From reservation I experienced so unpleasant with your staff at Schaumburg, IL. She said she was a general manager but was very rude. She didn't know how to communicate with people. It was very surprising a person like her was working in a service field like a hotel. I could tell she was not honest and she raised her voice when I complained. My worst experience with a hotel.

Stayed July 28th, 2012 at Courtyards Marriott, Wallingford, CT -first the plus-staff member Erica was pleasant and helpful associate. When we checked in we were given our room key so we had to go around to the side of the building, as I was walking up the sidewalk a "rat" was walking up with me. It was obvious he was used to being around the area because he kept walking as I was startled, "grossed out" I took photos of him in the entrance way. I quietly walked to the front desk and asked for the manager-showed her the pictures and she said, "she had never seen it before" followed by there is a drainage pipe around the back and they tend to come from there. First you if you have never had a report of it, how would you know where it came from. The only she she offered was to call the exterminator-I pushed the subject and she offered 20.00 of the room, I would have left immediately but we were riding a motorcycle and it we were in the middle of a massive rain storm. The next morning while looking out the balcony there was the "rats" again...took more photos but no one seemed to care. Others that were leaving saw it at this time too, and couldn't believe there eyes... POOr, POOR Customer service along with a pathetic apology...

I'm shocked how Marriott has changed. But its the management that they have hired. I started working with Marriott when I was 15. I moved up fast, I was placed into their management program and when I graduated college they transferred me from Chicago to Tampa. I'm now ready to retire and I wanted to work with Marriott part time so I got a job at the Residence Inn in Sarasota, fl. OMG there's employees drinking on the job, employees watching tv in the lounge where guests see this, employees milking the clock and stealing. These 2 managers running the place let the spanish rule this hotel.I believe there are illegals working there as well. I'm a united states citizin born and raised in the U.S.A. I have the right to work here and these managers cater to these spanish people. How can you have employees around guest when you can't even understand or speak English? The breakfast attendant was fired for stealing food and rehired back after she called corporate so they let her do what she wants. While I was working there she still was stealing food and taking long breaks. This has been all addressedto the management and still nothing has been done. guess they dont care about liability if that houseman leaves drunk and gets into an accident.

The Charlotte Marriott City Center in downtown Charlotte should be ashamed of themselves for employing multiple convicts in the sales and events department. One woman has an arrest in Michigan, another has an arrest for DWI and assault on a police officer in Charlotte, and another arrest in Boston. The third person in that same department was recently arrested for several charges and was escorted off the property for an involuntary assessment for her mental state AND THEY ALL STILL WORK THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stayed at this Courtyard 6/2012 NOTHING GOOD to say about the Marriott Courtyard in Beachwood, Ohio. Made my reservations thru Marriott Vacations via phone - 1 King bed Handicap rm w/walk-in shower, 2nd room connecting or next to. This was not a vacation but a family medical emergency and it was just easier using the service. The trip was prepaid (flight, rooms, car rental). Since I needed a handicap room I called the hotel directly to make sure they had what I needed and was assured it was taken care of. Upon arriving, told the room was cancelled, later, General Manager said he just changed my room. I was given a 2 bed handicap room which when using a wheelchair you could barely move around. The bathroom had black mold on the floor tiles and shower curtain and the carpet was wet just outside the bathroom. They also had two ramps leading to the first floor from the lobby level (not handicap friendly). When I complained and asked to be moved "sorry no rooms available". I had 6 days of hell at the Courtyard. After arriving back home and getting my CC bill the Marriott Courtyard again billed me for my prepaid rooms. The General Manager at this facility sent me a condescending e-mail. Even when I spoke to him on the phone all I got was "Sorry you feel that way." Well Marriott "sorry to tell you" I reported you to the Health Dept & the Dept of Justice-ADA. You can't treat people this way and expect them to just accept it. BEWARE OF THIS MARRIOTT COURTYARD.

