tried and was informed meijers dont sell the monsters on the ebt card anymore. I shop now at another store that does, but its sad because meijers got me addicted and now they pull this!
I visited a Meijer store once and found that a lot of the new Angus beef had a lot of green on the exterior of the shorn packaging. I started to report this incident to the FDA or Ombudsman for selling contaminated meat., especially since the 2006 record did show , we as American consumers of beef, had not been fully informed about 143 million pounds of beef had passed into the Consumer's plates, this find was in 2009. So for 3 years after discovery, scientist and legislators including Mr. Obama had to rush and regulate so our meat markets, slaughter houses to warn and defend us against what....a communist plot, yea right these cows were on US Soil., so once again the mulled over question....WHERE IS THE BEEF?
