I recently flew to the Tampa Fla Marriott in Oldsmar and I found the desk staff were great when we checked in and most helpful. We were there to attend a wedding reception at the hotel. Following the g wedding we returned to the hotel to find that a brief time before the bride and groom arrived that a cash bar had been set up with a great bartender, but it was in the lobby and the choices is beverages,alcohol and soda was very very poor. We adjourned to the small reception area and basic formalities of a wedding took place, and then all were invited rto a buffet style meal which was very limited in choices with only one meat choice . Most found the meal very domestic and without much taste. When we sat to eat our ?dinner we discovered we we were lacking service pieces and wives went out to procure knives and spoons. It should also be noted that there were no water glasses or rolls. We do not fault the parents of the bride for such a poor presentation as this is possibly what they wanted or could afford. The rooms were great with great care in cleaning daily but the overall management of food services could have been better and not an Elks or Moose luncheon. Other than the rooms the rest was subpar for a Marriott property .

My wife & I stayed at the Residence Inn Marriott in New Orleans, on Saint Joseph Street, for the New Orleans Saints game on October 7, 2012. The staff & hotel was very nice, however the mangers, Mr Matt Bracken & Jeff Linden, were unreasonable! After noticing an extra $250.00 charge on our bank card, that was supposedly left at the desk for incidentials. For the first three days, we were told that $250. would be removed, cause it was just a pending charge. Then, we notice the charge went through & they deducted the amount from our account, later...telling us it was due to someone smoking in the room. My wife does "not" smoke, I smoke an occassional cigar, but ONLY in approved, designated smoking areas! Mr Jeff Linden informed me that it took 2 days for the room to be cleaned, and pictures were taken. Within those days, ANYONE could have taken a break in that room. Pictures could have been taken anywhere. I have season tickets for the Saints & explained to Matt Bracken that THIS CHARGE WAS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS, I said that I could be wrongfully charged, or spend 5 more room nights in New Orleans for the Saints games, at the Marriott, I told him that it was his call, he made the wrong decision. I apologize, but this is excessive & unacceptable!

Courtyard Marriott - Jackson, MS. SORRY!!!! I made reservations A FULL MONTH in advance to bring my elderly parents to a wedding in Jackson on October 20th. Upon arrival we were told our two rooms "were being cleaned" so we left for one hour and then returned to then be told "sorry, those rooms are not available." THEY HAD GIVEN OUR ROOMS AWAY TO SOMEONE ELSE! We were so upset after driving 5 hours to get there, check in and get to a wedding. We had to leave and go get rooms at the Hilton and rush to make the wedding. This is the worst Marriott experience I have ever had and would not recommend this place to a dog.

stayed at fairfied inn and suites in mahwah new jersey last week i am still waiting for my deposit that i provided them in cash upon check in. before check-out got the bill under my door indicating that i was getting my deposit back on my credit card. I went downstairs prior to leaving the hotel and demanded my deposit, and the front desk clerk indicated that i had to speak to the manager as he is the one that processed my deposit to be put back on my credit card. I have been checking my credit card online and no deposit was put back; therefore, contacted customer support of the marriott who forwarded my email, yep, back to that hotel. i got an answer from the general manager on the evening of october 10, 2012 asking me to contact him regarding my deposit; to which i replied the following morning, have not heard anymore from him when i asked him to process the transaction immediately. havent heard from him. almost a week later and i have yet to obtain my deposit. this is an absolute nightmare