I recently booked three (3) rooms at the Fairfield Inn/ Marriot, Denver West/Federal Center for a five days, our party was in route to a family wedding in Denver so we made a vacation out of our stay, upon arriving I had booked adjoining room since one member was over 80 years old but the desk told me there were no adjoining room availabel even though I had requested one, upon enter one of the rooms there was no TV and was then informed that this room was a discount room with no TV even though they were chargeing me full rate, the hotel installed a TV. The second days stay the housekeeping failed to clean our room and when I complained to the manager she had to go up to clean the room as service had gone home for the day,for the next three days our room did not get clean untill after 5PM. We were give a small discount from out bill but this was the first time (and last time) that I stayed at a Fairfied by Marriott and our party was very disapointed in our 5 day stay, when ever I travel I use Marriott hotel chains however Hampton Inns is looking better as my travel continue.....sorry Marriott you better make correction as you are looseing customers and it is noticed.

My husband and I were staying in the Fairfeild Marriott in Stillwater,OK and we left one day for our day events and housekeeping comes in to clean our room and throws away my top dentures. They are not suppose to touch your things on top of the table, they didn't the day before. Manager looked in the trash alittle bit and then the next day refuses to look for them so my husband went out in the 100 degree heat and digs until he finds them. This hotel can not be trusted with any belongings.

Very disappointed in service experienced from Resort staff. We stayed in a suite at your resort this past evening to celebrate a birthday along with spending the morning of July 4th on the lazy river in this wonderful weather. Our satisfaction with your resort began to decay after an hour of troubleshooting the room's defective multimedia system, this was acknowledged by the night staff and a movie was offered in response to the electronics not functioning properly. We requested a late checkout and were firmly denied. At 10:30 am 7/04/2012 we left the room to drop off our belongings before we went to the pool. We went back to the room before 10:58 am July 4th, 2012 to get our drinks from the in-room refrigerator after getting ice down the hall. 10:58 is the time we left the room after realizing our belongings were stolen. The room service decided to confiscate our 5/8th full 750ml bottle of Absolute Vodka for their personal benefit between 10:30 am - 10:58 am, and they falsely claimed to the manager on duty, Eric McDonald, that we were smoking in the room and that the room is unsellable and a charge of $250 is placed on our credit card. There was no smoking in this room. Eric McDonald brought us to the room and biasedly explained the room smelt of smoke prior to even entering the room. Eric McDonald then offered a lesser fee of half the cost of the smoking fee after inspecting the room. The room did not smell of smoke and there is no reason for us to be charged the fee. I understand it is the role of an employee to be committed to their institution, but in the industry of hospitality it is also important to respect the patrons that make this establishment possible. My employer had a company meeting at this resort on June 22, 2012 and I am appalled to see the change in level of service between the two occasions. My friend decided to rent a room here for her birthday because of the experience we had the Friday before last. We turned down pillow service before we left the room at 10:30 am. There is no reason for housekeeping to have come into our room prior to us checking out without our authorization, especially when a do not disturb sign is firmly placed on the door handle they use to open the room. Unfortunately this occurrence ruined our plans for today’s holiday accompanied with a bitter outlook for JW Marriott and all subsidiaries along with my favorite Ritz Carlton Resort in Laguna Niguel, California. We will not be considering the Marriott Hotel near the Convention Center in Las Vegas for any future occasions.

DO NOT STAY IN COURTYARD MARRIOTT, COLLEGE PARK GEORGIA. They have no security or video cameras to protect your personal belongings. My truck was stolen off there grounds while i was sleeping. There policy is there not responsible for it, but they require a security deposit for the rooms. What the hell

I planned a trip to Panama City, booked and paid for a hotel on Priceline.com. When I arrived at the hotel TownePlace Suites by Marriott located at 903 E 23rd Place Panama City, FL 32405 the woman at the front desk was new, and in training but had been left alone. I, being unaware of that gave ger my credit card and ID. she swiped my card 3 times for 100.00 ( a total of 300.00) but did not get my approval. When I got to my room I went online to check my balance and saw these additional charges. I immediately called the front desk. The Guest services manager, a woman named sophia, informed me she could not remove the hold for these charges. The woman who was new named Karen. told me she charged my card by accident, but they could not remove them, i needed to contact my bank to do that. Of course today is Saturday and my bank will not be open until Monday morning. so for what I was told would be 106.00 has turned into 426.00 in charges in which only 126.00 were authorized. 20.00 was supposed to be an incidental fee for room service etc.The hotel GM was contacted by phone, her name is Jessica Morito and she did not even offer her apology. I dont understand how they can do this and not be able to fix it. My employer offers a Pre-Paid legal service and I plan to seek legal counsel on this matter.I feel this may be a racially charged incident and I am fully aware of my right under the Consumer Credit Protection Act.

Marriott in the Boston area - CONSTANTLY advertising job postings - yet NEVER hire. Must be some kind of Federal tax break mandate to advertise so many jobs (that don't exist) !! I didn't believe my daughter kept telling me "they tell me I'm "not qualified" - so I made an account and sent in an application for "housekeeping". Made up experience, 8 years working in a local motel, etc... They email back "Not qualified". Seriously? They're a fraud!

5/12/2012 As a “Mother’s Day” gift, my daughter Tiffany made reservations for us to stay at the Marriott Hotel in Terre Haute, IN. Her main objective was to stay somewhere with an indoor pool because, I have chronic rheumatoid arthritis and failed back syndrome, causing great limitations as to what I am capable of doing. She knew relaxing in a swimming pool was not only therapeutic for me but also very relaxing. As soon as we got in the pool, we had to get out. The bottom of the pool was so slick and slimy it was not safe. There were no towels to even dry off. When she went to the front desk to ask if we could get some towels, she was told they couldn’t find housekeeping & they were the only ones able to get towels. So we decided to just go to our room (wet) and hang out & watch movies. We called the front desk to request extra pillows for my back and a blanket. Again we were told housekeeping is the only one who can get pillows and they are not around. The next morning we get up to take a shower and no hot water. After a cold shower we are getting ready so we can go out for a nice brunch and the power goes out. Now we have no way to dry & curl our hair so we can go. We look out the window and all the other businesses have power. An hour and a half later it’s time to check out & still no power. Our room is on the seventh floor! I am handicapped with a walker trying to get part of my luggage and a walker down seven flights of stairs. On the fifth floor stairs we run into two employees with a flashlight and ask, “Please can you help us with our luggage and walker to the first floor.” Only to be told they are not capable of helping anyone at this time because they have to check to see why their power is out. My daughter then asked them, “Please you can see my mother is barely capable of getting herself down seven flights of stairs, if you cannot help can you get someone who can help us?” She was told, “We don’t have time to get anymore help because we have to find out why we don’t have any power.” It took 44 minutes to get down those seven flights of stairs! Furious we went to the front desk to ask to speak to a manager. We waited for about 5 minutes and no one ever showed up at the front desk. We started looking around and found six employees sitting in the breakfast area eating apples & bananas. When we asked to speak to a manager on duty we were told no managers were there at this time. I asked for Marriott’s corporate phone number and address and was told they are not allowed to give out that information. Monday May 14th I call the Marriott Hotel in Terre Haute, IN and ask if the manager is in, and was told yes. I asked if I could speak to the manager and was told to hold on. The employee came back on the phone and said the manager wants to know what I want. After explaining the terrible experience and service we received I was placed on hold again. After twenty minutes I hung up the phone and called back. The same employee answered the phone. I told him I was placed on hold and no one got back with me, and again I needed to speak to the manager. Again, I was placed on hold. After approx. 5 minutes the employee picks back up and tells me the manager say he is getting ready to go out of town so he does not have time to speak to me. I again asked for a Marriott’s corporate phone number and address. And again, I was told they were not allowed to give out that information. I asked the employee, who then is going to address my issues. The employee stated he was sorry but the manager said for him not to forward the call so there was nothing he could do. In all my life, I have never ever received or experienced such poor accommodations and services, than what was given by the Marriott Hotel in Terre Haute, IN. And everyone I know and see will hear about the horrible experience & service. I, my extended family, and friends vow to never stay at Marriott Hotels ever again! Sincerely, Vickie Ransom

My husband will be entering Mayo Hospital in Phoenix AZ for a stem cell transplant. Keep in mind that the Residence Inn by Marriott Phoenix Desert is right next door to the hospital. When I called to get the rates for July (ONE OF THE HOTTEST MONTHS IN AZ) with a Mayo discount, they gave me a price of $99.00 plus tax per night for one person. I hardly believe they can fill this Inn during the month of July. You would think that they could give people who are dealing with the hospital a break. As it turned out, I found another hotel for $52.00 plus tax per night. No, it does not have all the amenities of a Marriott, but all I need is a place to sleep, shower, but most of all a place where I can be close to my husband. He will be in the hospital for two weeks. Just needed to vent. The Residence Inn by Marriott Phoenix Desert should not be so greedy.