I RECENTLY RECEIVED NEWS REGUARDING THE HOUSEKEEPING AT THE MARRIOT RESDIENCE INN OUTSIDE OF ALANTA...ONE THEY PAY JUST THE MINIUM WAGE AND TWO THEIR HOUSEKEEPERS ARE EXPECTED TO CLEAN THE ROOM IN 18 MINUETS. THINK OF THAT 18 MINUETS TO CHANGE THE BED, CLEAN THE BATHROOM AND THE KITCHEN. I AM IN GOOD CONDITION AND I CANT DO THAT..THEY EXPECT THEIR HOUSE KEEPER TO CLEAN 30 ROOMS IN A DAY...THATS NOT EVEN POSSIBLE AT 18 MINUETS FOR EACH ROOM ..DO THE MATH...SO WHAT HAPPENS THEY TAKE SHORT CUTS, LIKE NOT PUTTING CLEAN SHEETS ON THE BED AND OTHER THINGS..TO BE HONEST I WILL NEVER STAY AT ANOTHER MARRIOT AS LONG AS THAT KIND OF MENTALLY EXIST...GIVE YOUR HOUSEKEEPERS TIME TO DO THE JOB RIGHT. i SENT THIS LETTER TO GUEST RELATIONS AND HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM ANYBODY! August 19, 2012 Marriott Guest Relations Marriott # xxxxxxxxxx 1818 N. 90th Street Omaha NE 68114 To Whom It May Concern, Where do I begin? OH My! What started out to be a pleasant escape from my daily routine, and my wife’s final escape before returning to work in September, turned out to be a FIASCO while staying at Marriott Hotels during our week long ADVENTURE!!! We were on our way to Houston but had to change plans around Laurel, Mississippi and diverted our trip to good old New Orleans! We just visited New Orleans just last August but missed several sites within the city so off we drove south. We decided to stay at the same Marriott Hotel we stayed at last year. It was under construction last year but this year as we pulled in to the garage parking area the construction was gone We registered in with our Marriott rewards number and were assigned room #252 just down from the pool and opposite the exercise room. The room was equipped with a King Size bed and that’s not all… as we were to find out later that evening! After strolling the streets and stopping at the Casino, we took a walk on the Riverwalk back to the hotel and bought sandwiches to enjoy in the room for the evening! Here’s where the trip and the stay becomes, well astonishing! As we were watching TV, my wife was sitting at the desk eating her food when out of the corner of eye towards the bed she saw something run across the carpet behind the bed and the night stand beside the bed. I said “sure you did” and laughed. You see she does enjoy watching the ghost stories on TV! Anyway, about a minute later, she gasps and says “it’s a Mouse!” I again said “sure it is” and looked to the left as I was sitting on the couch and sure enough…there he was poking his head out from behind the bed night stand. My wife was already practically sitting on the desk, and I slowly approached the night stand and as I did, the thing darted across to the wall, ran along the wall towards the door and at the hinged portion could not seem to get out but suddenly darted out underneath into the hallway!!! I ran out after it and was greeted by two people whom I assume were staying in the next room, and they must have heard my wife’s screams and commented so the “mouse was in your room. We saw it when we entered the hallway earlier but did not know which room it went into.” They also said they had called down to the desk earlier and notified them as well! We ran to the phone and called the front desk to let them know about this horrific experience! A few minutes later, I was out in the hallway, again looking for the mouse, or mice, who knows at that point? I saw a couple of hotel workers at a room a few doors down from us opening it up and placing what appeared to be one of those box type mousetraps into the room. I have been staying in hotel rooms for, well since the 1980’sand have NEVER seen a mouse in any of them, let alone in a room! This is very disturbing to say the least! We were subsequently moved to an upper room on the fifth floor, I believe it was # 501 and was given credit for that night’s stay. There is more……!!!!!! Besides not being able to sleep that night as we lay in bed, my wife feels something crawling on her leg and sure enough there was. She jumps out of bed and swats at a pincher bug (an earwig) about an inch long. She swatted it onto the floor and stepped on it killing it. A few seconds later, I felt the same thing and also killed another bug. This was just getting frustrating and started to check the room and went to the window and pulled open the curtain and saw about ten bugs on the outside of the window. I checked to see if they could get in somehow but found no portal of entry and then again, searched in and around the bed before trying to retire for the night and again a sleepless one!!!! We left the next day headed back to Michigan and pulled into Tuscaloosa, Alabama and stayed at a Marriott, again, one we had stayed at the previous year. Wait there’s more to this story and it gets better!!!! As we lay there sleeping, around 12, 12:15 we here this GOD AWFUL screeching, siren sounding noise, and well YOU guessed it, the Fire Alarms were blaring throughout the hotel as well as in each individual rooms. THEY BLARED FOR OVER 15 MINUTES, then Fire trucks as showed up, but we don’t know why, because I called to the front desk a few minutes after they went off and was told that there was no fire and no cause for alarm. Yet the alarms kept blaring for about 10 or more minutes. People were starting to gather into the reception area during this whole ordeal. Some trip huh! Wait I’m still not finished!!!! One more thing… The next day we pulled into a Marriott in Florence, KY and while getting ready to go and get some breakfast, a continental one offered by the hotel, I thought they were still open, I guess I missed it by a few minutes, maybe 5 or 7 and was greeted by the elderly lady who was in charge, and she quite expressively stated we “only serve till 9:30!” It’s not like I was asking her to make me a big breakfast, just wanted to get one of those Jimmy Dean Breakfast sausage muffins to heat up in the microwave, BUT “we only serve till 9:30!!!!!” You know, at 150 bucks a night, a little more consideration should be afforded to guests. Well, that’s our trip in a nutshell (by the way we stayed at a Comfort Inn in Laurel, Mississippi before we got down to New Orleans, - Nothing happened there by the way. I am flabbergasted as to the circumstances of our stays this trip and believe this would make for a good movie if I were to sell the rights to it. I really enjoyed staying at the Marriott chain of hotels in the past and am planning another trip to Texas in December for Christmas to visit our daughter in Houston, but very seriously am considering staying at other competitive hotels for our trip down and back up here to Michigan. After reading this, WOULDN’T YOU?? ! I also certainly hope that this was a freak thing of nature, our unfortunate circumstances as detailed in the above paragraphs, but now I’m wondering if I am the only one in the past that has had this type of experience???? Please forward this to your Customer Service Manager and even higher up the chain to Corporate, if they really care about their future existence in providing hospitable services to your guests. I'm currently staying at Fairfield Inn in north Scottsdale, Arizona. I had called the 800 reservation number they were very helpful for which I was very grateful because I'm disabled & am currently displaced from where I'm living which is only a few of miles from my home. My home is being torn apart due to water damage, mold & being tested for other toxic issues. I have cats & they are legally service animals, yes service animals protected by the American Disabilities Act the same as seeing eyed dogs etc. I told the 800 reservation number, the hotel when I called & told them that I have service animals. I was told I would need an updated note from my doctor which I got that morning last Friday September 14, 2012. I checked in that same day. Well at least I was trying to check-in when I was told in no uncertain terms that not only could not stay but that I was a LIAR yes a guest called a LIAR. They claimed I never told them. I'm able to stay here because my sister works for Marriott in Florida, so I'm on associate rate. And they even called my sister work & talked to the the hotel manager & when I asked to talk to Carlos the manager the assistant general manager said goodbye to Carlos & hung up the phone, then she called someone else who confirmed that I'm allowed service animals no matter what breed they are. And when she tried to charge me pet security & pet cleaning charge she was also informed that I cannot be charged. I had to stand for a very long time for no reason, I use oxygen & take a lot of medication for which to live. Also my kitties were in the car of a friend & they had to wait. And the top of all of this is that they said they would never (NEVER) be able to have anyone else stay in this room again. These are not lions or bears these are potty/littler trained kitties that I clean out their potties daily. These are not skunks that are spraying. What is wrong with a corporation that denies disabled patrons their rights & how does the staff & especially management dare to call a patron a LIAR.

I am rward member of marriott,when I go to any city will try to book marriott hotel.and I am still use jw shanghai marriott hotel's health club since 2009 untill this july 15.I want to extend my membership again,but they don't let me do,thay said they have renewr gym,so they stop everybody to extend.That is so strange,I never heard that when the gym are going to reform,they will stop membership in the world,cause I teach fitness at Japan for 20years,club always welcome member will join,nothing to refuse.so I know some reason let they did that stupid things in the background of hotel. I have been use there for 3years,I know all the members including the user who staying the hotel apartment,I have so many friends are staying there too.so if I can not use gym,meaning I can not so often to meet my friends too.make me very sad. for that I pay very expensive fee to keep the membership,cause I like the hotel and my friends.of couse when my friends will visit me from the other city,I alays book JW marriott shanghai for them. At first,GM give me agreetment to extend membership,I just have to go to business trip,never pay at that moment,I thought after I back to Shanghai,it would be ok too. The end,when I came back Shanghai want to pay and use gym.they didn't accept and refused me. I am not way,just change to the other 5stars hotel.but recently my good girlfriend tell me,she extend Jw marriott gym membership. So I want to know why the club only refuse me,it is so unfair.My all friends said it is so terrible. I think Shanghai Jw marriott hotel is not international hotel,just local low level hotel via somebody control and lost marriott policy. sorry for my poor English. I am Japanese. shoko

I recently attended a family reunion at the Washington DC Courtyard Marriott at the Navy Yard. I was there from Aug 30th to Sept 3rd. Everyone at the hotel was very nice except the manager. He was horrible. He actually yelled at me because I had come there by car and left the garage and could not park back in there. They failed to tell you when you register there that they only have 58 spaces and the garage is not owned by them. He told me I should be taking cabs everywhere and not using my car. I had never heard that before. No where on the website for the hotel does it state there are issues if you bring your car.