A very deserved commendation and thank you to the staff at the Fairfield in Victoria, Tx, for the welcome hospitality and sympathy our large extended family received when making last-minute reservations for the funeral of a dear family member who was unexpectedly and tragically lost. The hotel itself was very comfortable and clean, the service was friendly and very good, and the breakfast was well presented and very ample. But in our grief that weekend, it was the warmth and hospitality extended to us that was especially appreciated. Thank you.

Arrived to check in at teh Fairfield Marriott in Slippery Rock, PA. Young women at the desk was very pleasant. Upon trying to check in it appears, that our reservation that was made in Feb as part of a block was no where to found. (along with 2 other families) The worker then called her assistant manager to come in. Wheh she arrived, her only response was that without a ocnfirmation number there was nothing she could do. I showed her the contract which showed the rooms that were blocked she could care less. There was no attempt to even say she was sorry. or offer other options. The rooms that were reserved in our block were not the rooms that we had reserved. We were suppose to get two queens and ended up with a king and a pull out couch. Later after returning to pick up part of our party, we witnessed her having a run in with another guest. She stood in front of the counter and yelled across the lobby at the individuals, who she had asked to vacate the lobby. It was fine that she asked to vacate, but when they were slow in doing so, she started telling them that this was here property, adn she was the sales manager and they were going to leave even if she had to call the polive. I just feel that her customer skills are lacking, and she is not trained in how to handle situations. She obviously was upset that she had to come in on her day off, but she could of walked over the parties involved to and addressed then instead of yelling in front of may young people. Very unprofessional,, I can honestly say, that as a company, I would not want someone like that representing me. As the remainder of the group witnessed this, I am thinking that you are gong to lose business, as I will never stay at a fairfiled inn again.

I recently stayed at your Courtyard Marriott in Fairfax, VA off of Rte. 50 and Germantown Road for 7 days as my place was having some work done. While I was there, I noticed a rash developing on my chest region down to my stumach and up to my shoulders. I realize now after doing some research that I got bed bug bites in your hotel. I will be persuing this further unless someone can contact me and we can discuss reconciliation for my troubles. I am going to go to your hotel to show them the bed bug bites and the rash that has developed and then contact the health department. I can be reached at 703-975-1200 or tim@outdoorlightingsolutions.com. This is very uncumfortable, irritating and itchy, keeping from sleeping at night. Please contact me asap. Thank you. Tim Lawter

I've been working at Marriott for nearly 5 years. I graduated from hospitality management school with Bachelor's of science and I have no doubt in my mind that I am good at what I do. Yet, company never forseeks to recognize or give me any chances of moving up. Especially at my hotel, GM never gives opportunity for people to advance in their careers. Even administrative assistant position, he never gives chances for people to transfer within, thinking it is too much to hire someone else to do the old job. I always had ambition towards hotel industry, especially Marriott. Although, I've spent 5 years of my life devoted to this company, I am ready to leave. As unfornate it sounds, I have lost all my patience. It is extremely uncomfortable and bothering to find out in order to move up in the company, you need to be on "favortism" side of management, if not, you are not even considered. Why can't they recognize people who does their job and gives 110%. This has been completely ruined my personal happiness. I am over it. Tims to look for another job/career.

first - the phone numbers posted above are out of service. now, about marriott - i love marriott hotels, and stay in them exclusively. my husband travels for business, and he stays in marriotts exclusively. he likes to stay in the same hotel in each of the cities he travels to, and with one exception, has always been given a discounted, corporate rate. the exception is in Buffalo, NY. They won't allow him to pre-book his room - he has a regular travel schedule, and their corporate rate rooms are always booked when he tries to reserve the week before travel. The difference in rate is high, and he cannot get reimbursed for a rate above a certain amount. He actually goes to canada for the night, rather than hassle with the Buffalo Marriott. He finally reached someone at the hotel (sales, rather than an actual manager) and they offered no apology. He wants to leave Marriott completely because of this bad service. I guess 10 loyal customer years mean nothing to them. what has happened to this once shining star of hotel chains?? JW would not be happy.