I stayed at the marriott Center, Downtown Charlotte North Carolina for 4 days last week. It was bad enough that they charged me 559 for the first night in advance before I even got there, without telling me, but, even though I called in advance & told a manager I would be sharing the room & bill, they hit my debit account with a $1411.77 hold for the entire stay in advance. This was after I specifically asked if the balance would be charged or held in advance & was told absolutely not! When I complained to the manager on duty, who apologized & promised toclear things up immediately. When I asked for more specifics as to when the funds would go back into m account, he said "definitely by tomorrow". It took until wednesday, two days later for them to clear my account, leaving me with no funds for that long. Amazingly, I discovered the next day that they put the 1411.77 hold back on, after I used the card for important purchases I had to put off for the time the money was held from my account. I spoke to the accounting manager, who again apologized & promised to take care of the situation immediately & that she would call my bank & explain that it was Marriott's fault. Three days later, Monday, the 1411.77 is still held against my account, even though I checked out Friday. I just got off the phone with a V.P. at my bank who called the accounting mgr at Marriott & finally got the hold released. I can finally use my account again, but not until after Marriott put me through a ridiculous amount of anxiety & inconvenience. On top of all this, the service at the hotel restaurant, particularly 2 of their hosts, & one of the people at the front desk, was rude & offensive. It will be a cold day in the tropics before I stay at a Marriott again

MY GRANDMOTHER PASSED AWAY AND WE WERE IN SEBRING FL FOR THE FUNERAL, STAYED AN THE RESIDENCE INN 3221 Tubbs Road Sebring, FL 33870 1 863-314-9100, MY BROTHER IN LAW WORKS AT THE COURTYARD MARRIOTT WATERSIDE AS WELL AS TWO OF MY AUNTS THEY GOT US DISCOUNTS WITH THEIR EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT, WE CALLED MADE THE RESERVATIONS WAS CHECKED IN WITHOUT A PROBELM THEN THE NEXT MORNING UPON CHECKOUT TWO MEMBERS OF OUR FAMILY WERE BEING CHARGED REGULAR RATES, AFTER A LENGTHY CONVERSATION WITH THE NIGHT AUDITOR THEY CORRECTED THE BILLS, WHEN I CHECKED OUT THE THREE ROOMS THAT I HAD WE ASKED IF EVERYTHING WAS OK AND IF ANYTHING ELSE WAS NEEDED WAS TOLD EVERYTHING WAS FINE ONLY TO RECEIVE A CALL MONDAY MORNING FROM MY SISTER THAT THE GENERAL MANAGER FROM THAT HOTEL HAD CALLED THE GENERAL MANAGER OF MY BROTHER IN LAWS JOB TO FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT STATING WE MISUSED FORMS WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE AT ALL, NOW MARRIOTT IS THREATENING HIS JOB VERY DISAPPOINTING. MANAGEMENT DID NOT INQUIRE OR SEARCH TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED FROM THEIR NIGHT CLERK OR MYSELF WHO GOT THE ROOMS CALLED TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBELM WAS AND HE WAS VERY RUDE MY FAMILY HAS FREQUENTED THIS HOTEL OVER THE YEARS WITH AND WITHOUT DISCOUNTS BUT WILL NO LONGER. ROOMS EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE HORRIBLE

I went to go to sleep tonight at the Courtyard by Marriott San Diego overall loved the hotel... I have stayed at some 5 Star hotels. Went to go to sleep STAINS all over my sheets... Discusting the GM came to take a look and offers me a whole 25 dollars off my stay! Are you serious? My kids are sleeping on these sheets... Tho hotel is a joke! Being a professional in what I do I would never tolerate this any- Hos I have pictures and have no problem exposing them

On 8/4-8/6/12: JW Marriott in Summerlin Las Vegas, NV. On our Honeymoon! While sleeping, we were rudely woken up by water dripping sounds coming from the bathroom of our hotel room around 4:30am. I(the bride), heard water dripping in the bathroom and immediately woke up my husband(the groom), regarding the sounds I was hearing coming from the bathroom. My husband got up and walked into the bathroom slipping on the floor telling me, babe turn the lights on. I turn on the lights in the bathroom and my husband was standing in a puddle of water, and water was dripping on his head and onto the bathroom floor. The water was dripping from the ceiling, vents and light fixtures of the bathroom from the above floor. We couldn’t believe our eyes. I immediately picked up the phone and dialed 0 and let the operator know that this is an emergency there’s water dripping down into the bathroom from the ceiling and to please have someone to come and help us in our room. While waiting for help, my husband was slipping on the water and almost fell, trying to get our clothes and luggage out of the closet so they wouldn’t get wet. The senior engineer and maintenance staff arrived shocked by the amount of water falling from speakers, fixtures, and air conditioning vents. The staff could not believe this scene. According to the senior maintenance guy, “the man (guess) above us fell asleep with the bathroom tube water running and it flooded out his entire room and rooms below it”. Our Honeymoon was Ruened! The Managers were extremely rude, vulgar, bad-mannered, foul, and offensive to me and my husband, like it was our fault that our room got flooded.

I recently visited the Meadowview Marriott in Kingsport, TN I was at a wedding reception and noticed a very rude pregnant banquet captain talking down to her servers. If this is how they treat their employees, I would never want any part of this place! This captain needs another job under someone who would treat her like that! Corporate better take a close look at his Hotel and their Management to allow this to go on.

OMG I work for the damn company! Reading all these complaints, it's like you're trampling on a door mat! Do you know how hard we try to please guest? Sorry but things aren't perfect. I go out of my way to make sure guest are as comfortable as they can be but it pisses me off when they complain online about things they could have told me, because i don't trust the front desk, if i could have made a better stay. Just listening to what you're complaining about. Really think it through.

We were passing through Valdosta, GA on our way home to Sarasota FL, from a vacation in Tennessee. We had our two dogs with us, and when we went into the lobby, saw a sign indicating "no pets".....so walked out without speaking to anyone. The manager saw us leave and followed us outside to inquire as to whether there was a problem (causing us to walk away). When we told him about our dogs, ....without preamble, voluntarily enlisted his front desk personnel to find us a dog-friendly hotel (not even in the Marriott chain of hotels).....AND get the phone number and directions for us to get there. We felt that this kindness went FAR and above their call of duty, and so, we wanted to commend the GM, Tim Chakraborty, and his front desk person, Erica, for their kindness and consideration for road-weary travelers. Front desk personnel at Courtyard in Cherry Creek,Denver erroneously processed a hold on my card after my wife had presented her card for the transaction. When I discovered their error and asked them to remove the hold from my card and properly put it on my wife's, they said they could not correct their erroneous hold until after we check out. Needless to say we will never stay at Marriott again and run the risk of having erroneous $600 plus holds on cards. What was a joyous occasion of accompanying our first born to college turned sickening thanks to Marriott.

Imagine my surprise when I found out that the woman my husband was "dating" in Seattle / Redmond was one of the front desk clerks at the Courtyard where he always stayed?? How on earth did she even have time to work for you when she sent him OVER 800 texts over a 3 week period of time? Guess who won't be staying in your hotels anymore? ANY OF THEM. Don't you people have rules?? Husband is currently being dealt with.

Hello my name is Tamika Johnson, I work at the Sprinhill Marriotte in Pensacola on the beach I have made many complaints about the staff to the supervisor and General Manager. I have been threaten to be punched in the mouth by the inspector Turrell he is a male employer at Springhill.(nothing was done about that). Recently 8/22/2012 I calmly told Leroy that I had linen and trash on my cart so he can go remove it he went off on me I said that's on you We knew the inspector was there and I was just doing my job Leroy told me he is tired of our Shit (i am not being rude but I have to put his words in here) and is going to stop us from fucking with him. He walked up to me and pushed me with his shoulder telling me he was going to hit me in my face and to meet him in the garage, We argured Minutes later I am on my way to my car Leroy exits the downstairs into the lobby and bumps me hard into the wall he removed his uniform shirt wearing a white t-shirt only. I tell the front desk to call Mrs. Booker because I am about to call the police Because this is the second incident that occured. She got mad at me for calling the police and I received a call AFTER 6 o/clock telling me not to come to work no more And I put myself in that situation as if I am suppose to let this Male disrespect me threaten me over and over again and do nothing. Leroy has gotten into alot of arguements with other Housekeepers We had a guest compliant about him and Barbara fussing at the elevators and our GM read that to us in huddle one morning. I was told not to come back and Leroy is still working there. I made a complaint to the police I had witnesses but they had their jobs to worry about and i do understand but what's right is right. Are the Housekeepers suppose to be taking abuse or threats from the male workers and are we suppose to be called Bitches by Mrs. Booker the supervisor, who tells us not to change the tops of the beds because they are new even though a guest just checked out and slept in the bed that we are told to re-use. I have asked to the GM to talk to all the Housekeepers and find out what they have to say that haven't happened. Many Housekeepers walked out because of Mrs. Booker are they over heard Mrs. Booker, Turrell,Tracy,Leroy and Yvonne talking about them in the Laundry room are the Housekeeping area. There have been many arguements with-in Springhill and its mainly to do with the Supervisor and inspectors against the housekeepers. Something need to be done because I am talking to a lawyer about this matter and hope I can get Justice from being abused and threaten by male employers and a Supervisor that is so unprofessional.