My husband and I stopped for the night at the Fairfield inn at 305 Prime Outlet Blvd. in St. Augustine,Fla.on Sat. Apr. 21, 2012. We asked the woman behind the desk for a room which she said they had until I told her that I had a coupon from the hotel books which discounted the room cost. She then told me there were no more rooms for that price. It was at the time of check-in and so I asked how could all the discounted rooms be gone already since you had to show the coupon at check-in. I told her I was willing to pay the extra cost for a weekend night but she still wouldn't give us a room. She was very rude and unprofessional. I want to report her to the Marriott headquarters if I can figure out how to. I don't think I will ever want to stay at any Marriotts again!

TO: MR. JONATHAN BOGATAY, CHA, PRESIDENT & COO THE NORTH CENTRAL GROUP 1600 ASPEN COMMONS STE 200 PO BOX 620994 FROM: India Y. Collins MARRIOTT COURT YARD GUESS California RE: Thank you for great services!!! MR. JONATHAN BOGATAY, CHA, PRESIDENT & COO % Viewer's May 14, 2012 Hello, my name is India (Actress, Public Speaker,Veteran, Student). First of all I want to say that I chooses “no other” hotel but MARRIOTT. Time, patience, and wanting has provided me with this opportunity to share with you my experience with one of your COURTYARD MARRIOTT in Phoenix Arizona. I would like to express when leaving Marriott, I was in tears and the front desk manager probably thought that I was crazy when he had witness me in tears the day before- but it is not to many times that I run into people that really cares about their job, work good as a team, and assisting hotel guests with any issues/concerns in a polite, caring, compassionate, and professional way; demonstrating Integrity. It brought me to tears. So, I am a cry baby. I just appreciate the years of great services that I have received from MARRIOTT. I must admit that I had encounter a slight dilemma with an overnight staff when checking in, and I thought that my stay would continue to be an unpleasant one. I was totally wrong. At this point- it is so small- and not worth talking about. Early that morning I had the opportunity to speak a front desk manager (very new at that Marriott) from my understanding- just one week. on the job at this site, this young man was genuine in expressing his compassion for his work and wanting my GRADUATION stay to be a good one. I felt his love for his guests, not only to me, but to others - that brought me to tears. GREAT TEAMWORK Moving forward, Your staff was very friendly and helpful. The staff that had worked the breakfast buffet on Saturday May 5, 2012, and on Sunday- May 6, 2012 demonstrated great customer service skills. They did exactly that- put their guest first. And the beauty of it all was when I saw the front desk manage who had greatly assisted me the day before- well he had his apron on- and s had shown the guess- that he is a great Marriott team player as well as team-leader. The food was delicious. The housekeeping staff was great; although I had a do not disturb sign on the door- when I opened the door it was a bag filled with clean white sheet (unbelievable). I had no problem making up the bed. My favorite thing that I have always loved most about Marriott Marriott has quality furniture, clean rooms, and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN white sheets. How do the staff get those sheets so clean? Two More Things A Black/African American woman that had worked the front desk on Saturday into the late hours- was awesome- I apologize for giving this type of description but I forgot her name. However, she had a pleasant smile, great attitude, personality, and a willingness and eagerness to assist. I had ask for information about “take out” because I was hungry- and she provided be with the best of options as far a the menu selection. While sitting in the lobby area, I observed the bar attendant being polite and well rounded in communicating with the hotel guests about different topics and demonstrating his diverse knowledge about people and the different cultures. It is a pleasure to hire a Veteran or a person that is from a military family. I don't know his name either but I enjoyed his communication with others, and I know that his father served in the military. You never know who is listening? I would like to thank you and your staff for making our stay (The University of Phoenix Graduation Class of 2012) so pleasant. India Yolanda Collins May 14, 2012
